Great view, delicious food at excellent prices and smack in the middle of some really terrific wine country. How can you not love this place!

I really enjoy the food, ambiance, and prices. A great little gem to hit in the middle of wine tasting.

I really love coming here for brunch. Its so relaxing to sit on the outdoor patio and watch the golfers on the course and the rolling vineyard hills behind them. I always get the Eggs Benedict which are delicious. A glass of champagne is complimentary with your meal(sweet!). I definitely recommend this place for a brunch with a view!

Great setting overlooking golf course and hills. Attentive service and not overwhelming menu. Although the rest of our table had satisfactory dishes that they ordered mine felt short. I had ordered the shrimp and scallop arepa. They seem to not understand what an arepa is. The dish consisted of over-frozen stringy shrimp and minuscule scallops drenched in a pesto like sauce. There were 2 mounds of cornbread-like cakes(guess that’s their version of arepa) and fried plantains in the center. Very disappointing! I would probably go back there for the atmosphere and be careful what I order.

Our next stop on the weekly Sunday brunch train found us at nearby Porters. We all looked over their impressive menu and knew instantly what we wanted. Arrived on a nice and mild late morning, looked like there were some golfers about ready to break for lunch so the reservation I made was welcomed. We were warmly greeted then out waiter came by to get out drink orders. Most of the table opted for non-alcoholic refreshing drinks like Arnold Palmers, fresh brewed iced tea, orange juice and water. I have to say the AP was the best I’d had since it was blended just right rather than the two-tone variety. All drinks came with free refills so that was nice. I’d already decided on the Joe’s Special(Scramble w/Kobe Ground Beef, onions and spinach) which also came with a side of country potatoes. The others weren’t so sure as there were so many tasty options. I had to act as a deciding vote for at least my mom and sister. While waiting for our food we took in the breathtaking views of the nearby golf course and vineyard rich hills surrounding the area. It made us all think how cool it would be to have a house up in these thar hills. Not long after our appreciation of the views and subsequent conversations, the food came. Portion sizes looked to be out of this Fairway(see what I did there?) and enough to make these tummies very happy. I was quite pleased with my dish in the realm of taste and presentation however I wasn’t pleased with the runny factor. I’d attribute that to spinach not drained thoroughly because the eggs seemed fluffy enough. Loved the country potatoes in their cubed and lightly fried state with a hint of seasoning. I of course had to bastardize it with a ribbon of ketchup but no one else seemed to mind. I appreciated how kind and attentive our waiter was. Of course like always he too was enamored by my DN’s charms. I had the whole table agree with me that we will be back again!

A friend of mine sets up golf here every monday and a few times when his regular crew does not want to play they call me. I usually end up playing about twice a month. I have had several of the menu items but a lot of times as we are in a hurry I just have a bowl of soup or chile. Food is always really good and the service is great. The two people that I recognize the most and usually serve us are Thomas and Jessica. The provide great service and are always smiling and happy. Always enjoy my golf and lunch time there.

This place was a huge let down. While our server and hostess tried making up for the slow service with friendliness, the«chef» burnt and overcooked my boyfriend’s burger which was supposed to be medium rare, and forgot the cheese. It came back microwaved(way past well done at this point) with melted cheese on top. Sent it back, and the 3rd try was less charred, but still past well done. The excuse we were given for the excessively burnt meat was that«it is cooked in the char grill style». While my order of the corned beef hash was fine, the entire experience was ruined by having to wait for long periods for service in an uncrowded restaurant, and have a dubious cook who seems to have little understanding of basic meat cookery in the kitchen handling our food.

We are regulars for weekend brunch here in the summers. We love dining al fresco, and the free mimosas and friendly wait staff help in our decision to come here every few weeks. I had the occasion to celebrate a special event last week, and worked with Brian to get everything set up. From our first interaction via email, I knew I wanted to have my event here. He was very friendly and helpful. He gave me estimates right away, and seemed eager to have my business. Other places I contacted were unresponsive or unwilling to accommodate my requests. My luncheon event included 21 adults and 6 kids. The staff and patrons were super understanding about having all the toddlers running around our party area. The food was superb, and staff kept our event running smoothly, from drink orders and lunch service, to cake cutting and coffee. They also allowed us to come in early to decorate our area with balloons and streamers. It really made our party look more festive set it apart from the rest of the restaurant. They also added some special touches for me, which I did truly appreciate. I will definitely consider this place again for another event!

Came here for lunch on the weekend and it wasn’t crowded. The service is friendly and fast. I had the roasted veggie foccacia sandwich and it was so good! The bread was really soft and nicely toasted on the outside and it was packed with so much good stuff! Portabello mushrooms, bell peppers, avocado, eggplant, etc… It was so hearty and delicious I couldn’t even finish it! I would definitely come back for that again!

Came here with my parents, as my father loves to golf here. They have great burgers and sandwiches. We sat outside since weather was chillax and sunny. I decided on the kobe burger and a caesar salad as a side. Food came quickly. But our server Kayce took way too long to bring out our drinks, pretty sure she forgot, as we had to flag her down and remind her, they came way after our food did. Seems like they pay more attention to their regulars than their new patrons. I think she checked on us once, and it seemed like a bother to her. Only time she came back was for the bill. Burger was cooked well, but flavor was lacking and a little too much burnt char on the outside that left a bitter taste, but the inside was cooked perfect medium. Caesar was average, nothing to talk about there. Once again with crap for service, waitress charged us for an extra iced tea, but when called upon they corrected it, and she apologized. Eat outside if weather permits. View is exceptional, consists of beautiful green fairway and eager golfers firing shots from up the hill. I can’t help but think at least you’d have time to duck-and-cover if shit hit the fan– or your face. On the bright side, they have a decent driving range, but you have to bring your own tees, no mats, unless you like chopping the grass. Nothing too special here, food okay, service, shitty. One star for the view and one star for the mediocre food and driving range. I probably won’t be back! meeeeh.

I needed a brunch spot with outdoor seating for a meeting with my friends, and this seemed perfect. We went there during a sunny, but windy, Sunday morning and opted to sit outside. The location is beautiful, but I did not like the bees that kept attacking my friend! It was a little funny at first, but then I got a bug landed in my coffee and a fly on my food. I wasn’t really laughing then. I ordered the eggs benedict. The menu stated that all breakfast orders came with a glass of champagne. So naturally, I was surprised when we got our food and no accompanying fancy booze. I waited a bit but nothing came. I finally asked the server about it and she said that most people don’t usually want it, so that’s why she didn’t bring it. UMMM… my question is, why would she assume we didn’t want it and not give us the option beforehand? She assumed with the wrong person. I liked my food and really enjoyed being there. But I wasn’t crazy about the service. To be perfectly honest, our server was acting a bit snooty and I’m not sure why. She would also take a long time to bring anything we would ask for or even check on us. I had a dead bug in my coffee for over 15 minutes until I was able to flag her down. Then she took some more time to bring me a new one. My friend was waiting for a refill for a while too. In the end, the server seemed much more attentive when she came to check on the bill a couple of times. My other friend ended up having to flag someone else down because apparently our server gave up! I’ll probably go back again to give it another shot because the location was just too nice, and the food was good.

I went here with two of my girlfriends for brunch. The food was good, but I’ve experienced better, especially when it came to service. I ordered an omelet with spinach, tomatoes, avocado and cheese. It was a normal, tasty. It came with really good potatoes. The English muffins tasted kind of funny, like it was store bought and was in the bag for awhile. The main reason for the two stars was the service. The brunch came with complimentary champagne. My friend inquired about it, and the reason the waitress gave for not asking us if we wanted it was because some people don’t drink. That’s a poor excuse. She also didn’t come by to check on us, and when she did, it was to check if we had put in our credit cards for the bill. We weren’t ready yet because this get-together was actually a meeting. Well, she never came back and I had to flag another waitress to give the bill to. Though the prices are reasonable for brunch, you’re really paying for the view. It’s very pretty. It’s best to sit inside, though, because it was windy when I dined there and there were lots of bugs and bees buzzing around.

This is one of my favorite places to come for lunch on the weekends. I especially enjoy coming here when the weather is nice because we love to sit out on their deck and place bets on whether or not the golfers on the the ninth greens will stick their approach shots or make their putts. The food here is pretty good, but when the weather is nice, the atmosphere is the reason to come. A couple nice things… 1. They have a weekend brunch menu. Although it’s a little abbreviated from their normal lunch menu, all meals come with a complimentary glass of champagne. Don’t forget to ask, because we’ve noticed that they occasionally forget to ask. 2. They offer a 10% discount for NCGA members. Recently they’ve asked me to show my card and have only applied the discount to my meal. Not sure if that is a permanent change or just the luck of the draw. But still, a discount is a discount. 3. They also have reserved parking spots for NCGA members. They don’t verify it, and parking isn’t usually an issue anyway, but I feel like a baller when I pull into an exclusive spot reserved for me. 4. I typically prefer to get something lighter when we come here. Their brunch menu satisfies this desire. They have a few great salad options. The Bartlett Pear and Rosemary Chicken Salad and Tempura Rock Shrimp Salad are our two favorites. 5. Bloody Mary is decent. Super Spicy! Their bar lacks enough beer taps. I think they have 4 or 5 and they rarely rotate. Pretty typical for a restaurant like this, but still, I get a little tired of SN Pale Ale and Fat Tire. 6. Pretty kid friendly. We’ve been bringing our 2-year-old here since she was a new born. All in all I highly recommend this place for lunch. I have never been here for dinner, but imagine it would be nice to sit out on the deck while watching the sun set on a warm summer evening. We’ll have to remember to try that sometime. I’ll keep Unilocalers posted when we do!

************** UPDATEREVIEW ************* I came back here with customers, as our regular visit here in the Livermore Wine Country, which I don’t mind at all. Got to golf a little, not really, I watched though! & had a nice lunch here with a great view to the Poppy Ridge golf course, a nice delicious Angus Ribeye French Dip, and 85 degree in mid NOV, got to love a Monday like this. We had our usual: — Angus Ribeye French Dip with side of Caesar Salad — my Fav here, I have half to take home. Love the caramelized sweet onion, horseradish, aioli, & Brandy au jus, so tasty and just perfect! — Barlette Pear and Rosemary Chicken Salad, with safe derby cheese, dried cranberry, sweet onion poppy seed vinaigrette — this was so good, refreshing & we all shared it. — Albacore tuna Melt with cheddar cheese on whole wheat — I got a bite of it, again, it’s a large portion, my customer also had left over. — LLNL burger with spicy chipolte mango salsa, cheddar cheese, fried onion — Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory(LLNL) burger was created by a retiree LLNL. This burger is huge & it was really juicy good! Our server was nice, but again, as usual, the service took 30 minutes before we got to see our lunch! I guess everyone else is playing golf & drinking beers here, no need to rush!

We enjoyed Easter brunch at Poppy Ridge today. Lots of great food, all the sparkling wine you want and a beautiful view. They even had little Easter treats for the kids, such as one of those cool cereal bowls with the straw on the side, filled with plastic eggs and candy. Nice touch! The only bummer was the price: With tax and tip, we paid $ 95 for two adults. Thank goodness they didn’t charge for our two-year old!

We had a family brunch for my husband’s birthday at Poppy Ridge. We had about 10 people so I called ahead. When we arrived our table was already set up for us. The staff was limited but the service was still great. The server did forget our champagne but was quick to bring it when we reminded her. The food came out quickly. The prices are right. My eggs benedict was enjoyable. I hate when the cook messes up the sauce and I end up having to scrap it off. This was not the case. Everyone else enjoyed their food. They brought my husband a piece of delicious lemon cake and we all sung him happy birthday. I would definitely use Poppy Ridge again for a larger get together.
