This place was highly recommended by another winery. It is owned by 3 Steves hence the name. We had the pleasure to meet one of the Steves. I just love meeting people who are passionate about what they do because the energy is contagious! There were some wines I really liked and some that I did not but my friend had opposing thoughts on some of the wines so I truly think wine is something you just need to try yourselves to find the right«fit.» There’s one list of tasting wines and if you are part of their wine club, they toss in a few extras. They used some interesting grapes that I’ve never heard of to make their wines and some from Chile. They tossed in a few extra tastings because they had open bottles or simply because they thought we’d enjoy it. My friend who is NOT a wine drinker even bought her first wine because she really enjoyed it! It was a Brut Sparking Wine with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Two of the wines were not received accurately on their menu(they just copied and pasted a different description) and it bothered me a bit because I felt like I as I learn about wines, I wanted to know what I was drinking and how it was described. Come visit and enjoy the patio and bean toss games in the back too!

You’ll get distracted by the fun. This place is fun. You’ll get distracted by the amazing views from the patio. Many wineries in Livermore don’t have the Greenville Road views that McGrail and 3 Steves have. You’ll get distracted by the non-robotic genuinely nice people working in the tasting room. They really want you to have a good time. But the wine. It’s really good. I especially love their Chilean offerings. They start you off with a nice bubbly and take you through cabs, blends, merlots and zins as well. If you’re coming to LIvermore, You could do worse than come here, McGrail and Steven Kent. Three wineries is the right amount and you’ll be headed the right direction to get back on the freeway happy with your Livermore experience. Note: If you want some great food, double back here when it becomes Posada Thurs-Sun at 5 pm. Stellar Southwestern food you’ll call Mexican unless you’re Mexican. It’s pretty amazing.

First time to 3 Steves. Excellent, friendly service. Didn’t catch the servers name but she was very outgoing and knowledgeable. Delicious sparkling wine, bought two bottles and will be back for the Interino.

3 Steves makes some of the best wine in the Livermore Valley across the board from their Chardonnay to Cabernet. They are experiencing growing pains, and may be a little too popular, since there is always a hard time finding room at the tasting bar.

Nice friendly staff with no wait on a weekend despite a good size crowd. Tasting fee is waived with bottle purchase. The wine flight wasn’t bad that day with the main stand-out being the blend they grow in Chile. They also offer a sparkling Brut which I took home. Nice pleasant stop overall!

Highly impressive, perhaps transcendental. I couldn’t recommend it higher even though I went in with the mental mode of knocking it down a few pegs in my Unilocal grade. True, I’m skeptical as I look at this dusty kind of boonies house from the outside, and bewildered in doubt bordering on horror if I should in any way trust three guys that go by the name Steve. I couldn’t have been more wrong about this place, in the best way. It’s kind of a simple shiny wood look inside, by the way. Once you get started, oh my, I never wanted to stop drinking. Why should anyone anymore pack up the car and take a long drive to Napa Valley when Livermore is thriving on its own wine vine Renaissance, I often ask. I got an answer not from Steve, but by John. «Napa Valley is for auto parts, while Livermore is for winemaker’s wine,» he said, and while tipsy, I was blown away by his huge metaphor. «In Livermore, and here especially, the winemakers are always here pouring the wine themselves and see it move on a day to day basis. Napa Valley is so commercial, the winemakers are never on site, they’re far removed usually, and it’s such an assembly line process, that I’m sure most of them aren’t even sure what is the final result.» I went on the learn that the three Steves are hosts of a riverboat tour in Germany every year, just ‘cuz they are winemakers and great talkers and all that shazaam. These Steves are really living the life, I tell you. Oh, buy the Interino Chilean Blend(Cab, Carmenere, Malbec, Syrah). They like made it in Chile. It’s like a swishy yet tubular magic carpet ride down some velvety vortex, or something, or as it feels when drinking it. Like an anatomical«Yellow Submarine» experience, that good man, that far out. #sublime

Who knew Livermore Valley was such a pretty landscape?! 3 Steves is situated near the end of Greenville Road and a top just enough of a grade to have a 360 view of the Livermore Valley. Gorgeous. The tasting room is nicely appointed and room enough to welcome a decent weekend crowd. We began with the whites and then ventured off into really nice reds. Our favorite has an interesting back story, they actually grow in the Chilean region which makes for a very interesting read varietal; Interino… A $ 10 tasting fee, great selection of pours, and your fee is applied to a single bottle of wine. A definite stop as you’re exploring this portion of the Livermore Valley, enjoy!

This is the first winery We stopped at in Livermore and my first time tasting in Livermore. Service is nice and friendly our sommelier Jerry was great. We Tasted like 10 different wines I can’t remember the names of the wines we tasted but I do know we like a red old vine Zinfandel and we purchased a bottle of it to take home. Tasting cost $ 10.00 for group of under eight people and $ 15 for groups over 8 people one tasting waived if you buy a bottle. I will be back this summer are sooner.

Had a great time with these guys today. 3 Steves is perched on a hilltop on the eastern side of the Livermore valley. It’s quite scenic with views in many directions. It’s a popular place for a couple reasons(in no particular order) 1, they have a solid bbq food truck on site. 2, the staff are friendly and have fun personalities. 3, the wines are terrific. While we were there enjoying a tasting, we had a visit by Steve… the«first» Steve. It was great fun to spend some time with him discussing his wines and hearing the story about how he got into the business. He’s an interesting person who is very knowledgeable about his passion of winemaking. He absolutely loves what he does and by our experience today, thoroughly enjoys seeing his guests have a great time sampling his creations. Thanks Steve, keep up the great work my friend!

The owners are amazing, not only did they provide us with excellent service but we had a table set up in the back, the experience is speechless. We are celebrating a birthday and a new marriage. Alene was our server and not only was she super knowable she gave us the best accent wines to our pallet. I am coming back again next weekend and we bought the membership. Thank you once again! We are currently drinking 3 Cabs 2013– simply amazing!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a long time! My boyfriend and I were driving around the area and on a whim stopped at Concannon. We were having enough fun that we wanted to continue our tasting and Concannon recommended 3 Steves. Thanks Concannon! We immediately were struck by the grounds and the cute-cozy set-up. We were served by a lovely lady who was very knowledgeable about the wine and made us feel very comfortable. I wanted to buy more than three bottles of wine. :/ We had absolutely no expectations going into the tasting but were impressed by the quality and creativity of the wine. We still have wine at home from this visit and I am waiting for the perfect night, perfect meal to open a bottle. It was that special of a day. :) Thank you for the nice experience. Sorry this review took me so long to write. :/

3 Steves was super friendly, but the wine wasn’t as tasty as what we’d get in Sonoma or Healdsburg. I’m also not usually a fan of non-champagne houses making champagne… it’s not easy! There was a brut, white wine blend(not bad), chardonnay, three cabs blend, chilean blend(this was pretty good), younger vine zin, «Three Brunettes» blend, merlot, cab franc, cab sauv, and a port. Even though the wines weren’t our style, we still enjoyed the $ 10 tasting and sitting outside, breathing in the clean air and watching the hawks fly across the green hills… A nice place to celebrate Valentine’s Day :)

My wife and I visited 3 Steves Winery for the first time yesterday and we are so glad we did. The wine is fantastic and the atmosphere was electric! We had the pleasure of talking to 2 of the 3 Steves and getting to taste some of the wine that wine club members get we immediately signed up to be members. We had such a great time, we highly recommend you stopping by there and have some great wine. Looking forward to the next release and upcoming events!

I visited 3 Steves Winery for the first time and loved their wines so much, I became a club member and took home 14 bottles of wine. Three Blondes White Wine Blend is one of the best white wines I’ve ever tasted. I’m more of a red fan so was blown away by this white. Also a fan of the 2013 Three Cabs Blend and 2013 Cabernet Franc. The tasting room is located at the end of Greenville Road. The day we went, it didn’t feel crowded, but you certainly felt like you were sharing the space with a healthy crowd of wine enthusiasts. The aesthetics of the tasting room is the perfect amount of an at-home feel with an appropriate flare of boutique. The staff are super friendly and know their wines — I love a winery that can share its knowledge with passion, and this place does an excellent job. With a name like ‘3 Steves’, it’s nice to see its namesakes behind the bar interacting with their customers on a personal level. It’s clear they love what they do and enjoy sharing it with all who enter through their doors. Don’t miss this place on your tasting tour of Livermore wineries!!!

Three Steves winery is the best up and coming winery in the Livermore valley. Awesome tasting room with a rap around bar, couches to hang out on and a patio with an amazing view of gorgeousness!!! The wines are awesome too! To start, they have sparkling wine and Spanish wines?!! Where else can you get that in Livermore! The staff is funny, friendly and knowledgeable and their tasting room manager is an awesome host! A must go to next time you’re out there. Cheers!

Had a great time! Met 2 of the 3 Steve’s and felt like old friends by the time we headed out. The wines were the star of the visit, but the hospitality and knowledge shared made the visit extra special. Steve B spent a lot of time with us and explained the history of the winery and the region, plus some of his personal history. Would highly recommend a visit! Even had a chance to meet Collin from nearby Nottingham Cellars. Class guys all the way around.

3 Steves Winery wasn’t a memorable tasting, it wasn’t the wine, it was the timing. Event: LVBTE(3÷22÷15) barrel tastes: –2013 red wine(forgot varietal) too young(harsh) to have distinguished taste barrel notes: –the steves like to mix their final product from different barrels in various percentage. i. e, french oak, american oak, neutral barrel, etc. –the tasting received gives no idea of what finished product is like. have to go to tasting room tor that 3 stars for now, rating subject to change after taste tasting.
