Used to have good strong coffee. The other day I got a pumpkin latte in large size and paid $ 7, that’s right $ 7. It was diluted and no flavor. Hello Dunkin Donuts, good bye local coffee shop.

I found a dirty hippy and she told me they had great coffee here… On a serious note, I Unilocaled«coffee» and this place came up. If this is what the locals refer to as «great coffee» I would hate to try their«good coffee» I went in and the place was clean, the girl behind the counter completely ignored me for the first few minutes as she over performed while making a simple ice coffee. She took my order and the first thing I do at every coffee place: order it black. There is no better way to taste the quality and roasting ability of a local shop. I took the cup to go and went on my merry way. I arrived at the location I was working at, and by this time it had cooled to a fairly decent temperature so I took a sip. It was overpriced crap. You couldn’t even taste the bean over the excruciating burn taste and acidity. How is this ever good coffee in any world? I highly suggest findings new roaster, and/or temperature controlling the brewing process. If the liquid burns when you drink it fresh, it’s been brewed to hot. I think Starbucks coffee is slightly better(and that doesn’t even count as good coffee), so I’ll just go there for the rest of the week.

Thank god for this place! Not too many places in the area where you can have a nice coffee/espresso — spacious, clean and friendly staff. Relax outside and listen to the locals chatting. Great part of town to — go for a walk after.

The coffee and the blueberry scone deserve 4 stars; however, the establishment ambiance was kind of bland. So, for now I will give this coffee shop 3 stars. Also, the girl finishing up her shift as we came in was more helpful and knowledgeable about their menu than the girl just coming in and taking care of us. The shop has beautiful woodwork and has great potential. They have wifi and are located a few steps from Onondaga lake front, beautiful views; so, I will most likely give it another try in the future.

Visiting Freedom of Espresso on a cold winter day turned out to be a good selection for a late breakfast. I had pondered making my own coffee, going to a national chain(because it’s inexpensive), returning to another local coffee roaster I have experienced, have a gut busting breakfast at a diner or try something new. Today, I went for something new and probably will do it again ! In the Village of Liverpool and not far from the lake, I was able to drive to their location and find easy street parking. After entering, I was able to see that the floors were all hardwood, the walls finished in decorative wood and had table and counter seating. I was greeted very nicely and politely. I looked rather foolish as I was scanning the areas above and behind the counter looking for their coffee menu. As I asked where the menu was, I looked down and saw a small menu on display on top of their counter… never mind! Of course they have a full selection of lattes, espressos, cappuccinos etc… A small display case of attractive baked goods was temptingly placed next to the main counter. I selected a cappuccino and a brioche with chocolate chips. Mmmmm… health food. After I received my drink and food, I selected a seat at the counter situated at the window. There was an electrical outlet very closely situated to my seat so, I could plug in and use the free WiFi on my tablet. I tasted the cappuccino and found it to be flavorful, satisfying and smooth in nature. It worked deliciously together with the buttery and chocolate flavors and textures of the brioche. The brioche was a large cut portion so, I even returned to purchase another cup of regular coffee. Again, they have a nice flavorful, even smooth brew. What felt like 30 minutes turned out to be about 1.5 hours. I had been sitting, reading sipping and eating very enjoyably. Not a bad way to pass some time and treat one’s self !

I live around the corner and stop at this location pretty frequently. I usually get my drinks to go although I have had a few meetings here. The coffee is good and the dirty chai(Chai tea latte with a shot of espresso.)is AWESOME. It is more expensive than Starbucks. I go to Starbucks for plain coffee but I go to freedom for the specialty drinks.

Fan of the local chain, Freedom of Espresso. This location’s atmosphere leaves a little bit to be desired as I’m not a huge fan of the plain wood table and chairs set-up they have going. However, they win me over with their always friendly service, delicious coffees and espresso drinks(mmm…breve) which of course pair perfectly with a rugala – a small jewish pastry sort of like a mini, rolled strudel. They are seriously the perfect snack to go along with your coffee, easily pushing this up to a four star review.

I’ll give them 3 stars for now — and will go back and check them out in the future because I think I went in there literally the day after they opened. There was literally NO atmosphere, but again, they probably just weren’t ready for prime time! I got a caramel latte and it was delicious though — and they did have wifi, but I had to ask the girl behind the counter for the password and she«couldn’t remember it» so she had me ask another customer for it … kind of awkward — but I did get online.
