I’ve only been here for lunch, but they have the best prosciutto sandwich I’ve had in a really long time! Going to try dinner there very soon!

This place is a nice and cozy little place a bit loud but I’m ok with it but the food is incredibly tasteful I will definitely come back again so I can enjoy the penne pasta and their toasty hot shrimp appetizer the have are to die for.

We decided to try this restaurant based on glowing reviews on Unilocal. We were disappointed. The food was ordinary, nothing to write home about. Service was so-so, not bad but not very attentive.

Absolutely delicious meal from start to finish. calamari was solid. not the best we’ve had but definitely good enough to get it again. Fried potatoes and long hots were really nicely done. hotsy totsy shrimp is delicious… but be warned they have quite a little kick. clams oreganata were also delicious. with bread you also get interesting marinated carrot slices. couldnt decide if I liked them or not but kept eating them. definitely interesting. the were out of burrata sadly. the margherita pie was delicious… very good sauce. daddys pie also delicious. chicken savoy was pretty good. maybe a tad bit dry but I am just getting picky here to contrast the constant awesomeness. Tiramisu. wow. simply delectable and so light. hazelnut gelato and chocolate mousse also perfect. cant wait to go back. service was great. highly highly recommend… and its BYOB. Oh and nice atmosphere. With parking lot spaces.

The menu is kinda boring and basic but the hot shrimp app is probably the best thing on the menu

We’ve come here for Easter the past two years. Food is always on point and the staff is awesome. They fit right in with our loud crazy family. It’s a little tight inside but the food is so good you won’t even notice.

This place is one of my favorite local restaurants, and my best friend loves it, too. We come here pretty often, because it’s in the center of Livingston. Usually we come here during weekends. We were there once during our lunch break but the service was a little bit too slow so now we come only when we’re not in a hurry. It can be crowded during weekends, as well, but that’s ok, the food is legit so it’s worth it. It has really nice interior, I like simple, but comfortable furniture, with a minimalist vibe. Every time I visit, I order pretty much the same. Their fried calamari is the up there with the best! It’s not too salty and not too oily, and that is really important to me. Its got that good balance that makes you wish you ordered 2. I asked for extra lemon and poured lemon juice all over, because I like the aroma and lemon juice provides a nice contrast to the sodium. You also get some warm, crunchy bread with it. My friend ordered the Parmesan for entrée, so I decided to do the same this time. Usually I go with pizza, which is pure perfection(although I’m used to Domino’s, so pretty much any restaurant level pizza is perfection lol), but why not trying something new? The waiter was pretty cool when suggesting what we should try. He spent a few minutes with us although there were other people there, too(some waiters I’ve had in the past will start to get antsy in these situations), and his suggestion turned out great. Parmesan is your choice of chicken, meatball or eggplant over spaghetti. We asked for spaghetti with meatballs because we were hungry and feeling carnivorous(and chicken is boring, especially when you’ve eaten it all week, thanks gym diet). Meatballs were really tender and juicy. My mom used to make meatballs like that and the taste really reminded me of her and her cooking. Spaghetti wasn’t overcooked — I hate that — but not too raw either. The one drawback, though, was that we waited for our entrees for a while but maybe it just felt long because we were snickers hungry.

Have not dined in, however have had takeout twice. Large orders(trays) for a dinner party. Excellent chicken dishes and pasta. Very accommodating. A great addition to the Livingston under developed dining scene.

3 star restaurant, with the 4th star being for Isen. He really goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and makes coming here a pleasure. In addition, they’ve updated the décor, giving the restaurant a much more vibrant, attractive and welcoming vibe. It’s a little pricy for good, not great local NJ/Italian food. The highlight is the Chicken Savoy, a holdover from Stretch’s – very good rendition that’s just not on par with the Belmont Tavern. The hotsy totsy shrimp Ap is a winner, as are the clams oreganata. The giambota portions are both delicious and very large. I have to admit, I’ve rarely dined in at this location – both when it was Stretch’s and now that it is Marra’s. However, they’ve always done a decent job with takeout. Just be advised, they have a slow kitchen. If it’s a weekend, make sure you order 30 – 60 minutes before you’d expect that you have to. The wait times can be substantial. It’s a BYO. For a parking lot that doesn’t usually get all that crowded, the adjacent businesses are very hokey about letting restaurant patrons park in certain spots. It’s ok to park in certain spots if you’re a shopper. Not ok if you’re a restaurant patron.

Went with a party of nine last night and everything was great. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. Everyone loved their meals,. The veal Marvin was an especially big hit, as was the Cajun calamari appetizer. And portions were huge, we brought half of EVERY meal home.

We were very excited several months ago to find out Anthony Marra’s was opening in the location that another one of our go-to restaurants was located. The first time we went there we were thrilled to see the improvements in the décor. This is a place that is modern and beautifully decorated — a challenge for a fairly small space. Most importantly, we thought the food was outstanding. The menu included some of our favorite dishes from the restaurant that previously was located in this space, plus other items from other Marra restaurants. In particular we love the hot shrimp appetizer, meatballs and the chicken savoy dinner. To be honest, I’m not sure all of these dishes are actually on the menu. This restaurant has snared one of the primo servers in the area — Jason Isen! If you are lucky enough to have Jason serve you, you won’t need to even look at the menu. Jason is expert in suggesting the right dishes. We are never disappointed with his suggestions(and his attention also). We have since visited Marra’s several times and we are still impressed! Livingston needed this restaurant and it’s delicious menu and fabulous service!

We all really liked all the things we had. They were happy to make kid size portions of whatever dish the kids wanted(even if it was not on the menu). Pizza was really good, thin crust and a little well done, which I like. Had a few apps and all were good. Great meatballs and really good clams.

Went there the other night and was happily surprised in 3 ways. First of all the décor was beautiful. Understated and modern. Quite an improvement over what used to be there. Second, the service was attentive, friendly and efficient. And lastly, I thought the food was great and the prices reasonable. Given Livingston’s fairly dismal gastronomic scene, this gem should do quite well. We will be back and soon :) Thank you!

First let me note that every staff member I encountered here seemed vested in this place; it has a true family atmosphere and they want to ensure that you’re happy with your experience. As soon as we were seated we were greeted with warm bread and carrots that(I’m not sure how to describe them) seemed lightly sautéed with garlic. Very nice. I felt that it took slightly longer than what I’d expect to receive our food, but it all fairness to them this place was pretty packed on a Monday at around 5:30… That should tell you something! For a mid-range Italian place the food was great– I’d return here anytime over some of the other options in Livingston like pizzeta or pane vino. Definitely a new go-to. The décor is pretty neat! The entrance is in the rear and there’s plenty of parking in the back also(I made the mistake of trying to go through the front/street entrance). BYOB and they can make a kid sized plate of almost anything on the menu.

Too bad. It seems the 3 previous reviews are friends of the owner. Let’s be honest. The Roseland location was much better. Food was better there too. The restaurant was busy. We had a reservation but weren’t seated for another 45 min after.(we should have left) The service was ok — the waiter couldn’t be understood making it very difficult to ask about the dishes. He also said he will order us a salad in addition to the shrimp we ordered. That was nice, until we later saw it on the bill! We asked the waiter about the hotsy totsy shrimp — he said they were jumbo shrimp and you get 4 pieces. Actually they were med shrimp at best that were butterflied. Not worth $ 12! The portions were modest. Tasty; but certainly NOT worth the price. The atmosphere was pleasant as was the décor. Overall the food was not bad. Not great like ill ripaso or coca bella. Plenty of OTHER restaurants in town that are much better to try. Enjoy
