Meh — went on a Monday evening — not that busy, service very poor. My wife’s salmon overlooked. My pizza — crust overdone while the toppings we’re undercooked. Asked for the check; had to wait, then the waiter tried to sell me some discount coupon — had to DEMAND the check — 2d time like this — Never going back

We had wanted to try this place for a long time and come away very disappointed. Pizzeta struggles to know what type of restaurant they want to be. Are they a bar? Are they family friendly? What is going on here? I’m on the website now where they claim the mantle of ‘casual, cool, hip place for young families’ I’m really confused because the décor is dated and dominated by oversized empty 5L liquor bottles. Service was fine. We were there around 6pm on a Sunday and there were only a few other tables occupied. Food was very mediocre. Daughter had a $ 10 Mac and cheese where they tack on $ 5 for fries. Vodka sauce on pasta was very blah. Thin crust pizza was a 3 out of 10. I knew the prices going in, and was more than willing to pay that with the expectation we were visiting the casual, cool, hip place for young families. Instead it was an overpriced, mediocre meal in a drab, mostly empty, wanna-be bar with basketball on the tv’s. At least the game was entertaining.

You can go there again, NEWMANAGEMENT! The experience was the way it was supposed to be; we were 5 people, family needed a restaurant in the area, and wanted to go here. I had trepidations to say the least, but was so pleasantly surprised. Five people ordered 5 different meals, each was done very well, the service was excellent. The manager came from one of my favorite restaurants, and she is doing a wonderful job. I am so pleased, as it was a pleasant place, and it is again!

Owner seems to understand gluten free but is quite rude. Gluten free pizza was good though their sauce is on the sweet side for my liking and the pie needed to be cooked longer. In addition the caesar salad dressing is absolutely tasteless. Being gluten free I eliminate the croutons so I need the dressing to be on point. In my experience the delivery is typically all mixed up and arrives cold. I placed another order since I was given a credit for my last order since what they delivered was incorrect but at that point I didn’t want them to redeliver. Spoke to the guy who takes the order and was passed on to the owner to help with the credit. I inquired about the ravioli special to the first guy I spoke with and went ahead and ordered it. The owner issued my credit and went back over the order. He mentioned I ordered the pasta special, complained his worker had entered the gluten free pie incorrectly(which either means I would receive a regular wheat pie or he wouldn’t make the extra $ 5) and I agreed the order was correct. When it arrived the special was something that looked absolutely inedible, and not ravioli, but that’s besides the point. Apparently we had received the pasta special which differs from the ravioli special only no one even ever told me what was in the pasta special so how would I know there even was one since technically ravioli is pasta. In any event when I called the owner blamed me since I had agreed to the order when he read it back to me. That is ridiculous since I haven’t memorized their menu nor do I even live around here. I appreciate him being somewhat knowledgable about gluten free food but I won’t be going back there since their food is either hit or tolerable and the owner seems to think it is okay to treat people with blatant disrespect. That and they can’t seem to get it right to save their life. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I come here often. I live in town and this is normally just a place I come to to have a consistently good meal. However, tonight I decided to look into the specials a bit more, as I am generally always having salmon, steak or chicken. I was immediately in love with the roasted pork tenderloin and was so excited to see how it turns out. Furthermore, five minutes goes by and our waitress comes over and says they are out of the pork. I put my head down on the table and instantly become so upset, because I was genuinely looking forward to having something new. She brought me the menu again, as well as the specials and pointed out that the short ribs were really good. I said to her, «you know what? I do really like short ribs.» I also mentioned that things happened for a reason and I am excited, once again. The short ribs came out and let me begin and end by telling you THEYWEREAMAZING. The sides were so great, as well; they complimented the meal so wonderfully. My friend had pumpkin ravioli in a sage crème sauce and he LOVED it. I come a lot, but now I will even come more and look more into the specials. I would even give 10 stars, if I could.

I have given them a few passes for bad food and bad service because I want to like a local Livingston restaurant. I will, however, not be back. I had lunch there recently and ordered pasta with meatballs and ricotta cheese. The pasta was cold and dry(ricotta cheese and a little sauce was mixed together) so I had to track down my waiter for more sauce(I had to get up and find him). The bigger and more significant problem was the meatball. It was cut in half and when I took a bite, it was hardly cooked — I’m talking red and raw meat. Either somebody didn’t see this when they cut it or saw it and didn’t care — either way, not good — does anybody like raw meatballs? The waiter took it back and offered to get me something else. Thanks but no thanks, I will stick to the water. The place looks like nobody cares — or stopped caring a long time ago — sadly, think this is the case.

Used to come here all the time when I worked in the area. Food was always good and the service is decent. I was in Livingston for an errand last night and decided to stop in for dinner since I was with a friend who is gluten free and I recalled Pizzeta having a generous GF menu. I used to always order the vegetariana panini because it’s made with their basil mayo which is AMAZING. I’d literally dip anything into that stuff, it’s so good. However, I was also craving pizza so I did what any logical food lover would do: I ordered the melanzane pizza for dinner and a vegetariana panini to go so I could eat it for lunch the following day(of course, I asked for an extra side of basil mayo for French fry dipping). The pizza was delicious. Probably could’ve been slightly crispier in the crust but the toppings and flavors were on point. My friend ordered the ziti pizza which they made with gluten free penne and crust. She was also very happy with her pizza, but agreed the crust could’ve been crispier. I ate my panini at work today and I’m happy to report, it’s just as good as it was a few years ago. If only they would bottle and sell that basil mayo! A girl can dream.

I try so very hard to like this place… and I have wanted to write a review for the last 5 bad experiences… but I always felt a little badly about the whole thing. I like to support local businesses… but my last outing there put me over the edge. I came in on a very quiet Monday. Only a few tables were patronized… wait staff gossiped amongst themselves… I ordered the DiNapoli salad… as I have done a dozen times. It came out in record time! Wow, you say… that’s great, you exclaim. But was it? Um no…*shakes head violently*…I looked down to see a shade of beige on my lettuce… that would drive a farmers market merchant to cringe all the way to central Jersey. I alert my bored server to alert her to my limp pathetic wilted mess of a plate. «Oh that’s just the dressing» she says… «Take a bite», I say… she declines, methodically… as if this wasn’t her first rodeo on the«lets use old lettuce and she’ll never know» pony. *drops mic*…

This place is hit or miss hence the three star review. I’ve had times where the food was pretty poor and others where I found it to be great. I’d give them a higher rating if it was more consistent.

Detoured in Livingston. Some crazy accident on the I-280 East and the Trooper told me 3 – 4 hours to clear … so much traffic! Trying to find an alternate route and discovered Pizzeta! Enjoyed the Di Casa insalata and my special request for Linguini pasta with a spicy red sauce and steamed vegetables! Added a tad more crushed red pepper … delicious! Finishing now with an espresso and then back on the road. Cheers!

Wow, this place has really declined since I was last there a couple of years ago. The room needs a refresh. It is looking quite tired. The service was rather uninterested in your dining experience. The food was entirely uninspired. We shared the rice ball(arancini) and the Caesar salad to start. The rice ball here used to be fluffy and wonderful, in a beautifully vibrant marinara sauce. This latest visit had us share a leaden, gigantic and rather mediocre tasting version in a sauce that I did not want more of. The Caesar salad had no life to it. It was almost like eating romaine lettuce with no dressing. Yuck. One of us had the buffalo chicken pizza, which used to be far better. I had a special of farfalle with shrimp, chicken sausage, asparagus and peas in a garlic and oil sauce. It should have been far tastier than it actually was, and the shrimp were overlooked. Our server also took his sweet old time processing my credit card payment. We will not return any time soon. Sad that places go downhill like this.

Restaurant choices in Livingston can be spotty. Evidence of this is the longevity or lack thereof of many local eateries. Places that I thought were pretty damn good have gone out, replaced by places that may or may not be their equal. In this myriad of confusion is Pizzeta. The food and service are consistently good, even when there is a wait it moves quickly and they have a fireplace. Is Pizzeta, outstanding? No or I would have awarded them the coveted 5th Star. Would I travel a long distance to eat there? The answer again is no. But if you are looking to enjoy a nice meal in a nice restaurant, it may just be for you. Worth mentioning is their mozzarella selection. It’s varied and outstanding. You can choose one of several varieties or order a mixed platter of them all. I eat at Pizzeta several times per month and truly enjoy it. A solid local favorite in a town that is missing a lot of solid local favorites.

I’d give this place 3 ½ stars if I could. I like the atmosphere and décor, and the food is pretty good, with occasional specials which are sometimes excellent. Service is ok, and I never had a truly bad or disappointing meal, and have been there about six times. It’s not a truly authentic Italian restaurant, but it’s good. I would not go for a «special» occasion. We usually go as a last minute decision on a weeknight when we want something better than average. I think it’s very solid, but not outrageously great or anything. Definitely worth trying.

This place is terrible! I’ve been there 4 or 5 times. The wait staff couldn’t care less about your dining experience. Also Is this dump a singles bar or a restaurant? they play this horrible loud music all the time. When I asked the waiter if we could move to get away from the music, he said, no, it’s the same volume in the entire restaurant. Will never go there again.

Will never go back. Management is extremely cocky, waiters forgot to bring out two meals at our table and told us, after we asked twice, that they were coming. Clearly they forgot to put our order in. The worst was when I cut my sons burger in half, there was a huge piece of cooked plastic in the middle.(Picture to prove it). Cocky manager said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do about it because he didn’t do it. Disaster. Never again.

Yummy grilled sandwiches served with fries that arrive to the table well presented. The portions are not too big… I hate when. Restaurant gives enough food for 3people. So I think their niche is salads, panini, and fries. O&Pizza

My wife ordered the blackened chicken ceaser salad last week and asked me to pick it up on my way home from work. I was beyond disgusted to see what was going on in the kitchen — One of the cooks was preparing food for customers was eating a salad WITHHISHANDS at the same time. Unfortunately for me, i didn’t notice this until after I had paid. At that point I knew the food was going in the garbage and was so disgusted I just needed to get out of there. I would advise caution before visiting this place.

Overall a 1 due to the awful service we had with the manager on duty, but food only I’ll give it a 3.5. I’ve been to Pizzetta 3 times, but the third was the last. The manager on duty during our last visit could not have been any more obnoxious and rude. There was a price mis-print on one of the menus and he more or less mocked us for assuming the price was correct when we received our check. He unwillingly honored the mis-printed price and then docked pay from the poor server(we saw him walk over to her and say it loud enough for half the restaurant to hear). We gave her a very large tip to make up for it and then some. Suffice it to say I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior by a restaurant manager. Simply mind boggling. If I was the owner and knew my management was acting this way I would be fuming. No rhyme or reason here and I hope the owner reads this. The way you treat your customers has a ripple effect larger than you can imagine. If it weren’t for that one incident, we would be regulars, but oh well. Needless to say we have already passed this message on to all of our friends in the area.

We have been eating here for years since moving to the area. There is such inconsistency in both the food and service so it makes reviewing the restaurant a bit tough. For a great take-out option, the large pizzas and salads made to order are great. They have a whole wheat crust option, lots of choice toppings, real mushrooms(a must if it a pizza place is worth any muster), and fast preparation from ordering to pick-up! Every now and then, the crust isn’t quite as crispy but overall, a nice option for thin crust in the area. The chicken paillard and salmon with white beans and escarole are solid entrée options. The dining in experience though really leaves you wondering. The pizza crust triangles in the bread basket are habitually cold and doughy. Service is spotty. Food is hit or miss and pizzas can only be ordered in personal pizzeta size at the table. The liquor license/full bar is a nice feature of this kid-friendly place so it caters to a wide variety of diners. Given the tabs for the food, though, we just prefer to take ours to go since there are other places around to dine out for better food and service. PS the whole wheat ½ melanzane ½ poggio(grilled eggplant and mushroom) is by far our favorite pizza!
