I can only imagine that this place is called Stretch’s because it is a stretch to call it a good restaurant. If you like long waits for food, indifferent service, kitschy décor, absentee management, and lackluster food then you might like Stretch’s. I personally felt like I was in an episode of Restaurant Impossible. That Bottle King is next door to this BYOB is a good thing since Stretch’s gives you plenty of time to shop while you wait for your dinner. I don’t think I have been to restaurant that was that was so inept in all areas.

I wish I had a better rating for this place because the service was really good. The food was OK. My husband got their famous Chicken Savoy which tasted like it was just drowned in balsamic vinegar. It was terrible. I got the zuppa di clams in a white wine sauce which was good. Bread was hard but the dipping concoction they made was tasty. It’s an average hometown BYOB restaurant but nothing spectacular or over the top that makes you want to return from an eating or atmosphere aspect.

This was my first trip back to Stretch’s in a couple years and my favorites(Stretch’s salad and Chicken Murphy) are still very good. Prices seem high — the salad was around $ 10 although it was definitely enough for at least 2 people. The Chicken Murphy was around $ 17, and I took home enough for lunch tomorrow. I was surprised at how empty the restaurant was… just 3 other tables on a Thursday night…

I’ve been going to Stretch’s for years. I know my name is Stretch but I am not the owner. The similarity in names led one of my friends to tell me about Stretch’s. I usually only go there with friends but last night I brought my company there for our holiday party. Every person there loved it! Even though we showed up a good 60 minutes early we were promptly greeted and seated. The pasta, muscles and especially the chicken is off the charts. No more than 5 minutes would go by without a staff member or owner asking if all was good. The owner’s daughter Carla made every one of my employees feel like they were family. Stretch’s is BYOB and there is a Bottle King right next to it. This restaurant has tremendous atmosphere, which is important if you’re looking for a great dining experience. If you want to eat and run go to McDonald’s. If you are looking for quality food and portions while saving money you need to go to Stretch’s! (A word of advice to Unilocalers who complain about service: When you tip people and treat them nicely they will tend to give you better service)

this is the third time I’ve been there in 7 years. It will also be the last. chicken savoy on the bone the driest chicken i’ve ever had. the service, the owners daughter, was non-existent. The other server had to pick up the slack, hopefully they pool their tips. I think they are living on their past.

Since I was a little boy I remember my parent’s bringing me home Chicken Savoy from Stretch. Now 20 something years later, the recipe still holds its weight to this day. Had an order of this the other night, it was juicy, meaty, fall-off the bone savory taste that I remember from my youth. I ate a large order in one sitting, no joke. I still want more but I will wait until I return. I can’t tell you about much of the other food, but it will be hard to try anything else for me, because the savoy is, just that good!

Great chicken savoy and chicken murphy. Also like the stretch’s special salad — 1 is enough for 2 people. Canoli for desert also very good. Chicken is consistently good!

Stretches is definitely a great place, but I could really go either way on it. The prices don’t seem to bad when you look at the menu, but what you don’t realize on your first visit is that nothing comes with pasta. So if you want pasta with your Chicken Parm it would cost you like 18 bucks as opposed to the 13 it shows on the menu. Its also a pretty small place, so if you go on a weekend be prepared to wait. They once offered to put me in the back room instead, so I figured why not, turns out they dont typically keep the heat on high back there, so they said they would turn it on, and it would be warm in about 30 – 40 minutes. Not really very helpful, since it was like 50º in there. With the bad stuff out of the way I will move on the the good. The portions are pretty good, I have never been able to finish my meal. The food is also very good quality, so I can’t complain about that. Also they are BYOB so that helps keep the bill down. They do have ice buckets to bring over to your table for your bottle of wine and will provide you with as many glasses as you need. I would definitely recommend check the place out of you don’t mind the prices, because they are worth it. I would also recommend checking them out during the week instead of weekends.
