Food is super good. Decently priced and good portions. The spinokotopia is a bit greasy. The service was horrendous. As a server I can tell you it’s not hard to get a good too from me. This guy was the worst ! The busser on the other hand brought the food out, checked on us, asked if we wanted extra bread and was there more than the actual server. Manager is really nice but service is a big thing to me. If I can’t enjoy a night out I won’t be back.

This place provided horrible service. Ended up walking out after 25 minutes of not having our order taken.

This is a new restaurant, I think the reviewers I read here were unfortunate to feel the growing pains, as it’s certainly not the experience we had. This restaurant impressed us. It’s all new, with pleasant décor. We started with thick cut warm fresh bread, I had the trio(greek lasagna, spinach pie and an eggplant dish), all of which were delicious. My wife had the lamb chops, which were cooked perfectly and excellent. We even had deserts, key lime pie and baklava, which were also good, not too rich, but very flavorful. The service was friendly, attentive and fast. It was a great experience, including the reasonable prices. The location off 7 mile on victor parkway gets off the main streets and traffic, kind of set back in a quieter area, which is also nice. Give it a shot, if you tried before, really, it’s worth trying again if you like greek.

I love this place. I am staying nearby and have been eating here for 1 or 2 meals for the past 11 days. Always at least lunch if not dinner as well. I’ve tried a lot of items on the menu. Food: The following items are incredible; Lamb & potatoes, peas or green beans(3 times at least), Chicken or Lamb Gyros(3 times), Stuffed grape leaves(apptizr) w/lemon sauce(every time), Spinach Salad w/chicken, Big Daddy’s Salad, Greek Sausage(apptizr), Grilled Octopus tentacle(so good, looks exactly how you might fear, not for the weaklings) The lamb entrée was easily the best I’ve ever had. Succulent Stuffed grape leaves I like more than any I’ve ever tried(more meaty then rice) Only gripe is that compared to the rest of the menu, the salad with iceburg or romaine is substandard, the spinach salad is pretty great! Grilled chicken in the gyros is great, the shaved meat is dang good. They do cover it in onions and tomatoes so if you do not like those things, ask for it on the side. Service: Amazing. Really nice folks, kind, thoughtful. Hostesses were great and seemed to have the right attitude as well as the servers. The servers were solid, thoughtful and courteous. On one lunch occasion my server apologized for both my lamb and appetizer being ready at the same time(which was very fast, not a long wait) Price: You get what you pay for… it is not the cheapest place for dinner, but you can see where those extra couple of bucks go when you get not only the quantity, but the quality as well. The lunch menu prices are on par with any sit down restaurant. What you will be impressed by is the quality and quantity of your meal and service. I travel around the country weekly for the past 5 years. Dining out is rarely a pleasure anymore, but New Big Daddy’s made me feel welcomed and I always left full with a smile on my face and money left in my pockets.

Ok I’m updating so soon because right after I slammed them my parents took us here for brunch– surprise! As we headed over I surmised this was our destination and my husband gave me the fish eye in the rearview mirror. We did not say anything to my parents because hey, they were paying and its their pick. Well brunch was a big success. Attentive service and plentiful tasty food including things my husband actually appreciated too. Wha? Yep. It worked. I just was happy no one seemed to recognize me from Unilocal.I had not intended to return for dine in. On the buffet was delicious baked lamb, fork tender so it flaked off the bones. Really tasty chunks of ham. Awesome cheese filled blintzes served with blueberries in juice, do not skip those. Bacon that was still floppy that thrilled my husband, great flavor. Spanokopita that worked despite it sitting around a bit. Green beans and peas cooked in tomatoes that were quite happy. They also had a ton of fresh cut fruit that was pleasing, especially the pineapple and strawberries. Those were the shiny star items for me. They have a ton of other stuff too, eggs, sausage, breakfast sweet items, chicken, pastitsio, moussaka, greek meatballs, rice, potatoes… I could go on and on. There is also a sweets table and salad with dressings. I’m sure something for everyone. Best part? It was like 11.95 and drinks were included(coffee, tea, soft drinks). Steal. Apparently my parents come for lunch quite often and have never had any of the problems my husband and I did. So I guess its strictly a dinner issue? Regardless I can personally recommend Sunday brunch. Bargain, not crowded a bit and good service. Get there early though as they fill those trays up and they are not terribly busy, so later it might not be as stellar. So still a 2 star for dinner but I am kicking it up to a 4 for the bargain brunch buffet alone.

My family and I ate here a couple of nights ago and couldn’t have been more impressed. Everything was fresh, service was excellent. Lamb shanks were tender and flavorful. Their Greek salad dressing was probably the best I’ve ever had. Fantastic overall dining experience, with reasonable prices. Can’t wait to come back!

Food — I ordered the spaghetti because they have way too many styles of food on their menu; from Italian, to American, to finally Greek. The spaghetti looked like vomit on a plate. Was difficult to eat and needless to say did not take home the left overs. Environment — The outside and inside looks very nice and had an upscale look to it like you would have a nice date at a restaurant there. Too bad the food couldn’t match it. Service — The waiter was friendly but was not attentive at all. Never got any refills on drinks or water. We finished our food, the table was completely bussed in front of us, and then we waited for over 10 minutes for our check. We had to ask the hostess to find our waiter for the check. I do not recommend eating here at all.

There was four in our group and we decided to taste a few apps as well as order lunch. We had saganaki, grilled sausage, cold & hot octopus. The sausage & cheese was typical Greek and fine. The grilled octopus was under done and the cold octopus salad was terrible. It looked like a type of hash, definitely not octopus salad. I think that it was previously frozen and lost some of its texture and flavor. For lunch a Greek salad w/chicken was ordered and the greens were less than fresh. The gyro sandwich was fair. The lamb meat could have been cut in larger slices and browned more, the pita was fresh, but it was just OK. The pastichio and lamb chops were also ordered, there were no complaints but again they were just fair. Overall I wouldn’t return unless the reviews get better.

The chicken meat balls as an appetizer were great, but they are really not balls but patties — they’re still very good. I had the Reganto(lamb shank and rice) and it was very good. We were a party of six and two people ordered burgers and they said they were just ok. Another person ordered the«Traverse City Salad and said it was bad. So from my food it was a 3*, but overall for the group I had to rate 2* The lesson is —stay with the Greek stuff.

WORST customer service. We live 25 min away and went to pick up a carry out. Before pulling out of the parking lot, we checked the order and it was wrong. We got all the way home come to find out they forgot our salad dressing. I called and asked to have my credit card credited and they told me they couldn’t do that, which is a total lie. The OWNER who was beyond rude said next time I would get a free salad. When I said I wasn’t coming back(due to distance and the food was gross anyways) he said don’t come back and slammed the phone down. They will be out of business soon!!!

Well, it looks like the bugs are NOT yet worked out. Truly disappointing, because we heard decent things about this place. First, I walked up to the hostess stand. The hostess was talking on a personal call(I could hear every word as she made plans for later that night) and stood with her back to me for about 3 minutes, turning once to look at me and then turning back again. When she finally got off of the phone, she stood there another minute or two with her back toward me. She finally turned around, and barked at me «Can I help you?» Should have left then… 20 minutes later(not a terrible wait time for a Saturday) we were seated. However, the tables were moved so closely together that two folks from the party next to ours were nearly sitting in my kids’ laps! Should have left then, but still stuck around… As we sat there, the busboy taking care of the section slammed into my chair 3 times — HARD! Of course not a word saying excuse me, or I’m sorry, or anything at all… In his defense, he was also working hard — Visited the table behind us at least 5 – 6 times to refill water, bring bread, etc… Again, should have left. 15 minutes later, the waiter comes over to take our drink order. In his defense, he was incredibly busy. I could see him working on at least 3 other large tables, one of which had about 10 people at it. We placed our drink order, asked for water, and he left to get it. 20 minutes later, the drinks finally come. No water, no bread, no ANYTHING. I asked him, and he said that the guy with them was«right behind him». We placed our appetizer order, and he went back to waiting on the next table. After ANOTHER10 minutes(45 minutes in, now…) he walked by the table, and I flagged him down. He said that the appetizer should be around shortly. Asked for the water, and he again said«He’s right behind me». Given that we were now 40+ minutes in and hadn’t even placed our dinner order, we gave up and asked for the check. He apologized profusely, and I told him that it certainly didn’t appear that it was his fault — that he just needed more help. He called over the busboy — Remember my friend«Crash»? — and started screaming at him that he had asked 3 times for water and bread for our table. The busboy didn’t have an answer as to why it still wasn’t there… And we finally headed for the door. On the way out, I stopped back at the hostess stand to ask to talk to the manager. The hostess said — I swear to you, this is EXACTLY what she said — «He’s too busy to talk with you right now.» I told her that everyone was too busy, and that was why we were leaving. She shrugged her shoulders and turned her back. I guess I should have seen that coming! Will we go back? I really think not. And it’s a shame, because the owner has a good reputation in the area. However, this time, the folks that he hired really, really missed the mark.

Stopped for Lunch 7÷31÷12. Lots of Parking, clean inside, seems to be upscale dinning from the look of the inside. So I keep it simple… Cup of Chicken Lemon rice soup, Daddy«Jim» sandwich, with fries. They drop a basket of Greek bread at the table. No pats of butter… I have to ask one of the young bus boys for butter. My Chicken Lemon Rice soup comes to the table. NO Crackers… so I proceed to crack pieces of Breads to act as a cracker material. No one stops by to see how everything is so far. Now the sandwich arrives. Looks great, any thing you need… yes could I have some mustard. Well apparently NOT… it took 10 minutes as she said… Oh I forgot your mustard. AND one more thing… the thin french fries… Like the potato shoe string potatoes you get in the bags. about 1⁄8 inch thick… too thin to poke with a fork… too skinny to pick up and dip in ketchup just kind of awkward to eat. Good taste just not easy to eat. I’ll try again, they are newly opened but lets work on things and get it together.

This place is close to the office — possibly walking distance, but is seems no-one in michigan walks anywhere! It has a nice seating area, pleasant staff, lots of parking and definitely an extensive menu. Unfortunately for me, when I said dressing on the side our waiter forgot. So my spinach salad which looked amazing came swimming in so much dressing it wilted the spinach. I’m not a fan of sending my meals back, I don’t trust what would happen to the second plate! So I ate it, when the waiter asked how our meals were I said it was just ok, and he said just ok, and I said yes, I wanted the dressing on the side, to which he said, oh I forgot. On the up side, my coworkers, 4 out of the 8 all got the lamb and it looked amazing and they all cleaned their plates! So, some work still needs to be done, and I’m sure we’ll return next time I’m in town at the office. I

This is a nice restaurant with an extensive Greek menu. You can find it by turning left on the first street past I-275 going east on 7 mile. If you turn too early you end up on the highway, so be careful. New Big Daddy’s has plenty of parking, and you can always choose valet if you’re too good to park your own car. The restaurant itself is nice, new and clean. The service is quick and friendly, and the menu has plenty of Greek and American options. Most things on the menu are between $ 7-$ 16 with the exception of some of the pricier steak and seafood options. I looks like you can subtract $ 3 from those prices if you show up for lunch. We went there the second day that it was open and tried the saganaki(OPA!), lemon chicken soup, bbq chicken salad, beef shish kebob, and dessert. The saganaki was glorious, as pan fried cheese well should be. The lemon chicken soup had generous chunks of chicken and rice in a thick creamy soup. The BBQ salad comes without lettuce, but is tasty and crunchy. The beef shish kebob was made perfectly medium, and came with some baked peas and boiled potatoes with red sauce. Finally, for dessert we had chocolate truffle mousse, which was as delicious as it sounds. We’ll definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the menu. PS. Another reviewer accused me of being the owner for providing directions in my review. That is not the case, the restaurant is not on a main road and it is a bit tricky getting there if you don’t know the area.
