I am a Lockhart native, and my hubby is from Luling. Roy has the best BBQ! I love the BBQ taco, and my hubby enjoys the tender brisket, sausage, and yummy sauce. The fifteen minute drive to R & G is very worth it.

Live this local place. Good BBQ and authentic atmosphere. Roy’s super nice too!

The place looks like an old general store. The brisket is very good and tender. The sausage seemed a bit over-cooked, and wasn’t that good. The outside was just too crunchy. They don’t serve ribs or other exotic meets. They do server burgers and a variety of chili’s, but I didn’t try them. I liked the brisket enough to recommend people to stop here, but not enough to make it a road trip, unless you really just want to try all the old places for reference.

Excellent BBQ brisket & grilled hamburgers. Quaint little town. Roy… the«R» in R & G’s is an interesting character. Opens for lunch Wednesday to Saturday. Roy once worked at City Market in Luling and later worked in Houston’s «City Market». Most Friday evenings, the locals gather at R&G’s to play dominoes.
