A very, very short history: Tim Horton’s was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, by Canadian hockey player Tim Horton and Jim Charade. In 1967, Horton partnered with investor Ron Joyce, who assumed control over operations after Horton died in 1974. Tim Horton’s franchises spread rapidly and eventually overtook McDonald’s as Canada’s largest food service operator. The company opened twice as many Canadian outlets as McDonald’s. On August 26, 2014, Burger King agreed to purchase Tim Horton’s for US$ 11.4 billion. Timmy Ho’s(a local nickname) is offering 2 of their breakfast sandwiches for 4.00 so we decided to go for breakfast. I ordered 2 sausage sandwiches on an English muffins. They delivered 1 sausage and 1 bacon. OOPS. I also got a medium English toffee cappuccino. My wife got a donut and a hot chocolate. All of her order arrived right. All told, with my senior discount, breakfast cost 6.96. Too bad they got the order wrong. That being said, they get a 7.0 out of 10. Getting the order right is one of the things that can make or break a restaurant, franchise or not.

This is a decent Tim Hortons. Nothing is exceptional about it, although their staff has always been friendly, if a bit slow. If you can, avoid this location during peak hours. The line for the drive-thru will be huge and going inside isn’t much better. However, this location has a ton of seating and is good for studying(if you have earphones) and an easy spot to agree on for meetings/interviews. It’s also close to most of the«shopping» in Lockport, so it’s nice to get a caffeine boost before running errands.

I prefer to purchase my goods from Timmy Ho’s on Transit by Tops in Lockport. Actually, any location is better than the Transit and Genesee St location as is horrible. The cashiers working there are rude and actually said, «Whatever…» to us when we asked for our coffee they forgot to give us. Grabbing the money out of my sister’s hand like a snake. I wouldn’t doubt if she just pocketed it for herself. I had found a fingernail in my iced capp several years ago from this location. I was hoping service would have improved by now, but apparently not. Good luck with that.

While in Lockport, I decided to stop for coffee and donuts. What better place than Tim Hortons. I have no reason to find criticism, as the donut case was fully stocked with fresh donuts and the coffee was as fresh as any Tim Hortons that I’ve ever stopped at. The guy that was working behind the counter waited on me right away and was very nice and attentive. What more could you ask for except if you’re expecting a freebie. I would definitely visit here again.

Horton Hears a HOOT! HOOT! I cant say enough about Tim Hortons! They have everything bagels with just about everything in them. I hear there coffee is great, but I hate coffee. It makes my stomach upset, and my Gramma says its not good for you. She worries it will make me addicted, but my kids love it. And the donuts. PS — Why does every stupid driver seem to be on his way to Tim Horton’s???
