Besides being slow, Lodi Popeye is very clean. The chicken was very tender and juicy inside and crispy outside. The bisques were delicious and buttery. Staff was working hard. I would definitely go there again.

Service was horrible. Cashier was dumb as a box of rocks. Chicken was over cooked and dry, mashed potatoes did not even taste like mashed potatoes. Also way way over priced. Cost my family of 3 $ 32 to eat! Could of went somewhere much nicer for $ 30! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Today was the fifth time I went to this Popeyes. You would think I would’ve learned by now. The employees sound like they don’t want to be there when we pull up. I ordered the shrimp po’boy and it was the third time they made it with chicken instead of shrimp. Last time I took a friend and they said they would bring the order out front in eight min. We waited out front for 25 min. When I walked in to ask they told me they forgot then handed me the meals. I’m done trying in with this place.

The service here is bad! I asked for cups with ice with my gallon of lemonade and the manager told the girl to give me water cups no ice! I ordered a eight piece meal .They did not give butter with the biskets or did they give me honey! I asked the girl for sauce, when I asked what types they had, she just turned away and acted like I was a pain in her but! It is a shame for the big investment of a nice place and get bad results! This crew needs to go to In and Out Burger and see how to treat people!

I can actually say with a straight face i have never seen incompetence like this in a national fast food store before. I was only doing a quick drive thru tonight and i generally don’t review things like that but i just had to share this experience. I do hit Popeyes in other locations infrequently and ordered 2 meals one of which i didnt see on the drive up menu, a shrimp po boy… Simple. I drove up to the window and the girl asks if it is okay that it will take 5 min since they do not have the shrimp ready or would i prefer a chicken po boy. I was in a little hurry so i went with the chicken. And then got asked to park in front since they didnt have the chicken po boy ready and it would take a few minutes… huh? So i park in front and 4 – 5 min later, the girl brings me a bag of food, nice, apologizes for the wait. Ok cool. Then someone comes running out and grabs the bag and switches some of the boxes right out of her hand. Huh? I get back to my hotel room and then find i have mashed potaties and red beans and rice as i ordered but no utensils to eat them with and a chicken po boy where the chicken is cold. WTF?

I came here for Dinner and it was super slammed! I was still greeted with smiles. I used to work in the restaurant business for 8 years so I understand the frustration… Isabel the manager took control and heard her encouraging the staff. Yesenia was first person I saw but couldnt figure out what to order, she helped me pick what suited what I was looking for(Surf N Turf). Patty assisted me right away when I asked for sauces and took my order as well! Thank you Popeyes and keep up the good work. Overall outstanding service THANKYOU! :)

Awful service, The drive thru had me wait 30 minutes because they didn’t have biscuits ready. When It became 30 minutes I went in and they were so confused. I got my order but there was no Biscuit and it was cold. They Suck

Quick and fast service. Would have given 5 stars if the drive through girl(the one with an excessive amount of makeup on) had smiled even once at me. The food tasted fresh and the place seemed really clean.

They’ve worked out the kinks and this place runs like a well oiled machine. Their chicken is not well oiled, however — only juicy, delicious, and cooked to perfection. Sometimes well go get a box of biscuits to use for brunch. We frequently leave this place with a gallon of delicious tea, even though it is a bit expensive.

After waiting 20 minutes in the parking lot for my food with a screaming toddler I arrived home to find out one of the 3 meals I ordered wasn’t even included in my bag. Not only could I have driven to another franchise and fed my child and gotten home in that 20 minutes. I’m positive I would have actually gotten the food I paid for. The kids meal I ordered was incorrect as well, I asked for chicken nuggets and got chicken strips that were just torn apart. This is completely unacceptable. I can’t believe I can’t even get a hold of anyone at the restaurant. I tried to call to alert management but no one answered the phone. I realize that food service is a thankless job, however I do expect to get the food I paid for. Thanks for basically stealing my money.

I was a bit skeptical about trying this Popeyes location because there never seems to be much traffic or business there, but I’ve never eaten at a Popeyes so I thought I’d give it a try. I had a Po Boy sandwich and chicken nuggets. The sandwich was crispy with some nice fried pickles included. The chicken nuggets or coated in some kind of sauce before they were deep fried, which give them a nice spicy edge. Both of them were absolutely excellent. I will efinitely will go back

BAD first experience. I went here when they first opened but excused their lack of management skills because it was new. Since they opened our KFC has closed and now if we want chicken we, unfortunately, have to go here. I saw on their menu online that there was a coupon for a 5 pc meal with 2 sides for $ 8.99 but when I wanted to order it I was unable to because I had the wrong location/not printed coupon. So instead they gave me a 4c meal with 1 side and the price was $ 9.50! Their butterfly garlic shrimp was advertised at $ 4.99 but when I went there it was a dollar more. After all that, they didn’t even give us forks, for a drive thru order! When I got home, the food was so bad. Their cajun rice is spicy rice with beef in it?! I brought the chicken to my boyfriend for is lunch and he is now sick from it. Never going here again! I would much rather drive to the next town to get KFC.

When my wife and I lived in Modesto, I would go out of my way to purchase Popeye meals. They were reasonably priced and always tasty — just the right amount of cajun style seasoning to reproduce Louisiana style fare, but not enough to overpower. When we learned that Popeye’s was opening a new branch in Lodi, where we now reside, we were thrilled. However, our first meal was quite disappointing; it just seemed to lack the qualities that the Mo Town food possessed. Yesterday, my wife picked up a to go meal for me(she had already eaten at her work). Looking forward to the treat, but still wary of the first encounter at the new location, I was excited when she arrived with the sack. The fish was dry and virtually tasteless. Had I been blindfolded, I could not have identified the meat. Nothing like Popeye’s has provided in the past. The biscuit was overly sweet and sugary, certainly not like any Southern kitchen should produce. The cole slaw was, to their credit, edible, but not really outstanding. Verdict: We will return to Popeye’s in a year to see if management has changed or if present leadership finally realizes that the restaurant needs major food quality improvement. Sad… Corporate management needs to spend more time reviewing its franchises and less money on television ads touting how authentic the food is…

If you like having your order wrong three times, being served by people who don’t know how to say thank you or you’re welcome, and having to wait for your food only to have it old and dry then this is the popeyes for you. However If you don’t like that in a restaurant it may be best to avoid this popeyes. It may be fast food but if I’m going to pay for the food they advertise I expect the same quality. Not going back again.

DRIVETHROUGH: Popcorn shrimp is delicious! Fresh and crunchy! The mashed potatoes are flavorful, maybe too spicy for small children. The bread was still steamy! Yum! You got 4 stars because I had to wait in the parking lot for my food. P. S. The buffalo sauce was the best buffalo sauce I’ve had at a chain restaurant.

My first time at this location. Went today for a quick lunch bite. A little disappointed, no tea made sweeted or unsweetened,(I am trying to drink less soda) no fries made and I felt like it would be an inconvenience to make some«it will take 3 minutes, could you choose another side, maybe beans or mashed potatoes?» I chose cole slaw, which is fine, better for me than fries anyway right? The food was hot, and I ate it, but thought they should be a little more prepared so close to lunch time. Maybe they don’t get a lunch rush? All in all, it was a short encounter and my hunger is satisfied so they get 4 stars today.

Very dissatisfied. Kfc is no longer in Lodi so I tried Popeyes. Couldn’t get to the thin pieces of chicken through all the batter. The flavor of the rice & beans was good but hardly any rice in the large container & I couldn’t eat the green beans. Have no idea how they could mess those up. The price also is high for what you get. If it had been good I wouldn’t have minded the price. Don’t think I’ll go back.

Eating Popeyes is always a fun thing to do. The chicken is always moist and delicious. The bash potatoes and gravy are very flavorful and enjoyable. The store was none of the last enjoyable. The chicken was great staff was great and I had an additional mac & cheese which was outstanding. The store was clean and the stuff was clean and very friendly. This would be a great spot to just check in and grab a quick bite to eat.

NO biscuts the first time I tried DT. NO Dr. Pepper on the second try at DT. TODAY. NO regular drinks at all. I’m sorry sir we only have diet drinks. ALL3 times I backed out of DT. I love Popeyes and want to support this local location. Too bad I own 2 local restaurants and I’m happy to see the competition screw up so badly.

Today my family was eating at one of our favorite chicken places Popeyes of course I have 4 kids one of which decided she wants to spill her drink. At first when I went up there I was handed paper towels but then after persistent asking for assistance, one of the employees turn to another employee and I told him to clean it up. He cleaned it without complaint even apologizing to us for the inconvenience. So today my stars are for Jose! Thank you for your assistance and going the extra mile!

Crazy enough, this was my first time at popeyes. It’s right off I-99 off of Kettleman Ln. I went through the drive-thru. I was craving chicken wings, and I wanted to try their chicken wings. If you just want chicken wings, each wing comes with a biscuit. In my opinion, it might be a better option than getting a meal with a side. So I got the spicy chicken wing but it’s not that spicy. There’s a slight kick but it I assure you that it won’t burn the roof of your mouth. The chicken wings are slightly smaller than I would like but it wasn’t bad. It wasn’t too salty or anything. As for the biscuit, it was delicious. It was so buttery. I bet they slaughter it with lard or butter, so it’s probably nothing close to healthy for you. But if you’re getting fried chicken at popeyes, I am sure you’re not out there to eat healthy. I also had another opportunity to try the other sides. I think their french fries are really good, I like their seasoning on it. As for the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, they are just mediocre. I probably would just opt for the fries, chicken wings + biscuits.

I wasn’t sure about this location, given the reviews. It hasn’t been open very long, but I can also say that about the Manteca location and my visits didn’t turn out all that well. Still, it’s close to SR99, and that was important as we were on the way to Sacramento and wanted to temporarily avoid the traffic and the lunch crowd at more popular places toward the west of town. Some people in front of us couldn’t seem to make a decision. That’s easy with so many items. We ordered from the combos – I got strips and my buddy ordered real pieces of chicken. The person behind the counter was friendly and asked the correct questions, and even gave us the cups for our drinks. It took a while for the food. I suspect that the chicken was sitting in bins. At noon, it should have been in bins, and yet, fresh. Putting side items into cups isn’t a great skill. Still, it took a while. They called the number and I retrieved the food, and they put napkins on the tray. When I returned to the table, I was looking for the forks, and they forgot those. I know that it’s a eat-with-your-fingers place, but seriously, imagine my steering wheel caked with cajun rice. The food was good, but not particularly hot. I think the staff needs re-training.

If I could go less than one star I would. Last week went to this place while I was at work. It was five minutes before their posted close time and they had already locked the doors but still had folks in the waiting room and were serving folks in the drive thru. Because of the nature of my job I can’t go through the drive through especially with my supervisor sitting right there. Long story short, two EMS workers were refused service during normal posted business hours. Both myself and my coworker will never visit this place again on or off duty.

Since this is a new establishment, they should get their act together because they have something to prove against the other places we all regularly go to in town! I am a fan of Popeye’s in general. But this location was a huge disappointment. We did not place a difficult order today. But somehow they managed to forget the sides for the family meal. Switch orders on the butterfly shrimp and popcorn shrimp. And offered no sauces to us. How am I supposed to eat fried chicken and fried shrimp dry? I could choke on the dry breading! Worst part, they ran out of fries. I’m sorry, but you’re a fast food restaurant. I’m going to guarantee people want fries with their fried food. It’s how America rolls. You should never run out of fries! It wasn’t overly busy when we were there either. Not enough to screw up on orders and run out of product. Make sure you check your order! Learn from the other reviews! The food isn’t amazing enough for the hassle of 2 trips to correct the original order. And it’s not cheap either. You’re usually running $ 20 for 2 people at least. Last time I’m going to come here. They left a bad first impression.

What a huge disappointment. I had a few guests over for game night yesterday and ran out to get some KFC since there were 7 of us. As I was leaving someone reminded me that Popeyes had just opened too and they loved their biscuits. We all agreed to try this place instead. What a mistake! Service was slow and terrible! This place just opened and the employees are already this miserable? Not a good sign. We ordered a 16 piece meal and I added a gallon of sweet tea. The guy tried to hand me a gallon that wash smashed in on both sides and I just looked at him. When I didn’t take it, he put it on the counter and tried pressing the dents out. He finally got a metal ladle and stuck it down inside and started pressing the plastic out. When he was done the jug was only half full so he filled it up and it was running out all over the sides. Was he serious? Disgusting. I get the food back home and we were shocked. I paid almost $ 50 for a box of small pieces of chicken(almost all legs and wings) and 3 small containers of sides. I was so worried it was not going to feed everyone… luckily for me the food was so disgusting that no one wanted any! I’m being completely serious. Besides the biscuits(which I will admit are good, but I was given NO butter or honey for) the only thing that got eaten was the corn. They gave me 3 full cobs of corn for a 16 piece dinner so I had to cut them myself. So ridiculous. The rice was burnt and tasted like dirt and the potatoes were ok but that gravy they put on overpowers everything and only one person liked it. The cherry on top was the sweet tea. ITWASNOTSWEET! It was actually bitter. Such a disappointment. I had to go get a pizza later on. It was so embarassing. I will never go back and neither will anyone who was at my place. I give this new store 6 months before it closes. Hopefully we will get something that is actually good in there.
