Claire’s

I’ve been a mall rat since 1985, and I’m damned proud to wear that title! Claire’s has been a mall mainstay, and is one of the few places that were bitchin’ when I was 13, and still is at 33.
A good majority of the earrings, costume jewelry, hair accessories and cosmetics they sell here are mostly non-​high end junk made in China. But dammit, it’s some really cool junk, and I always find something I like. This time around, it was a pair of chunky bejeweled owl earrings that I just could not live without. To give them credit, they do have a line of slightly more expensive earrings made with sterling silver posts for those with sensitive ears.
Of course, Claire’s still seems «THE» place to get one’s ears pierced, and they were doing a brisk business with that on the day I visited. Some may say it’s unsafe, but after a brief stint myself as a Claire’s employee, the employees are well-​trained and supervised before being allowed to go hog-​wild with the piercing gun on their own.

I just love this place! Where else can you find such a wide variety of earrings to match just about anything? Not only that but they have lots of other stuff, like accessories for hair, wallets, ear piercing (a little on the pricey side though) among lots of other things!
