Came here with a friend to eat lunch. The food is not special, its just burgers and fries done at ok. A bit pricey, but so is anuthing in the city. Ok, if you had a tiring day or have a headache… dont eat here unless you wanna hate your LIFE! This place is a zoo… loud annoying music, kids everywhere, people laughing and having a good time… crap like that. But it has a fun atmosphere, our waiter def entertained but he barely even visited our table to check on us. 3 start restaurant boosted to 4 because of the crazy fun waiters ;)

First visit to ed’s. I gave it one star bc I like vintage décor. The whole bad attitude wait staff thing maybe is entertaining for kids? I found it cheesy. Food quality — dry. Nothing special for the prices they charged. $ 9 for a cheeseburger. $ 10 mea loaf, frozen veggies, and dry mash potatoes. Nothing special here. Way over rated.

They were out of hamburger buns, they were out of ice cream. One of the servers said they’re closing in 2 weeks, I don’t know if he was serious but they sure showed no interest in our business. Service was poor, food was mediocre and the staff was not the least bit entertaining.

I enjoyed my lunch/dinner = Linner. It was tasty… I always forget how the peeps there are«rude» and it kind of freaks me out. If you are not in the mood for rudy’s then don’t go there. Otherwise… It is pretty decent and yummy!!!

Just had the worst burger. I ordered the mushroom/swiss burger. The mushrooms were sauted in some sort of vinegar. If it had mentioned that on the menu I would have never ordered it. My husband had the grilled cheese. It was only okay. The shakes were good, but, they topped them with some sort of cool whip type topping. Why not real whipped cream? Thankfully they didn’t charge us for my dinner. But, that’s not enough for us to go back.

HUH? Who in their sane mind wants to go to eat and get harrassed by some Drury lane has-beens. I ate here a long time ago and it was a miserable experience. The food is weak, the service is rude, and the décor is obnoxious. The funniest thing is that they act like they act like the attitude is pretend but I have a feeling its just aan excuse to get away with being jerks.

You seriously might as well go to McDonalds. You’d get hotter ‘fresher food’ other wise. The ONLY reason I went here was because I had a groupon where I could get $ 10 worth of food for $ 5. Even then it was not worth it because I ended up throwing 70% of the food away. All I ate was the french fries. I ordered the sloppy joe. It was like a heap of mess on a bun. I also orderd a brownie. and ice cream thingy. It was just. fowl and I can usually force anything with sugar down. This is a definite skip.

Regular food, but doesn’t compare to the one downtown. It’s been suburbanized. If you think about going here, just skip it and make the trek downtown for the real experience.

DID I just pay for a Clown Party gone Bad or Did I just pay for me saying that I got to go to Ed Debevic’s? I decided to Take 3 kids to this place before I went to a Formal Dinner Party on Saturday. WOW. It was so disappointing. The food was Mediocre to say it nicely. The Service was decent but for $ 60. This included 2 Chicken finger meals /fries 1 cheeseburger/fries and drinks. I just don’t think that the food was that great. The ambiance was all of that. The costumes were cute but not worth $ 60. I think the kids would’ve enjoyed Safari Land much better.

Without short-circuiting my brain, I don’t believe I can come up with enough negative adjectives to describe the abysmal meal we were served at Ed Debevic’s in Yorktown a few weeks ago. I’m rating one more star than I really want to, only because our server kept the three kids in our party entertained while he served us the horrendously bland, greasy, and cold food that we wasted a hard-earned $ 50 on. In reminiscing about the great meals I’ve had at Ed’s downtown location, this experience left me especially dejected. The two locations aren’t even in the same league — not in quality of food, atmosphere, or quality of server/entertainer. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Had lunch at Ed’s with my friend and my daughter and of course the server was rude… we loved it. But the service was great and the food was good. I love their atomic fries and their shakes. We were seated pretty quickly and we got a great show while we ate. Plus I had a $ 25 gift certificate. I love Ed’s

Hey, dinner and a show! I’d never heard of Ed Debevic’s, but I used to regularly go to Durgin Park in Boston, famous for it’s theatrically rude waiters. We had Bubbles when we came for Lunch and something Sandy in the evening. The Dinner waitress was a far better character. The dancing on the raised area was really funny as they did a bit where they were begrudgingly doing the dancing. It was funny. The food? Decent. I have the Chili Five Ways once, which was very tasty though I don’t understand why you put Maccaroni in chili, and then the Chili 6 ways, which was even better. The burger was totally average. I mean on a scale of 1 to 10 of averageness, it’s a 5. I very much enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak, because it wasn’t tough at all, which is often a problem. I very much enjoyed the creamed corn. The waitress, for all the showy-rudeness, was actually very attentive and got us stuff fast and frequent. All in all, I enjoyed the hell out of the place, and I didn’t even play the Ms Pac-Man machine.

I dunno, I like Ed’s. I mean, the waitresses are wacky(not really MEAN, just weird and occasionally throw zingers at you) — like the one we had tonight, «Sprinkles,» who kept giving ME all the food because my husband the Sox fan argued with her about the Cubs. I was amused, actually. And the food isn’t spectacular, but it’s pretty good — we had nachos(piles of homemade chips, chili, cheese, guacamole, pico); I had a burger replete with tomato, guac, bacon, cheese on sourdough and it was pretty tasty. The fries are the skinny-cut kind, good with mustard. My husband enjoyed his chicken fingers. And the chocolate shake was like a frosty, but good. It’s got a certain cheese factor, but if you’re in the mood to argue with your waitress, why not? :)

I used to love this place so much as a kid. Yeah, its just basic restaurant food but I used to LOVE it here.

Yeah yeah yeah, I get it. You’re mean. It’s supposed to be funny. Blah. Blah. Blah. I’d rather not be offended through lunch especially when your food is disgusting. Veggie burgers seemed to melt in my mouth and not as delicious as an m&m would. Pretty gross, actually.

To be fair, I don’t think I had the typical Ed Debevic’s experience. If you don’t know, this is the place where wait staff is supposed to be cranky(though I wonder if they’ve ever pushed anyone too far and a real mêlée has occurred…) and dancin’ to the oldies on the counters ensues on the hour. In my year and a half in Chicago I’d never been to one of these places, yet the name kept popping up on tv etc, and I knew of them through a friend whose tween daughter likes the pageantry and mouthing-off. While we were in Yorktown shopping, my mother jestingly suggested we go here for lunch, and since it was something different from the usual food court fare, I said, «Why not?» It was a week-day, so there was NOONE in the place. The waitress was delighted to have someone to attend to and fell out of trash-talk character on and off, as it had probably been a pretty dull shift(while we were there, two other tables came and went, and that was it). So we didn’t have the most punishing meal we might have. I asked if we were going to be treated to the song-and-dance number even with such a small crowd and she ran off to find someone to help her with the karaōke machine. Now that’s service! She and the other waiter on staff(who were only outnumbered 2 to 1 at that moment: 4 patrons, 2 servers) did a rousing chorus of «YMCA,» then went back to their rounds. The food is diner fare; I didn’t expect a lot, but it was actually not bad. I started off with a cup of «Cream of Mashed Potato Soup»(think baked potato soup), served very hot(hurrah! not lukewarm like so many restaurant soups!); the cheese wanted to string out a lot but otherwise, nice on a cold day. Onion rings were the good kind, where the coating has become one with the onion, not the«take one bite and the onion string pulls free from the carapace of breading» variety. My burger was big, juicy, just a little greasy but not overly so, just right for the diner setting. My mother, for whatever reason, decided to order the southwest chicken salad(you don’t order salad at any place with a ‘50s theme, duh!), but the waitress said she liked it and Mom was happy with the cilantro-lime dressing. We indulged in the World’s Smallest Sundae for dessert(it’s the size of an egg cup), at the urging of our waitress, who was appaled that we weren’t going to have something sweet to cap off the meal. Clearly the environment is different on a crowded week-end than it was on this dead week-day, but I can see that this would be a fun place to bring kids, teenagers, or out-of-towners. So come eat at Ed’s, sass-mouth your server and shake your tail feather.

Great place to take visitors, they get a kick out of the staff. But the food isn’t that great, my daughter did love her tiny sundae.

The food wasn’t too bad… it was what you would expect from a burger place. My husband’s bacon cheeseburger was really good, and their fries were good. I had a turkey club that was good, and our kids enjoyed their food. They enjoyed the entertainment immensely! Okay, we’ve been here a few times, and our kids freakin love it! We’ve gotten awesome waiters every time, and the staff is hilarious! And the food is good, for a fast food restaurant. I haven’t had anything to complain about thus far.

I know, I know. But my niece was in town visiting me and I told her about the concept. She’s eleven, so she thought it was hilarious. The short of it: funny place to take a tourist for below-average food. One star because I happen to like onion rings and cheeseburgers. One star because my niece had fun. No more stars because I could get that food anywhere, and they could probably do it better.
