What if I told you about a place where you would get into an old-school bumper car, be given this scoop type of racket and try to pick up an over-sized wiffle ball? Seems odd enough, right? Alright, now envision two teams of five, mashing the hell out of each other to get that ball with the scoop and then fling it into a baketball backboard with a hole in center. Huh? I came here the other night with a large group of colleagues. Since we had our run of the place I was more inclined to socialize and drink beer. Peer pressure crept in though, so I gave Whirleyball a whirl. Suffice it to say, half way through the first game I was 110% sold. This is AWESOME! The game itself is what you and the other players make of it. Some games were slow moving without a great deal of collisions. Then there were the games I was involved in, with a bunch of people that wanted to run each other over, turning it into a game of blood and guts. Personally, I wouldn’t have it any other way. after all, you’re in there to win! About ten games later I finally came out of the cage for good. The game itself is a blast and I’d highly recommend it. I will say this, playing may result in some body soreness and even a bruise or two. Trust me, both are worth it. Add Whirleyball to your bucket list folks. Cheers.

Stopped in for a little fun and wasn’t disappointed. Our group didn’t have enough people for our own game but lucky for us some out of town business men were looking for some stiff competition and they to lacked enough people for their own game. Our small Lady gang were no competition for these out of town business men but a battle ensued, balls were sent flying and carts a whirling. It was a bast, if you’re looking to kill sometime give it a go!

So, my friends and I were here for a bachelor party… highly recommended. It was a phenomenal time, and I will absolutely come here again. What made the night, specifically, was our host and referee Ricky. He was extremely complementary, and made all of our nights. He was pleasantly outgoing and enthusiastic, and essentially guaranteed all of our return. If you’re looking for a great night, bachelor party or otherwise, we especially recommend this establishment… and you better ask for Ricky. 5 stars in any format.

We had a really fantastic time at whirlyball, and our referee Ricky was absolutely incredible. I think the fun of the experience very much depends on the atmosphere of the event and Ricky was so entertaining! He acted more like a fun sports announcer and was active and awesome the entire hour we played, which definitely added to our enjoyment of the event. The drinks were also good and reasonably priced, and there were pool tables and bags there too so we had a fun time hanging out before and after our scheduled event. Also, the music they were playing was great so we got to dance a little too! I would give this place 5 stars for atmosphere and the activity, but it loses one star for the shabby ceiling on Court 1 — it looked really bad(like the ceiling was torn to shreds, with bits of hanging??? something.). I doubt that it was unsafe, but it just looked terrible and I’m big on presentation and good atmosphere. In any case, it was a ton of fun and I would definitely recommend, especially if the place fixes itself up a bit.

Not very accommodating for group organizations. Tried to schedule an outing for our baseball organization and they not only charge $ 220/hr but $ 20 per person for food even for the parents just watching. $ 800-$ 1000 for a 2 hour evening is crazy! Spend your money elsewhere.

Really like this place. Came for a company party & was pleasantly surprised at just how fun this place was. We had a whirley ball court all to ourselves along with a little area of the with a buffet. The buffet included a creamy tomato pasta, lemon chicken breast, homemade potato chips with fresh dips that night I add in the dip I can see it had real bacon in it and not those nasty bacon bits, which was impressive for bar food. They had s fully stocked bar with an impressive beer list too! The only thing is that they seemed a little understaffed and when the food ran out and needed to be replenished it appeared that the servers needed more help than they had; but all in all everything was great! I would even consider going back here just to hang out because they so much more than whirley ball, they have pool tables, arcades, and ping-pong.

Cold food & dirty plates, the risk of injury & peeling paint has me rating this two stars. The only reason I’m mustering two, is because this may appeal to someone else, but I’m certainly not that person. So why was I here? For a work function, of course. When the activity was chosen, I knew immediately I wouldn’t partake. Thankfully I have an excuse(I’m four months pregnant), but it wouldn’t be my thing on any other normal day. Upon arrival, the dark, bowling-alley feel to this place gave me the creeps. The layout is great for large parties(such as ours) if you’re into this type of thing. Games and of course, WhirlyBall, take center stage. While watching co-workers play, I was stunned at how unsettling it appeared — it looked rough, and nearly impossible to score. Three rounds of 2 – 2(or about that) scores had me with a wandering eye… up to the ceiling, that was chipping paint and extremely unappealing. Thankfully, there was food! I ended up towards the end of the line, and after sifting through four dirty plates, found one clean enough to use. The variety of fried foods seemed somewhat appetizing, but most was lukewarm, and several hours later my stomach wasn’t so happy with any of my decisions. Ironically enough, before my stomach could tell me to stop, I went for more salad, and came to realize the only plates that were left were the dirty ones — they had been restacked for usage. Gross. Again, this is not my type of place. But if you’re looking for a spot that’s bound to provide an upset stomach, bruises and frustration — this is your place.

Horrible experience. Game was fun because I was with people that I love to hang out with. It was supposed to my team outing from my work that I organized. Was able to get there on time. Only one bar keep and she mentioned she was miserable working. She kept venting about her personal problems and her manager. She kept complaining the whole time. My whole team felt miserable and ruined my teams morale. Horrible experience. I would never recommend this place for team outing. This place needs new management or more staffing with high morale. Really frustrating. I wish there was negative grade option. Such a horrible experience. I hope you have a better one.

This place is so fun! Seriously, get a group of 10 and come here and drink and drive around in scooters whacking each other. You’ll feel it in the morning but you’ll also remember how fun it was!

I recently hosted an organization social event/outing to play at the Lombard location. Having played Whiryball several times at their Chicago location I was really excited to play it with all of my Naperville Jaycee’s buddies. I even bought my Mom along and she loved it. Our server was very nice and helpful and they set us all up with all that we needed. Everyone loved playing the game and our referee was very perceptive and funny. My ONLY reason for not 5 stars was the food. We ordered 8 pizza’s and a garden salad and soda drinks. The Pizza was SUPER sub-par. But everyone was starving so we all ate it. But it was just about subsistence not flavor. I just with the Pizza would have been a bit better tasting instead of average at best. Besides that, Super Fun! It’s a game everyone has to play and experience at least once. **Just make sure you avoid directly crashing into the wall, causes horrible inner thigh bruises! **

Went there twice, both for office parties, I received a gift card as a gift from my boss in December 2013. I took it home and just found it in Feb 2015. I went to check the balance and there is no history on the card and no balance. It was a Holiday Promo $ 100 off next visit bought for $ 50. The gift receipt is still attached to the card. In Illinois gift cards aren’t supposed to expire. So 0 stars for this illegal aspect of the business. 2 stars for the facility and staff.

Bumping and grinding was what the bachelor wanted. And that’s what he got when we went to WhirlyBall. I got there early and killed time watching the other groups spin in circles and chase down that elusive Wiffleball. Fun way to spend an afternoon with some of your friends. No complaints other than wishing I’d taken more shots and hit that net.

UPDATE — Recently got a call from the Manager who was calling me about my Unilocal review. He was interested/concerned about the experience I had and wanted to rectify the situation. I appreciated the call and was glad to hear that my information had reached them, as I wouldn’t want it to happen to anyone else. I do know for the future that if I plan the event or not I will make sure to notify a manager on duty if a ref is not doing their job correctly. This won’t keep us from going again in the future :)

Such a fun place! Be prepared to sweat and have some bruises! I literally had no plan on playing the game cause I am not good at anything that requires hand/eye coordination… but once I got behind the wheel, I just couldn’t help myself and play some awesome defense :) Decently sized location — there are two courts(we only used one), a fully stocked bar, pool tables, video games, and plenty of sitting areas. Came here for a work outing and we all had a blast! Staff was super fun and we really enjoyed all of the food, especially the specialty pizzas.

We had a large group(40 or so) for the night. I had played WhirlyBall once before in a different state and remember it being a blast! This location is rather large with two courts. They have a fully stocked bar and the place is clean. We used both courts and had a tournament. ITISSOMUCHFUN! We had quite a few people in our group from around the world and they were able to pick it up too. This does take a bit of skill, basically only throwing it decently straight. Really, my only complaint is that the food was just ok. I also had a lot of bruises the next day but no one else said they had any so I guess it was just me! I have no idea on prices as it was covered.
