I’ve eaten poke throughout Hawaii, Nevada and a number of other restaurants in California. For those who haven’t tried poke, it is an island favorite that is gaining in popularity in the U.S. with new poke restaurants opening throughout the Los Angeles area. This is a relatively new restaurant located in a unassuming strip mall on PCH in Lomita. First, the staff is very helpful and friendly. They explain all the different options which is helpful if you decide to stop by. The restaurant itself is small and good for small groups. This place gets Poke. They offer generous portions of poke but unlike others that just serve Ahi Tuna this one has a generous selection of options and fresh fish including salmon, albacore, white fish, and fish eggs. You definitely need to come back several times to try the different types of options that they offer. I believe good traditional poke requires a number of certain ingredients including, sesame seed oil, ogo limu(hawaiian seaweed), sweet Maui onion, green onions and the freshest ahi tuna. I like mine topped with roasted sesame seeds as well. King Poke takes this to a different level with a wide variety of fish and options for the discriminating palate. I’m not one for chipotle, mayonnaise, cilantro or garlic chips on my poke but you can custom order your poke to suit your taste. I am delighted to find an undiscovered treasure in the South Bay area which has several poke restaurants of note including one I reviewed earlier. This one however ranks as one of the better Poke restaurants in Los Angeles.

Often times I get crazy cravings for certain foods and until I get it. well, let’s just say you should avoid me at all costs. Needless to say, I was on a poke mission and because I was in the south bay, Unilocal led me to King Poke. Small little plaza but there’s additional parking in the back. As soon as I walked in I started to feel crazy anxiety due to the obnoxious EDM playing. The two girls that were working were both friendly and polite. In every bowl it already comes with a variety of fish and some veggies and then you choose: 1. Size: small, medium(check), or large 2. Base: Rice or Kelp noodles(check) 3. Sauce: Ponzu(check), Spicy Mayo, Creamy sesame sauce, Miso, etc. 4. Three toppings: I went with the ginger, cilantro, and shredded seaweed **Optional** I also got the avocado($ 1 more) and the side of seaweed salad. Total came out to a little over $ 12 which isn’t bad at all($ 12 min for credit card purchases). All in all, not bad but not the greatest or the freshest poke I’ve had. I wasn’t really able to taste the ponzu and the kelp noodles became«soggy» at the bottom. The seaweed salad itself was flavorful and I would order this again. The portion was good as I was not able to finish my bowl and they did not skimp out on the fish(just wish it was fresh). Unilocal, you failed me today but I have hopes for a better tomorrow.

Alright 5 stars must mean this place must definitely be good. And that’s right ! I’ve gone here more than a # of times that it deserves the review King Poke needs. Not ONE time I have been disappointed. And their bowl is the best out of every other poke I’ve had in the surrounding areas. Thank you for being so tasty and savory. I take all my sushilover friends here if I can and they would love it I’msure. Alright less gasp now for the review. Medium size poke bowl(all fish combined) tuna, masago, salmon, albacore. With spicy mayo. And my preferable 3 toppings shredded seaweed for the light and crisp sea flavor, toasted garlic for the healthy garlic benefits in mind, and last but not least the ginger to cleanse the palette for another bite of the authentic delicious flavor. Not a lot of ppl like ginger but it really isn’t that bad one you can get accustomed to it. Best bowl of my choice and highly recommended of all. Oh ! And if you don’t like a certain type of fish you can always switch it out for something else. Then for the base I’ll get half noodle and half rice. Because I’m indecisive lol. Enjoy ! P. s.: addtnl parking at the back the front in very small. And $ 12 minimum on credit cards/debits

There’s not a lot of places that I like going to again and again since I’m on the hunt to eat new places all the time. King Poke might be that exception. Healthy, fresh, light meals without curbing the taste. I went on a Saturday, then went again on Monday because it was that good. I have to say it tasted a bit better on Saturday when I first had it because I wasn’t expecting much but it blew me away. LOCATION King Poke is located inside a small plaza behind a Mexican restaurant. I would enter from PCH for easier parking. They have a small parking lot that gets a bit tight, but I’m thankful for free accessible parking any day over having to pay for parking all over Los Angeles. WHAT I ORDERED SIZE: Small($ 7.50), medium($ 8.95), or large($ 11.95) BASE: When you order, you can choose from rice or noodle as the base. STANDARDPOKE: Then, you can opt to have everything in the poke bowl, which includes: tuna, salmon, albacore, white fish, and masago(egg), then cucumber, onion, green onion, avocado, sesame seeds, and imitation crab. This is all included in the standard poke bowl without any extra charge! I was so happy avocado and imitation crab was included because I feel like other places would charge extra for these two items. SAUCE: Choose a sauce for your bowl: Ponzu, spicy mayo, creamy sesame sauce, miso with whole grain mustard and vinegar, or Korean spicy bean paste and garlic. I chose ponzu but asked for some spicy mayo and creamy sesame sauce on the side. You can also pick up their own version of their hot sauce(only 1 per bowl allowed), which I wanted to douse my bowl with but couldn’t since the hot sauce cups were so small! TOPPINGS: Then, you choose your three toppings out of: cilantro, deep fried onion, fried garlic chips, shredded seaweed, sliced jalapeño, fried wonton chips, or ginger. I chose the cilantro, garlic chips, and seaweed each time. King Poke offers quick, fast, efficient service. Your bowl will come out quickly and you can eat there or take it to-go. They also have a spicy tuna bowl if that’s up your alley. I’ll be sure to check this place out again.

I was eager to try this place out, and finally got the chance… Let me say that if you’re strictly looking for ahi tuna poke, this is NOT the place to go. Their«poke» is more of a blend of a few kinds of raw fish, with imitation crab, avocado, and those salty little fish eggs to top it off. That’s just the poke; you can add many more toppings and sauces to suit your taste. I will admit, the overall taste of this bowl is more fishy than the other poke i’ve tried, but I enjoyed it more than Jus’Poke in Redondo. The name says it all… King poke is the best!

Amazing poke bowl. Was taken here by my coworkers in the area. Think of a salad bar but for poke bowls — you get to choose small, medium, or large, then the base carb(rice, noodles, etc.), the sauce, and toppings. Definitely get the garlic chips as one of the topics! I just tried the ponzu sauce and it’s pretty good. I’d probably get it with a little less sauce next time(I tend to like the flavors to be a little lighter). The staff was friendly and fast. The shop has a café type seating area, good for small groups(I wouldn’t go if you’re a group of 10). Definitely going back to try the other sauces and toppings! :).

Came here one evening. place was pretty much empty. The staff was friendly and helped me decide since i was a first time customer. You basically got two options poke(cubed fish) or tuna(smashed) bowl. Poke come with tuna, salmon, albacore, white fish and masago(fish eggs) Then you decide if you want rice or noodles or half n half. Then one sauce(ponzu, spicy mayo, creamy sesame sauce, miso or spicy bean paste) Last your three mix ins(cilantro, fried onion, garlic chips, seaweed, jalapeño, won ton chips or gari(ginger)) Okay now my review of the place: Place was pretty clean and staff was friendly so plus for that The food was kinda bland, i got it with the ponzu. I’ve had it in other places and it was way more flavorful and pleasing. The quality of the fish was descent as well. you get a decent amount of food thou. So average as the food is concerned. Parking is a small lot but there is other parking available outside the lot FYI there is a $ 12 dollar minimum to use credit cards so beware even thou legally they can only make it $ 10 minimum not $ 12(since July 2010 law) so shame shame on king poke… minor so moving on Overall an average find. For the price and quality most likely it wont be my first or second choice for poke.

This poke place is honestly so good! I was hooked from the first bite. I got the poke bowl and it was delicious. It comes with albacore, salmon, tuna, imitation crab, masago, avocado, cucumbers and more. You get to pick your own sauce and toppings. I got ponzu sauce with ginger and seaweed(nori). I got a small and it was a good size for me. Small is $ 7.50, medium is $ 8.50 and large is about $ 12. The large is a little pricey… I would still definitely recommend this place to other people. The staff is nice and the place has lots of tables of you want to eat in.

This place is great located on PCH it’s hard to miss this spot. Coming back from NY, Poke is on my top 3 list em to eat. We stopped in around 4−5pm and was helped by the staff. They were super nice and help us on how to order. He décor isn’t much but it’s reminds me of Hawaii. We ordered a size L bowl with toppings of garlic onions, seaweed, and fried garlic. Poke mix comes with tuna, salmon, white fish, avocado, and masago. I ordered the bowl with ponzu sauce as well. Huge bowls! I thought it was going to be a small portion but man the portion is huge. Or she hooked it up lol If you’re craving Poke make sure to check out this spot. There is another spot we go to called Just Poke but l def recommend this spot.

Had lunch from here today and felt inclined to write a review asap. 1. Pick your size. Small, medium or large. I opted for medium. $ 8.95. Comes with tuna, salmon, white fish, albacore, avocado, masago. You can ask them to take out of any of the stuff if you don’t like it. 2. Pick your base. You got rice, you got noodles, or go all out and do a bed of California rolls. 3. Pick your sauce. Ponzu, spicy mayo, creamy sesame, Korean etc. I went for sesame sauce and was NOT disappointed. Asked for it to be spicy, but it was pretty mild. Luckily she packed me a small container of delicious hot sauce that helped kick it up a bit. 4. Pick your toppings. 3 for free. Additional charge for anything after that. I got the deep fried onions, garlic and seawood strips. Mix it up altogether, and you get a delicious party in your mouth. Everything tasted super fresh, the sauce was the perfect amount of creamy without becoming overbearing, and seriously, it was a lot of food for $ 8.95. They do have a $ 12 minimum requirement for purchases using cards, but it was my first time and they were nice enough to waive that for me. Located on PCH, so getting in and out wasn’t the easiest due to lunch time traffic, but the restaurant itself was spacious and welcoming. Service was great, and the girl helping me was super sweet. Will DEFINITELY return!

This Poke spot is actually pretty damn good! Aside from the weird parking at the back of the building, this place is pretty decent. I sometimes crave for Poke but not all establishment makes them well. There are so many types of Poke places springing up out of no where now a days, making it difficult to choose whats best. Some are creamy, some are too salty, spicy and well dangerous to eat.(Depending of the freshness of the fish). But this place serve fresh tuna and salmon, along their dishes comes several fresh toppings to choose from. My first time I came here, I was confused. I didn’t realize that I had to dress my own poke, but it the end It turned out well. They have cilantro, seaweed flakes, tuna babies(also known as ROE), avocado and many more. The service in this place is pretty good, pretty fast which is another good thing. The place is good, no odd smell lingering around. Pretty funny since they serve plenty of fish. location, well looks hidden from almost the public eye but not bad. Highly recommended for Poke lovers!

Came here two days in a row because I had a training class nearby. Not gonna lie, I’m always craving raw fish so I thought poke would be a cheap substitute for expensive sashimi. The Good: — Fish chunks are huge. Other poke places give you tiny cut up pieces which look kinda sad. — And they give you more fish than other poke places for the price! A small bowl ended up about ~$ 8 and was enough to fill me up. — House ponzu was good. It’s that typical poke sauce if that’s what you’re looking for. I wasn’t adventurous enough to try any other. — You can choose up to 3 «extra» toppings which were pretty unique compared to other poke places. I did garlic chips, fried onion, and seaweed. The Bad: — The poke bowl is preset with different type of fishes and toppings. I prefer being able to choose them in an assembly-line. You can tell them to take out whatever ingredients you don’t like but I rather be able to specify exactly what I want(like only salmon). — Traffic at lunchtime is ridiculous! It took me 10 minutes to travel less than a mile. And the parking lot is super small. Not the best poke place I’ve been to, but still really solid! Now with all these poke places popping up, I wish one would open up near me.

This is a great place! Hands down the best poke bowl I have had. I had the spicy tuna bowl. The sea weed strips on top made the bowl delicious. The sauce was also delicious! The service was also great. After we arrived the place got really busy, so you can tell it’s really popular. The prices are very reasonable. It’s like the chipotle of poke bowls. We also got the California bowl which was also really tasty. I’m so happy I came across this gem near my parents house. Can’t wait to go back!

This place serves Poke but it is a bit different than Jus’ Poke in Redondo Beach. These are custom Poke bowls. It’s nice and different for people who like variety or who knows what they like. I find that the Poke Bowls here to be too saucy and it overpowers the flavor of the fish. The sauces I tried was the creamy sesame sauce and the Korean spicy bean paste & garlic – both were very strong in flavor. As for toppings, the fried garlic chips is a must! In detail: The bowl comes with salmon, albacore, white fish, masago, cucumber, onion, avocado, green onion, sesame seeds, and imitation crab. If you want to omit one or more, then you just let them know. 1) Choose your size: small, med, large 2) Choose with sushi rice, harusame noodle salad, or onto cut California Roll 3) Choose sauce: ponzu, spicy mayo, creamy sesame sauce, mustard & vinegar, Korean Spicy Bean Paste & Garlic 4) Choose toppings: cilantro, deep fried onion, fried garlic ships, shredded seaweed, sliced jalapeño, fried on ton chips You can order extra ingredients for an additional fee: octoupus, spicy tuna, avocado, spicy mayo, imitation crab This place also have spicy tuna bowls, California rolls, fish tacos, popcorn shrimp salad, miso soup. There is some seating inside and this place is bigger than Jus’ Poke. Overall, I prefer Jus’ Poke over this place.

I love King Poke! The fish is so fresh and the toppings and everything about it is delicious! PARKING. First parking is limited in the lot that they’re located in since they share it with other businesses, but there’s street parking available and another lot right behind the plaza. The employees are really nice and helpful! The first time I came here, I looked at the black menu on the wall and I was so confused. There was so much going on but there was a paper menu on the counter that was much easier to look at. You get to choose what size bowl(S, M, L) and what kind of base you want(rice, noodles, or mixed) and you’re allowed to choose different toppings and allowed to take out certain types of fish in your poke mix! I always get the small bowl with rice, all the fish on it, with the garlic chips, and the regular sauce and spicy sauce. This place is pretty filling, even for a small bowl. I eat A LOT and a small gets me pretty full. AND its cheap for poke! compared to other places too. The seating is pretty limited so it’s not really a sit down place for big groups. There is a minimum charge for card(I think $ 12?) so make sure to bring cash!

This place was highly recommend by Steve M., Alana, and Kimberly… I trust their judgment. . I arrived here right before closing and lucked out when I got a free parking space right in the front. My friends parked around the corner. Inside was clean, bright, and spacious. We moved a few tables together, since we were the only customers, and had a great time chatting! The Small Poke Bowl tasted as good as it looked! I was happy as a clam! ;) I wouldn’t mind returning at an earlier time(not right before closing) so we could have more happy memories together! The staff were really kind and let me stay to take photos after closing time! Mahalo!

I don’t say this often, but after my first visit here(because of a craving for poke after reading my friends review), it was love at first bite… and the second bite… and every bite after. There is something very special carefully packed inside these(small $ 7.50 /medium $ 8.95 /large $ 11.95) poke’ bowls… lots of delicious and fresh ingredients(bite-sized tuna, salmon, albacore, white fish, tiny masago(roe of the capelin fish), cucumber, onion, green onion, avocado, sesame seeds and imitation crab) artfully layered in the bowls, where every single bite is a treat to be savored. The staff is almost always cheerful and greet you with lots of enthusiasm and thanks you and bids you farewell. Parking is never a problem when I go and guess I’m just lucky as I always park in the first or second stall near the stairs but there are street parking spots and another lot nearby I believe. After a few visits, my favorite poke bowl to order is flavored with non-spicy ponzu sauce(their own house blended citrus-based soy sauce) or non-spicy creamy sesame sauce, garnished with my top three: cilantro, shredded seaweed and gari ginger(or choose your own three: deep fried onion, fried garlic chips, sliced jalapeño, fried won ton chips) on a bed of sushi rice and /or Harusame noodle salad. I usually add a little bit more sesame seed oil, ponzu sauce, furikake and Kizami nori at home to make it the best poke bowl ever… and to dream about until the next visit. Happy eating and pleasant dreams…

4.8 stars! DUDE, it doesn’t get better than this guys! This is THE place to go! These Poke Bowls are UHHH-mazing! They definitely give you your money’s worth with the fresh poke, avocado, seaweed, fish eggs and MORE. These bowls are fresh, filling, and super satisfying. I got the medium bowl and had a hard time finishing it so I took home my leftovers. Meanwhile, my guy friends’ got the large and were force feeding themselves at the end. Haha, I’d say just go with medium! Also, the staff here are very friendly! Service is A+. Definitely try out this place if you want some fresh fish! And if you like poke! I highly recommend it!

It was my first time trying King Poke, and I was not disappointed! I ordered the Poke Bowl, which includes tuna, salmon, albacore, white fish, and masago(fish eggs), along with cucumber, onion, green onion, avocado, sesame seeds, and imitation crab. Bowls come in three sizes… I chose the medium and was satisfied with the amount of food. You can have sushi rice, noodle salad, or half and half of each in your bowl. Then choose one of five sauces, including Ponzu, Spicy Mayo, Creamy Sesame, Miso, or Korean Spicy Bean Paste and Garlic. I opted for the Ponzu sauce(a citrus-based soy sauce), and it was quite refreshing. The last step is to choose up to 3 toppings from seven options. These include: cilantro, deep fried onion, fried garlic chips, shredded seaweed, sliced jalapeño, fried wonton chips, and«gari» ginger. Once you finish ordering at the counter, they’ll give you a number. Wait for your order to be called, and pick up from the counter when it’s ready. Parking: There is a small lot in front of the restaurant, but there is also an additional lot behind the strip mall(down Pennsylvania Ave.). Parking down residential streets is also available.
