My sisters, niece and I came here on Tuesday and had a lovely day. Greg was our sommelier and you could tell he loves what he does, he explained about each of the wines and was so knowledgable. We brought a little picnic and sat out in their lovely vineyards whilst enjoying the bottle we purchased from our wine tastings Of course the wine was so delicious we decided to join the wine club. Thank you Greg for a beautiful afternoon.

Had an extraordinary time at Babcock today. Andre was the utmost professional and was full of knowledge about the wines — so much interesting information! The wines are spectacular. This place is absolutely worth the visit. Just go.

The large room(s) is/are filled with displays of wines, antiques, and other goodies for you to buy. At the back is the tasting area, with a nice list of wines to try and friendly service. We enjoyed the very creamy chardonnay and several excellent pinot noirs. We left with several bottles of the Santa Rita Hills pinot. The lady helping us was both friendly and informative.

Best to go there on a weekday to see the super eclectic tasting room and get a parallel pour of terrific pinots(the 2013s are amazing).

One of my favorites. Found 3 bottles for around 15 bucks each. The Grenache blanc was our favorite. Jamie was hostess. She knocked it out of the park. See you soon.

Perfect ending to a week of vacationing with many vineyard visits… one of our two favorites. Two tasting choices: -$ 15 for 6 selection du jour.($ 15 – 45) All were good +. Grenache Blanc was light with an excellent grenache flavor, smooth, not tart as many are. A bargain at $ 15. Sauv blanc was good, Santa Rita hills pinot great nose, taste and finish. Cab sauvignon was nice with strong cherry notes but not a complex wine. Syrah was okay, not as bold or complex as most Syrahs. — $ 18 for 6 Single Terroir Selections– this is where BW&V shines. Two excellent Chardonnays & four pinots.($ 45 – 60). Pricey, but worth it. Each had good bouquets, great pinot flavors and a complexity on the palette that varied and lingered. My favorite was the Radical PN that had an earthiness and smooth finish.(Had to buy one) BW&V tasting room was an eclectic mix of antiques and unique gifts. Jamie our pourer was delightful, helpful and shared several other blends, cab franc, etc. that were open. Comped tasting fees for purchases… in fact, walked away happy with a 6 pack.

Loved this winery loved all the antiques and stuff they sold, even found an awesome Culture Club vinyl record! Andre was an amazing host outside for our Grapeline wine tour. He is passionate about wine, and told us how much he loves working at Babcock Winery. We purchased the Slice of Heaven wine, cant wait to open it. Will def be back. Music was great and friendly staff all around 10 stars!

This was a favorite of the dozen or so wineries we tasted over the days we were visiting the area. The tasting room seems a little like an Anthropology outlet or something similar, but who cares. The general manager was serving when we came in and was very sweet and informative. Couldn’t have asked for better service. The wines were fantastic. The top Cream Chardonnay blew away our expectations, the pinots(Deja Vu, Ocean’s Ghost, Sta. Rita Hills) were all complex and well balanced. Don’t miss.

Went back this weekend and once again we were 100% pleased with the wine, the tasting room staff, and the view. Cannot recommend Babcock enough. We ended up buying 12 bottles!

Holy crap Batman! We’ve entered a den of antiques and bad music to find expensive yet unimpressive pinots. Babcock is a branding nightmare, with 4 different wine clubs and several different labels of different quality, my head was spinning. The top cream and ocean dream weren’t enough to make me want to revisit this winery, the pinots are 60.00 and while definitely not bad, there is so much better to be found for less.

Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. The place is really intriguing and I liked the interior but unfortunately the service wasn’t too good. When we came in, we were hardly even greeted. After the other visitors left, we got decent service but overall the experience was lame. There were few good wines but some misses as well. A nice place but to me it seemed there were better places for tasting nearby!

We fell in love with the pinot noir from Babcock Winery while enjoying a smörgåsbord dinner in Solvang. We noted the name and headed over to the winery the next morning. The tasting was great and we were sold to buy a bottle of pinot noir. The staff are nice and knowledgable. The wines are solid. We are new fans of Babcock Winery.

This place is SPECIAL. The staff they’ve hired are incredible, they have hospitality on lock. I am from NYC and each time I’ve come here(a handful of times spread out over two or possibly more years) every member of the staff is friendly and authentic. The wine is a knock out. OCEAN’S GHOST?!! Holy Moses, that is a gift from heaven. They should be writing a book on hospitality, and surrounding wineries should take note.

Absolutely delicious wines. One of the most flavorful and satisfying sauvignon blancs I’ve ever tasted in my 45 years of being a habitual wino. Babcock has several varietals and vintages to sample. The wine makers hand is readily identifiable with his talent to produce smooth textures, bright fruit forward flavors, and balanced acid /brightness. Great pinot noirs. Quality to price ratio is very good. Highly recommended.

Honestly, I had never heard of this winery before and just came here because it was adjacent to Melville. I felt like a broken record because with every single pour(and I mean EVERYSINGLE pour), I said, «I’m pleasantly surprised!» I love Pinot Noir, and the four I tasted were each so different and each so delicious. It was hard to figure out which I liked the best. Not usually a fan of Chardonnay nor of Cabernet Sauvignon, but the pours were outstanding and changed my mind. I actually walked away with a bottle of cab, it was so good. The staff was a delight to talk to. Very laid back and knowledgeable. The tasting room and the private room were full of character. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for their wines and be coming back again when I’m in the area.

We visited Babcock Winery this weekend and it was my favorite winery by far! They have a private room you can reserve that is so artsy and cool. The views from the property are stunning and the staff was very friendly. There is a large warehouse space where the tastings take place and they’ll sell a ton of interesting things. I bought a hand lotion and some wines. We had a fantastic visit and I would definitely return, especially with a group!

This place was awesome. I came with my mom and sister. My mom isn’t into red wines, so they let us try just their whites. My mom really loved that. Then one offered my sister and me a taste of one of their reds. I really appreciated that. The tasting room is big and comfortable. The people there were all friendly. We got to walk around the vineyard a little, and that was a fun experience. One of the men working there told us about their Revolutionary Farming practices, and we got to see that by walking through the grapes. We also saw two jackrabbits, which is always nice. Plus their wines are really great. After we stopped here we went over to Melville winery, which is right next to Babcock. That place was nice, but had a totally different vibe. This place was casual and very friendly. It was not at all pretentious The guys here joked around and chatted with us while we were there. It was my favorite place that we went while in Lompoc wine tasting.

Oh man! What a gem! We were so happy that Melville was closed because we wouldn’t have stumbled upon Babcock otherwise. Just about everything was excellent. We loved the Pinot’s, but the Cab still managed to wow me after they raised the bar to world class levels. Recently, the winemaker reduced production from 25,000 to 13,000 cases, and you can tell it’s paying off. I thought 4 of the 5 pinot’s were stellar and would hold up to anything from Burgundy, Russian River, Sonoma, etc. The staff was super helpful, informed, and fun. We rolled up around 4:05, and they were still in a good mood. The girl was teasing me right off the bat, so we cracked jokes and lingered for about an hour. The tasting room is inside a former barrel storage barn, and has a nice, funky vibe. The flight is $ 15 for 6 – 8 tastes, most bottles are north of $ 40(topped at $ 60 I think), but the rosé was a very good value at $ 14.

Babcock has the best syrah with an identity crisis ever! well, it is the first time ever I have a syrah that wasn’t a red… very tasty! Their tasting room was very cozy and warm. We were greeted by the cutest cat ever, I forgot his name but I’m pretty sure he is at least 10 years older than me. Oh and this winery is the only one that actually gave us our glasses once we were done with the tasting. I have enough glassware to last me at least 3 major earthquakes but still, I thought that was a nice touch. Overall this place was great, their wines were really good and the staff was welcoming and friendly.
