Lovely Pinot Noirs which I wasn’t expecting. The staff is friendly. This Vineyard was a nice surprise. Check it out.

My favorite Pinot is here. I love the 2 sisters brand. Pricey but worth it too me. I also am not typically a white wine gal, but I love their steel aged Chardonnay and they have a oak aged one that is so buttery. The grounds are lovely and the tasting room open with lots of seating. We always have wonderful customer service. I love the wine here.

Me and my Boyfriend wondered into this winery and had a blast! It was without a doubt the highlight of our trip! The wine was amazing and equally matched by it customer service. Kim took her time to tell us about every wine we were tasting and even showed us on a map where the grapes were picked. Luckily we came at a time that was not super busy because she was able to give us a mini tour of the barrel room and showed us how the make their delicious wine. The whole staff was warm and welcoming. Rachel and Veronica were helping is as well. Thanks girls for such a wonderful experience !

Wines were good. Showed up with a group of 9 and they wanted to charge an extra $ 5 per person for having a group reservation. Manager was rude. Too many better options in the area to return here after that treatment.

Left the tasting with a bit of a buzz(yay). Was served more of the wines I indicated I liked. Had to go before I bought anything.

Great wines, and even better service! Had April pour for us and she was so friendly and knowledgeable. The quality of wine is superb. A must stop if you are in the area!

We were the only ones there at the time of our visit. The woman pouring was very nice, and knowledgeable. The wines were good, the whites were the best. The Syrah was our favorite of the reds. The tasting room is a little sterile, but the grounds beautiful.

This winery has many options, all of them good ones. The Stainless steel Chardonnay was so good, and the price was super, but most of the other chardonnays were richer, and had been aged in oak, tasty, but pricey. The favorite of the day was the 2013 Pinot from the Sta Rita Hills, fruit, smoke, and long finish… great qualities of a Pinot Noir. Veronica provided me with some great local information, and she was really genuine in her enthusiasm for the wines. I will return when in the area. The grounds are beautiful, and the short drive from Buellton is worth it to taste here. Cheers!

We came to Foley on a Saturday morning for some wine tasting. It was $ 10 per person to taste. We started off with whites(mostly Chardonnays) and luckily we were able to taste the roset before moving on to the reds. The roset was a little to tart for my taste. I tend to enjoy more white wines, but I was attracted to their red wines here. Those of us who bought wine, we ended up buying red wines. Our wine tasting host was entertaining and awesome! The place itself is super cute. They have a patio in the front with picnic tables. We were able to bring our own food in, and there was also a food truck parked in front where some of us bought salads and sandwiches. They also sold cheese, olives and meat platters that we could have with our wine. They have a back patio, but it was closed because they were setting up for a wedding. I’m sure it’s a super pretty place to have a wedding when it’s all done and set up! I wish we were able to see glimpse of that set up.

Kim, Laura and Kevin were amazing! The wines were spectacular. We could have spent the whole day with these guys! They took amazing care of us and we joined the wine club! Definitely stop here! Amazing hospitality and generous tastings!

Good wine and beautiful scenery. Just a lovely place to visit. We’ve been here many times as we are members of their wine club and we never leave dissappointed. This tasting room is large and comfortable and just very relaxing. The staff is nice and knowledgeable about their wines, which are pretty good. A little out of the way, but their wines are worth the drive.

Overpriced and not very good bang for the buck. There are better choices in the area.

Foley is a great place to stop if you like Chardonnays and other whites, and good pinots. They have a really nice lawn that you can sit out on and have a glass of wine. A really great time on a sunny day. Their sister winery Lincourt is my #1 fave, so definitely stop there if you haven’t already! You can actually get some of the same wine at Lincourt with a better atmosphere and pricepoint in my opinion. The pourers at Foley seem to be a bit more stingy than at Lincourt. As this is a Foley property, they definitely make great wine— so if you want a bit more of a «fancy» tasting room, it’s worth a stop.

Chardonnay and pinot noir were the best! Ask for Matt! He is extremely knowledgeable about the grounds, the terrain, and the wines! He takes great pics too. This is a great place to purchase souvineers! Lots of western antler décor and wine knick knacks. Bathrooms were immaculate and the foley handsoap was delightful! This is also a great spot to walk around and take pics. If I came back I would go closer to sunset. I bet the vineyard looks gorgeous when the sun is setting.

You know that one scene in «Sideways» where Miles hits his low? The one in the«prestige» winery filled with old folk and crap wine and merchandise everywhere? The one where he dumps a bucket of wine on his head? Foley Estates Winery is not that, but it is eerily similar in a whole lot of ways. Foley’s main market share seems the tour-bus crowd, its mission to forcibly administer a branded experience and market as much product as they possibly can by any means possible; Foley-branded suppository an optional means of administration. Walk into the somewhat sterile tasting room and be greeted with walls of merchandise, four tasting stations, and walls of t-shirts, glassware and other crap. Go for a tasting and be offered the opportunity to become«Friends of Foley»(platinum level offered for those who spend over $ 20,000 a year). Hunker down by their fireplace and watch a slow reel of Foley properties projected on a TV screen overhead. An unwelcoming back patio with decent views provides the only refuge from this onslaught. A marketing instructor will tell you that branding is everything, these guys get that. Settle down for a tasting($ 12) and you’ll find a portfolio of unremarkable, overpriced wines. Standouts included their barrel-aged chardonnay(with nice hints of lemon curd, vanilla, and peach), and their spicy(comparitively) lean pinot noirs, but at $ 50-$ 55 per bottle, I wasn’t intrigued enough to spring for one. Unfortunately, the unoaked chardonnay($ 30 per bottle) wasn’t particularly well-balanced, and lacked the faintest semblance of minerality and terrior. A syrah($ 50 per bottle) was unpleasantly redolent of smoke and leather, without the supple tannins and light fruit which would have helped it shine. Overall: You can do better in the Santa Rita Hills. Two Stars.

If you like whites and don’t mind paying for them, this might be the place for you. Definitely my least favorite of the foley family properties in the area, it feels a lot more pretentious. The pours are a little stingy and the people are not as friendly. Plus it’s a little out of the way. Not a huge fan.

I’ve been in Foley twice and each time the service has been exceptional. On my most recent visit, Emily, Julie, and Susan behind the counter were great fun to converse with and the three provided quite a bit of acute vinous knowledge and great conversation beyond the nerdy wine monotony. The setting is absolutely idyllic, and while it seems a bit ridiculous to me — that is, for one to throw around stars concerning the perceived quality of the wine. There is no doubt that the range of Foley wines are skillfully crafted. Wine wouldn’t be too much fun if all the subjectivity was sucked out of it.

This review is as a non drinker. I went with a group of friends, as I was told the wineries are lovely(and they are). I had several questions about all the food products they had for sale — they do not have any samples and were not willing to provide samples. The staff said it was because their manager was not there, and they didn’t feel empowered to do so. I have since gotten a message from the organization stating it was due to health code reasons. Please let your staff know that that is how they should inform people asking for samples, instead of making it sound like they COULD give samples but just aren’t at that time. Nice patio in the back. Had live music at the time.

3-stars for the wine. Nothing particularly remarkable. Their Pinots are drinkable but not all that special. 3.5-stars for the service. Friendly and attentive, but not overly informative. No information about where they grow their grapes, what the soil is like or what the climate is like. I like to hear about where the grapes are grown. I want to know what makes the wine taste the way it does. 4-stars for the winery grounds. The grounds are beautiful, but there is no doubt this is run by a larger organization(corporation). I believe they are now associated with Firestone. We were there around Christmas, and the tasting romm was decorated nicely. The even had a fire in the fireplace. I don’t really have anything bad to say just that their are other wines in the area that I prefer.
