I had been dealing with tough times recently and needed help getting back on the right track. I was referred to this facility through my insurance company. Dr. Stepanoff is helping me as a psychologist and he is absolutely great! He took over my Disabilty and has helped me get the resources and references I need to get through my trauma, including getting involved with the IOP program. Daniela is my therapist, she is very well versed and absolutely the best. She teaches a DBT group as well that has been extremely educational and helpful in my recovery. I highly recommend this facility and their team!

(Huntington Beach) I finally received confirmation of my Bipolar 1 disorder! Dr. Stepanoff makes sure to rule out (or in) by not just seeing you, but busts out the old school methods including the «Profile Questionnaire» I haven’t seen since Grade School testing for GATE! Yes, it is a long process, but these are time some of the best ways to get a cut & dry/​pinpoint area (for me, areas) to focus on. I was given an AADD test… Ruled that out, even though I knew I didn’t have it, but I didn’t mind… It was a challenge so I had to beat it.
I am not a «Group» person, and ABIMH accommodated me and never forced «Group Therapy» on me. I was One on One with a wonderful Councilor and seen at a convenient time for me once a week!
I only gave 4 stars because of the Psychiatrist in the Huntington Office was just a Prescription writer when I was there, and she did not listen to me. I have been on medication for 18 years, I know what works and what doesn’t… I was also tired of her telling me that I should be married, that a Man would make me happy and I would not need medication… ??
Ladies & Gentleman, «A Man» is never «The Answer» and you cannot rely on someone else to make YOU happy. Sheesh, she was a Quack. This was NOT the Fault of ABIMH, it was what the Insurance companies «allowed» them to have… I truly hope they were able to get a new Psychiatrist.

I’ve suffered from bipolar depression, anxiety disorder, and alcohol addiction most of my life cycling from depression to mania. At the end of 2015, when I was at one of my lowest points, I found Advances and Breakthroughs in Mental Health. It included every aspect of what was necessary to help me improve my life.
Psychologist, Dr. Stepanoff, provided me with a thorough diagnosis. Tammie, Diane, and Crystal are excellent counsellors who gave me support, taught me coping skills to better manage my life, and coordinated family involvement, among other things. My therapist, Jane, continues to help me with my mental health and various other issues. Psychiatry, especially, played a major role in my getting better. The clerical staff does a superb job. They all know their stuff!

I sent an email inquiry on a Saturday and Dr. Benjamin Stepanoff called me back within hours! He’s very caring, understanding and I see him at his other location in Huntington Beach. He has a wonderful team of doctors, counselors and group therapy. I was so thankful to find him, as well as, the great new coping tools I’ve learned!

This center is on the Main Street but the main lobby is on the side of the building. It’s across from a park and a plaza. There is plenty of parking is on the street and there parking structure in a small street.
The center is in the 3^rd floor and there’s small signs leading you to the center. Make sure to follow them cause there is a lot of small halls.
I had been searching for a center like this for awhile. I’ve been through some horrific centers where they either A: judge you or B. Just try to fix you by just giving you higher dosage of medication and Really not caring what got issues are. I suffer from a general anxiety disorder for awhile now. I have been going to therapist for four years now and she always recommend for me to go on medication. I really did not want to and felt like I can do everything on my own. But that wasn’t working much. So I tried and had no luck in finding a place that was helpful. Until this center. They are extremely helpful and genuinely want you to better.
If you are seeking for help please don’t hesitate, they will take care of you.

This is a wonderful place for anyone who has some kind of psychological issue. Dr. Stepanoff was the first person I saw here and he’s such a nice man. My therapist, Ashley also taught me very useful techniques and I owe her so much. Roy my psychiatric nurse which handles my prescriptions is also a nice guy. I absolutely love this place and everyone in it! If you suspect you or someone you know have some kind of psychological issue you should absolutely refer them here. They live up to their title. They also accept insurance in case anyone is worried about their budget.

This place has been a god-​send to me. I had an initial consultation with Dr. Stepanoff, and he referred me to Dr. Madison Brightwell because she specializes in trauma therapy, and she is just amazing. I look forward to seeing her each week. I was seeing her twice per week, but have since reduced it to once per week. She is so understanding and knowledgeable and willing to help. It’s as if I am coming to hang out with and talk to a friend. No apprehension here. I am very glad I found this office.
