Enjoyed the French macaroons, palet raisin, even the southwest salad. Can’t wait to return!

This is the best place for french rolls. Crispy Soft inside and delicious. Also try their dinner rolls. I been coming here for twenty years now. Wow long time!

Babette’s is definitely a cornerstone of Long Beach. They are well known and serve a lot of the community through delivering their freshly baked goods to cafes throughout the city. Years ago they were once strictly cash only however they now accept all major credit and debit cards with a payment minimum of $ 10.00USD. The atmosphere is warm and cozy with warm colors used throughout the bakery. There are small round tables in the front room for parties of 2 – 6. It’s fairly small so larger parties should be wary of making plans to sit down. The quiches and sandwiches are amazing! Very rich, filling, and absolutely heavy. This will definitely be enough to fill you up all the way until dinner. I highly recommend their très leches or any of their breads/croissants. They typically keep those items relatively fresh. However I would be wary of their cookies and muffins. The cookies are not chewy and tend to be quite difficult to bite into. The muffins are dry, dense in an unpleasant way, and flavorless. I tried the almond-strawberry and was very disappointed because it was slightly burned. Bottom line: if you want a bite to eat, don’t mind old coffee, and are keen on fresh bread, this is the place for you. Babette’s is a cute bakery with kind service and decent products.

Seriously that good. I’ve been on this macaroon trip lately, searching for ones comparable to Botegga Louie in Los Angeles. Can you believe it… I found it here! What’s even better is that they’re like a $ 1 cheaper and they give you an extra one for asking for a stack of 12! I told the nice lady to choose her favorite, so she gave me each one. My favorite, of course, is the pistachio. Will go back to try the other beautiful pastries and breads. Yum! ! !

This place is ok. I like their macaroons and fruit tarts. Their pastries are not that great and their a bit stingy on chocolate in the chocolate croissants.

There sandwiches are plain; there’s nothing great about them however their pastries are good and on the cheaper side. My favorites are the lavender macaroons with chocolate filling & they’re walnut, chocolate & coconut bars.

Unassuming from the outside and no frills inside, but the desserts here were super tasty! Service was nice and the prices more than fair, had I known it would be this good I would have gotten more. Tons of easy and free parking in the skeezy lot out front, seriously this area is not great. I went with a raspberry linzer cookie, not sure that is what they call it there, but it was amazing, so fresh and tasty, exactly like I remember them tasting as a kid. The pecan bar also super super tasty, crunchy, sweet, chewy, i really enjoyed it. This is one of those places where you don’t judge a book by its cover and just go in and fill up a box with everything that looks good to you, most prices were well under $ 2 each. Quality is fantastic, so is presentation, can’t wait to be back for more!

I absolutely love this place… I’m new here from N.Y. and I was so happy to find this place. I’ve been in a few times for there Macarons, but today, I decided to try one of my many faves,“Cocolate Chip Cannoli”… The presentation was very nice, but unfortunately the crème was a bit grainy. I’ve grown up around Italian bakeries and I must say I was a bit dissapointed when I took my first bite, into the cannoli. As for everything else here… I would definitely recommend this place!

The BEST sandwiches ever. EVER. That’s really all you need to know, but I’ll expand for good measure. I’ve been coming here since I was old enough to walk here from Poly HS, and I seriously can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it before now. The bread really makes the bakery, it’s the crunchy crusted french bread that’s super soft on the inside. When you bite into the sandwich it almost makes the roof of your mouth bleed, but in a great, and delicious, amazing way, if that makes sense. It probably doesn’t make sense, you’ll just have to take my word for it and try it. They do basic sub style sandwiches on these little french rolls that are to die for, I’d kill for one. They do roast beef(my fav), turkey, ham & cheese, normal stuff. At some point, they’ve expanded, and they also do breakfast grilled type stuff during the day. Quiche, other eggy type things, regular lunch type stuff, other hot sandwiches. They do soup. Really good and yummy soups. My fav is their potato leek. They also have salads, pasta salads, panini type sandwiches, etc. Endless options. Everything I’ve tried is good. Did I mention desserts? They are a bakery, so they have fruit tarts, macaroons, cookies, scones, and other baked yummies. They’re always busy, you can call your order in ahead of time. They have a couple little bistro tables if you want to eat there. The only down side, if you call it a down side, is it’s in the hood. Right between a liquor store, and the pharmacy that you can pay your utility bills from inside. The parking lot is frequently crowded with transients and high school kids, but it’s also huge so there is always somewhere to park.

The price of Macaroons were $ 1.50 each. When you purchase 12, you will get one for free. They will put 12 in a nice box. I took them to Japanese gathering and all my friends liked them, even a people who didn’t like macaroons before. Problem that some macaroons can have is that if they aren’t fresh, they can go dry. Its not a case here at Babette bakery. Their macaroons were fresh and moist that were perfect desert that were enjoyed by all.

Macarons were great. Lots of variety with the pastries and baked goods. Apparently French rolls are really good. The people in line ahead of us were all buying 5+ each. One guy bought 2 dozen. BUT I agree with other reviews. They are not organized with the lines. They should have a number system or something. 1 guy got really pissed when he realized the people behind him were getting their orders taken before him(he still bough 1 dz rolls)

Well, as I often do when I’m in unfamiliar, far-away territory, I tend to make a food«tour» for the day. What started out at George’s Greek restaurant in Long Beach and a walk around the corner to DoLy’s Delectables for a taste of macarons, it then turned into a short jaunt to Babette Bakery because of my ongoing(and probably neverending) quest for the BEST macaron. Well, I can tell you now that from my perspective, in terms of the MACARONSONLY, Babette clearly beats out DoLy’s… both in terms of texture and most definitely, flavor. I had NO trouble telling what the flavors were regardless of their representative color, and they were all excellent. Babette, like DoLy’s, had basically the same standard flavors, but I liked the macarons so much more from Babette. We tried lemon, coffee, salted caramel, raspberry, strawberry, pistachio, vanilla and blueberry. Lemon was my favorite with an instantaneous burst of lemony goodness amid the almond nuttiness of the cookie, and the texture was spot on… soft, chewy, but not too soft and definitely not too chewy. In terms of flavors, the strawberry and blueberry were next in line, and honestly, I don’t think I’ve had a more blueberry-tasting macaron than this one. Impressive !! The other flavors were spot-on, too, although the raspberry was my least favorite of them all. This bakery has so much more than macarons, but quite honestly, we tried none of it… beautifully showcased as they were. They also have an entire lunch menu, but again, we weren’t there for any of that.

My go to place for some of their pastries and french bread. Sandwich is way over priced for the amount of meat that you get so I would stay away from that. Especially if you can try other dishes. Though I will admit it’s quite tasty and I might order it from time to time I recently tried their chicken picatta and was actually disappointed in the way it was made. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor, lemon included. I had to ask the server for extra lemon and threw a bit of salt to make it better. Mac n cheese wasn’t that great either, not cheesy and watery. Some of their pastries are great! I love their coconut dipped in chocolate and th price isn’t that bad! Bread loaves can be sliced upon request but it’s one size only.
