I went here with a groupon…2 mugs of beer and a pretzel for $ 19…something along those lines. Beers were great, pretzels and dipping sauces were delicious, great service and cool atmosphere. Definitely will be going back!

What one would hope to find in a Biergarten in Long Beach. Friendly atmosphere with a great beer selection. The pretzel is delicious. Wasn’t crazy about my fish schnitzel; it was more like fish and chips(battered versus breaded). There’s a parking lot, which is a rarity in the area. It is usually full during peak hours, but it’s possible to find street parking if you hunt around for a bit.

I had a party here and I could not be happier with the service. The owner and his staff were all friendly, easy to deal with and clearly like what they do. I knew the beer would be good and was happy to find the food delicious — we had appetizers for the party — pretzel, sauerbraten wings, bratwurst and sauerkraut, and potato pancakes. The atmosphere was perfect as well. Everyone had an excellent time!

Really neat little spot on the outside of The West End in Long Beach. Picnic tables, servers(women only) in lederhosen. Great beer selection, food was good, too. I only tried the potato salad and pretzel but they were both really good. Will return for a more German-style experience when I have an appetite for pork, bratwurst, schnitzel, or sausage, I’ll be sure to visit again!

This restaurant was very busy and looked More like a sports bar then a German resturaunt. There are several large tables with benches that are shared with other guests. Nice selection of beers. My wife enjoyed her saurbratin dinner but it was a very small portion. I had the 3 wursts dinner, it was ok, nothing special. The homemade rice pudding was excellent for dessert. Service was very slow as there seemed to be 2 wait staff and no bus boy. Although very busy, they were cheerful and helpful explaining the menu.

October — fest fun. These guys know how to throw a party. Delicious beer at a perfectly chilled temp. Food… well you don’t go there for gourmet. Five stars for bar and fun. Three stars on food. Overall really good. Enjoy

Great German spot and Long Beach’s best NY Rangers bar! Beer is fresh and always tastes great. Their food portions are great and always served fresh, never disappointed. Service is always great, bartenders are friendly and socialize with their patrons and are never pretentious. Always a great time. PROST!

First off, not sure where the«garten» part is. Very misleading. This place is a small indoor bar with German décor. The entire place is decorated with pictures little kids have colored in. The BAR is way too kid friendly. I mean there is nothing I enjoy more than sitting in a fake biergarten with kids all around me. Beer selection is decent but not extensive enough to warrant a biergarten. It does NOT have an outdoor seating area or any outdoor area at all. The bathrooms were fly infested and filthy. One of the bartenders was either stupid or high as a kite because ordering from him was like pulling teeth. Highly doubt I will return.

Outstanding German restaurant with really affordable prices(6 $ for a half liter? Sign me up!) We ordered a variety from the menu. Potato pancakes were solid. The pretzel with obatzda cheese was good but I’d rather with mustard. Schweinhaxe was incredible, better than what I had at Hofbräuhaus when I was in Munich. Sauerbraten was tender with a nutmeg sauce(which I love but some people don’t). Red cabbage was good. Dumplings and potato salad were good but not as memorable as the meat dishes. Beer was just about all German and had quite a few types that are uncommon even in bottles. Give the place a try. It’s worth it as good German restaurants are hard to find.

OMG! Just tried the new summer menu — the lobster roll was absolutely delicious! So fresh and was not heavy at all! The BBQ schnitzel pizza was AMAZING! The atmosphere in this place is so lively and just invites a good time! I love that the staff is so accommodating to all patrons. My boyfriend tried the«pork shank» that was recommended to him and loved it! it was fall off the bone tender & juicy! Um, lets not forget about the beer! Some good strong German beer! This place is exactly what Long Beach needed! Something different and awesome! We’ll be back soon!

I’ve been here twice with friends, love the beers, the food is right where it should be. A friendly welcome, makes for a friendly atmosphere. I wish they would have had maybe a second waiter for a friday night during a rangers play off game. One of the things this place has going for it is the parking!. We come from the AB bridge and its a nice quick place to stop(first restaurant in long beach coming from the west).. Goodluck & keep up the good work !

Alright Das Biergarter, I’m in. Love that the owners took this basic looking building and really turned it into a beautiful theme bar. Inside, skylights flood the place with sun, and the walls have been painted to simulate the ambiance of a traditional outdoor beer garden. Naturally, wooden picnic tables line the room where patrons intermingle, play board games, and sip giant steins of about 10 or so varieties of authentic German beers. What throws this place over the top is the food… it won’t call it «authentic» German, because I don’t really know, but it sure is good. The beer cheese soup? Yes please. Giant kielbasa sandwich with fresh kraut on a pretzel roll? Don’t mind if I do. Can’t wait to try everything else. A warning– be careful with those mugs of beer… they can really sneak up on you, especially if you’ve also been pressed into a shot ski or two.

Delicious beer. German food aside I am actually putting this place on my top list for wings in the area. Great wings.

Great atmosphere with friendly staff. The pretzel and the potato pancakes are delicious. The open plan makes it noisy so if you want to have a conversation go during the week.

Food is ok. The place is so bright you’ll need sun glasses. It kind of made me want to move on to another restaurant. Prices were average.

Love this place!!! Staff is so friendly! We only tried the pretzel, which was delicious, but if like to come back for dinner. Great atmosphere with friends. Communal tables, great for large groups! Problem is, no one knows about this hidden gem!

Love Das Biergarten. The owner is always friendly and greets us with such enthusiasm. The beer is great; order the boot if you’re thirsty! The food is AMAZING especially the pig knuckle and pretzel. Such a great, welcome addition to the community!!! Always a fun night at Das Biergarten

Great german food with pretty good prices. If you like MEAT, get the Pigs knuckle. Its a huge bone of pork with fall of the bone tender meat. Service can be slow for food but the bar service is great and they are happy to let you try any of the beers before you buy
