The Cabana

Thought the food was horrible for Mexican. Seems that’s the theme for long beach. If the guacamole is bad it’s the start to a unflavored dinner which it was. Margaritas were weak and seems watered down.

Not great. Not bad. Seemed to be run by kids, which isn’t bad in-​and-​of-​itself, but definitely inflects the service. Portions were very large. Probably a better place to get lunch and a drink than dinner.

First off, if you cant take some noise and a little closeness… this may not be the place for you, but if it doesn’t bother you and you like great food and mind blowing margaritas. this is your place. It gets busy, grab a beverage, hang out, chat… enjoy life, the table will be ready faster than you think. Quesadillas are a good starter, the shrimp and rice… oh so good. I’ve explored the menu and have always been happy. This is a Long Beach joint. You’ll learn to love it quickly.

Best tacos in long beach, all the food is outstanding. The margaritas kill it. Alittle on the small side but great outdoor seating in the summer. AND A PARKING LOT IN THE WEST END.

So I’m going to have to disagree with one of thr other peoples comments towards this place natasha and say that the last 2 weeks ive been here my server was not only unattractive not very friendly or helpfully fortunately the rest of the staff makes up for including one of yhe younger guys that’s friendly and helpful and realized I’m here all the time I come here after I surf for good food which they have and drinks. Taco tues id great by def try some of there other. Stuff its great

The atmosphere is ok with nice music in the background. Is handicap accessible so that’s a +. Especially if some one in your party is handicap.
My salad was great but it have his fry bread that’s it was a killer.
My family food was good. With the exception of the black beans that were dry. But I will say that I will give it a try again.

It’s so bad that we stopped at one appetizer and wanted to leave this joint. A restaurant run by teenagers is what it felt like. Service is inexperienced and terrible. We had to ask for utensils after our hot appetizer was out for 10 minutes-​ridiculous! I wouldn’t spend another dollar at this place, nor a single minute of my life. Get your act together cabana!

I am torn with this place. The margaritas are amazing and will knock you on your ass, so be careful. The food is hit or miss. It’s not bad, but I’ve never been blown away by their food. Taco Tuesday is a good deal and they are decent. I return there with my husband more for the hole-​in-​the-​wall ambiance, attentive service, margaritas and apps, but the rest of the entrees can be better.

Stopped here for a drink with my husband, we wanted to sit at the bar because it was hot out. The bar was sticky and so was the menu that the bartender handed to us. I ordered a cucumber lime martini which was pretty strong, my husband ordered a blue point which he always enjoys. The reason I am giving it 2 stars was because of the cleanliness of the bar and the overall indoor vibe. The owner was counting money at the bar and the staff, plus their friends were hanging out at the bar. We won’t be back.

The downhill slide continues
In all the years I have been with my husband, he has never had to get up from the table and find a waitress to hand her his credit card and ask (still politely) for the bill. Cabana is a VERY average little taco joint. Thoroughly average in every way, and not cheap. If you had horrible service to the mix, you might as well cross it off the list entirely.

Good reasonably priced Mexican food. Really good margaritas !!! Barbara’s original margarita is delish!

Came here spontaneously on the fourth of July. The prices are very reasonable. Was hungry, but not starving, so I got a side of rice and beans, which was the perfect portion. The chips, guacamole and salsa were great as was the signature margarita (which I got frozen). Parking is the only issue, especially on a holiday/​weekend. The bar can get crowded and you can only sit at a table if you plan to get food

I’m not sure if this was by accident or design but our visit to Cabana turned out to be a true waste of time. The ticket to our order was at first missed by the kitchen. The waiter apologized and gave us the choice of a free round of drinks or 20% off the final tab. We took the drinks and waited about 20 more minutes before he came back and shook his head about the kitchen missing our order again. Stuff happens but the waiter’s insistence on us taking the food to go was the last straw, so we went. I didn’t like the subterfuge and I’m not sure I’m gonna let my family eat that to go order. Something didn’t feel right and it’s a shame because we went in there believing in the venue’s potential. Went to eat and left hungry and somewhat demoralized. What year is it again?

Had the wings on Wednesday, which were .25 each if you had 2 drinks. NO PROBLEMO AMIGO. Only thing is, we also did the guac (which was awesome), and I only want 5 wings… minimum order was 10. The wings were nice and spicy and big, but breaded which is not my favorite.
I went with the steak taco, and it was perfect. At first I thought it was overstuffed, but it folded easily and held together. So tasty. The problem? This was the worst beans and rice I’ve ever had– absolutely tasteless. I hardly ate any, and my dining companion also left hers untouched.

Where to begin? Well first of all if you’re not feeling super hungry right Away it’s the perfect place because you’ll wait a solid fifteen minutes Atleast for a table then after you’re sat at a table meant for two people even though you’re of group of three it will take another twenty to forty minutes for the complimentary chips to arrive (which are also the best part of the meal) then you’ll have another forty minutes to enjoy the drunk groups singing the national anthem in your ears while you wait even longer. Then you can enjoy your slushed «frozen» margaritas. Your waitress most likely will go missing for a majority of the meal and greet you with a nasty look on her face cause she probably doesn’t care how everything is ;) ahhhh the beach life is good. Quality service and exceptional dining. Not. I had to give a star to post this but let’s be real. One star is being nice.

Went with a couple people. We all had various margaritas, which we all liked a lot, and which were nice and strong. That was definitely the high point of the meal. The chips and salsa were decent, though nothing special. It certainly could’ve been jar salsa with a few extra, fresh ingredients added to make it seem homemade. The guacamole we had was certainly decent, but nothing special.
We all had tacos and chimichangas, and we were all pretty underwhelmed with our food. None were terrible but none were that good. I had some jerk chicken tacos, which were adequate, and which had some good toppings. However, they had an MSG-​like aftertaste, which I didn’t care for. The aftertaste was also evident in the totally perfunctory rice and beans. The rice and beans were just added to take up footprint on the plate, so they could justify charging $ 13 for two tacos.
The tables were sticky and the menus were greasy. The outdoor seating area’s alright. There was completely overmodulated music coming from a speaker, which added nothing since it sounded bad. Service was fine, at least.
Would only come here for drinks and maybe appetizers after I’d had a couple drinks (definitely not a main course). An authentic Mexican place would’ve been better and less expensive. This place wasn’t super expensive, but it was a letdown for the price.

This is my favorite spot to go to on a Tuesday! TACO TUESDAY! Tacos are $ 1 with a minimum of 2 drink purchase, which can also be non alcoholic. I went today with my girlfriend for the 3^rd time and the price and food is unbeatable. 4 tacos each and 2 drinks each came out to $ 20 with tip. You also get complementary chips and salsa at your table as well. I can’t wait to return after hitting the beach since the weather is now getting warmer. *** and outside seating is available.

Good looking waitress doesn’t really need this job. She was ok at best. Busgirl handles forks and knives from tines — really bad form and gross.
Food isn’t great. Tacos smothered in sweet syrup, no matter which one you order. The beer was warm. The margaritas were not good. We will not be back.

Chicken fajita was on point. Fresh and sizzly.
The chips and salsa they brought out — bleh. Don’t waist precious real estate in your belly.
Okay for a chill beach lunch but not a destination.

So I came here on a Saturday at 1:30pm with a coupon that reads «10% off entire check except taco Tuesdays, Saturday after 5pm, or Sunday brunch. Exp 9÷4÷14.» I presented the coupon to the waitress who was new, but very sweet… She took it and the manager returned to say «Sorry, I can’t honor this.» When I asked why she said «Because Saturday brunch is something new we are doing, we can’t take this.» I looked at the coupon with her and pointed out that I’m definitely within the times, but she says «Yeahhhhh, I can’t.»
I get that it may have been printed wrong (although it blatantly says Saturday after 5) but she, as the manager, should have at least honored it for this one time. It was obvious that not many people come with this coupon.
Yes, I’m giving them one star for this because it pissed me off!
