This place gets 3 stars because of the cheap beers, $ 2.50 all day everyday! So I went there for the 1st time about 2 weeks ago for the first time and sat at the bar. I couldn’t get over how bad it smelled in there/behind…most likely some type of plumbing issue but unfortunately I never got used to it and it almost ruined my experience. The bar patrons… ODD! The poor young bartender getting gawked at & awkwardly hit on all night by these guys that were just wasted and seemed like regulars. As far as the food goes — it was only fair… I had a Greek salad and the dressing was tasty and the pita bread warm. Otherwise nothing to write home about.

Expect what you pay for and this is a 5 star joint. A wolf in sheeps clothing. Sure the food is 2 – 3 stars. Sure the girls dont skate around like they used too. But now we have $ 2.50 tap beers all day every day. And we are talking Newcastle, Stella, Dos Equis, Sam Adams, Guinness and more. Great cold beer for diddly squat! $ 3 appetizers! Pizza, chili cheese dogs, chicken and beef sliders. Etc! And $ 4 strong wells. This is the place to great great cold beer for cheap and greasy mediocre food to wash it down. If thats all you expect — this place will please you tremendously.

This place isn’t as bad as the other reviews claim. The margheritta pizza was pretty good. It had a nice crust. The cheeseburger on sourdough bread was already pretty tasty. One thing I must note is that the fries were not good at all. They were soggy and some were even still cold so my boyfriend and I stopped eating it. The interior was hollywood-themed. Something you would see at Universal’s Studios or something. The other reviews had the service pretty spot on though. it is very slow. We waited a while for our check to arrive when we just wanted to go already. Don’t get me wrong, our waitress was really nice. They are just seriously understaffed. She was taking care of every other table in the restaurant. This restaurant has potential if they hired more servers and worked on the quality of their food.

Came for lunch and realized it must be a place people go to for dinner. We were one of 4 tables occupied. Servers were nice and professional. Got a window seat even. My friend ordered a club and I got their Frisco cheeseburger on sourdough bread with onion rings. Maybe because the place was so dead that it felt like it took forever to get our food. I don’t know, but it just seemed like it did. The cheeseburger was tasty but I have to admit I had a hard time finishing it. It wasn’t large and it wasn’t off-putting but I just didn’t want to finish it off. The tomato was just, well, not ripe enough to serve. The onion rings had a hard crust. Crunchy. Meh. Not terrible by a long shot but didn’t finish it either. It wasn’t greasy. I can’t say it was just the food, maybe I ate something earlier or last night, but I have to say this meal laid heavy on my stomach all night long. Like I ate lead. Otherwise I give this place two stars. I found it odd that with practically no one there that the hostess or someone else could cleared the table of patrons who left a good while after we got there. I repeat, the place was empty. Even with a skeleton crew someone could have taken 3 minutes and cleaned the table. Don’t think I would go back though.

Wow I’m surprised by all the bad reviews. My friend and I came in here last week for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised that they were having karaōke hosted by a great couple. The man especially was SOMUCHFUN! He was really getting the crowd going with all the music and even brought a group of people on stage to dance. The waitresses are on roller skates so I give them big props for that. We ordered a turkey melt and their frisco burger. Both were pretty good and I substituted my fries for the zucchini and it was yummy! The service was good and I just loved the fun atmosphere that they had here. I was kinda having a bad day and this place cheered me up. I’m planning on getting a bigger group and heading back ASAP!

We(my girl and I) came here for lunch a couple weeks ago, and realized quickly that this wasn’t its time to shine. It probably does great at night. As we walked in the place was pretty big and dark. Lots of space(dance floor?) in the middle seemed unused. The place was just empty. Our server rolled up on roller skates, and gave us menu’s. I looked around at the«Hollywood film» theme going around the place, the stage, and the TV’s. They must have bands play or Karaōke. Also they seem to be a sports bar with happy hour deals. The sandwiches we got were OK. As strange and the scenario was, the servers were attentive. I think this place is just many things during different times of the day and we just went during a time when it was a dinner without any change to the décor. I guess I need to check this place out at night.

OK this place went down hill… What happen a year ago they had great food, great service, pretty girls on skates… Now they just walk around, food is gross and service is horrible complete 360… I guess the recession hit them pretty good… Well this family own business needs to get there act straight or end up losing another business… I went a few days before that cause I enjoyed coming here before, and as walked in at 830pm they girl told me the kitchen is closed, but he bar is still open, are you kidding me… who closes at 830pm… thats weak… Oh well I guess the management knows what they are doing lol… well anyways thats a 1 star for them…

My husband and I came here for dinner on a Thursday evening, it was our first and last time we will be going to Friscos. We ordered hot wings for an appetizer. They tasted more like beef jerky dosed in hot sauce than anything else. We decided to order a pepperoni pizza and a burger because we wanted to try a sampling from the menu. The pepperoni pizza was not cooked through and was so unbelievably greasy. The burger was probably the best thing we were served, but it lacked any good taste and definitely not a burger I would expect to be served at a dinner. The two stars given were because the drinks are strong, the beer is cold and the servers ride around on roller skates.

I’m in love with the carne asada and jalapeño pizza they have here. I know they’re more known for their burgers, but this is a wonderful retreat from the norm. My car club meets here on the fourth Wednesday of the month. I’ve always enjoyed good service. The noise level is a tad high, so you’ll find you’ll need to speak up in order to maintain a conversation. There’s usually not a wait, and if there is one, it’s typically brief. The restaurant is kid friendly and the servers on roller skates offer a distraction for the kids because they’re not used to seeing that. The restaurant also offers a full bar with cold beer on tap. If you’re in the area it’s definitely worth a try.

Ok so my food was great just putting that out there first, i had the veggie burrito. my husband liked his burger but just the look of the grease made me feel sick. My issue was with the service and cleanliness. This was up there in the grossest places I have ever eaten, me and my husband had to joke around about it the entire time so I wouldnt get up in leave [which I attempted but he asked me to sit back down]. The service was so so slow BUT I understand the girl behind the bar was the only one working which isnt the smartest scheduling on a Saturday at lunch time. Anywho the waitress and the manager literally got in a screaming fight and that was the end of our nice lunch… The happy hour is good enough that we MIGHT go back but not any time soon

There are times when the Unilocal ratings are off. Then there are times when they hit the mark. I wish I could say that the reviews were on the spot great, however, this time it was on the mark, bad. The two stars are for the décor and the service. I kinda dig the classic diner feel and look. At least it’s a dark color not some obnoxious hot pink and white color scheme. The service was awesome. I don’t remember my server’s name but she was the only one on skates. Attentive. Friendly. Geniune. But then there’s the food. I ordered a Frisco with onion rings in place of the fries. I also had a Cherry Pepsi. The food came out relatively quick which is nice considering it was lunch time. Good sized portions which means big to me. If only the burger had big taste. Though it’s not all bread, it seems that was all I could taste. Bread. I guess it’s an acquired taste and I’m not one who is accustomed to bland burgers. I want and expect to taste the condiments that make up a Frisco Burger but in this case, it didn’t. Too bad too because the place is good for groups and there’s cool music playing. If you like the oldies and some classic rock — which I happen to.

If I could do half stars, that’s what it would be. I’ve come here with a medium sized social group on a monthly basis. Most of the time I don’t order anything because I’ve already eaten. We gather here again last week and this time I decide to order the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. This sandwich was boring and VERY mediocre, nothing special ATALL! I could not taste the«chipotle» and there were no distinct flavors from anything. I couldn’t tell if I was tasting the bread, the chicken, the sauce, the lettuce… it was all the same. To make things worse it was karaōke night! It was loud and while some sang pretty well, the people singing off key were painful to listen to. Service was good until we tried to pay the bill. I took 4 or 5 of the checks(with payment) over to our server because we were ready to go, NOW. After 10 or 12 minutes, we were still waiting for our change and /or credit card receipts A few of us went to the counter to get our change and it STILL took another 5 minutes! Bottom line? It was a cool place when they first opened, but unfortunately the quality of the food has gone, not just downhill, but in the toilet. If you want a FANTASTIC burger, chicken sandwich, etc, go to Fronks in Bellflower, it’s FAR — FAR superior! Hell, even In-N-Out is better then this…

Frisco’s hosted a cruise night for the BCMC car club. Small parking lot but made it work just fine. Great to see carhops on real skates. I ordered a classic bacon avocado burger. It was big and cooked well. I couldn’t finish the whole burger. It tasted great. I also ordered a Blue Moon and it came out super cold in a large glass. The portion to cost ratio was good in my opinion. There was karaōke set up and a few large TVs showing a basketball game. We had a group of 8 and we had no problems with seating. I do think the lighting can be better and the restroom could be cleaned up a bit. We had a fun time, thank you Frisco’s, I will be looking forward to the next cruise night.

Frisco’s you left me with the impression that there would be women on skates delivering my food. You lied! Even tho I was there for lunch Here are some quick words to you: You gave me the itis. I was bloated for hours. I’ve tasted better burgers. Good thing you offered a groupon! When I’m not on a diet I just might return for happy hour.

Frisco’s — I’ll give you this… nice theme: cute, young girls on roller blades. Not bad… I guess? Now for the food — EHHHHHHH… very bland! The fries weren’t even good, and it’s pretty hard to mess up on those. Don’t come here unless you want to check out girls, and have a burger that you swear you could make better yourself. I’m just saying. You money might be better spent at In-N-Out.

I have a love-hate relationship with this place. I used to go to the Downey location and it was like a staple. I always loved going there when I was in high school and now it holds a special nostalgic place in my heart. The Long Beach location is a different story. It’s like the Peach Pit After Dark. The hip/cool version of the original diner. But it really isn’t. It seems like I keep trying hoping it’ll be what I remember. I like the food… when it is cooked right and it doesn’t come out cold. I like the burgers… when I get the burger I ordered. I like the ribs… when they aren’t cold in the center. I love the fries… when they are all cooked. The service is ok, except when the waitress forgets to bring part of my order or when she insults my friend and tries to pass it off as a joke. Even the manager is derelict. I was overcharged once and the manager looked at the check and asked if I was sure we didn’t have the extra 2 burgers. Really? Four burgers for 2 people? That’s a bit much, even for me. Yes, I have had these issues and I kept going back. But I finally stopped. The bad finally outweighed the good and I don’t even think they care that it does. I may just wait it out for another 6 months and try again. I know, I know… I’m a sucker.

Oh, how I wish Jackrabbit Slim’s was a real place. I watched Pulp Fiction again the other day, and was disappointed to learn that Jackrabbit Slim’s was only a set built for the movie. I mean, who wouldn’t want to sit in a car/booth/table, eat a Bloody As Hell Steak and drink a 5 Dollar Milkshake(kinda quaint now that milkshakes go for about 8 bucks). I’m not saying that Frisco’s lives up to my Lofty and Made-up expectations of what a 50’s diner should be, but they do their own thing all right. The menu is pretty normal stuff overall. Not bad, mostly burgers. It’s safe and good, but nothing really stands out. But they get creative with their signature dessert, the Butterscotch cannoli: «Pastry roll filled with butterscotch, white chocolate chips, marshmallows and whipped cream. Served with vanilla ice cream.» The pastry part had a bit of freezer taste to it though. If it was frozen beforehand I wouldn’t be surprised. But the idea of it was great at least. Frisco’s is a pretty big place, with its neon lights and pink/black color themes it feels like an 80’s version of a 50’s diner rather than a full-on 50’s throwback. But it’s still a fun vibe. We were lucky to come when the entertainment was in full force. Someone had made reservations for a birthday party, so there was a lot of birthday-related spectacle: special songs, dances, and the inevitable conga line. The singer/mc was a lively fellow with a sense of humor who kept things rolling along. A friend of mine even chipped in on the piano. They knew plenty of songs, most of em hits of the era. If nothing else, Frisco’s has personality. The waitresses all run around in roller skates and hoop skirts. Our service was on top of things whenever we needed anything, and other waitstaff were happy to check in on us in between. Like any other restaurant, your preconceived expectations could make or break your experience here. Come in with an open mind and a casual attitude and you could have a good time. But if you are a dick, and find that«this place suxxorz», then it’s prolly your own fault.
