I don’t understand why people are bashing this place… I went there for dinner a few nights ago with my family and my food was AMAZING! My brother and I shared an appetizer of the mac and cheese bites and they were DELICIOUS! On top of that, I had the Rigatoni Nawlins as my main meal and I couldn’t get enough of it! It was all of my favorite foods in one dish and I didn’t want to put my fork down! Would definitely recommend this place to people who enjoy wine, scrumptious food, and good vibes!(Also, the dessert selection looked mouth watering! I didn’t get anything, but my brother got a slice of cheese cake and didn’t stop talking about it all night!)

We recently had a baptism party at Lola’s and I can not say enough good things about the day. Our guests loved the food and the atmosphere. We booked the party with Mark and he did an incredible job helping us plan and the execution was amazing. Through out the day our guests approached me and my husband to compliment us on the choice. We can’t wait to go back. They made our celebration a success!

Swordfish, sautéed spinach… Very fresh, very generous portion. Great margarita. Very nice atmosphere. And this from an L.A. snob…

Lola’s is where I go when I want to feel young. Always an older crowd with many interesting characters. Happy hour deals are great and always have a little buffet on Fridays. Food has been pretty good. They once had lamb sliders which were great haven’t seen them again. I keep going back for the elusive lamb sliders.

Came here for brunch. First time. Cute atmosphere and bar. No bread(«we ran out»). We had to ask for water four times. Cocktails were $ 3! However, it was the worst Bloody Mary ever. Food was just ok. To top it off, the waitress was beyond edgy and passive aggressive. Would not come back. That being said, several friends have reported enjoying dinner there.

This is a fun place to go especially in the summer. I had a hamburger and the fries were great. They make great drinks. The atmosphere is quaint.

We went for the price fixed Valentine’s dinner and were very pleased. The price was perfect and the selection was great. Surf & Turf on a price fixed? Of course I will! Service was great. Staff was very friendly.

Dynamite. The servers are always lovely. The food prepared with care and precision. Don’t be afraid to try something new. We’ve visited 7 – 8 times and never been disappointed. Wine selection is nice. Thumbs way up

DINNERREVIEW Saturday Night Dinner Called ahead for seating — no problem WINE list menu is most likely from the local liquor store, poor selection. SERVICE was good and my waitress was very kind AMBIANCE very cozy however after looking around closely I noticed that there wasn’t really anything exciting about the place. The kitchen was visible from a glass wall which I found to be tacky. And my boyfriends view was the bar and a wall of hundreds of stacked up cups. It was a date night, so you could imagine my boyfriend and I were excited to be trying a new place! We both walked away happy to have tried this place, but for unusal reasons. We were happy we tried lolas so that we could cross it off of our list and never go back! THEFOOD this is truly where my opinions are sold… and lost. Lots of dumpy, unknown places can have the best foods on the other hand some places are beautiful set, elegant and impressive and then they give you a 10 page menu filled with shitty food. Lolas Wine bar is definitely ranked under cute with crappy food category FIRSTDISH– fried Mac and cheese balls. They weren’t the best I’ve ever had, but I had no complaints. My date and I did want some hot sauce and after seeing«Louisana Hot Sauce» on the menu, we were excited! When I asked our waitress for the LHS she looked confused but said she’d bring it over… SHEHANDEDME A BOTTLEOFCHOLULASAUCE! I was embarrassed for her and the restaurant. MAINCOARSE: I wasn’t at all impressed with the menu so I went and got the friend Calamari. I asked for original crispy with marinara and Asian dipping sauces on the side. To remind you the entrée title on the menu is «CRISPYCALAMARI.» The Calamari was anything but crispy. I ate one and had a hard time chewing it. It was rough, undercooked, rubbery and just god awful. I unfortunately had to request for it to be taken back and just cooked a little more. Second time around they sent out BURNTCHEWYRUBBERYCALAMARI! As a chef you have to say to yourself, wow this looks like shit and probably tastes like shit, maybe I shouldn’t send this out. For the first time in many many years, I sent my dish back for good. They did kindly remove the squid from our bill with no problems. MYDATESENTREE: STEAKTIDBITSANDWICH. Sounds good right? It was literally a Philly cheese steak that looks like it could have possibly been pre made, frozen and heated up before serving. The sandwich came with a side of fries and those were the bomb. Probably my most favorite part of the meal. THEDRINKS: old fashioned: awful, weak, muttled cherry and orange peel made it difficult to drink out of straw — again low alcohol $ 16 for crap I got a coconut martini — all I’ll say is it tasted like a virgin drink! $ 13 for crap Would I suggest this place to family and friends? No

I think it’s a decent local joint for dinner, not super fancy but nice for a casual meal.

Meh… service was too good for 2 stars so I gave it three instead. I was just underwhelmed. It says wine bar but rely it is just an Italian joint. I mean there wasn’t any fancy pants cheese boards or anything that I was expecting. The menu was massive though, which is usually a sign of lackluster dishes and honestly thats what I found this to be. The interior is alright, not really wine bar like but cozy… I don’t really get the whole look. My friend and I ordered the Martini Flight. It was a Caramel Apple, Pumpkin and Cranberry Trio. It got be typsy but I’m pretty sure I just increased the probability of becoming a diabetic by like 50% with all the massive sweetness. I also ordered swordfish medallions in a pesto like pasta. Its tasted a whole lot better than what it looked like… I’m sure if I was sober I would have sent it back. They didn’t have a selection of sweet reds, only a Sangria which supposedly was a house blend… it tasted like feet. Overall? I’m sad. It was a bit of a drive from home but I tried it and got a new restaurant under my belt so thats the positive. I’ll stick to The Rock in Rockaway Park.

Really not worth it… Thursday night and the joint should be packed. It’s not and I wondered why. I found out when the entrees came. Bland and tasted of being frozen and reheated. Whether they were frozen is immaterial — that’s the way they tasted.

This restaurant is very elegant and has a design reminiscent of places that you find in the french riviera with beige and sea blue colors. The couches, wooden furniture and their glass see through kitchen are a nice touch. Monday Lobster, Clambake special is a great deal combined with happy hour drinks, a good way to end a day a the beach, before heading back to the city. Staff is very courteous and the seasoned bartender was very accomodating.

The $ 26.95 clam bake is a great deal(Mondays). I want to return to try out the regular menu and will adjust my review afterwards. This review encompasses the clam bake, service and overall experience from this past Monday. I called to make a reservation and the gentleman who took care of it was very friendly. Unfortunately, the rest of the service was mediocre at best. Maybe I’m spoiled? Maybe I’m skewed because I believe I was a pretty damn eager to please server back in the day. Whatever the reason, I feel the bartender who had one other patron he was handling as well as the service bar could have smiled, asked me if I wanted to see a menu, ask me if it was my first time there… even a simple«how are you today?» would have sufficed. Ok, on to the table: the service was ok and we enjoyed the warm chips they start you off with. We both ordered different wines by the glass and the clam bake was enjoyable. I’m eager to return to try their regular menu and will adjust my review at that point. Service is as equally important to me as food. Our waitress was fine and she didn’t do anything wrong. That said, what I find makes THE difference between good and great is the staff’s desire for you to enjoy your meal, have pride in where they work, show off a little knowledge about wine, beer, food, the world of dining! Engage the customer: ask them if they’ve been there before, ask them if they need help making a decision or have any questions. These experiences are out there, we thankfully have our go to places for great food & great service. This is why it’s so easily noticed when it’s missing. Not bad Lola’s, I’ll be back… but you can certainly do better.

BRUNCHREVIEW — Outdoor seating. $ 3 mimosas, bloody marys, sangria, screwdriver. — SCORE! The mimosa was good, but the bloody marys were disappointing. It was… what’s the word… piece-y? It was kind of chunky. Maybe too much horseradish? We had the calamari app — average. The fried mac & cheese balls — really good. And the quesadillas which were crispy, cheesy, goodness. My friend & I shared the fish tacos & steak tidbits. Both were great! Fries came out hot & crispy and the fish tacos were DELICIOUS — not fishy at all. The service was friendly & fast. .

I don’t know what is more disappointing about this place: the drinks, the food, or the service? All three were lacking during my visit today. The waitress had a horrible, snooty attitude and made several unnecessary remarks that were pretty unsettling. When she found out my friends wanted to order from the prefix menu she became very annoyed and interrupted me while I was placing my order. When I tried to repeat it, she exclaimed«I already heard you» I requested red sangria, she brought me white. Fine. I drank it and it tasted like a mix of tap water & sprite. My boyfriend had a fly in his drink so he politely told her and requested a new one. Her response: «oh what did that just fly in there or something?» Food was bland. I wouldn’t return even if it was FREE.

I came here for the first time with a gift card from some good friends and had a very nice lunch with my wife, they had a brunch menu so we ordered the pork tacos, shrimp cocktail and kung pao calamari all three were excellent and good size portions, middle course we had the watermelon feta salad which was very fresh and dinner my wife at the steak and eggs and I had the steak tidbit sandwich, steaks were cooked to perfection and again good size portions for lunch, sangria and white wine was really good three dollars for the sangria I think the wine was eight dollars at full price, I highly recommend eating outside on the sidewalk under the awning, has a nice Crossbreeze from the beach, The service was very good, our waitress was extremely attentive and friendly except the busboys kept dropping glasses and plates .we will def be back soon

I have been to Lola’s to eat a bunch of times always had great experiences. My mom decided throw my sister & I our joint bridal shower at Lola’s a couple weekends ago & everything was perfect! Edwin was phenomenal to work with and helped us plan everything from start to finish. They were able to accommodate our entire party of close to 70 people and had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Edwin was extremely friendly, reliable, professional and always easy to get in touch with. He & his staff went above and beyond for my sister & I the day of the party and we were very happy with the outcome. We had a Sunday brunch with a delicious buffet & added the unlimited brunch drinks package(mimosas, bloody marys, red & white sangria, coffee, tea & soda) Lola’s also provided an occasion cake with the party which everyone keeps commenting on how great it was! I would highly suggest Lola’s to anyone looking to host a party in the Long Beach area!(Added bonus — lots of parking by Lola’s) Thank you Edwin & Lola’s for helping us host a memorable Bridal Shower!
