Love our neighborhood Thai restaurant. Highly recommend it! Try the yellow curry, the papaya salad, and the Pad Thai. All yummy!

Love this place! Has become our new favorite spot. Try the yellow curry, pad Thai or any other wonderful dishes. The papaya salad is amazing as a starter.

As a Thai food lover, I can be very picky when it comes to my Pad Thai or my beef Panang curry. I have had excellent(and absolutely terrible) versions of both, but Manaow makes their’s to perfection! Every time I make the 7 hour drive home from school this is always my first pit stop(literally, I don’t even go home first). You wouldn’t expect it to be as amazing as it is considering it’s odd location, but trust me it is to die for! Go try it and make me super jealous!

Always delicious, better than any other thai around. Only thing service lacks a little when they get busy

Manaow knows what’s up! Take out was bomb! Service was spot on! They offered me water and kept coming by to give me updates on my order despite me getting there 15 minutes early. They GET customer service and the food is perfection! Order anything on the menu, it’s all superb!!!

Let me tell you about this place. It’s hard to find, or seems to be. But you’ll actually find it – and you’ll be SO happy that got there! GPS will take you to a small strip center on Broadway, and the first and second things you’ll see will be a liquor store and a huge laundromat. Right between them is Manaow, shiny and bright and friendly and spotless. And green.(We were told Manaow means lime in Thai.) In our experience, there’s nothing you can order that isn’t fantastic. The Drunken Noodles and Panang Curry with Beef are two standouts. Delish and served in style. If you’re up in the air about where to go tonight, this is definitely your choice. We live more than a half an hour away, with lots of Thai restaurants in our neighborhood, but we will be back soon and often.

I was here third-wheeling it on a long overdue dinner date at the suggestion of my coupled friends. They had been there before and really liked it, so now it was my turn to check it out. Décor is modern cozy. Lots of pretty woods everywhere. They even have a cute flower in a mini-vase on your table. I would totally come back here on an actual date. The seating is well spaced so that you won’t feel like your conversation is up in some other conversation’s business. The food is great. We ordered the Tamarind Chicken Wings to share, then got our own separate orders of Green Bean Chili w/Tofu, Panang Curry, and Drunken Noodles. I ate the Tamarind Chicken and Drunken Noodles so I’ll comment on those two. The Tamarind Chicken was flavorful but not overly sweet, and the sizes of the wings were big. You get 4 for $ 10. As for the Drunken Noodles, well, I don’t think I am a good judge of them because I have only ordered it twice in my life. Manaow’s Drunken Noodles are a little saltier than the one I had before. The flavor profile is also lighter. So it’s really whatever you prefer. A lot of people have raved about their noodles so don’t let my neutral review stop you from ordering it. Remember, Drunken Noodle noob here. Customer service here is amazingly friendly. Isn’t it nice when you’re served by nice people? +2 stars!

Really, really good Thai food. Pork skewers are the standout. Perfectly marinaded, salty, savory, slight sweetness, grilled perfection. And the sauce. Oh my, the sauce! Such a great balance to the meat. I can eat this all myself. Northern curry beef noodle is different, in a good way. Never had this anywhere else and it’s a great dish. Tender chunks of beef, light red curry broth, noodles… Yum. The green curry chicken is also good, as is the pad Thai. Honestly, I’ve never had anything here that’s been bad. The lemongrass tea is also very refreshing. Ok, enough. I’ve just stuffed myself and making myself hungry again reliving the experience!

I often walk through the neighborhood and am always excited when new, independent businesses open, especially when they are aesthetically attractive and unique. I’m equally, if not more so, excited when that new business is a restaurant specializing in my favorite. Thai. I have dined at pretty much every Thai restaurant in and around Long Beach. Manaow is absolutely my favorite. Fresh flavors, colorful dishes and unique offerings. Though I’ve enjoyed them in dishes, I’ve never seen a betal leaf appetizer like the one offered at Manaow. It’s weird and delicious with its roasted coconut, fresh lime, red onion, peanuts, ginger and tangy sweet shrimp paste sauce. I love it. My favorite entrée is the Southern Style Curried Noodles. My goodness. It is so flavorful and fresh. I absolutely love it. I enjoy it so much it’s challenging to order anything else, though nothing disappoints. This is a clean and conceptually beautiful restaurant from design & décor to menu offerings. If you haven’t been, please do go. And order a lemongrass iced tea.

Well, first time here and I have to say… The service, excellent! The food, freaking delicious! The venue, very hip and trendy. Love it! The only thing missing, beer. Other than that I Will most definitely be back and recommend.

This is a cool neat Thai spot. At first glance, the restaurant has the minimalist, clean, hipster look to it. Cool lights, a bright wall, light wood furniture, etc etc. My boyfriend and I sat down and ordered a drink sampler, pad see ew, and the garlic beef. The drink sampler was interesting. There were samples of drinks served in shot glasses: thai tea, thai coffee, lemongrass, a jamaica tea(?), and a tamarind drink. All were delicious! What was cool about this was that after trying it, you can pick your favorite and they give you a full size cup of it. Cool deal. The beef garlic was a bit on the salty side, but the egg was cooked perfectly(maybe fried then cooked in the oven? Pad see ew was standard. Prices are a little higher than my usual Thai spots, but tastes the same. Lunch specials seem to be a good deal here though.

This is the best Thai food I’ve ever had! The menu choices are more than I’ve ever seen and the flavors of even the simplest dishes were excellent. The inside of this hole in the wall restaurant is simple and clean, nothing fancy. I would have never noticed it driving by unless someone had taken me there first. We ordered the tom yum soup, which had calamari fishcake ground pork and meatballs; the green papaya salad which is the best I’ve ever had.. fresh, crisp spicy mouth watering; and the northern style curry noodles, slow stewed beef in red curry and coconut milk. I’m going to go back over and over and order everything on that menu!

Manaow Thai is a chic and modern restaurant in a place you would least expect it to be. I feel so bad for the laundromat and liquor store owners, because all the traffic in the narrow parking lot is for Manaow. If you’re going during peak dinner hours, you might want to try for street parking instead. The interior is really minimal and cool with the geometric patterns, and they had cool music playing(chill Drum n Bass?! Sweet). It was also super crowded with the dinner rush. My friend is pretty obsessed with this place, and it was his second time eating there that weekend. He highly recommended the Northern Style Curried Noodles($ 11), but I figured that I could just try some of his, so I chose the Southern Style Curried Noodles($ 11) instead. My only gripe with this place was how long it took for them to get our orders to us. We did have a large party of 7, but it just felt like they could have handled it better. When the food did come out, several came in succession, but the last one didn’t arrive until way later. Perhaps an understaffed kitchen? Any complaints vanished once I took a bite out of my dish. The Northern and Southern are like yin and yang. The Southern Curry was rich, slightly sweet, and bursting with flavor. The Northern Curry is just as flavorful, but it is all about the savory. Both were really delicious, and I highly recommend them both– what it comes down to is if you prefer sweet or savory for dinner. I ran out of noodles very quickly, so I just took the rest of my dish to go so I could have it over rice later. A wonderful addition to the already eclectic mix of restaurants in Long Beach. Manaow Thai is certainly a stand-out for me when it comes to Thai restaurants. Food: 5, Service: 4, Environment: 5, Price: 3

This was another case of not paying attention. My friend ordered the vegetarian curry dish and he received chicken with boiled eggs in it. They apologized and had his correct order brought. I do not know how the confusion over his order happened but a little care and attention goes a long way. Now for the review on their Thai food: my green curry with chicken was really good. The medium spicy level was the right kind of spice. My friend’s curry was alright. He did not eat all of it and took the rest to-go. Service was decent and the servers were nice. If only, they did not make that mistake with the vegetarian dish it would have been a much cooler and laid back experience. The restaurant is simple and has a kick back feel to it. The customers were young(college students I saw) and hipster-ish. The parking is a bit difficult but luckily I pulled up when someone was leaving. Street parking would be necessary. Their prices are a bit on the $ 10-$ 12 average but no matter, just a heads up. Would I come back to eat here: sure why not if I am in the neighborhood. Would I recommend it? Maybe. My sister has dined here before and she gave them a 3 Star rating. Manaow is fairly new but hoping the crew would care more to really pay attention and act like they really appreciate the new customers when coming in. Note: I am the guy that said, «We are new here and should we just sit ourselves anywhere?»

When I first pulled up, I wasn’t expecting much. The parking lot and exterior paint a bleak picture. The inside, however, is clean and modern — pretty fun and appealing. There are a lot of different menu choices, like duck larb and sticky rice with your satay. My mom was unhappy with the fact that no one here speaks Thai(usually an indicator of the quality of the food), but we enjoyed our meal. On my second visit, something in the food was lacking, so my overall score for this restaurant is actually a 3.5. I’m just rounding up for kicks. Both times resulted in a $ 70 bill, pre-tip, which I find fairly expensive.

I had lived in an area where food options were unlimited every night and afternoon. A little over the crowd in the area I asked my friends to pick me up and go to Thai food place nearby with less foot traffic for lunch. This sleek, modern, little resturant is situated between a liquor store and laundry mat just off Broadway and Loma. When you walk through the door there are two long wooden community table in the center of the resturant, booths to the left and a bench along the wall with tables and chairs lined up in front of it on the right. I love the geometrical shapes used in this place on the walls and lighting. It’s trendy but in a minimalist kind of way. I like the subtle details on the table. The numbers are carved in Thai on each table/section. Even the condiments came in a cute metal jars. The place I must say is very pleasing to the eye. Such an awesome vibe. We were greeted and seated promptly and given our menus. The only downfall I would say is on our first visit as soon as she handed us the menu she asked for our order and when we said we weren’t ready(mind you she had just handed to us) she took quite a bit to come back. We actually had to wave them to come back to us. Once we ordered our meal the food came pretty quick… one by one. So we were getting our meals at different times. Which sucks because we’re not eating together or if we wait our food will get cold waiting for the others to come. We had to sort of do it family style so we can all eat together which I wouldn’t mind had we planned it that way. Other times we came here they were more attentive. So I’d have to say service is a hit or miss here. The food. oh yummmmmy! Flavoring was on point. Not a dish I’ve had here disappointed my friends or I. Their portions are just right. We were always full after our meals. On cold or my sick days tom yum noodle soup is the perfect cure. I love that they also have duck Larb here! Roasted duck with lime juice, shallots and powdered rice extra spicy. Most places I have to special order if they happen to have a duck dish. I love duck! They have different rice options here as well jasmine, brown or sticky rice. They also have vegetarian options for some of my friends which is awesome! We love this place and although I just moved out the area a few days ago I’m already planning to visit again lol. This is definitely a go to spot in Belmont Heights. Check this place out and fall in like with it like we did. \(^-^)/
