I can understand why this place isn’t 5 stars… but I would rank it higher than 2 stars. I order the Chicken and Santa Fe rice bowls and the smoothies pretty regularly and I have no issues, the food is healthy and delivery is really easy. I have gone to Pita Grill with co-workers on multiple occasions and they liked it a lot. I do think that they are a little pricey and the service can be painfully slow when you dine in. I’d love to see them work out the kinks because I feel like they have potential.

The food is fine… if you ever get it. Delivery takes forever — I waited 2 hours for a panini. And if you order on their website the orders don’t always go through. At least that is what the staff says when you call, but I think they just don’t check them.

It’s a little pricey… The place is very clean and you can get beers and wine with your food if you wish — I thought that was kind of cool. I got myself a greek salad to go and they were very generous with the grape leaves and olives which isn’t something you always find! However, I do wish the salad was chopped a bit more, but that’s more of a personal preference. I ordered cajun chicken on the salad, and there was just SOMUCH chicken. I realize this may seem like an odd complaint, I know, but it was just TOO much. One or two pieces of chicken, and less of a charge to add the chicken, would be an awesome adjustment! This way, a salad won’t cost me almost $ 20! Additionally, the chicken was very over-cooked so I didn’t eat most of it because it was just so dry. The dressing they served with the salad was pretty good. Service was friendly.

Awful. How long does it take to get an egg-sandwich in an empty café? When I read the special off the menu that included a coffee I ordered it. I was charged for the coffee, and told after 11 it did not include coffee. My receipt said 10:59. Ok no complaint. I have a train to catch so after a minute I ask for the coffee from the texting cashier. 10 mins into the transaction, in an empty café, I say again, I have to catch a train, is it going to be a while? The cashier replies«probably». I run for my train throwing the sub-par coffee in order to make it. I’m sure it will stay an empty café and not last the cold winter in LB. I paid my $ 8 tuition for all of us.

After enjoying Pita Grill on several occasions at their 7th Avenue Manhattan location, I decided to give the Long Beach one a shot. Although the food(I ordered Original Hummus) met my expectations, I have never experienced such awful customer service before. The cashier who took my order was rather unfriendly, failed to give me a copy of my receipt, and then disappeared to take care of other business while there was still a line of people waiting to order.

Pita Grill is now offering breakfast. Give the restaurant a try. It has the best breakfast potatoes in Long Beach. Unless breakfast business builds, this little gem may not be able to open so early in the future.

Foreword: I never write reviews on Unilocal.I think I’ve written a review here once. The fact that I had to review this place should speak volumes — I left there with, for the first time in my life, a sense of true civic duty that could only be satisfied by alerting the masses on Unilocal as to what a god awful hole this place is. I came here in the afternoon starving and in a hurry and just wanted a burger or something to put in my mouth so I could continue my day and not have to deal with my screaming stomach. I ordered an $ 8.75 burger(not including fries). It came about 30 minutes later — and the place was so dead I could hear them microwaving it, not once, but TWICE. Nothing like a twice-microwaved $ 9 burger. They forgot about me several times, served a person who got there 10 minutes after I did about 10 minutes before my food came and served me totally flat Diet Coke(how do you mess that up?) before my burger came. When it did finally arrive, it tasted like what I imagine hot tar on a Brooklyn street tastes mid-July. It was dry and disgusting and NINEDOLLARS. At the end of this egregious experience I couldn’t even goad the dull-witted waitress to come back and take my money so I could leave. I’m giving it one star(in my all-mighty rating power) because the sweet potato fries, while completely overpriced, were actually decent.

Positively healthy as they say, and absolutely delicious. Cool little spot on park ave next to Cha Ba Thai. Jena and I ordered the California hummus which has jalapenos and lime juice, served w grill pita points. So good. Get it. I went w the Hawaiian grilled chicken over basamati rice and steamed vegetables. She order goat cheese salad served w toasted pita points. The points were served w melted goat cheese on top filled by carmelized onions. Amazing and filling for a salad. French fries were lightly fried but thick steak cuts. Went well dipped in hummus. Cool paintings and pictures complimented this beach favorite.

The annoying thing about Long Beach is that it’s quite bit of a walk from the beach to the main street where all the deli and restaurants are located. Often times, I bring my own food but today, I just felt lazy. As I got off the LIRR, a lady was passing out flyers for Pita Grill and apparently they do delivery to the Boardwalk. What an awesome idea! By around noon, my friends and I decided to give this place a try. I went for something simple like the Grilled Caesar Chicken pita for $ 9…a bit pricey for a pita i guess. The fact that they were willing to deliver to the Boardwalk really excited me. They arrived in less than 45 mins. But when I took a bite in to my Pita, I was disappointed that the chicken was a bit overcooked and it just didn’t have any flavor to it. Nonetheless, it’s much healthier than eating a greasy burger with fries.

I would give it zero stars if I could. Stay away from the bad attitude from the servers and more importantly the bad food. I ordered a falafel pita that contained 3 falafels and and a bunch of lettuce. No other veggies or condiments. A strange orange sauce accompanied the food. My dinner was served on plastic plates. I think that they are confused as to what kind if restaurant they want to be. Overall, it was a poor way to end a lovely day at the beach. I will not be rearming and I would advise against getting food from this place.

I have been going to the pita grill in long beach for several years now and have always loved it until the past 2 times we ordered. The California hummus is amazing but you can’t eat most of it because they only give you 1 pita. It’s expensive to only get 1 pita. The fish tacos had no sauce or sour cream and was dry. The 2 chicken pitas that we ordered(Thai and tandoori) were dry and had no sauce on them. You couldn’t even tell the difference between them. They are always out of something when we order. We’re not going to order from there again.

The food here isn’t good. It’s not bad. But it’s really not good. It’s neutral– like Switzerland. Pita Grill is the Switzerland of restaurants. It’s also kind of expensive for food that isn’t that good. I can’t think of a reason to go here.

The food is not bad, but nothing special. Did not have any issues with service. Prices are on the higher end.

Insane prices for mediocre quality food. You could get a tuna salad pita anywhere else for 5.95. Their’s is over $ 9. Service is mediocre, especially when you’re standing at the counter, with no one in the store, and the cashier is talking to someone on her cellphone a few feet away.

Funny. There was a place a few buildings down that my friend Emilie and I almost went to, but we decided to go with Pita Grill instead. We sited that we should support the local place, since Pita Grill is a chain, but we figured the quality of food would be much better here. Should have gone with our guts on this one. We walked into a nice little place with tables, and walked up to the counter to check out their menu. The girl behind the counter, in a very snide Valley Girl way, looked us up and down and informed us that there was table service and that we could sit down. We told her we were going to do take out, and we ordered. We sat and waited for 15 minutes. Tra la la. We saw one of the girls behind the counter yell at a group of customers. Why? The customers were almost late for their train and asked, a bit rushed but quite genial, how much longer their food would be. The response from the staff? «We SAID this wasn’t fast food!» in that same snide Valley Girl way. OUCH. So much for a genial question being answered. Em got a basil and mozzarella panini. She asked to be mentioned in this review, so I paraphrase: she liked the bread the panini was served on and the abundance of tomatoes. However, the sandwich needed more pesto and was quite dry. (There. She will be pleased. Ha!) As for me? I got the falafel. Extremely mediocre but it stopped my hunger. The basmati rice was the best part of my meal. Not sure if that’s a compliment or not… And for the record, the girl behind the counter that rang up my bill, Hannah, was quite nice. Kudos to you, dear. I hope some of your co-workers can follow your good example.
