V Room

I was in the V room last night on 5÷11÷16. My bartender was a tall white guy with lots of tats.
This is probably the 3^rd or 4^th time I have gone in for a drink and to play pool and the bartender was giving lousy service because he was AGAIN playing pool with his friend instead of doing his job. DUDE there are TWO pool tables there! and you are taking up one of them because you want to play pool instead of work!!! come on man! hopefully this gets back to Candice (the owner) so she can address the issue. Do your job man!

Locals hang out here. mixed crowd, various ages. VERY FRIENDLY. LOW prices dive bar on steroids. I will come back again. Tons of beer from pabst to Guiness and Craft beers. I liked the vibe here… Some shady characters out in the back parking lot, beware.

My favorite dive bar in Long Beach. Recently revamped, but full of character. Get the Breakfast Shot and a Jalapeño Margarita. They have a well rounded selection of beer in bottles and cans that will please a crafty cat or a dude wanting some PBR. I moved back to Long Beach so I could walk to V Room. Okay that’s a exaggeration but damn this is the bar everyone needs in their life. I’ve brought all my roommates here, have had several birthdays and even invited Candace to my wedding.

Oh, how I luv my bar keeps over at Cock N’ Bull, but Miss Mel is MOST DEF in the running for bestest bartender in the world.
Adorbs, sexy, funny, smart… she offered me a bottled water for my long drive home. Geezus. It’s, like, the darkest dive bar in town with Nordstrom customer service!
Now let’s talk about the bar. Delish. First, nacho/​hot dog table on NFL Sundays! Then there’s the pool tables, full bar, tons of TVs, EXCELLENT bottles of beer (Stone, Lagunitas, some French shit my mate was drinking that (I had to look up) gets 96% on
, and nice, clean bathrooms that are well lit so you can do quick touch-​ups when needed.

Always looking for the ultimate Bloody Mary finally found it at The V Room. Usually a Christmas Eve stop now it may be more regular. Using a spicy vodka it was perfect with a garden of pickles, olives, celery & a Slim Jim.

I have to say as a native to Lbc this a handful of local small businesses has endure the hands of time. It remains true to it reputation as a DIVE BAR. Don’t be intimidated by is outer décor or lack of, it’s about the people of all type that congregation inside. PLEASE, check your attitude at the door and come have a stiffy inside!!! Ask for any of the hot bartenders to pour you an elixir that’s guarantee to make you walk sideways out the door at closing time!

Hands down, this is the best bar in LBC. Unlike Fern’s, you will get great service and the place is clean and doesn’t smell like perma-​vomit and mildew. Unlike the now shitty Red Room, there is a great old school jukebox, not one of those digital pieces of crap with Top 40 BS. In the day time it’s patronized by old timers, who are extremely welcoming to the tattooed freaks, punks, etc. who go there. At night, there’s a good mix of various types. V Room is for everyone, no matter your sexual orientation, race etc. The owners work there and are the absolute best, all the bartenders are cool, friendly and attentive. V Room is great for a quick happy hour drink or to hang out all night.

Best BAR in Long Beach you just gotta go there people here are the best drinks are cheap and good!

Beat dive in Long Beach!!! Great people, great staff, delicious chili, and the drinks are always proper.

Overall, this was a great bar! Friendly bartenders. Good beers and selection of drinks, for reasonable prices. A decent amount of seating, for such a small space. A classic boombox with some classic music. A calm, mellow crowd (visited on a Saturday night and it was not too packed). And the place also had a couple pool tables (: Let’s just say I plan to come back here again!

This place is a great mellow dive-​bar. The drinks are super cheap (mine were $ 4.50 per drink) and really stiff. I asked the bartender for something fruity and he made me a drink with Malibu, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and some frothy thing that made it almost like a piña colada, which was exactly what I wanted. It was very laid back. We’ll definitely be back.

Six people in the bar. Waited patiently at bar, but would not get served. I was quietly waiting, not looking impatiently at my watch, nor staring her down, not looking at my watch, or waving money. I did not pretend to be extremely thirsty, nor did i drag myself across the floor only to reveal a canteen full of sand. I did not use silly string to produce cartoon-​like cobwebs that stuck me to the bar, nor did i replace myself with a skeleton when she wasn’t looking. I did nothing yet no «i’ll be right with you», no eye contact, i doubt I’d even get a fart my direction even with the biggest Fart Target shirt available at Spencer’s. She just would not serve me, much less acknowledge my existence, and it may have been because my brother looks like a 49 ½ yr old dorky tourist (he is) who asked aloud «what does the V stand for?», or because the place has the only «locals only» vibe I’ve ever gotten in my 22 years in long beach, but it stinks either way. What does the V stand for? I say Vertebrae because all i saw was the bartender’s back.

My in laws decided to take our kids to the beach so the Husband and I decided to do a bar crawl on 4^th street! We walked past a few that seemed kinda sketchy and uninviting. My Husband was feeling discouraged that our bar crawl was gonna suck. Then we came across the V Room. We said if this place seemed weird, we’d give up and go eat instead. As soon as we opened the door a man said «Hey youngins! Come in!», and so we did… And we stayed for 4 hours. And our bar crawl turned into a one bar thing. Melanie the bartender was very friendly and super chill. Seriously the nicest bartender ever. Drinks were cheap and STRONG. The jukebox was awesome. It was a Saturday at 2 pm so it wasn’t super packed. But everyone there was awesome. People were buying us drinks, we were buying people drinks. I seriously had the best time. We will definitely be back again!

Rad place. We were killing time between a wedding ceremony and the reception and found this little gem on the way! The bartender was nice, knowledgeable and cute to boot! Great drinks at a fair price, nice folks, and cool paintings up on the walls. Only draw back, cash only.

Our Second stop on a early Friday evening dive bar tour of Long Beach. This place is pretty good for a dive bar it has two pool tables and it only cost $.50 to play pool. They have craft brews in the can, which I don’t mind at all it’s better than be drinking Bud Light like my buddy Eric.

This Bloody Mary was made to perfection!!! 1 shot effin cucumber vodka, 1 shot kettle 1, and a healthy splash of UV sirracha vodka, a few dashes of worcestershire, heaps of fresh squeezed lime juice real tomato juice, a healthy douse of Tabasco, a proprietary blend of herbs and spices all topped with a kosher dill pickle wedge, a pickled asparagus. A cucumber wheel, bacon, a pretzel, and rimmed with a Tajin and Lucas… Melanie killed it!

Vagina? Vagabond? Vanilla? Virgin mary? Vicente Fernandez?
Was always trying to fig out what the V stood for the first few times.
One of my fave divey bars in LB. Two nice pool tables (which is what I really go for), albeit with limited space for some shots. The place had a chill and hip vibe to it. Chiquito pero picoso.

Strong drinks at ridiculously low prices. My Absolute and 7 was $ 4… amazing and GOOD.
Cute patrons, plenty of seating, pool tables and a hopping Jukebox.
There is a small parking lot to the right and the bar is CASH only.

Definitely a bar that should be on any pub crawl.
Just another night in my love affair with Long Beach.
