Wetzel’s Pretzels

Today ¹²⁄₁₈ 2pm. Walked up to get a pretzel and a drink. An middle aged older Asian lady walks or behind the counter on her iPhone. Keeps talking, no acknowledgment, continues her conversation and wake back behind the door. Well, I am not worthy of a hello and off I go to Panda Express. The two shops next to you pretzel place have gone under. Guess this place doesn’t care.

I should have read reviews first. I had the same horrible experience with Mariana. She was beyond rude and attitudinal. Made me want to reach across the counter and slap the living daylights out of her!
I stopped by to get an almond crunch pretzel a little after 8pm. There was no one in line and only plain pretzels in the warmer. I asked Mariana if the plain pretzels was all that was available. In return, she rolled her eyes as if she didn’t understand MY question. In the most incomprehensible English ever, she asked me, «What kind you want?» Really? After I responded, she pointed and told me in her poor English that the pretzels in the warmer were plain. Duh! Ya think??? When I snapped back at her, she mumbled something incoherent about having to make the batter. In other words, it was too much work. She didn’t want to do it and wasn’t going to honor my request. I was irritated with trying to comprehend, told Mariana to forget I asked, and walked away.
Mariana needs to be FIRED, given the repeated complaints. Having a nasty attitude with every customer isn’t going to cut that check! When English is as poor as hers and the attitude is beyond nasty, she has NO business dealing with customers anyway.
I will NEVER support a business like. It is evident that management/​owners don’t take pride in who they hire. Management AND consumer affairs will be notified! Wetzels Pretzels is in a prime location, offering low-​budget products for top-​dollar prices, and being served by unprofessional, entitled employees who lack effective communication skills is utterly ridiculous!

The employee hooked me up with a cheese cup and the food was ok but the employee didn’t seem like she was in a good mood it was kinda obvious.

I unfortunately agree with the other reviews. I wish I could give no stars. The cashier, Mariana has to be the rudest employee I’ve ever encountered. My son and I were splitting pretzel bites and I asked for more than the 2 napkins she gave with the order. So she gave me one more. I let her know that we are splitting the order and would like to put some down on the table, and she told me «no, that I had enough». This was when I had 3 napkins for 2 people. I again asked her for a few more and she refused and snatched up the napkin dispenser and walked to the back. I can promise you, they will never receive another penny from me.

I have been craving a Wetzel pretzel for over a week. Yesterday I stopped by before going to see a movie and they were closed. So today I made a special trip and they couldn’t give me anything but sweet or regular pretzels cuz they ran out of some kinda cheese?

I wish I can give this place a negative ZERO! I called to find out exactly where they were located in the Long Beach Towne Center. The lady on the phone for one was rude and secondly didn’t seem to understand English. After I asked where they were located she says at the LB center then I asked what stores were near them. She kept saying huh, then for the 3^rd time asking what was near them she says ok and hung up! I was SO furious I called back but no one answered! Just like the other fellow Unilocalers I’m so not going to this location. Bad attitude on the phone will equal bad attitude in person! And I SO wanted a pretzel dammit! By way this location needs to hire someone that understands better English so they won’t hanging up on people. Grrrrrrrrrr

I asked for wetzel bitz with both cinnamon and almond crunch mixed (I get this on a regular) and they tell me rudely that they cant do that, even after I offered to pay extra and they still said no ! Plus they had no forks and bad customer service ! I’ll just go to the lakewood mall for my pretzel from now on

Our first experience at this Wetzels Pretzels was a negative one, employee/​owner had a negative attitude, unresponsive/​rude to her customers. We decided to try a second time and unfortunaltely encountered the same sour attitude. Will not be coming back.
A message from my daughter:
The two old ladies that work there along with giving out cold pretzels they also enjoy giving out death stares. My mom politely asked for two cups of water and the lady gave an annoyed look and ignored her request. I am very scared of them. Moms, do not bring your children as I have been very dissapointed.

Damn it! Should have checked Unilocal before I came here. The old ladies who work here were so freaking rude and unfriendly. They were eating their lunch when I got here and gave me the meanest look for interrupting their lunch. They didn’t wash their hands when they got my pretzels. The lemonade was extremely bitter, so I came back and asked for water to be added. I swear I thought she was going to kill me with her death stare for asking for water. She then scolded me for getting an extra napkin WTF! So freaking rude.

Not a big fan of writing bad Unilocal reviews, especially for fast food type places, but I felt like I had to echo other comments on this Wetzel’s location. I work at Towne Center, so for a quick snack on my break, I usually look for the shortest line so that I can have some time to sit and eat. This location always has no line and now I know why.
Today, I waited about ten minutes for an employee to make an appearance. When no one arrived, I looked up and called the store phone number in hopes that that would alert someone to my presence. After listening to the phone in front ring eight times with no answer, I finally decided to sit at a nearby table, having used up over a third of my break just waiting.
After about another five minutes, the lone employee finally appeared and I ordered (probably shouldn’t have.). As I paid, I let the employee know in a calm way that I had been waiting for fifteen minutes. She seemed surprised but gave no apology. I let her know that I worked nearby and came by a lot, but that I wouldn’t be able to come to her business any more if it took fifteen minutes to get helped since my breaks are typically short. Still no reaction, though I did get a halfhearted «sorry» as I left.
As I said, i usually overlook minor service issues, but it blows my mind how a location can stay in business of they are not even aware of a customer until after fifteen minutes.

I have been in this location a couple times and most of the times there are no workers present around noon. The times I have been served here, the workers were very rude. I was asking about some of their menus and the lady just gave me the nastiest look and just shrugged. The last time (will be the last) I came here, I asked for a fork the lady gave me an annoyed look and did not say no. She just shooed me off. Please stay away from this wetzel pretzel. Worst customer service ever.

Cashier was extremely rude. I asked for a regular pretzel and the cashier was complaining that I wanted to changed my order. She even shook her head of disapproval and made the situation hard to deal with. After that I lost my craving for pretzels. Never going back here again.

NEVER AGAIN… AVOID… RUDE…
I came here last night with my family and of course my daughter wanted her most favorite place, she ordered the pretzels dog and when she went to eat it it was hard as a rock. To make this story short n sweet, I asked for a fresh one the cashier who I think is the owner said they are closing. It was only 8pm I than asked for a refund she said NO! She said her cash drawer was closed for the night. She even refused service to a different family out of spite to not open her drawer… I couldn’t believe it my husband tried cuz I was about to lose it, he had no luck. I went back and refused to leave without my $$$… She finally gave me $ 4 dollars from her own wallet while scolding me that I was a mean lady… The nerve of her! I finally got my $$$ and bought a kids meal from Panda Express…

Well I was coming here (to Unilocal) to tear this place a new one but just reading the other 2 reviews I don’t have to say anything more except that I can’t wait to go back just to get in their faces and talk as much sh*t as I can before they call security. Lets just say they were SO RUDE to my wife (I was off getting a COKE at another eatery cause this dump serves Pepsi) and I didn’t find out until we met up at the seat –that I snagged for us– that she was treated so BADLY by the third-​world piece-of-sh*t that took her order. that she grabbed her money back from her and walked.

Stay away. The owner is rude. I would not go back if the pretzels were free. Do yourself a favor and bypass this dump

Do not buy pretzels at this location! The owner is rude, the pretzels are cold, and when you ask for salt they only gave me about 10 grains. When I asked for more again I got attitude, and when I asked for bag she shoved my pretzels in there.
If I could give them no stars I would!
