I’m sorry but this was very bad Chinese food. Worst I ever had and way too expensive for what Chinese take out is supposed to be. Even for this neighborhood. Ordered take out last night and everything tasted bad. The dumplings were too doughy with no flavor at all. Fried rice didn’t even taste like a fried rice. Chicken and broccoli was below average and the chicken tasted odd. Maybe it’s one of these hit and miss places or we ordered on a bad night (which isn’t excusable), but we threw half of our food away and I was sick most of the night. Extremely disappointing.
For 1 chicken fried rice, chicken and broccoli, 1 order of dumplings and a side order of rice with a ginger ale it was $ 35. Like what? Outrageous! And the quality of food is below poor. Infuriating. The one star is for pretty quick delivery and I think I’m being rather generous given the overall experience.

Food is your typical Chinese food. I’ve never had a problem with the food or delivery service. This place is right by my office so if you’re craving Chinese, this is a good place to order from. Great lunch prices and decent delivery time.

The food is really good. I had the house fried rice, pot stickers, and chicken wings. All very good. The price was avg. delivering was in good timing as well. Deff will order here again.

This is our go to takeout Chinese resturant in Long Island City. From the outside it looks like a hole in the wall, but if you can gather up the nerve to look past it’s sketchy façade you will be pleasantly surprised. Many people pass it daily and don’t even realize it’s there. Delivery is fast and the food is fresh and delicious. The price is great as well. We usually can feed a family of 4 for under $ 25 and have leftovers for lunch. I gave it four stars because ordering over the phone can be a challenge. You can now order online making it a breeze and ensure what you want is what you get. The General Tso’s chicken is our favorite with an upgrade to fried rice dinner combination. If you are looking for inexpensive, quick and delicious Chinese food in Long Island City this is your place for takeout.

The owner basically does everything and is really quite nice. This place does the trick for your typical chinese fix… or in my case, the ‘mitzvah’ of eating chinese food on Christmas. I ordered the shrimp and chicken hunan style, asking if I add beef in as well — which he did for a $ 1 extra. It’s supposed to be spicy, but seemed like more of the typical ‘brown sauce’…but I had some hot sauce, so I made do. They have brown rice too, which was nice ($ 1 extra to swap). All in all, not Michelin worthy, but with a name like «i-​Fortune Cookie»…it serves it’s intended purpose.

I missed them being in the old location. I find that their prices changed a lot. Seriously try their lunch specials they are so worth it. Sweet and Sour Pork is $ 11 on the regular menu but during lunch is $ 6.50 well worth it. They have always done good egg rolls. If your going to do a pickup between noon and 2pm be prepared people are waiting out the door.

From the wonton soup, to the happy family, to the fried rice, to the eggplant and broccoli with garlic sauce. Everything was bland and no flavor. Ordered delivery through eat24 on a rainy day. Delivery took a little over an hour to receive. I gave them a second star only because the Food was still hot upon delivery. Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes?

Exactly what you want when you decide you’re craving cheap Chinese takeout for lunch. The storefront is tiny — definitely a take-​out place, not even a single chair to wait on. But $ 6 for a lunch special can’t be beat. I’m a sucker for orange chicken, and it was perfect — crispy and sweet, with enough white rice to soak up all the sauce. It’s nothing fancy and definitely not gourmet, but it’s exactly what I wanted. They’re quick and friendly and cheap, and if you were really looking for a place to sit down, there’s a park across the street. For a neighborhood as devoid of good Chinese places as this one, I’ll definitely be coming back here plenty.

I ordered chicken w/​garlic sauce and eggplant. I was disappointed because it missed that key ingredient of «garlic». Not very flavorful. My friend ordered the shrimp w/​garlic sauce and it was the same as my order. Long Spring in Woodside is hands down better if you’re looking for NYC Chinese food.

Dont buy from here, who the hell ever heard of $ 5.00 for 4 piece chicken wings?! The lunch special was $ 8.50 are you kidding me. I tried to cancel the chicken wing order and he hung up on me. Dont bother ordering from here waste of time and even worst service. Like worst than the norm. STAY AWAY

Best Chinese take out in LIC, hands down.
First of all, the owner guy is SUPER friendly! Always get a big greeting when I walk in here.
The prices are very reasonable. The best is the lunch special for about $ 6.50 which comes with meal/​rice, and a soup or drink. A huge bonus is you can also get this deal for dinner.
The chicken is always soft, tender, and real, unlike say Mr. Wonton and some of the other Chinese joints in this hood.
Some of my favorite meals:
General Tso Chicken — yummy sweet sauce, nice big chicken chunks
Orange chicken — sweet orange sauce
Sweet & sour chicken
Chicken with broccoli — wow very surprised both the chicken and broccoli were super soft and tender. the light sauce was also tasty.
Great egg drop soup too, salty and eggy like I like it. Comes with the combo.

Nope. Nope. Nope. That was nasty. We live in Long Island City and crave good Chinese food. This wasn’t it. The crab rangoon was dry and tasteless. The chicken with garlic sauce was salty and oily. The sesame chicken had a good taste but you could just tell it wasn’t fresh. I wish this place was better. Please try harder next time!

I was so happy when Henry set up shop again after closing down last year. He’s always been such a nice, attentive, hard-​working guy – and he whips up some good food. I’m vegan, so he always cooks me something tasty and plant-​based, even if it’s not on the menu (ask him about General Tso’s tofu!), and I have always enjoyed the quality and portion size.
I can’t speak for the meat dishes, but I definitely give him a 5-​stars relative to other Chinese takeout joints in NYC based on taste and service.

This place is really good. I specially love sesame chicken! And their fortune cookies are tricolor, which is different! Will definitely be ordering more

Delivered on time, delivery person was very friendly and appreciative. Food was definitely a letdown, bland, a bit cold (despite delivery not taking very long), but really it just didn’t taste very good. My first time ordering Chinese since I moved to LIC in late 2014. I’ll hunt for other places.
FTR I had Hunan Chicken (it was not spicy at all, sad to say), and chicken fried rice.

I was so excited when this place opened — LIC simply doesn’t have a good Chinese takeout. Boy, was this a disappointment!
The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is the shrimp seemed fresh and the cold noodles were edible. The rest of the food was borderline inedible. I don’t even know how to describe it — watery tasteless food with old pieces of meat is the best I can I do.
I really hope I caught them on an off night but I won’t be giving them another chance. Honestly some of the worse Chinese food I’ve ever had.

I can’t really recommend this restaurant. My husband and I’ve ordered delivery twice and the food simply was not good.
Chicken and broccoli– very mediocre with watery chicken
General Tso chicken– mushy chicken that I could not get myself to eat. I have never tasted chicken with such an unappetizing texture.
Fried wontons with sesame dressing– wontons were not fried and dressing was gloopy.
The brown sauce is gross.
The fried rice is just okay, and delivery was pretty quick (20−30minutes). I also did not feel the MSG/​sodium bloat the next day like I experience with other take out places.
Sometimes you get a hankering for Chinese take out, and even though it’s junk food there should be a certain minimum level in quality of ingredients used. Our search for Chinese food delivery in LIC continues.

Service was fast and the owner was very friendly. The place is small and lacks space if you want to eat there.
I ordered the beef w. Broccoli. The meal wasn’t covered with sauce which is nice. The beef and fried rice was so so. The broccoli wasnt overcooked which I l liked. Previously, I tried the general tso chicken which i thought was better. I would rate the food at 3.5 but the speed of service bumps it up to a 4. Overall, good place for take out.

i-​Fortune Cookie is a new Chinese takeout place in a swath of LIC that is up and coming. I spoke with the owner, and this is in fact a replacement of his original location that used to be next to Court Square Diner. I’ve ordered takeout from here twice now, and while I can’t speak for delivery as both times I’ve picked up — they are super fast, and super friendly at the counter. It’s a small space, and when you enter you are basically coming right into their kitchen. The space appears very clean and you can technically watch them cook your food if you’d like.
It is basic Chinese takeout, and as long as your stomach can handle it, it’s great. I definitely recommend the
— Orange Chicken,
— General Tso’s Chicken,
— Beef Fried Rice,
— Hot and Sour Soup,
— Cold Sesame Noodles, and the
— Ribs appetizer.
However, I’m not a huge fan of
— the «brown sauce» nor the
— Chicken Fried Rice or the
— Chicken with Chinese Vegetables.
They always include the usual and typical fortune cookies, and many packets of soy sauce, duck sauce, and mustard. I don’t really understand the mustard…
Overall, I’ve heard good things about the original location, and look forward to trying many more entrees down the road.

Fortune Cookie was my favorite Chinese restaurant in LIC, and used to be located on 23^rd Street across from the Court Square Diner. One day they didn’t answer their phone, and just like that, they had vanished. Stupid LIC leases.
But alas, they are back! Located in the old local pharmacy near Key Food, they are open for business again. I was so excited to see this today that I stopped in for lunch.
The owner remembered me and was super friendly. I got a few different dishes (the basic standards) and I am writing this quite full, as happy as ever.
While I can’t speak to their delivery yet, at the old place it was one of the fastest to arrive in all of LIC. The food isn’t super fancy but it’s by far the best Chinese takeout in the neighborhood.
