NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission

Riders beware. Used them yesterday and te stupid driver was insisting we pay in cash and give a compulsory 20% tip. what a loser. now I have a really bad impression on new york cabs just use über.

What a freaking joke! I understand why Über does so well in NYC.
Watching football with the bf in Hoboken and we decide to head to NYC to watch the Packers game. Hopped off the PATH and needed to catch a cab crosstown. This cab (Taxi 5F48) has his available light on so me and my friend walk up to this cab. The guy has his doors locked & rolls down his window to ask where we were going. Correct me if I’m wrong but a cabby isn’t suppose to have his doors locked while available and shouldn’t be asking where we’re going until we are in the cab. I’m sure he thought we were going to ask him to take us to the Bronx or Brooklyn or Queens. Anyway he finds it in his oh so kind heart to unlock the door and take us to the bar. Needless to say I didn’t tip him a brown penny and I takes crap to him he entire time on how that was against the law & he is the reason why Über does so well in NYC. Cabby 5F48, you should be a shame dude.

My credit card was stolen and I got an $ 89 charge from these guys. Who takes the credit card information without the card?

Who the hell are all these cab drivers talking to…

I have both good and bad experiences here. Over the years, I’ve seen it getting better from terrible customer service to average, though I still find the security guards to seem aggravated and impolite. Id say it’s slightly better than the dmv.

With this place having incompetent employee along with disrespecting attitudes, made me realized that the government only hire IDIOTS with my tax money. People who work here is a disgrace to this society.
To that asian pregnant lady who thinks she owns this building: I hope you don’t treat your child like how you treated us. Pathetic.

At 6:18pm on June 22, the taxi bearing plate 9A77 had its light on at 43^rd St and 3^rd Ave. however, once he heard where in the city we were going, he refused to take us. Über, a better product than NYC taxis, would not do such a thing.

Good luck trying to file a complaint with this group. Almost impossible.

The TLC is used mostly by taxi drivers and business owners and as a business owner this place is just bad. Their customer service sucks! The wait times are ridiculous and they aren’t even helpful in explaining things. Could be run much better if some new management techniques were used.

The way to go if you’re flying into NYC via JFK is to grab a taxi to get you into Manhattan. To locals it’s old news but for out-​of-​towners like me, it’s a little known fact that taxis from JFK to Manhattan are mandated to charge you a flat rate of $ 45 plus a .50 cent tax and any bridge tolls.
To me this was a good deal but it doesn’t apply from Manhattan to JFK, you’re on the meter on that trip.

A wretched Hive of Scum and Bureaucracy. The people here don’t care about anyone. Not the rank and file employees or the TLC Administrators and Judges. Every last person here is a pencil pushing soul draining drone.
