DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYONTHIS«BUSLINE.» We booked tickets TWO months ago to take this bus from New York to Pennsylvania. We even paid extra for this scam of a company to «guarantee» we would have seats on the day of the trip. What kind of company does that? Anyway, this horrible company provides NO disclaimer that they could potentially CANCELTHETRIPTHEDAYBEFOREHANDEVENIFYOUWERESUCKEREDINTOPAYINGEXTRATO **GUARANTEE** YOURSPOTONTHEBUS. Oh, did I mention that they have NO other bus lines leaving that day? We are now left without transportation 24 hours before our scheduled trip. I have NEVER been so disappointed with a company in my life. Everything about this company is horrible. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau immediately to file a complaint.

One of the greatest things about living in New York is not needing to own a car. It’s usually pretty convenient, but sometimes presents challenges. Unfortunately, as a huge amusement park fanatic, one of them is the fact that most amusement parks are located in the middle of nowhere without good public transit access. To that end, the Coaster Bus is awesome. On June 13, I took the Coaster Bus to Lake Compounce in Connecticut. It was a fantastic trip. I boarded the bus at the first stop near Court Square in Long Island City. There were snacks on the bus and I got a good nap in, waking up just before we got to the park where it was an awesome day of rides and water slides, including Boulder Dash, which is one of the best roller coasters I have ever been on. Everything was easy and stress free, which was a great contrast to times in the past when I’ve had to go out to one of the airports to rent a car then navigate horribly stressful New York traffic. I will be joining in for more trips for sure.

I hadn’t gone to an amusement park in ~10 years and probably wouldn’t have gone for another 10 if I didn’t find the Coaster Bus. Took the Coaster Bus from NYC to Six Flags in NJ. Everything went smoothly – bus was on time at one of the stops in Manhattan. Had snacks provided on board and enjoyed a relaxing ride to the park. Arrived at a good time – there were people there but it wasn’t too crowded yet and I rode several of the larger coasters right away without much of a wait. Hung out with the Coaster Bus guide in line at one of the coasters and he provided a wealth of information about coasters and various parks around the country. It is always nice to find a business run by someone who is really passionate about the subject area. I got one of the packages that included lunch. I wasn’t expecting much from the lunch but figured I’d eat in the park anyway so why not just get the package that included it. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the food at the park. With the lunch package, there are several venues you can eat at(at Six Flags, anyway). I ate at some lodge-looking place near the water log ride. The burger and fries were actually pretty good – I guess amusement park food has gotten better than what I remember growing up! Best coaster was Nitro – definitely check it out of you go to Six Flags NJ. And don’t miss the Safari which is great too and nice way to break up the day if you want a bit of a rest from the wild rides. The bus leaves before the park closes, but I found the time in the park to be enough to go on all of the rides I wanted to without rushing around. Ride back was also smooth… was pretty tired so I dozed off for a bit before getting back to the city. Overall, a fun, unique, and convenient experience. Will likely check out at least one of the other parks on the Coaster Bus schedule before the end of the summer – perhaps I’ll see you there!

I used The Coaster Bus’ service for a trip to Lake Compounce on May 31st, 2015. The service was exactly as said as on the website: full coach round-trip service, refreshments for both outbound and inbound trips, as well as free meals. One thing that I found impressive was how The Coaster Bus handled unexpected situation. When the bus arrived at Lake Compounce, I was stunned to find that Lake Compounce was closed without advance notice. The whole group was turned away, which was clearly a disappointment because I had been expecting so much of this park(especially Boulder Dash, obviously). The trip leader then gave us recommendation that we went to Quassy Amusement Park instead, since it is nearby. While of course it is not Lake Compounce, I think it was very nice of him to offer alternatives. Indeed, it was not Lake Compounce, but I had a great time hanging with The Coaster Bus roster. Due to the change, The Coaster Bus offered me partial refund at the end of the trip, which I found was unnecessary, but I found very generous and kind of the company. In general, I had a fantastic time going out with The Coaster Bus, and the service was just simply impeccable. The next time you go to theme parks from NYC area, make sure you use this service :-)
