It’s shocking that a small business grocery store is still around. This place is small and the selection is obviously not as large as big chain places, but it’ll do for a neighborhood shop. The prices aren’t awful and the people are friendly. I don’t typically do my big shopping here but if I need a quick item on the way home, this is an easy place to go visit.

Solid family grocery. Great for picking up odds and ends. Limited produce, buy looked fresh. Above average meat department. You can request certain cuts of meat. I enjoy the deli and always plenty of interesting grab and go lunch items to hear up at home. Usually very well priced. Smaller grocery, but friendly and helpful staff.

Armata’s has been making a big effort to improve lately, and it shows. They did a renovation a few months ago and the inside looks new and fresh. Bad old smell is gone. The selection has also improved, I can get almost everything I need here without going to the Big Y. The meats are good and they are willing to custom cut large pieces for free. Prices are great. They get local produce in the summer. If you haven’t been here in a while, give it another chance. Super convenient, and the people who run it are local.

The store smells so weird, like my grandparent’s house. I wanted to support the small business, but it smelled so bad I left.

3.5 stars from me. I love supporting a local market, the staff is nice and you can find some special items(although they stopped carrying my favorite Gold Medal english muffins). It’s small, so you obviously don’t have as much variety as a large market, but I do most of my day to day shopping here and stock up periodically at a big store. They have a selection of pre-made items(the chicken and broccoli pasta is pretty good!), a keg of olive oil where you can refill your bottle, and they have some good desserts(hello Milky Way cake — amazing). Since it’s small and doesn’t have the turnover, you can find pretty much daily deals on items that are close to the«best by» date. One note though — I tend to avoid the fish due to a couple of experiences of not-so-freshness(no sickness though).

Armata’s is not closed. In a town with a large Big Y, Armata’s has been able to stick around when other local markets(Community Market) have collapsed, and other businesses in the Shaker Plaza(Movie Shop) have closed. How does it do it? Holiday-wise, the parking isn’t nearly as bad as it is at Big Y, where crazy people cross the street aimlessly to get to their cars parked at either the Bliss or Williams business parking lots. Furthermore, the deals are still decent, despite being a more local supermarket. It’s a standard supermarket: it’s not a Whole Foods or whatnot by any means. Beyond that, the deli’s nice, and it’s smaller than Big Y, so you’ll probably get more personalized service. So woo woo!
