This restaurant is delicious and the owners are great. The food is always fresh and the menu changes often. It’s a nice place to go for a special night out. I want to also give a «nod» to the owners. On a recent visit, my boyfriend actually saved another patron’s life by giving him the Heimlich. The patrons paid for our meal(which was more than enough /not necessary), and the owners also gave us a gift card for their gratitude. I like businesses who care about their customers and seem to have good core values — that seems to be Sugarbeet.

We had a very nice dinner yesterday at Sugarbeet with my husband. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and romantic, perfect for a date. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, the food excellent. Portions are very generous so next time I’ll know that the appetizers are big enough to share. They also have a nice selection of beers, cocktails and wine. I wish they’d print the dessert menu. With so many tempting offerings, it’s hard to memorize all of it. Fortunately, our waiter was patient enough to repeat a couple of them so that we could decide. So glad we had dinner at Sugarbeet, can’t wait to go back!

If you haven’t been to Sugar Beet and live within 30 miles of Longmont, go here. Best foodie and artful cuisine between here and Boulder. If you’re just checking out the town from afar, it’s well worth your dining choice to stop in and be dazzled. Go a second time, and keep expecting to be astounded. Classy yet comforting inside, we were promptly seated upon arrival. Our server was super friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. He thoroughly described the specials, even though they were posted on a chalkboard within our site. He was eager to make recommendations as I’m very indecisive at times when trying a new and exciting place. I was thrilled with the shishito pepper dish– garnished with cashews and sheep feta. My boyfriend and I shared a beautiful watercress and shrimp salad and eggplant stack. We asked for the shrimp on the side since by bf is vegetarian, and our server double checked that there were no food allergies– bonus points. Beautiful food presentation, thoughtful cocktails(too tempting to order a second), and bold flavors. Portions aren’t huge and don’t need to be due to the apparent quality and seasonality of the ingredients. Can’t wait to check back for their next menu!

I really wanted to jump on the«it’s so great! «bandwagon, but alas I cannot. Husband and I went for a nice Friday dinner. Manager seated us quickly, but in a strange tiny table up against a post on the middle of the room. If we hadn’t had reservations maybe I could see that, but it wasn’t really a good spot. Our waiter arrived and pointed out the specials sign, then took off again. I saw other waitstaff give people the specials while there, so they must train to do it properly… which would’ve been great because we couldn’t read the sign through other diners heads. Our drinks were fine, the bruschetta was awesome, and our main courses weren’t awful. My husband had the lamb, which was somewhat good(he had to add a lot of salt and pepper, no seasoning) but terribly dry and there wasn’t even any sauce to compliment it. I had the crispy eggplant, which was very tasty but not very crispy beyond the top layer. We decided to go get dessert elsewhere, as we were no longer feeling it here. It was too loud, too bright, and our service was half assed. Kinda a bummer, as we go out to eat often and are looking for that place that makes us want to return again and again. This is just not it.

We have been here nearly 10 times. This is the best food in Longmont. The food has always been great as has the service. I enjoy the cocktails and mixological creations(is that a word?). Great place for a quiet app and drink or a dinner celebration.

When in Longmont i try And find time to go here for dinner. Food and the restaurant are eclectic and an experience. Its not hard to spend a $ 100 per person here if you truly enjoy yourself but the food is worth every cent

The Sugarbeet is the only truly good restaurant in Longmont. In fact, there is no restaurant in Longmont that comes anywhere close to being as good as this place. And it’s good every single time you come. They never mess it up.

My wife and I recently had a chance to experience Sugarbeet. Even though the location was a little off the beaten path, the experience inside the restaurant was fantastic and the service was attentive and friendly. We especially appreciated that there was a vegan option in each section of the menu. Yay vegan! The quinoa bowl was hearty and rich in flavor. It featured tofu, a variety of nuts and seeds, dates, a delicious tahini sauce. So good. More of this! The only drawback were the hours of operation. We wanted to go for lunch on another day, but found that it was closed. We will definitely be back again!

Sugar Beet is such an excellent restaurant, from the friendly and efficient servers to the amazing food. We live in Boulder, have tried oh so many«famous» Boulder restaurants-Sugarbeet beats(no pun intended) them all! We are thrilled that we found Sugar Beet-we only wish there were more vegetarian/vegan items on the menu.

I dined at Sugarbeet for the first time last week. This is an expensive place. Here is what I got for $ 27: 3 slightly undercooked scallops with an apricot ‘glaze’(too much glaze, too sweet) 4 slightly undercooked Brussels sprouts about a half cup of bland risotto sprinkled with a few small cubes of winter squash. Yep, that’s it.

Oh. My. Goodness! This place is unexpectedly warm and inviting, intimate and romantic. Our server, Tabby, was so great. She was fun, genuine, and most importantly, intuitive. We had a comical little exchange about the redness of our steak and never really gave a definitive answer. Tabby communicated with the chefs and brought us perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious steaks. And don’t get me started on the roasted beets! Overall, a wonderful dining experience — we’ll definitely be back to try some of the more exotic menu choices.

Fabulous meal! I ordered the special, a stacked eggplant dish. The tastiest eggplant I’ve ever had — And I order it every time I see it on a menu.

This is my 4th time at Sugarbeet and I don’t think I’ll be going back. I made reservations over the phone stating this was a big wedding anniversary of mine and my wife’s and nobody even acknowledged the occasion when we arrived. Most of the food was good but the ribs were way too spicy and when we told the waiter about it he barely acknowledged it. My wife and I ordered some drinks and food over the course of two hours(big bill at the end) and the waiter just seemed to lose interest over time. I would suggest that for those who might consider visiting this restaurant you save yourselves a lot of money and go to some other local restaurant that has better service and food just as good for less than half the price.

We went for a birthday dinner for myself and my husband and it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. The service was decent was just there was nothing that was outstanding about the dish nothing stood out if you’re wanting fancy and you don’t want to drive to Denver I guess this works.

We went to Sugarbeet for my birthday — we’ve had some great meals here and expected nothing less. I love that the menu is always different, specials are based on what’s in season. I’ve never had anything close to the same meal twice here. We started with curried mussels — easily the best part of the meal. A good portion, the curry sauce was phenomenal. I really liked my boyfriend’s meal. He got a delicious shrimp risotto with peas, corn and hominy. It was so good! Flavorful and cooked well. Balanced and a good portion size. It was fab. Unfortunately I didn’t really care for my entrée. I got the steak. It came with broccoli rabe which was super bitter(gross) and a chilled tomato corn sauce which — and why isn’t this considered — made my steak cold before it got to my table. No thank you. For dessert we got pumpkin crème brûlée — can’t go wrong there. Overall our experience was okay. Nothing to write home about but good enough that I know we’ll return.

the sugarbeet was surprisingly good. I had heard about the place from friends and has read up on Unilocal so excited to try and it lived up to the hype :) Local and quality ingredients in Longmont. who would have guessed. Short ribs were melt in my mouth tasty and the veggies were cooked perfectly! Want to go back soon. Yay Sugarbeet!

My wife & I have celebrated our last three anniversaries at Sugarbeet. I understand a couple owns Sugarbeet. I wanted to say thanks for the incredible food, service, & experience. Tonight was wonderful. We have never had a bad experience and have told many of our friends. Enjoy all three courses.

Disappointed. I’d heard and read good things about Sugarbeet but the hype didn’t live up to the reality of my experience. When I walked in it didn’t have the dynamic feel I was expecting from a farm to table restaurant; it felt sterile. My friend and I waited a little bit before our waitress came over and while she was nice she didn’t engage with us. We ordered drinks, she took the order, came back to get our food order, stopped us from ordering because she wanted to go get our drinks, came back and said, «he’s going to bring them,» and then a few more minutes later someone else delivered the drinks to our table. My friend ordered a salad which she said tasted good but it looked like something out of a Chili’s. Just not a good presentation considering the price. For our mains, we both ordered the«risotto.» That’s where things took a nose dive for me. Risotto is supposed to be creamy and spread out on the plate. This is one food group that I don’t think a «personal take» take on the essence of risotto is needed or appreciated. This was essentially rice pilaf. That I paid $ 24 for. That didn’t taste all that great and needed salt. That I only ate half of. For dessert I ordered the grapefruit/champagne sorbet which was very good. I should have just ordered that and the wine I drank which was also good. I again swallowed the bitter disappointment of my main meal and experience when I got my bill — $ 48 including tip for rice pilaf, a glass of wine and sorbet.
