One of the better local art festivals in the area, because instead of closing down a couple of streets or blocks in the downtown area, this one takes place on the green lawns of Lincoln park, just west of the downtown, across Foothill Expwy. It’s an open-air art show, they set up the usual tents and art displays, food court area is there, drinks too. Fine art pieces range from watercolor and oil paintings to sculpture and ceramics, glass, mixed media, textiles, leather, wood, jewelry and unique gifts. Entertainment, food and beverages make this an ideal occasion for shopping and family fun.

the 37th annual event took place may 19 – 20, 2012. i’d never attended before, nor had i ever been to lincoln park, so i didn’t know what to expect. as soon as i entered the park, i saw lots and lots of art, scattered throughout lincoln park. there was a wide variety of art, as i saw paintings from high school students and sculptures and jewelry from local artists. there were also some food stands available, as well as local bands providing live entertainment for guests. i really enjoyed walking through all of the artists’ booths and admiring their work. lincoln park is a great place to hold this festival as it is just the right size and has lots of grassy area where guests can bring a blanket and make it a picnic. note that the festival committee also provided tables and chairs, which was great. this is a great, low-key festival to attend, and i recommend bringing the entire family.
