If I can rate 0 I would, yeah this is a fast food place but common if a customer ask u for a cup cover u don’t tell them that you’re too lazy get some. Aside from that, the people who work here are so mindless and loud. I feel bad for the owner.

I ordered 3 items — chinese style fried chicken lauriat, garlic chicken lauriat and siomai. The cashier told me that it would take 5 – 7 minutes for the garlic chicken and asked me if I was willing to wait and I said yes cuz what the heck, 5 – 7 minutes would go by quick. 10 mins passed, no food had come out yet. Ok, I could wait a bit more. 15, 20 mins passed and my order FINALLY came out except the garlic chicken. Mind you that I am a very patient person and rarely complain, but at this point I wasn’t very happy anymore. So I had to follow up and told me it would take 2 more minutes. But of course that wasn’t true. That garlic chicken took 30mins in total to come out… for like 5 pcs of chicken! 5FREAKINGPIECESOFALMOSTBITE-SIZEDCHICKENTOOK30MINUTESTOCOMEOUT! I just don’t understand it! They, being a so-called«quick service restaurant», shouldn’t take so long to have to cook their food. I’ll probably not go back til I see more positive reviews.

I come here once in a while for their taho. Not really a big fun of Filipino-style Chinese food so usually I just get the taho, which is pretty pricey(4 bucks) but you do get a pretty big cup of it. Parking is pretty bad so if you can find street parking nearby that might be a better option.

We were just here yesterday. Our food took 45 mins to be ready. People came after us and they got the food right away. What I didn’t understand was, there were enough workers present and others were just standing and chatting. We got there, ordered, then 10mins after 2 people came ordered… got their food, sat, ate, and finished, but our orders still didn’t come for another 15mins. Then they apologized! Is that all you gonna say?! You guys are a «fast food chain» do it right! I tried their chef special 2 pc. chicken and regret it. Too salty super dry and too painful to eat. Gotta say, I am not coming back here!

Very delicious fried chicken. The skin is crispy and the meat is juicy and marinated well. My favorite is definitely fried rice with chicken. However the round ball desserts(or whatever they’re called) are just gross, so greasy and you can tell that they have been deep fried and just sitting there for a long time. The drinks here is decent, not good but not the worse. I will be back for the rice w/fried chicken.

They have a great service and the food is great. I just hope they expanded their menu a little more. Otherwise, I would’ve given them a 5.

Its alright. The food is okay. The price is cheap but the serving is terribly small. Not too many choices on the menu. The service is just okay as well. They greet you and serve you well but the sincerity and friendliness is unrecognizable. Good for quick chows and not for a hungry man.

Bless my friend, last night we went here to grab a quick dinner around 9:00 pm and fortunately they were open. I had breakfast at night(again) ordered the bangs with tapas. It isn’t the homemade type, but it was good because I was hungry. Best comfort food ever. For drink, I had the taro shake, which was too sugary, and it is nice it had boba. The garlic fried rice is delicious. Next time, I am trying the fried chicken! My friend got the beef soup and siopao. I was kind of jealous LOL. Everything looked good here because I was hungry… they have Filipino breakfast, noodles, and drinks like taro and ube shakes, siaopao, and halo halo for dessert. For Filipino fast food, it was OK. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it did not have the homemade feeling to it… other than that, it’s great.

Authentic Halo Halo. I’ve eaten at Chow Kings in the Phillipenes often and it’s nice to be able to taste the same flavors here in the US

This place is great! It may not be perfectly authentic, but it does the job. If it’s your first time, note: it’s a fast food joint. Try the pancit(noodles), friend chicken, Filipino breakfast or the steam meat buns!

I haven’t had halo-halo since I lived in the Philippines & today I happened to go to my optometrist which is next to this chow king on Vermont St. First of all, the cashier today was so super sweet, friendly & patient with all the demanding doñas that wanted their food ASAP! And best of all, the Halo-Halo was perfect & my bf who had it for the first time absolutely loved it too! Maraming Salamat ChowKing!

Okay Filipino/Chinese food. I had the garlic chicken, which came with white rice and noodles. It was decent. I also tried the shrimp/sausage fried rice with shumai on top. I liked that better than the garlic chicken. Parking was no issue at this location. Service was friendly. I may go back if I’m in the area and have a craving since the price is good.

Cheap and good for the value. I always and I mean always get the crispy soy chicken solo with a extra egg.

We came here wanting some halo halo and taho. Our cashier, Jomar, was amazing! Epitome of great customer service. We ordered two halo halo, one taho, and one mango shake. They were already out of buko pandan shake, a little disappointing but we got over it. Jomar bought out orders to our table, a first for any Chowking location, based on my experience anyway. The halo halo was made better compared to other Chowking locations. The taho always hits the spot. The mango shake was a little too sweet. The location is on the small side and peppered with ads which is a little too much. Overall, we had surprisingly pleasant experience considering it was our second choice. This place should have been a first choice to begin with!

Yes, this is a Filipino eatery showcasing itself as Chinese. However, unlike most Filipino and Chinese eateries, the servings are small. I did like the pan-fried tilapia(in their Lauriat Menu). It came with rice, noodles, some Asian chips, a dumpling, and two(2) sesame balls. Sounds a lot, right? But naaah, because it was a little of this and a little of that. About the pricing, I don’t understand why the price of $ 5.99 had to include a soda. They could have made the serving bigger and done without the soda.

DISCLAIMER! This is not a Chinese restaurant!!! It will say Chinese, and have Chinese style fonts, but this is a Filipino fast food place… that has Filipino interpretations of Chinese food. Went here for the first time on my lunch break the other day. It’s located in a plaza with a Goldilock’s, Pacific Seafood Market, Pampanga Master Grill, etc. There’s even a Korean spot called Taste of Corea… yeah they spell it that way. Maybe it’s a taste of Chick Corea and is actually a Jazz joint??? Probably not. Service 4⁄5 Pinoys! All Pinoys! Another sign that this is not a Chinese restaurant. They’re fine, and took my order down and I even got some Tagalog in. Most of the people that eat here are Filipino, so it helps to know the language(pronounced lang-qwaydze) Ambience 3⁄5 Small spot. Enough seating for maybe 15 people. Fairly clean. Parking 1⁄5 SUCKS. This lot not only has too few spots for the number of businesses, but the people that come here SUCK at driving and parking. Not Chowking’s fault… but I needed somewhere to vent. Food 3⁄5 Tocino ChowFan(sp?) This was basically friend rice with egg with Tocino on top served in a bowl. If you’ve never had Filipino tocino, it’s not bacon. Pork shoulder marinaded in salt and sugar and cooked in water. Water evaporates and sugar comes out of the pork, and the pork fries in it’s own fat. Tasty. This dish got the hunger job done, but nothing to write home about. Shumai Forgettable. Tasted like microwavable shumai you can buy at a Korean market. Overall 3⁄5 Foods not outstanding, but I would come here again if I had a specific craving for the things I had today, or if I wanted to try their Pancit Canton.

I stumbled upon this new fast food joint during my last visit in LA. It was pretty early around 10:30 am and craving for asian food so I decided to go to one of my favorite vietnamese restaurants in Korea town. I kinda figured that it was too early so they weren’t open yet but luckily Chow King was. My first impression was this place only served chinese food(cause of the logo) but I was wrong. Most of the menu items are noodles and filipino comfort food :) It’s been a while since I had tapsilog so I was in heaven! Also try the Asado Siopao buns. They’re fresh steaming hot. Comes in bola bola as well but the Asado is better.

It’s Chowking. If you’ve ever been to one in the Philippines or here, its all fast food Filpino/Chinese-ish food. Food 4*: It is what it is. BF had the beef wonton soup, he said the beef chunks were good, and his fave, siopao asado. I had the breakfast meal with bangus and egg and garlic fried rice(yum!). The boba in their thai iced tea was a little hard in the middle. Otherwise, everything was as expected compared to other Chowkings. Service 5*: Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The cashier was very courteous. Cleanliness 4*: They were cleaning up regularly and mopping the floors. Overall, the place was clean. Overall 4*: I’d be back. I wish they had a bigger menu like they do in the Philippines(I miss the Chinese sausage with egg on a siopao bun-like sandwich). But it’ll do for quick fix :)

It seems like everyone has their version of Chinese food – there’s Korean style, Indian style, American style, and Chowking has Filipino style! This place is small, fast food type of joint, and since it just opened last week, it’s busy and sloooow. I wasn’t super hungry, so I had the beef wonton soup, it was fine, definitely fast food style. My bf had the salt and pepper pork lauriat meal – comes with a small scoop of mushy rice, a little chow mien, 2 shumai, and 2 sesame balls. Pork was pretty chewy and not that crunchy. We also shared 2 siopao(Filipino version of Chinese steamed buns). The pork one tasted kind of weird. I oddly preferred the ground chicken one, add some of their siopao sauce and you’re set! After all the mediocre food, I was still a little hungry and was fooled by the delicious picture of taho(Filipino version of Doufu Hua sweet silken tofu). Took it home and it was nice and warm, but tasted like it was previously frozen and reheated if that makes sense. The boba were mushy too. Oh well. Back to Korean Chinese food :)
