Quickly stopped by for cocktails and desert and was pleasantly surprised. The coconut cheesecake was delicious!

I had both breakfast and lunch here during my stay at the W. My cheeseburger was a stand out – fresh, delicious and cooked perfectly. The bartender was a doll and my Diet Coke was never empty. All in all, a great lunch. Breakfast was basic and did the trick that particular day. Although after the night I had, I’m pretty sure I only cared about the caffeine. Lol Regardless, kudos to Delphine.

Grabbed dinner here last night before seeing a show at the Pantages. It was fantastic! There were two of us dinning and Katie was our waitress. She was refreshing, patient, friendly and informative. We wanted to eat light so we decided to share a few items. We had the Kale salad and truffle fries, both good. The stand out by FAR was the Spaghetti Squash Carbanara! Not too heavy, super flavorful and a bit surprising. Creamy, fresh peas with a pop, crispy bacon and a perfectly poached egg!!! I actually woke up thinking about this dish today :) One thing to be aware of– they automatically include a tip when calculating the check. Something I am not a fan of. Will be back

BEWAREOFTIPPINGSCAM!!! First off, this review has nothing to do with the food. I want to bring to your attention that this place includes a «suggested» tip of 15% already added into the total bill! In other words, THEY put in the tip and then have a line for an additional tip. If you do not catch this, you will actually double tip them. Luckily, I caught this in time. I politely asked the manager about this practice and his response was«foreigners who visit Hollywood don’t understand how tipping works… so this acts as a convenience». As a result of all this, I had him redo the bill and NOTIPWASLEFT. On a positive note, I got laid later that night from my date.

DISAPPOINTING! We came for Christmas dinner and no Christmas tree, no Holiday decoration, no happy spirit! W hotel was the sameHoliday menu was just an ordinary menu, salad is not eatable… The only good thing we had it was our waiter and host, they tried hard to make us feel good We live close by but we are not coming back…

Food was okay but service was unbelievably bad. Let me explain. My wife and I stopped by here for a quick bite to eat 30 minutes prior to start time at the Pantages Theater. The host and server were very accommodating and assured us that the food would be expedited so we wouldn’t be late to the show. We ordered the spaghetti squash and crispy calamari appetizers. Both arrived at the table in record time. As for taste, the spaghetti squash was amazing! Think of pasta in a cream sauce + bacon without the carbs. The calamari wasn’t as impressive. Great seasoning but the calamari was rubbery and dry. This is where our experience at this restaurant went downhill. In our rush to get to the theater, I left my car keys on the table. I didn’t realize this fact until after the show was over, around 10:30PM. I went back to the restaurant to check if they found my keys but it was already closed. Luckily, I saw the bartender and some guests drinking at the bar so I knocked. The bartender made a motion that the restaurant was closed but I motioned back requesting that he open to the door so I could speak with him. He again motioned that the restaurant was closed and I then repeated my request to speak to him. (At this point, any reasonable person would assume that I am fully aware that the restaurant is closed and want to speak with someone about a different matter. Obviously, this fact escaped the bartender as he walked over with an annoyed expression on his face.) When the bartender unlocked and opened the door, I explained to him that I had dined at the restaurant earlier that evening and suspected that I left my keys at the table. I asked him if anyone had found them? He responded that«it might be my lucky day» because someone had turned in a set of keys. After verifying what kind of keys I lost, he turned them over to me and sarcastically said, «No need to give me a reward because I like doing good deeds.» I simply left. Let me be clear about this. The bartender was sarcastic, facetious and rude. He may try to argue that he was being sincere and honest but he was not. Let’s examine the facts. First, I never said anything about«giving a reward.» For what purpose would he even bring that up except to:(a) imply that he deserved a reward and/or(b) be a jerk? I think both. Is it unreasonable to expect a business and its employees to safeguard the property of a customer without an expectation of a reward? I would hope that a simple«thank you» would have sufficed. Second, even if a reward was justified, who would have a rightful claim to it? I would argue that the finder of my keys would have the best claim. Given that we were served at a table at 7:00PM, it is more likely that our server(or even a busboy) found our keys and not the bartender. Most bartenders I know tend to the bar and are not in the habit of clearing tables during the dinner rush. Even the hostess has a better claim to a reward because the keys were kept at the hostess stand. The only claim that the bartender can make is that he retrieved the keys from the hostess stand when I came looking for it. To be fair, I don’t think that the bartender expected a reward. I believe he said those words because he was annoyed at being interrupted after closing time while he was chatting with his buddies drinking at the bar. Also, I’m sure he’s dealt with countless people requesting to dine there after business hours and he probably thought I was one of them. However, I had a legitimate reason to speak with someone employed there after hours. He was the only person that I could see through the window that could assist me. I apologize if I inconvenienced him in any way but he should have been gracious in kind when he realized that I wasn’t a rude customer looking for a late meal. Rather, I was someone who was desperately looking for his car keys so he could take his wife home on a late, cold night in Hollywood.

A friend and I came here before seeing a show at Pantages — we had passed by it before but didn’t know much about the place. Delphine’s exceeded our expectations– we were seated right away, the décor is stunning, the food was wonderful, and our waitress, Rebecca, was awesome. She was so sweet and helpful when figuring out what to order– the Delphine champagne cocktail is my new favorite drink, highly recommend it! We are definitely making Delphine’s our new pre-show go to whenever we’re in Hollywood.

I came here for a lunch meeting and I thought it was okay. The food was decent, but the service and ambience were great! There was a 90 year old man celebrating his birthday with 2 of his buddies, such a great thing to see! The group was so adorable, they sang HB and had presents! The best part was when they left, they stopped to talk to us. I think we even saw a celebrity, but none of us could identify who it was, lol. Overall, this place is very trendy and happening place, even at lunch time.

So, we just happened to be looking for bru-lunch one day in Hollywood by foot, and we entered this spot because it was open. Yes, before noon(maybe 11:30?), so many locations had not opened their doors yet… As such, we were likely among the first five people seated there. Not an issue — we were hungry! As such, here was my order: –Delphine Cobb Salad: Grilled herbed chicken, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, shaved onion, bleu cheese pink peppercorn vinaigrette –Bloody Mary What was nice about their hearty Cobb helping was that its individual ingredients were separated out, and I could mix them as much or little as I wanted, to my heart’s content. Came with small jar of bleu cheese dressing to apply. And, bacon! Also, I did find using their restroom amusing in that its sparkly mirrored walls reminded me of Las Vegas. Only afterward did I learn this restaurant was actually part of the W Hotel itself, which you could see hints of through the blinds. It all made sense now! The place was packed by the time we left. Guess we were«early risers». Great and informative service here!

You can make a reservation, but they space out seating people(even as early as 6pm) so as not to overwhelm their apparently understaffed kitchen. So you’ll still have to wait. Reservation or not. This evening, once we were finally escorted through the huge empty restaurant, they tried to seat us in the middle of a room between the only occupied tables, both of which had loud young children. We ended up leaving and going to a real restaurant that has a kitchen that can support cooking for guests and doesn’t make people wait needlessly.

Was catching a show at the Pantages across the street and a fellow Unilocaler recommended coming here. We had parked in a covered lot and walked over. Once you get past that sketchy Hollywood grittiness and once you’ve stepped inside, the ambiance is LA hip AND classy. We sat outside in a nice, covered patio area. The hostess was friendly, and we were seated outside. Our server(I think her name was Julie?) was excellent with her recommendations. Cocktail offerings were unique with catchy theme names based off the shows. We caught the Motown show and the drinks were named accordingly. I ordered the kale salad with jalapenos and added shrimp which was a flavor explosion. I would def recommend coming here even if you don’t have a show to catch!

With a great atmosphere and knowledgable servers, I really wanted to like this place. It’s attached to the W Hotel which is where we were staying. In my opinion the food is only mediocre and extremely overpriced. We did breakfast here a couple of times and dinner here once. We went more out of convenience rather than quality.

Monday HH was the only reason why I decided to give Delphine a try. It was practically empty and with such an open space and abundance of available seating, it felt like no one else in LA was taking advantage of the HH. It’s attached to a hotel. EASTCOASTOYSTERS $ 1 – SMALLER than West Coast but a CLEANER and CRISP aftertaste. WESTCOASTOYSTERS $ 2 – EARTHY, MEATY, sea water aftertaste. SEAFOODCEVICHE – only SHRIMP and SQUID, NOFISH. Decent and refreshing but portion size was hella TINY. FRIEDCALAMARI – one of the WORST I’ve had in a while. The squid was tiny and the portion was so SMALL in comparison to the size of the plate, which made it seem even smaller. The batter was bland. The marinara tasted like it was from a can. My bf and I had the HOUSERED and HOUSEWHITE wine. Both were awfully SWEET but if you’re into that taste, they do give you a DECENTPOUR so it’s worth the $. Service was alright but our waitress was kind of all over the place. She never mentioned where the oysters were from specifically. **Overall, I would not come back.

File this under ‘ — - people problems’… Due to past delicious dishes I’ve had from here, I made this one of my last stops before heading home. I knew those truffle cheese fries wouldn’t let me down, so I was looking forward to digging in once I returned. Upon doing so, I realize there was absolutely no truffle oil on these fries. Not one drop. I’m not sure if there is a price difference with regular vs. truffle, but regardless, they were missing a key ingredient. I asked for them as they were on the menu; I didn’t ask for any ingredient to be removed. Within the hour, I reached out to the restaurant and of course, have heard nothing. I suppose they really don’t care about the customer experience, as current reviews show. I wouldn’t think I would have to try my food before I leave the establishment, and I understand that is another risk of getting things to go, but for a ‘nicer’ restaurant, this is a rather poor business model. Have things changed for the worst, or has it always been this way? I’ve never had an issue before, so I’m not sure myself. Disappointing, since they normally do their dishes so well, and the hostess/bartenders have been great. Sad when a place goes from being fairly decent to a fail due to lack of response from management. I live so close, but finding an equivalent within reasonable distance won’t be easy, but I’ll make the effort.

I came here with my family on a Sunday evening to have dinner before seeing a show across the street at the Pantages Theater. For a French Brasserie the ambiance here is relatively casual and inviting. The staff, while a little bit absent minded, are friendly and efficient. What we ordered: Crispy Calamari– Slightly above average calamari. Not the worst I’ve had, certainly not the best, yet still a solid appetizer. Roasted Candy Cane Beet & Endive Salad– I don’t like beets very much but this salad was actually good. The toasted walnuts and pears really add a nice touch to Beets which by themselves, I find to be disgusting. Pan Roasted Mary’s Lemon Chicken– This is what I should have ordered but did not, because I saw that someone at the table next to us had ordered. It comes with multiple huge lettuce leaves on top that look lazy as far as execution goes and boring. But don’t be fooled by the appearance because the chicken is very juicy and flavorful. If I come back I will definitely order this for myself because after tasting a piece of it I wanted to cancel my order. Braised Beef Short Ribs– When it gets to the table you might do a double take because it looks like chocolate cake, but it isn’t. The short ribs are very tender just as they should be. Grilled Loup De Mer– A little bit of a let down. The stewed tomatoes really didn’t do much for me and the fish(a white fish something like Tilapia) really didn’t excite me. It was solid, nothing I’d order again though. Wild Pacific Prawns with Lemon Fettuccini– Another solid dish. Generous helping of prawns and not too much of a overwhelming lemon-y flavor. Truffle Cheese Fries: pretty good although I would have liked to have seen better ketchup served with them. Regular ketchup is a cop out to me these days and rather boring. Spice it up a little bit. Chocolate Brownie– If you like chocolate, get this! We substituted the Earl Grey Ice cream for regular vanilla. We also ordered another dessert. I forgot the name of it but it’s like a bread pudding with caramel on top. It’s REALLY good so make sure to try that as well. The only thing I didn’t like about Delphine was that the waitress and busboy kept putting our silverware on the table without a napkin underneath it. I don’t know if you guys have seen busboys wipe down tables at any restaurants, but the way it’s done pretty much everywhere has convinced me that I need not ever use utensils that have touched a table in a restaurant. Call me bougie or whatever, restaurant tables are disgusting…

We came here because honestly, we forgot to make a reservation somewhere amazing. Our experience was a bit lackluster. This isn’t the first time I have been here but I didn’t review it before because I kept thinking I most be missing something. The menu is overpriced, both in terms of quantity and quality. The only thing I found outstanding is the bar, the truffle new potato side, and the oyster mushrooms. I had a great Pinot but for 20 bucks a glass, I expect it to be great. The filet was ok. The prosciutto wrapped cantaloupe was good, but crazy small portions. The ahi salad, again, okay, but so little ahi you just feel ripped off. The sweet potato fries were okay but not the best. I like them served with a complimentary dipping sauce, and these were served with syrup. Too sweet. I started out annoyed because they wouldn’t let us sit where we asked to sit, which was comfortable looking booths right across from where they sat us. Almost no one was in the restaurant– they weren’t crowded. So it made no sense to me. We went to the bar afterward. It was nice. Really pretty décor. Wish I could have just ONE decent experience at the restaurant because I really like hanging out at the bar.

I honestly enjoyed most of my dining experience at Delphine. I say most because there was only 1 out of 4 dishes that had me questioning whether they forgot how to cook, or were in a rush to get food out. Let’s set the backdrop so that it might make more sense. It was on the night of a Wicked showing at the Pantages.(This restaurant is directly across the street from the Pantages.) Because of the massive amount of people attending the play who wanted to stop by the restaurant for food, I’m sure they were quite busy and trying to get all their customers’ food out quickly. =FOOD= 1) Foie Gras«Torchon»(12) — the foie gras had golden raisin purée as well as picked red onion. This dish was my favorite of the evening. Of course any time someone says foie gras, I wouldn’t think twice. It was very good and very smooth. I’m pretty sure I’d have eaten the entire log without the bread on my own if I was alone. 2) Dungeness crab ravioli(17) — mascarpone, yuzu, brown butter, smoked sesame seeds. This was the deal breaker here. The Dungeness crab meat was great… but it was the ravioli that turned the tables. It was still hard… like uncooked! When we cut the ravioli, you can still see the raw pasta… for both of them. Maybe it was because it was a busy night… but I’d definitely skip this one next time I’m here. 3) Spaghetti Squash«Carbonara»(13) — english peas, damon serrano, green garlic, soft egg, black pepper. This. Was. So. Good. I was actually kind of skeptical of ordering Spaghetti Squash as a dish. Who would’ve thought that this super tender and flavorful vegetable would actually be really good?! All of the little ingredients decorating this dish made it my 2nd favorite dish of the evening! Although this was a special, I hope they still have it around next time! 4) Truffle fries — So I’m a really HUGE fries fan… especially when there’s truffle oil involved. The truffle fries here were pretty good, though not the best I’ve had. The truffle oil seemed to be super strong when it first arrived and I was so excited!!! But after a few fries, the flavors disappeared. I mean, I’d definitely order it again if I come back, but it isn’t my top truffle fries. =SERVICE= The service was definitely great. Our server was so energetic and so friendly. He made us feel very welcome and kept a smile on his face with great enthusiasm. I wish more servers were like that. Our food came out pretty quickly and our waiter came by often to check on us. I hear that if you tell them you’re trying to catch that night’s show, they’ll help you keep track of time too. =FINALVERDICT= Besides the little set back of the raw ravioli, I thought the place was a hit. They’ve also got a good Happy Hour for drinks(which we didn’t order from). We were seated near the front with the bar, but from the looks of it, the rest of the restaurant the décor is very nice… chic and modern. Great service, located close to the Pantages, and pretty good specials… I’d say this place is somewhere to try!

Came to Delphine last week before watching Wicked at the Pantages theater. The hostess is so considerate and asks if you’re attending the show to make sure everything comes out on time, and you are not late for the show. For appetizers, we ordered the ahi poke — mmm I love my poke and the ahi tuna was really fresh and tasted amazing paired with the avocado and chips. I ordered the white bass and it was really nicely cooked and flavorful with a side of truffle cheese fries. And, finally for dessert we decided on the crème brûlée which interestingly had blueberries in it and were topped with adorable little blueberry muffins on top of it as well.

On my night off, my boyfriend and I decided to have a date night in LA and stopped by here for dinner before we caught the Fri night showing of Wicked! This place is super close to the Pantages theater; it’s pretty much right in front of it. Reservations not needed since we were able to be seated within 2 minutes around 6pm. So what did we order? 1. 12 oz grilled bone-in Filet Mignon($ 42): My boyfriend ordered this dish and we were very pleased with the texture and taste. We ordered it medium rare and it came out at the right temperature. It comes with potato mille-feuille, which I think is a fancy version of a delicious soft potato patty that they top with some fancy cheese. Very rich and yummy. The grilled oyster mushrooms and shallot jus was also good(5⁄5). 2. Seared live Maine diver scallops($ 31): The scallops were delicious. The texture and flavors were perfect and spot on. The scallops came with a medley salad of artichoke, watermelon radish, arugula with black truffle vinaigrette. I wasn’t a fan of the salad since it was a bit tangy and acidic for me. The scallops were the winner though(4⁄5). 3. Smashed weiser potatoes w/crème fraîche and black truffle($ 8): A very rich and flavorful side! The potatoes were so good. The cream and black truffle were a great addition to kick the dish up a notch. Highly recommend and definitely meant to share(5⁄5). 4. Mascarpone ice cream + Toffee sticky pudding($ 10): I was very pleased with this one. The ice cream went so well with the Toffee sticky pudding. The texture of the sticky pudding had the right amount of sweetness. I don’t have a big sweet tooth, so that says a lot. I like how they did not overly drench it with the toffee sauce because that would just make it soggy(5⁄5). Delphine is a modern and chic restaurant. The aura is pretty romantic and classy. It’s perfect for a date night for those who want to hang out. Service is friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Also a tidbit, they do add an automatic 15% to your tab in order to provide for their employees’ health insurance benefits.

Sexy vibe. Sexy ladies. Great burger. What’s not to like? At the W Hotel, seating before a performance at the Pantages(literally, across the street) is at a premium. I recommend reservations. It’s a terrific option. I like. The décor is kinda New England. Soft woods, soft blues and whites. It’s by way of the Innovative Dining Group(IDG), fine restaurants such as BOA, Riva Bella, Sushi Roku — the people got skill for design. I like. The brunch menu is small, but covers all the basics. Seafood to pasta, chicken to beef, salads to soups — a little of everything. I like. Dinner has more options, and much more seafood. I chose the Delphine Cheeseburger with a side salad. Super soft brioche bun, bacon, egg, aged cheddar, caramelized onions, tomato, lettuce. It was eyes closed good. I like(4.5 stars, and easily makes my top 15 on my «Berger knows: Burgers» list. ). With professional, eye candy girls serving and hosting, there’s plenty to be entertained by before a show — rather, appreciate the fine talent. I liked it. I really, really like it. – Demerits: service waned. Hard to flag down(they were busy), and there were a multitude of omissions(salt, pepper, mustard, dressing) for it to be a 5.0 star experience. Tip: $ 8 validated parking for a Pantages show.
