If you want to enjoy quality family time over a nice meal, than I recommend you this little hole in the wall place. It is very inexpensive, cozy, clean, service is good, and food is delicious, they have lots to chose from, Fish Tacos, Shrimp Cocktails, Clam Showder and 7 Seas soup, Beers, Micheladas, It may NOT be the best looking restaurant, but what’s on the inside is what counts

Shrimp cocktails are delicious here. I see they are always so bust but the service is really fast and there’s never a long wait. Everything tastes so fresh here and they have micheladas!

Went here for a jaiva tostada and a small cocktail. The cocktail was good and had plenty of shrimp. It was cash only, but for about 4 people it cost about $ 27 which was really good. They are fast and have a t.v. I came on a Sunday and they were nice enough to change the channel from soccer to a Raider game. It was a clean place and has parking on the side on a private lot. Overall I would come again if I was in the area. The attire is super casual, no need to be fancy.

Too bad Unilocal won’t allow you to use minus starts… I was passing through and look at their menu(fish tacos & shrimp tacos) by the pictures looks good(even though you can’t see the fish nor the shrimp) I decided to stop by and eat… My worse $ 10.95 I have ever spent in my life… The shrimp and fish are breaded and deep fried… STOREBOUGHTCRAP… Nothing is fresh except the half of pound of cabbage on top with sour cream and salsa. If you ever want to try some good fish tacos, go try fish taco express(1mile away) or baja fish tacos(about a mile away too)…I hope I don’t get diarrhea with this crap of food!!!

The place is great. Like everyone says, the fish and shrimp tacos are the best. The cocktails are good. The sopa de Moriscos is my favorite. The only thing i don’t really like are the tostadas. They use those parakeet tostadas that I have never liked so I don’t get those there.

Huge fish tacos, I love the spicy, creamy sauce they put on here better than Tacos Baja Ensenada. They’re bigger than over there too. This is a little place I can never remember the name of, but I know the way there by heart. Food is authentic and fresh, although it is a little divey it feels comfortable to me. A lot of locals eat here and it isn’t really advertised. It’s always my first choice for fish tacos, and the campechana is pretty good too. They only have Jarritos but that’s cool. The beers are pretty cheap. They have private parking lots both on the side and across the street. Cash only. Don’t let it fool you, this place is great.

Cash only. Private parking lots. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages — wide selection. I’ve only been to a couple of these types of places & I’m always wanting ceviche. This time, it was an order of fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and a small cocktail. Oh, I forgot about the imitation crab on a tostada… yes, a very large order was placed. I keep forgetting how largely portioned everything is and tend to over order what my stomach can handle before going into food coma. I would recommend ordering 1 – 2 items off the menu for starters as you could always order more later. My favorite was the octopus cocktail — it came with slices of avocado, saltine crackers, cilantro, etc. I added lime juice and some of the hot sauce that was on the table for added flavor & spiciness. The shrimp and fish were both lightly fried & were topped with shredded lettuce and either pico de gallo or salsa. The tostada was layered with diced tomatoes, some onions here and there and imitation crab and slices of avocado. Tasted kind of plain, so I added some lime juice. There is seating inside — good for groups. 1TV& lots of sea/beach décor. Good price for the amount of food you’re getting. Come hungry.

This place is ok. Nothing too special. You get your money’s worth. I still think that El Jato is THE place for mariscos in East LA. The tostadas and cocteles are good. Should I ever go back, I’ll try the tacos since my brother swears they’re the best he’s ever tasted.

You could drive right pass it if you don’t know it’s there and from the outside it doesn’t look to appetizing, but that all changes once you go inside. Super fresh seafood, generous portions & awesome prices. I luv their fish tacos, shrimp ceviche, campechana cocktails & seafood soup. I’m a costeñita & I know good seafood and believe me this is great seafood.

At first glance, I was really apprehensive upon entering. This place is filled with people who perpetuate their status by having more kids than they can control. I am not a fan of little kids running up and down aisles yelling and crying. Especially when I am trying to enjoy a decent meal with my man stud. I am less of a fan of the parents who can’t educate them in proper restaurant etiquette. Now, it would be unfair to the business, to rate them solely on their clientele inability to control their children. So I’ll only deduct one star, since I’m sure the owner can ask patrons to keep their rambunctious children in place. Asides from that, El Paraiso is magnificent! Their shrimp tacos are freaking MONSTERS and über deliciosos!(my mouth is watering just thinking about them) the sauce they use is so good! It’s not overpowering or overly creamy, and has just the right amount of kick. These babies are definitely a must try! The Campechanga(I think that’s what it’s called) exceeded my expectations! The bf told me how good it was, but man, he did not do it justice! This place did not disappoint! If you’re in the mood for sea food and happen to be in the area, do not hesitate to try this place!

Quantity is no substitute for quality. Sure the fish and shrimp tacos are monsters, but they don’t even taste that great. This place is no paraiso. I don’t have a problem with the shady neighborhood or the dirty tables but I do have a problem with the food. We ordered 1 shrimp taco and 1 fish taco and the total was over $ 6. We were a little shocked by the price but when the tacos arrived, I understood why they were so expensive. These things were the size of burritos. There was so much fish and shrimp and cabbage and sauce that I felt like I was eating a tostada. There was no way to pick up the tacos until the very end. I felt like I was eating cheap fish and chips and shrimp out of the freezer section of the supermarket. It seemed like the seafood was breaded with some sort of bread crumb mix. I’m not Mexican but I have been to Mexico and I’ve eaten a lot of fish tacos and I don’t think that’s the type of batter you’re supposed to use for fish tacos. But then again, everyone else in the place looked Mexican so maybe I’m wrong(please don’t hurt me). Although El Paraiso was a huge letdown, I do have to say that the guy across the street who sells street tacos at a stand is amazing. That taco al pastor was the best I’ve ever had.

If you like Mexican seafood, man is this the place! I’ve been coming here for a few years, and it’s so good! I usually order the breaded shrimp plate(camarones empanizados) and the Campechana, which is the greatest Shrimp Cocktail ever. It has shrimp, octopus, oysters, etc, seriously one of the best. The breaded shrimp are so tasty and come with tartar sauce to make them even better. The fish and shrimp tacos are huge and totally delicious. They come with so much shrimp and fish and are served on 2 corn tortillas with lots of cabbage. They also sell beer and wine coolers, if you want to enjoy a Corona with your Shrimp Cocktail. All of the food here is good, inexpensive, and comes in pretty big portions. They’re cash only and there is not an ATM near by, so be prepared and come with cash. It is in East LA, so it’s not the nicest place or in the nicest part of town, so make sure you lock your car and enjoy. :)
