Better Business Bureau worthy complaint!!! Please pay attention to the bad reviews!!! Keep reading!!! The only reason I’m giving it one star its because it will not allow me to write a review without pressing on at least one star! This place is overrated! Food is awful, servers are servers and they basically have to be nice to make good tips… but do they like working there? Hell NO! I made reservations 2 in a half weeks before this past Saturday 1⁄30. I explained to the manager Eli(who needs to retire already) that I had a party of 25 coming on a party bus. He said no problem your table will be ready. I confirmed a week before, again Eli said yes we have your reservation ready. I confirmed Saturday morning(the day of) Eli had a major attitude and said I told you last week your reservation was ready. That little stupid attitude should have been a sign that it was going to be a disaster! We get there at 9:45pm…I go to the front and they tell me to give them a few minutes we were early n our table should be ready soon. 10pm, 10:15, 10:30…we are still outside on the party bus waiting… I finally snapped!!! I asked to speak to Eli the manager. The guy at the front door said there is nothing he can do he can’t tell people to leave to sit us down. So this manager Eli… Comes n tells me there is nothing he can do either n he’s doing the best he can. Why make reservations if you already knew you have events like weddings n quinceañeras? Then they tried to charge us $ 5 to come in. This place is greedy for money… they completely messed up n still tried to charge us!!! At this point I’m boiling!!! I went off but nothing I said helped. We were still outside waiting. At almost 11pm they take us to a private room upstairs… mind you we had to walk thru a wedding reception, pass a stinky bathroom to a room upstairs where there is no music n the waiters took forever! I guess they were just trying to shut me up and calm me down. To go dance we again had to go thru a wedding reception n pass by the stinky bathroom. It was too crowded no room to dance… so here we go back up to the room upstairs thru the wedding pass the stinky bathroom. The manager never showed his face again. The guy at the door taking the money to go in and dance… did come to our«exclusive private room«to ask us if we were OK… I explained to him this experience had everybody stressed out, no one wanted to eat. It was my mother in laws birthday n it was the worst night ever. I finally told him we would pay for the mineral water we order($ 6.00) n we would be leaving. Thank you but no thank you. This place is aweful n whatever good reviews it has… they probably were lucky that night. I would never come back or even recommend this to anyone. I read the reviews but underestimated because people exaggerate. I should have listened to my gutt instinct!!! If I want a good steak worth the price… I’ll go to Morton’s…not this place! This place is full of chunti people, no class, no education n a bunch of macho men who are threatened by strong women!!! Don’t go there, don’t eat there n never make reservations with an elderly man as a manager. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB. Restroom odors should not be even close to where people eat. Disgusting! This place is basically a chunti ass retirement home!!!

La verdad, ni se antoja, muy incipida se ve esa comida, la carne todavía con sangre, ni bien cocinada, y pesima presentación de platillos.

Great food and great service from Julie. Rare do you get service like this from anywhere. Got the 32oz and crab legs and both were excellent.

Love this place although I’m not a fan of salsa. Food is always A+. Prime rib, desserts, side dishes, salads have been just right. The lemon martinis are very strong and I can’t have those anymore lol Plenty of parking and always the best service.

I came for a company Christmas party. The venue is spacious. Location is convenient, and parking is ok, but service was spotty. They had two options: chicken or vegetarian. Unfortunately, I chose vegetarian; my coworkers who got the chicken were almost done eating it by the time the vegetarian dishes came out. Plus, the vegetarian dish was not that great. I got to try some of the chicken from a coworker’s plate, and that was good. The salad was good(my favorite part). Lesson — order the meat, not the vegetables. Their salad is good.

Came here with some friends for our holiday gathering. Being in a large group of around 15 makes it hard to keep track of the bills. Somehow we ended up with a few platters of calamari and upgraded cheese bread. They tasted good, but definitely not worth the price. When looking over the bill we also noticed a charge for sashimi… seriously? We told the waitress and had it removed. I ordered the ribeye and it was decent, not great. Most of my party seemed to like their food, but I have had MUCH better steaks for the same price if not less. I very much prefer to eat at North Woods Inn instead of here. I will probably not be coming back.

Finally trying this place late night and hear the familiar words: the kitchen closed 10 minutes ago. But the maitre de must’ve saw the look on my face and somehow let me order my food and it turned out as good as it gets, and even better with its Mexican style sirloin. The French onion soup was voluminous and perfect… Then out of nowhere comes a little side order of spaghetti; amazing! My waitress Maria T. was profressional, warm friendly and attentive. She is literally a dream come true! The net result was I could only finish a third of my main dish. Very impressed and would give them 6 stars if possible. I’ll be back your once a week for sure now!

This review is based on my first and only visit to Steven’s Steak & Seafood House in Commerce from 12÷22÷15 at around 12:30 p.m. The hubby & I had a lunch date so we decided on Steven’s since he has had many good filet mignons here during business meetings. ATMOSPHERE Formal or business attire, although, I saw several people dressed casually.(How boring!) They played tasteful music. Not too loud, though, it might be at dinnertime and on nights when they have bands and deejays in the ballroom. TVs in the full bar area. It was decorated nicely for Christmas. RESTROOMS Mostly clean, but a bit outdated. No baby changing station. I would NOT bring my own toddlers here(both under age 3). SERVICE There was definitely room for improvement, but I believe the holiday season overwhelmed the staff a bit. You should find your waiting service here to be slightly if not considerably above average. FOOD — table bread — there was a variety of soft rolls and bread with the crispy outer layer that I like — appetizers — if you enjoy seafood, try the baked mushrooms stuffed with crab($ 15.50) — Chardonnay — try Riva Ranch by Wente Vineyards for a smooth glass with vibrant fruits and other hints of sweetness(14.5% alcohol, 2 glasses @ $ 23.00) — the man had yet another filet mignon($ 32.50)… cooked nicely and full of juicy flavor. His meal came with a salad which he passed over to me. I do not like dressing. So when I asked for my usual olive oil and garlic salt, the waitress said they only had the olive oil. Boo. Hiss. The salad was fresh and had a great mix. The salad plate was cold which I like a lot! — I chose one of the specials. It was… one lobster tail cooked mostly nicely(a bit tough in one area) and the New York strip($ 19.95). I was just hoping for a little more flavor in the steak. I shouldn’t have tried my hubby’s filet mignon. The tenderness — as far as NY strips goes — was good. This plate came with steamed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes which were fine. The presentation was nice. — The BIGGEST surprise was my French onion soup. — Ask to view the dessert tray. They were out of a couple of items, but the chocolate cake slice(walnuts on the icing, $ 7.30) that we shared was great! TIPS — make a reservation when possible — valet during lunch is complementary, but if no one is waiting outside once the usual lunch time slot is over(we left at 2:30-ish) just go to the bar to retrieve your key Review #437 Unilocal challenge 118

It’s that time of the year! Where the whole work crew gets to go out and munch for Christmas lunch! They chose Stevens steak house. Not my first choice but obviously I’m pretty much down to go wherever they choose. They had a table ready for us and the waitresses were nice and friendly. The waitresses seemed to be kind of everywhere but I guess that’s how they run things??? We ordered calamari, some cheese bread, and quesadillas for appetizers, and I ordered a king crab leg and Filet Minon. The appetizers were good(cheese bread is delicious! Calamari is a little too stretchy, I didn’t have the quesadilla…)The food came out in pretty decent time. My steak was cooked pretty perfect, and the king crab legs were also really good as well. It came with rice, which looks like they literally threw it into the plate. It was really messy. Everyone else thought the food was pretty good. No one was amazed, but satisfied. Though I was kinda full I pushed myself to get tiramisu since I’m a sugar fiend. The desert was huge!!! Everyone was wondering what I was going to do with that big of a cake, lol. It tasted really good! In my perspective, I think this spot is a good celebration spot. I wouldn’t really come here on a regular basis for lunch or dinner. If you have a group celebrating, I think it’s a fairly decent place. I’ve been here before for group celebrations and everyone usually has a good time!

ALWAYSSATISFIES — THEIRRATINGSHOULDBEHIGHERTHAN3.5STARS I can’t believe I never reviewed Steven’s. I looked thru my reviews and NADA. I’ve been here many times over the years for dinner and a few times for lunch, but not for the 63 years that they have been here — I’m not that old. Always left fat and happy, and usually with a doggie bag unless I was a total porker. Last night I dragged my butt to the Pre-Thanksgiving Bachata Bash. Being a non-Latino I had to google the meaning of Bachata: a genre of popular music of the Dominican Republic performed with guitars and percussion. OK I knew the music already, thought it was Cuban. A rhythmic band and I liked the HB singer. Everyone was polite and the testosterone level was nowhere near annoying, which was very good considering the large crowd. :-) WOW. The difference between dinner time and party time is night and day. I hardly recognize the place. I look forward to the expansion of their inadequate restrooms(Hint, Hint) I must admit I like seeing the exotic Latina women who show their shape with confidence. These happy girls smile and laugh. ‘Nuff said or I’ll get myself in trouble.

Been here on several occasions and encouraged family to host a baptism at the site. Everything was fine until I ordered my drink. I wanted to tip the server, Armando, because I intended on ordering for my in laws all night. He rudely said«I’m not taking you money right now» and walked away. He brought my drink with a crappy attitude and told me my drink costed 10 bucks. I handed him a 20 – which 8 other people at my table saw me do. He came by again and accused me of not taking for my drink. The whole table was appalled because I was the first to hand him cash. He walked away with again, rolled his eyes, had crappy attitude and mumbled«great, lost out on 20 bucks». Assh*le. I hope Armando makes the crappiesr tips tonight for his lack of professionalism and his entirely inappropriate behavior. Oh. Update: Literally the moment I submitted this review. He came to tell me he found the 20 – and asked if I wanted another drink. He can suck it.

The experience was around a 2 since these muthafucks sit huge birthday parties in the middle of your damn romantic date o_O So my PIC and I wanted to have a niceish dinner. We stayed in Commerce because we were going to pick up my girlfriend so we could head out to Club joi ;) So we choose Steven’s. I’ve always driven passed the signage on the 5 and this was a perfect opportunity to give them a try. So we roll up to the clusterfuck valet and get out like where the F is the entrance. I was confused because there were a bunch of people outside but no one was doing anything nor going into any damn doors. I hate walking around a place trying to figure some shit out. We walk in and we had RSVPs but the host’s were still a deer in headlights. The sat us in one of those large circular booths and there was a couple across from us and one next to us, so we’re thinking ok cool and across the room to the right they had long tables for parties so I thought. Well they had one big ass table in front of us. So we see two ladies come through and sit at the long table. They talk to staff about where will other people in their party sit and they say oh this booth here. I’m like WTF so were going to be in the middle of this bullshit. UGH. The waitresses are super nice and sweet but tooooooo over worked for these big tables and us couples. Seriously it was a hot mess and even more of a mess when the band was setting up. Nothing romantic about this date at all. I suggest coming here to have a celebration, wanting to salsa with your boo and if you’re just a regular that already knows what their in store for. I’d come back with my gfs to have some fun but this seriously is NOT a date night spot on the weekends! Or Monday night football. So the menu is quite large. It took some time to figure out wtf I wanted. I knew for sure I wanted escargot and oh my was that good! Especially with those crack rolls. OMG those rolls and dipping them in the garlic butter from the Escargot was divine, I’d go back just for that and for the French onion soup. WOW the PIC ordered that instead of a salad and I can honestly say that was one of the best French onion soups I’ve ever had. Also with your meal, you get a random ass plate of spaghetti LOL. I want to know the story behind that HAHA. It was passable but damn I’m already full before my meal. If you’re a girl, you will be leaving with leftovers unless you share with a beast of a boyfriend. I ordered the Ladies cut with Lobster tail and he did the end cut Big jim Jr. cut which was more like the Big Jim. His cut was so huge it was a turn off to him LOL. If he was around 300lbs it would be like eating a burger but he’s not and we had sooooo much food leftover LOL I hope my gf had fun eating that shit LOL. As far as the taste of the food. My lobster tail was cooked perfectly BUT they didn’t offer melted butter which is a given so I had to chase homegirl down for some! My prime rib was medium rare and I love that but my friends on social media said it looked raw. Whatever LOL. It did need a little salt, but nothing like dipping it in Au jus can’t fix: D Scotts end cut was good, but it just was to damn much food lol. The mashed potatoes need to be cooked with buttermilk and a little salt and you will have a perfect mash. Of course we were toooooooo full to think about dessert and with all this bullshit being in the middle of a birthday party, all we wanted to do was get the fuck out of there. Like I said, I’ll come back with friends and maybe for lunch because those burgers look good. Stevens really needs to have an area solely for couples!!!

Came here a few times for sponsored dinner events. I would say this is probably one of the worst steak houses that I have been to. The steaks are tough and very super sized, and even at the sight of the meat, makes you half full already. I had a medium NY steak, and even though it is medium, the steak was still very chewy, and hard to swallow Prices are standard compare to other steakhouses, however, I consider it way overpriced given the poor quality of the food. The only good item on the menu is perhaps the fried calamari, which again is just average, but good in comparison to the rest of the entrée. The location is not the most conspicuous, parking can be a challenge if there are events going on. The restaurant is pretty dark overall, poor lighting. I get the low lighting ambience is nice for steakhouses, but the low lighting here is a bit spooky. Overall I do not recommend.

Went to Stephen steakhouse with my family of eight. Look for parking for disabled in the parking lot in front, and It appeared to be all coned off. I pulled upfront and drop my parents off and told the valet I was just dropping them off because we couldn’t find any parking spaces for disabled. He said that would be fine to drop them off. Later l found out there was parking in the front lot, but the valet failed to tell me that. Everyone in our family order the prime rib 12 ounce or the 24 ounce cuts. Also, everyone ordered them medium rare. Five of our dinners, the meat was cold. The fat on the cut were already white. The pasta and the salad/soup were good, but the bread and the butter were very salty. Also, a restaurant that big, has a restrooms for one person at a time. Hope our next visit will be better.

My favorite family steak house! Visiting Stevens is a must! Pros: All items are served fresh, steaks are cooked to perfection. I visit the steak house often to catchup on the flavored items and specials. If your a steak enthusiast you can not go wrong with Stevens. The filet and steak tenderloins are both my personal favorites. The baked potato is a must. On the dinner menu you also get a side of spaghetti as this is part of the long going tradition from the 50’s! I highly recommend visting for Lunch as you will be set for the rest of the day with their great lunch menu and selection! The family owned business makes you feel right at home! A++++ all the way. Cons: the distance to my residence in LA is the only thing that comes to mind. Novelty item: the amazing specials, the fresh bread served, spaghetti side and amazing filet! All part of the signature things you will love about this steakhouse.

We came here to celebrate one of my uncles birthdays. There was about 23 of us so we decided to do a sort of banquet style menu where all of our guests paid in advance. The place has decent ambiance, gorgeous chandeliers and nice booths unfortunately it ends there. We took up a few booths so ours was being tended by a few servers. Servers who by no means understood a word we said, I asked one to bring me lemons and he literally looked at me as I asked him to bring me drugs. The«official«server was terrible to take our drink order. Our waitress for some reason seemed to have an attitude or something but she was unpleasant to say the least. The server was horribly inattentive and very rude. When my mother set up the reservations she pre ordered the food. We had about 4 different options so I’d guess it wasn’t too difficult to mess up. It started with the bread. Stale, hard and for some reason overly salty. Next came the salad, Caesar salad to be exact. It was BEYOND over dressed, with way too much Parmesan cheese. Next the main course, which took quite a while to get to us even when it was already pre ordered. Mind you I’ve been in the food business and my sister is a chef so we are sympathetic to the ways of a kitchen. I got the chicken and shrimp, the chicken looked just sad. It was stuffed with spinach and topped with some sort of sauce. Adored with a small scoop of mash potatoes that were so bland, three small pieces of veggies, 2 over garlic shrimp and my personal favorite a random red tortilla chip stuck in the hill of mash. Parsley was added for some random garnish for seriously no reason. I speak for my meal only and it was pathetic, esp since it cost $ 25 . I had high expectations for this place considering we’ve been here several times before and the only reason for the 2 stars was for the décor and drinks. I will not be coming back anytime soon.

I took my dad here for a make up Father’s Day, because we both hate waiting in long lines. He was super excited to be eating steak. We were seated in 10 minutes, it was not much of a wait inside as it was hard to find parking on a Saturday night. Our waitress was friendly, very well mannered, and very helpful. She explained to my dad how the menu works and recommended what to order. I told my dad to get the huge steak, and if you’ve been here before you know their steaks are HUGE! My boyfriend and I shared one, while my dad ate one for himself. He demolished it.(that’s how good it was.) He managed to eat the whole thing by himself, like my jaw dropped… But he said he just couldn’t stop! Haha. The meat was juicy and tender, very moist. I love that they give spaghetti as a side dish here, and it comes with unlimited baskets of bread. Mmmmm carbs! + SERVICE was great and very attentive + FOODWASDELISH and very big portions + unlimited soda refills + they can dim lighting in certain areas of the room. + my dad loved it, so it was well worth the money + she offered to take a picture for us, without me even asking…(I think because she totally noticed my dad taking pics of his food) + waitress gave us a cheesecake on the house for us to share since it was our first time! Super sweet! So we tipped her very well!(; I had bought a $ 20 for $ 40 deal a year ago, and finally used it so the total came out to $ 60-$ 75 before tip. Great experience, and my dad has been asking me to take him back ever since! Yums!

I have been coming to Stevens Steak & Seafood House for years. It is the only true business lunch/dinner place in the Commerce area. Triple S is located on Stevens Place & Eastern Ave, and serves items like shrimp thermidor($ 9.95) for lunch specials, and chicken roberto(chicken breast stuffed w/peppers, et al) as a regular item($ 13.95). The best comparable restaurant in the area I can think of is previously reviewed Dal Rae in Pico Rivera. My colleagues ordered the two items above. In addition, we shared garlic cheese bread($ 5.20÷4 pieces). I ordered a bowl of french onion soup($ 3.10), and a caesar salad w/salmon($ 19.95). First of all, the bread was very good. You could really taste the garlic, and there was plenty of cheese. However, it wasn’t as good as Basilico’s in HB: 4 Stars. Secondarily, the French onion soup was OK. The broth and onions were really good, but there wasn’t much cheese. The French onion soup at Dal Rae is much better because there is a big slice of cheese on top of the bowl: 3 Stars. Lastly, the salad was very good also. The fish was cooked medium rare, and the portion that included avocado was large. I could not finish all of the salad. The only downside was there was no anchovies: 4 Stars. Regarding the service, our waiter Ramon was very good. He has been my waiter before, and he has been consistent. He was on top of things, and informative about the menu: 4 Stars. On the other hand, the ambiance is outstanding. This place is OSAF — Old Skool As F*k. It is like going back in time to the 70s. The lighting, motif and everything else is like out of a movie from the era: 5 Stars. If you happen to be in the area, drop by Stevens Steak & Seafood House because it is a winnah. They offer good food at a fair price, and the service and ambiance will impress you.

I’d worked in the neighborhood for years, and my colleagues would always come here. It was past time for me to try it. My friend wanted a steak for dinner and then it was our intention to go miniature golfing. I thought, «Golf ‘n Stuff, so why not Steven’s?» Coming up Eastern, you have the option of parking on their free lot, or turning at the corner, nearer the door, and parking valet. We were seated in their moderate-sized dining area – low lit for ambiance. It was clean, but I still hate sliding across booths. Regardless, I soon for got about that getting lost in the impeccable service. Stellar service is half the battle. And I tell you, each time I took a sip of water, it was refilled, they were so attentive! After perusing the menu, our server detailed the cuts of steaks and the meal plan. My friend decided he was gonna be a big man, and get the Big Jim. I had the Rib Eye. His prime rib was DELICIOUS – and way too much! We have dinner for the next two days. My rib eye was in need of flavor(maybe some garlic butter?), but still delicious. We both had garlic mashed potatoes instead of baked potatoes. The veggies were a sliver of squash and a sliver of zucchini Most of our food went home with us because the first course was this deliciously warm bread, then soup(French Onion or Clam Chowder) or salad, then full-on spaghetti! The spaghetti meat sauce was delicious! All in all, great experience. We apparently went on karaōke night, and with no sound barrier between the dining room and the bar, our ears had to suffer the intolerable. But good food and good service=I will be back.

4 ½ stars. I brought 7 clients in after touring them at my place of employment. I made reservations so we had a large table with my name posted on a sign. As soon as we sat there were two waitresses taking our drink orders. Most of us went with with prime rib sammie which was served with soup or salad and steak fries. The prime rib was tender and was garnished on the side with horseradish and au jus. The service was spot on and the gals were refilling our beverages and constantly checking in to see if we needed anything. BTW my business meeting was a success and we landed several nice projects worth over a million dollars!
