Okay so im all for paying for good food. El venado owner you are ridiculous over charging your immigrant hertige people an arm an a leg for simple home made food. One question how do you sleep at night?. CASHONLY I can only imagine why. Listen your food is okay. But charging 9 dollars for a plate of eggs, beans, platanos is insane. Whomever you are stop being greedy. Your people are humble, hard workers and loyal to your business because they to like to enjoy something from back home.

it was my first time there on Monday and i am definitely coming back. The place gets crowded cause the food is delicious. I am taking off one star cause the parking lot is small, boo! but if you wait you’ll get a spot.

Delicious Guatemalan dishes. Love their platanos Fritos. This place is always packed as it is a neighborhood favorite. All employees are friendly and keep the establishment very clean. Recommend for those looking for some good ol Guatemalan comfort grub.

If I had to eat at only one place for the rest of my life… this place would be it. Their platanos are to die for and don’t even get me started on the beans and crema. I’m not exaggerating people! It’s a must try!

Good service, the food is good. The place is big so you can get somewhere to seat. The only thing is the parking.

Only issue is Unilocal says they accept cards under More Info, but it’s CASHONLY… so that pissed me off… BUT the service was quick & friendly & the food was pretty darn tasty We tried the Adobado, Carne Guisada, Chile Relleno, & some pan dulce. Everything was delicious. My dad HATED the Ensalada Russa. I’m sure I’ll visit again, even tho my dad said he will not

Well, what can I say, this place brings me back to my favorite Central American food, refried beans, sunny side up eggs with tomato sauce, bread and much more… I recommend this place as the best typical Central American food.

Girl with short hair and glasses was a total bitch. Asked her if the bread was fresh because the day before, the bread I had purchased with my dad was pretty hard, it was gross. She gave me an attitude and basically told me to fuck off. I was in shock, but with my big mouth I wasn’t going to let her push me around. Everyone else in there is pretty cool I guess, but beware of their bread. It’s not always bread from the same day, it might be old.

Alright this is what it is: Guatemalan panaderia with comedor style restaurant. Spanish only really. The young guys are from here and speak English, but dont come rolling thru and holding up the line with questions really — cash ONLY — corner store situation parking — good breads: tostadas, campechanas!!!, quesadillas, pan frances. Guatemalan bread ONLY.(No conchas) All the staples, but not a wiiiide variedad. — all cooked food daily like cafeteria style for you to order from. — deals: homestyle sandwiches! super lowkey made with pirujos! Here’s some options I recommend under $ 5(you’re welcome) pan con chile relleno(not vegetarian!) and pan con pollo(chicken salad style) they both come with lettuce/cream/salsa! or get it in the side. They also have panes de frijoles volteados con crema y queso y de longaniza for under 5. the ones i think are 5.50+ are the pan con carne asada & pan con pollo adobado with your choice of the lettuce/cream/salsa OR frijoles con crema inside. — licuados are good but not like bionico shop quality. Def some artificial flavoring there. but hey. — in the morning there’s warm avena, champurrado and huevos fritos. — other foods include platanos fritos, tamales(not very homestyle), caldo de gallina(haven’t tried it, it’s like $ 10 [sketch] but sidenote, the caldo from the place next door was a huge tristeza.) Hope my review was useful. Plenty of tables, wheelchair accessible though it gets way too crowded when its busy.

Great Food ! Ok some I’m pretty lucky that this place is at walking distance from where I live. My god they have the most delicious Guatemalan sweet bread in all of LA. Freshly made every morning starting at around 4 am. They of course have other Guatemalan favorites that are delicious. My favorite is pan frances(french roll) with eggs, beans, sour creame and cheese inside. It is the best ever! I recommend this place, once you try their food, you’ll become a fan!

OMG!!! This is an amazing place, my first time eating Guatemalan food. Its awesome. I really have no idea what anything is called although they have these small leaf/rice/chicken rolls with a home-made orange tomato sauce which you must try if you visit. They are concealed in a kind of bean/soy cover and look like little hot pockets… If you pay with card, you must buy over 10 bucks, if not bring cash! Also they have a parking lot however it is small and you might have to park on Union or Alvarado. It smelled like Mary Jay in the parking lot though… =/ Strongly recommend this place! They have authentic Guatemalan drinks as well. I have been here twice, and plan on returning.
