Amazing hole in the wall Mexican food place! I used to pass by Panaderia Guerrero every day but I was a little scared of going in there because well I have no Mexican food cred! Basically like how non-Chinese-speaking folk can be really intimidated by hole in the wall Chinese food places in the 626! I finally ventured over here with my boyfriend and we ordered: * Torta: The torta tastes exactly like how his mom makes(so authentic!) *3 tacos: MASSIVE! They’re like 2.5x the size of El Taurino’s tacos and basically the same price. I didn’t really like how saucy the pastor was but I was all about the chicken & carnitas! I also ordered a couple of pastries because well. it is a bakery after all. Didn’t love these — didn’t taste fresh. They had a bread that looks like Chinese pineapple buns but ours is way better — heh. But ALL that was under $ 15, such a great deal. You’re not going to get more authentic than this!

The food does look good but I didn’t try it and I won’t be trying it or going back. I bought some bread and at home I found a big surprise as I was eating it, a maggot ! Gross! Especially since my 2 year old and I were eating the bread. I don’t know if it came out of the bread or the bag, we just saw it in the table between our plate and the bag. I did not inspect the bag because I didn’t want to find or see anymore, I just got everything and put it in a trash bag and threw it outside. I did call the number listed and it isn’t in service. It’s not a good feeling in your stomach when you realize such a thing.

Back in 2009 I went to get a money order next door one day, and my girl at the time was complaining about being hungry and ran in to get a taco. Once I stepped in and saw the mole, chilaquiles, and costillas en salsa roja, I knew i had to try some. I got a combo plate of mole and chilaquiles with rice & beans. It came with queso cotija, avocado and crema. It was the bomb and so full of flavor. The best part is each combo is only 5 $…shhhhhhhh dont blow up the spot and make the prices go up or have them make some vegan, gluten free, veggie bullshit. Just let them do what they do and continue to do, what they do.

I was so hungry and still had to wait 2 hours before my Kagaya dinner. Ooooo pan dulce! Got pan dulce & melon aqua fresca for $ 4. The aqua fresca is tasteless and I didn’t like my pan dulce at all. I didn’t see anyone else buying anything from the bakery but some people got food from the restaurant. Maybe the restaurant itself is good. 2 stars! Panaderia Guerrero’s pan dulce is not yummylicious!

The only reason I stopped at Panaderia Guerrero is because it’s on my way from and to work. Oh I was hungry that day ! The place does look like a cheap hispanic place — no offence… Their menu is totally in SPANISH… I just randomly picked something from the menu which happend to be a greaaat choice! So, they make their own breads… and I ordered a tonge sandwich… sound grosse right !? Oh boy… that sandwich is AWESOME… so much texture… mmm ! The sandwich is pretty big… inside: crunchy lettuce, fresh tomato and jalapeño… the tongue is cooked very well, sliced(probably grilled) DELICIOUS !!! Ask for: Torta con lingua And the price !!! $ 4 tax included I also had their home made milk-strawberry drink so at the end paid $ 5 Seriously you can’t beat that deal ! Oh and CASHONLY ! It’s the kind of sandwiches that the guy tries on the Food Channel :) Sorry, didn’t post pictures because I was hungry but I promess I will soon.
