The food was pretty good, but it didn’t really stand out much to me to be honest. The burger was pretty amazing, but the 3 mini burgers were just subpar. The hotdog is nicely grilled, but I’d much rather go for the small hot dog stands on the side of the streets. I wasn’t a big fan about their seating. I’m claustrophobic, and it was kind of hard to have all the tables so close to each other that I was more or less forced to eavesdrop on some conversations.

It’s weird to walk into a place and have the host/waitress look at you like you’re supposed to ask her a question. She stood there silently with a «What do you want?» look on her face until I said«We’d like a table.» Food took a long time to get to us. I didn’t like what I ordered, which is totally on me. I didn’t attempt to send it back or anything. I just didn’t see anything else on the menu that was appealing. Would be great to see more healthy options. In any case, when waiting tables, should you notice that the person eating has taken one single bite and stopped eating, the right thing to do would be to ask if anything is wrong. The bloody mary tasted like a catcher’s mitt. Could do with a bit less horseradish. The artwork on the walls is wonderful, and $ 5 a drink during brunch is nice, but this place needs to make some changes before I’d return. Start with firing that lousy waitress.

The food was above average but nothing spectacular. I had a bite of the fat dog and it tasted like a regular hot dog to me. But can’t go wrong with that! I ordered the short rib hash and ate it all up. It was good like I said and I enjoyed it but nothing special. My friends loved their salmon pizza! Basically lox, not my thing but the pastry and cheese were pretty good. My friends seemed to enjoy their $ 5 spicy bloody Mary’s, but the tiny mimosa for the same price didn’t seem worth it even though she said it was almost all champagne. It’s unfortunate their menu is so limited, especially on the weekend. I’d be down to try other things from here. It’s very convenient to stop by after hiking Runyon canyon, only about one mile away. Love how it’s so dog friendly! So many cuties around. And then you can stop by Food Just For Dogs down the block for nutritious puppy food. It is self serve so luckily our friends showed up first and were able to snag a good sized table for our party of 8 on the patio. Service was pretty slow though.

Fat dog is a fantastic joint to grab a dog & brew. Saw the photos of THEFAT dog and knew this was a pit stop worth having for lunch. Upping entering they have some great outdoor seating with space heaters available should need some warmth. Inside is a brand new bar to grab one of the many brews on tap + Tv’s should you wanna watch a game. My food road trip was simple. I started with the buffalo wings and damn they were amazing and exploding with flavor(I can’t wait to get more). We ordered the Fat Dog which is a massive all beef hot dog that was so large it stuck outside the ends of the bun. The Dirk Digler of hot dogs. My short rib dip was exceptional a must order. Flavor was outstanding, the meat pulled apart without hassle and whatever bread they used was prefect for this culinary wonder. I must say for a lunch spot you can’t go wrong, it gets a FRANK B thumbs up!

I visited this restaurant for lunch and a couple of drinks. This is a relatively small restaurant, with a bar along one wall and some tables for diners. There is not a lot of privacy in the dining area, with the tables fairly close to each other. There is a chalkboard behind the bar that lists the craft beers and other drinks that are available. They have an interesting selection of craft beers, so this is a good place if you want to try a new craft beer. The menu has a lot of interesting items and is good if you want to try some new items or standard items that have a unique take. I had their alternative burger, which is a vegetarian burger, with sweet potato fries. The burger was above average in terms of vegetarian burgers that I have had. It’s not a black bean burger — I think I prefer vegetarian burgers that are black bean based. Service was very good, but the restaurant was not too crowded on the Saturday after Christmas for lunch. Prices were not too bad — a lunch and two beers for two people came to about $ 70 with tip.

Drinks and environment. — 4 Stars Food. — 0 Stars Had the Hot Wings($ 11). For $ 11, even in a decent bar, you’d expect more than 6 wings. $ 2 per wing is really expensive. If the wings would have at least been good I would have still given 3 or 4 stars, however they were literally inedible. I love salty food and usually put way too much on all my food I prepare at home(per all my friends) … yet these wings were incredibly salty that they were beyond inedible. I tried a second wing, thinking it might be just 1 bad wing but the same crazy just salt flavor. The real disappointment came when I told the bartended who I had ordered the food from about the problem, that their food is inedible … all I got was an explanation that this is probably due to the wings having a rub and then later sauce added … no apology, no offer to replace them or take them off the bill. For a place that tries to appear more upscale that’s just no way to treat a customer. I ended up taking the other 4 wings home, thoroughly wiped all sauce off today and reheated them … and they still were too salty. Come for the drinks, but go eat elsewhere.

Had brunch here today with my two doggies and my friend and her dog. They allow dogs on the patio dining area, so today there were lots of furry friends out there… great friendly service! The food is pretty good too, I had the fat dog and friend had the keisch(spelling), both really good, shared my dog with the dogs and they loved it too! Also, there is free parking underground, so nice and rare for LA! Definitely coming back here!

Décor? Loved! Food? EHHH. Got the fish and chips & the batter was awful. It wasnt crispy at all. It was literally like corn dog batter. Gag. The potatoe wedges were good!(But I wasn’t even offered any ketchup or dipping sauce). Drinks? EHHH. Service? The bartender was not welcoming & seemed completely miserable with her life. Had zero customer service skills. She was so bad that I literally inhaled my food and drink & was on my way. You’re in the customer service industry, girl! SMILE! Very disappointed to have not enjoyed this place after my loooooooong drive.

Brunch time with bright airy bar seating, friendly servers and they had the NFL Sunday ticket but I gotta tell you this place probably had the best breakfast item I’ve ever tasted… the breakfast pizza which was basically not a pizza at all but flaky melt in your mouth pastry crust almost reminiscent of a crescent roll topped with seasoned cream cheese, fresh lox, red onions and capers. The short rip breakfast skillet was amazing too and the male bartender made me one of the best mincheladas I’d had in awhile. Ill definitely be back for brunch and to try out the dinner menu. Btw if you go to the back of the building there’s FREE parking for customers visiting the plaza where fat dog is located.

We come here for brunch often and sometimes for happy hour and dinner since it’s close by. Great local place, you can even bring your dog if you want. The food has been consistently good — the service is pretty spot on. For brunch: try the short rib hash, baked eggs, chicken fried chicken, the oysters, or the house cured salmon pizza. And of course mimosas or a Bloody Mary. :) For happy hour/dinner: try the flight(slider trio), jalapeño mac-n-cheese, The Fat Dog, braised short rib French dip, Mary’s Farm Cast-iron Chicken Pot Pie, sausage board, or the Swedish meatballs. Oh and they have yummy sweet potato fries and onion rings. The fish-n-chips are pretty good too but you could just go to Connie & Ted’s up the street for the best fish-n-chips in the neighborhood. Pass on the grilled chicken sandwich and the fried prickles(they’re sweet pickles).

Johnny Tsunami?! My friend swore that the guy behind the bar was the actor who played Johnny in Johnny Tsunami, but we were too embarrassed to ask him directly. So it would be nice if someone can confirm this since there is just one review that talks about him(but unconfirmed). Come on people! Help me out please. Food here was okay. I felt like they were overpriced for they were. I ordered deviled eggs, french dip, and The Mutt(cocktail). Deviled eggs come with two deviled eggs($ 5). French dip comes with onion rings($ 14), but you can substitute this for rainbow fries(fries & sweet potato fries) for $ 1 more. The Mutt(«mochi infused rock sake cloud, loft & bear vodka, lime, agave, asian pear & dill») was really good! Service was pretty good too. The parking structure is in the back, but there are metered parking spots in front of the building as well. It was an okay experience. I would not mind going again, but I probably would not go out of my way to come here unless I am in the area.

Came for brunch on a weekend with some friends, surprised it was pretty empty. Food: Smoked salmon pizza: This was a beautiful dish! Filo dough pastry crust topped with smoked salmon, capers, some sort of herb cheese, arugula and fried eggs. I really like the flavors altogether. It was a pretty generous portion as well! Short rib hash: This dish was relatively smaller in portion, maybe because it’s very rich, almost too much for my taste because of the hollandaise sauce. It’s basically a piece of toast topped with shredded short rib, potatoes, poached eggs, and the hollandaise sauce. It was good but I think the sauce was too much compared to everything else in this dish. Service: Our server was really nice, but the food took a while to come out.

Great happy hour! And the most important aspect. Puppy friendly! I really enjoyed the many appetizers we sampled. My favorite was the mini burgers of all things. Which was surprising because I am NOT a burger kind of girl. I even ordered a second round they were so delicious. My second favorite app was the sweet potato fries. Because, sweet potatoes can do no wrong in my book. Third favorite was the Brussel sprouts. They were a big soggier than I like my Brussel sprouts but that’s not super fair because I honestly like everything extra crispy. The taste was on point.

Stopped in for lunch today for the first time and I was delightfully surprised! Nestled between a quirky cute pet store and a charmingly pretentious coffee shop, Fat Dog has successfully mixed concrete modern style with a welcoming warm pub vibe. Grab a menu, grab a seat, order at the bar, and watch some soccer on the screens while you sip your crafted beer or cocktail and wait for your food. I had to go with the Hot Dog since it was my first time, but I was skeptical about the potato chips as a side. The waitress assured me they were made in house and I felt better about that. After trying one, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Not that I could have; as it states on the menu, «substitutions are respectfully declined.» My kind of place! I didn’t drink because A. I’m working, and B. I’m on the tail end of a nasty cold. But they have a full bar and several delicious beers on tap. I can’t wait to go back when I’m off the clock and feeling better. This is definitely a place to take friends and family who want to have familiar food with unique flare in West Hollywood.

Good Mid-City happy hour option! There are discounted drinks and food of course, but I especially like their free parking. Fat Dog is in the same complex as Coffee Commissary and Lindy & Grundy so they share the parking structure(accessed from the alley). I tried their MINICHEESEBURGER, which is tiny but nicely made. FRIES though are all I really need during happy hour. That and a cold beer. The happy hour choices are Corona, PBR and a pilsner brewed locally by ANGELCITY, which is what I got. Their other happy hour drink offerings include well drinks, house wine, a rosé and a hard cider.

Awesome brunch spot! Here’s why: — Free parking in the garage in the back. How often do you find that in LA?! — Ample seating at 11am on Sunday. No reservations accepted, so I’m glad there was no wait! — Cute patio with umbrellas for shade and bowls of water for doggies. I enjoyed getting to check out all the cute dogs during brunch; better than people-watching :) — $ 5 cocktails, and the 3 we tried were all good! — I am not normally a champagne fan, but I REALLY liked my champear(champagne with pear brandy). — My friend enjoyed«the rescue» so much that he got 2! It’s an IPA with St. Germain and orange juice; interesting and well-balanced. — My other friend thought her Fat Mary(bloody mary) was excellent as well. I tried a sip and it was hearty enough for a meal! The celery salt on the rim complemented the hearty and smoky drink well. — The chicken friend«chicken» confused all of us as well as someone at the next table over… don’t you think the quotes imply that it’s not actually chicken? I thought it might be a soy chicken or something… but nope, I asked the waitress and it’s just chicken. Anyway, it was freaking DELICIOUS. The egg, gravy, and crispy chicken went so well together. I found the outer crust of the biscuit a bit too dry/hard, but the inside of the biscuit was perfect. — Baked eggs with chorizo and white bean were pretty good as well. — The cast iron quiche was also nice; smoked bacon and caramelized onion are a nice pairing. I really enjoyed my experience here and am looking forward to coming back! The regular menu looks great, but I think I’m going to have to come back for brunch too because I just love those $ 5 cocktails =D

It was a nice brunch spot, especially with a dog. The place is super dog friendly, and I saw a dog at almost every table in the patio when we went. Most dogs were very chill, but one of the dogs that came towards the end of our meal was either very excited or way too playful and got uncomfortably close to my dog, almost jumping on him. And of course, my 25 lb. dog freaked out. His owner insisted that his dog was just playing and held his leash closer, so that was all good. I have mixed feelings about the food. Short rib hash was one thing that grabbed my attention. Grilled ciabatta, poached eggs and hollandaise? With short rib? Yes, please! The presentation was cute. Very rustic hip. And my first bite seemed great until I started tasting the saltiness of it all. And my eggs were over cooked. Brioche bread french toast was good. Mimosa was a definite plus. Service was friendly. Street parking wasn’t too hard to find.

Came here for dineLA happy hour week special. I had the late night menu. They didn’t have the burger slider, hot wings, or the cauliflower. I understood that. It’s closer to the end of the day and ingredients run out. What I don’t understand is how you staff only two waiters for the entire restaurant. It took over 15 minutes to come get my order. And I even didn’t get a napkin until I asked. The food was okay. Sweet potato fries are what they are. Nothing particularly special about it. Garlic aioli isn’t particularly spicy. Either that or the fries were a tad too salty. The dineLA exclusive wasn’t terribly good either. Sweet bun with an apple slow and pork belly. Pork belly was good but the apple slaw tasted just like a regular cole slaw. No apple sweetness or tartness. Slow service was okay this time since I had a long news article on my phone to distract me but regularly, that would be a no-no.

Wonderful gastropub located in the up and coming Fairfax District. It’s an inviting space great to grab happy hour with friends or in my case, a DineLA worthy experience. The décor is sleek and modern with photos of adorable pups splattered all over the walls! And I’m talking restroom walls as well! It’s not anything tacky though, just a subtle cool vibe. Arrived on a Thursday night around 6:30pm and the place was nearly empty besides a few occupied tables. The staff allowed us to choose our own seats and our server promptly brought over the happy hour menu. We perused the menu for a bit and was so excited to see that they offered such a great selection for happy hour. The menu consisted mainly of appetizers and decently priced drinks. The apps included mini cheeseburger, hot wings, crisp fried cauliflower, etc and my top favorite POTATOSKINS! More on those potato skins later… Happy hour is M-F 4pm-7pm. I can definitely see myself coming back here with co workers specifically for this. While deciding to order and waiting for your food to arrive, ask your server for the complimentary Rosemary almonds! They’re delicious! DineLA dinner consists of 4 courses — Starter, Salad, Entrée, Dessert for $ 30!!! But wait there’s more, they even throw in a complimentary glass of house wine! Your choice of red or white. By the end of the dinner, I was COMPLETELYSTUFFED!!! I’m talking full on ‘walking out of the restaurant with a food baby about to unbutton my jeans’ type stuffed. The courses were spaced out evenly so we didn’t feel rushed to finish each course but we also didn’t have to wait very long in between courses either. No particular course was a disappointment and honestly, $ 30 is unbeatable. I was lucky enough to dine with 2 other friends and most of the courses had three options. We each chose an option so we could end up being able to try them all! Starter: Choose 1 Deviled Eggs: I absolutely LOVE deviled eggs! I was a little bit skeptical and put off to try these because I’m not a fan of horseradish but I could barely taste it. It was only a subtle hint of the horseradish but nothing overpowering to the palette. This starter comes with two egg whites stuffed to the brim with creamy goodness and topped with a tiny slice of crispy bacon. Crisp Fried Cauliflower: A handful of cauliflower drenched in tarragon aioli sauce. So delicious! This was a favorite within our party. The aioli sauce was so creamy and the cauliflower had a slight crunch! Potato Skins: Comes with three slices of skins topped with crab, bits of bacon, asparagus and hollandaise sauce. The outer skin was crispy with a creamy smooth inside and melted hollandaise sauce. Delicious! Salad: Choose 1 Kale Caesar: Kale tossed in Caesar dressing with bacon bits, grilled brioche and to top it off, a fried egg slapped on top of the entire dish. The fried egg was cooked to perfection with yolk running down the salad. Each bite was so tasty. I pretty much gobbled up the entire dish. Order the Kale Caesar! Even my friend who doesn’t like Kale said it was good. I think it had a lot to do with the bacon bits though. HA. Bacon makes everything better. Beet Salad: roasted beets tossed in with baby arugula, and hazelnut vinaigrette. This salad tastes light and very fresh! Butter Lettuce Salad: I love butter lettuce but the salad was too oily. The dressing is tarragon vinaigrette but it just tasted like oil. Topped with pears, walnuts and blue cheese. Entrée: Choose 1 Bavette Steak: The steak is a French style cut similar to a flank steak with a side of pommes frittes and chimichurri sauce. The steak was tender and easy to cut into. The chimichurri sauce was an excellent pairing for the steak which added a tangy garlic vinegar flavorful taste. My only complaint was that the fries were pretty salty. Crispy thin fries but too salty. Maybe the staff should think about using a lighter hand when seasoning the fries. Cast Iron Cassoulet — A DineLA exclusive!!!: A casserole style entrée served with a huge piece of crispy fatty pork belly, slices of turkey leg confit, two merguez sausage links all mixed in with white beans. The cassoulet came in a cast iron pot and it was such a rich slow cooked to perfection dish! The smell emanating from the dish was heavenly and the flavors were fused so well together! 5 stars for this dish. Dessert: Brioche Bread Pudding: A perfect sized piece of bread pudding drizzled in caramel and chocolate sauce topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I wasn’t all that into this one because the bread pudding tasted very dry. I mostly found myself nibbling on the ice cream. Pear and Cardamom Cobbler: OOOOHHHHHYESSSSS. The cobbler was on point! The pear was sweet and juicy, the walnut crumble was crunchy and the vanilla ice cream was the perfect finish to this dessert. Get the cobbler and forgo the bread pudding. Overall, $ 30 for a 4 course dinner is unbeatable!

Casual Dog-friendly, outdoor patio, sports-on-tv gastropub! (DineLA review) 4 courses including a choice of a dineLA exclusive entrée and a glass of wine for $ 30! Its a mess of tasty food — I wanted to be rolled home after. wine — red 1st course: I opted for the crispy cauliflower. Slightly cripsy, but had way too much taragon caper-taragon aoili on it. Tasty, but a bit much. Should have gotten the deviled egg but there was already so much meat that I wanted more veggie. Maybe they’ll accommodate less aioli if you ask. 2nd course: I got the kale caesar salad. The grilled brioche was croûton sized. the fried egg was on point. loved the bits of crunchy bacon. salad was top notch. 3rd course: Had to go for the dineLA exclusive — the cassoulet with duck confit, pork belly, and merenguez sausage. It came in a little pot/cauldron. The smell was enticing. The beans were tender but not at the mushy point. The duck confit was all mixed into cassoulet and tender. The pork belly was a nice rectangularish size — crispy on the outside, and fatty or meaty on the inside depending on the bit. Very hearty and tasty and super filling. The sausage got booted onto another plate as I’ve never been a fan of lamb/goat. 4th course: Bread pudding with ice cream and caramel sauce. Part of it was crunchy, took a while to get to the mush pudding-like part. Overall — it was a lot of good food for a steal! = = = = = = = (regular review) Good place to watch sports and have some drinks and snacks! Wings — love the wings here. They aren’t the tiny wings you norally see — they are full sized. There’s also a HH price-portion. Deviled Eggs — 2 eggs in an order. yes only 2, but they are filled mile up with deviled-egg goodness. Yum. Mini alternative burger — tasty, but slider sized(HH) Fries — nothing special French dip — Huge portion. actually came out as 2 french dip sandwiches(both on brioche toast). Oh man it was so tasty. Lobster roll — Its not on the menu anymore? this was really good. Drinks — They make a good moscow mule served in proper copper cups. = = = = Overall, great place to eat and drink. Casual, no lines.
