Love this place! The food is creative — I cannot believe that Brussel sprouts could taste so good. Loved the décor –we sat in the courtyard under lighted trees…

We loved the ambiance of this restaurant! The staff was very nice and helpful and the food was amazing. The Brussels sprouts were to die for… seriously the best. I wish vegetables always tastes that good.

Surprisingly I actually really enjoyed Ysabel. After reading some negative reviews, I still decided to try this spot for my birthday dinner. There were a lot of things that I liked about this restaurant, and only one con. First off, I really enjoyed the vibes of this restaurant, and LOVED how trendy, upscale, and romantic it was, and perfect for a dinner date. The décor was really pretty and the weather at night was beautiful to be sitting outside. The outside seating is very pretty and intimate, which was another plus. The food was great, we ordered brussel sprouts(which came with kimchee, but it was brussel sprout leaves grilled), 8oz steak, and ocean trout, and for dessert we had a chocolate cake with ganache(delicious). This was all or two people by the way. I was extremely full by the end of my meal, and sadly could not finish the chocolate cake(since I am a chocolate fanatic). For drinks, I went with my old time favorite«moscow mule.» The service of this restaurant was also amazing. The servers were very quick to come up to our table, friendly, and knowledgable about the entire menu when asked questions. The only con or negative comment I have about this place, is that some of the smaller tables are really close to each other which makes it awkward to speak loud. However, I will definitely be back; I loved their food, and absolutely loved the ambiance and environment.

Pleasantly surprised by Sat and Sunday Brunch at this beautiful location. I have nothing bad to say except for they were understaffed however, they made good on that with out saying a word and comped one of our entrees. Our serve Stephanie was perfect as well. Make sure to get the ham and cheese crossiant skillet and order a side of their yummy potatoes. All their pastries are amazing not too sweet and not dry at all. We will be back and this was our second time going.

I wanted to love Ysabel. So after coming here twice for dinner, here is the good, the bad and the ugly… The good — wait staff and bartenders are fantabulous. Very polite and knowledgable about the menu. Shout out to the girl who looks like Sloan from entourage as she was very kind. Food is cool. Shared plates and the like. The best was the steak tartare, Brussels sprouts and rib eye. The bad AND the ugly– OMG if I could just base my review on the hostess stand I would literally give negative stars. Second time I came, I called twice to confirm a birthday and that I wanted a nice table. They sat us by the bathroom. I politely asked if we could move to a table in the patio by the pretty lights. They had a crazy attitude and said how packed they were and how many reservations they had. It was very much an attitude of «you know we are so popular so just deal with it» which normally I can somewhat stomach but not on a special occasion. Whomever manages this place should give these people etiquette lessons as I found the attitude extremely rude and literally for this reason alone won’t go back. As far as the bar scene– overall, the vibe is just okay. The bar is crowded. I wouldn’t say its particularly anything. It’s not particularly hipster nor bougie or anything in specific. Its a mix of older and younger people with a dj and albeit a small but pretty space. If you are looking for a pretty outdoor venue — for a similar price range(think a bill per person) id 100 times over recommend the Little Door over this place.

Had a great dinner here! Food was all excellent, the pork belly, endive salad, short rib farfalle were all delicious. The grilled squid was out of this world. I had the vodka cocktail with balsamic and strawberry and loved it! one of the dishes came out cold and with no questions asked our server took it away and replaced it! The service here was amazing. Our bus boy Hector especially stood out. We loved that he Introduced himself to us and told us he was here to help with anything we needed.

I love this place a lot. Nice atmosphere, good food, delicious drinks. But some of the hosts are just too much of an attitude. I don’t know if they think they’re some kind of celebrities or what. I’ve been here many times, but I rarely saw cocktail waitresses, waitresses or hosts smile here. In fact, when I asked a question from our waitress, she rolled her eyes at me. The guys who stand outside and the valet guys are nice and friendly. Other than staff everything else is great, you can have some of the best cocktails here.

Beautiful ambiance, beautiful people, beautiful dishes, service was A+, and the fire place by the back bar was the perfect addition to our birthday shenanigans. The Brussels sprouts were cooked to perfection, the pan seared branzino was to die for; melts in your mouth but with a perfect crisp and paired nicely with the black rice. Had a few other appetizers but the sprouts and the fish were my fave. I can’t wait to come back!

You so fancy, Ysabel. As Laurel Hardware’s sister, you had a lot of expectations to live up to. And your cocktails made it. The food was mostly on point. The ambiance during dinner was… nothing short of WeHo glam. 3.5 stars for the overall experience. I dined with a large group in a private area on the patio(which got rather toasty), so I had the opportunity to taste over a dozen dishes. I wish the pappardelle with Italian truffles had richer flavor. The Branzino with black rice and the butternut squash tortellini were standout favorites. I would absolutely order the Branzino again. And the bread pudding was fabulous — I typically do not like bread pudding, but this one… wow. Service was pleasant. Going to the bathroom was a catwalk experience. Dress to impress if you’re on the market.

A definite A++++ for the ambiance and truly heart warming décor. I absolutely adored every inch of the space they have created! I felt as if I was in this whimsical scene from a fairytale. A trendy fairytale. Also an A+ for the drink I had, I really suck at remembering cocktail names, but I do remember one thing. Tequila! Oh and spicy! Make sure to try it if spicy-tequila based drinks are your cup of tea. The food was divine as well, tuna crudo & the tomahawk steak were to DIEFOR!(Except the fact that my steak was cooked improperly the first time they brought it out, they did fix it though) the tomahawk is HUGE, and could probably feed 4 – 5 people to say the least lol. Here comes the part that didn’t surprise me whatsoever, the service. I get it, it’s LA, it’s a «newish» trendy hot spot & for some reason it’s a huge TREND these days to have waitresses with obvious confidence issues + major attitudes for LA «newish» hot spots. Seems as if that’s what they get hired for. Maybe in a few months. the attitudes will disappear… Just maybe.(fingers crossed)

Was here last night for dinner, we had reservations for 8 and needed to add another last minute. When we arrived they sat us right away and it wasn’t an issue to add a 9th chair. The service was excellent and so was the food. The atmosphere is young hip and definitely cool spot to go for dinner drinks or just appetizers. Can’t wait to go back again. It’s really hidden. Also it’s Indoor outdoor. Awesome !

Sunday brunch experience was just so great! Maybe because of the long weekend the place was pretty empty at 11 am until when we left at 1. Service was friendly and efficient, cocktails were yummy, but the pancakes were AMAZING!

This review is solely based on the ambiance and cocktails. I will definitely be back for dinner some time soon. My girlfriend and I stopped by Ysabel on Friday night to kill some time before a dinner party. Entry was a breeze, however, we had to seat ourselves along one of the 2 bars because tables were completely booked. *I definitely recommend reserving a table in advance if you want to dine or have a guaranteed seat. The place was packed but lucky for us there was room at the bar for us to sit. There was also another seating area near the fireplace and DJ, but it wasn’t as happening as the bar area. We arrived around 9pm, there were a lot of 20 something year olds and a few older men. It’s definitely a pre-party spot and a place where ppl hang out at after a long day at the office. The music was nice, loungy and nothing like a club. The outdoor area is really cool too and there’s a private dining area for large parties that seats about 14. Great for a birthday dinner, there’s heat lamps as well. I ordered the usual, vodka with st. Germaine, a splash of soda and a lime. The bartender moved quickly and my drink was very strong, but tasty. When heading out I noticed most of the cars in valet cost 6 figures. I’m not one to gawk, I have a Beamer. but seriously they were on another level. Needless to say the crowd is upscale. Bring your A-game and enjoy.

Where to begin… afterall there is a fair amount to discuss. Upon first entering I thought to myself what an amazing vibe. Warm, inviting and chic all wrapped into one… little did I know that it stopped there. You are not to pass go and you will not be collecting anything of worth from this establishment. After arriving and waiting a good five minutes the hostess decided to address us by saying she would be with us shortly… another five passed and no hostess(mind you, we had reservations). Luckily the bartender was nice and enough to ask whether we had been helped or not and promptly informed us that the hostess would be with us shortly. He was also gracious enough to show me where the restrooms were located, which coincidentally is where I found the hostess… taking selfies… classy! Once we were finally seated I would’ve loved to have said that our server would’ve redeemed herself, but that didn’t happen. She was lazy, rude, abrupt, careless and pushy all at the same time. I would say that’s talent, but that would be lie. Onto the small food portions: Lobster Risotto: waterlogged and fairly flavorless Wild Mushroom Rigatoni: Bland Flat Iron Steak: The accompanying potatoes made the dish, the sour steak did not. The octopus: Probably one of the better options, but still no shabang The branzino: waterlogged and unless you included the seared crusted top with every bite, there was nothing that drew you to the dish. All in all the food lacked depth, it lacked the key flavors and layering one would expect from such a distinct menu. It was a disappointment! I’m not sure that the atmospher or the outdoor seating would be enough to have me come back for even a simple cocktail.

I really was impressed with Ysabel. It’s a beautiful establishment. A lot of the seating is outside so just take note because I am writing this in November and it’s a tad chilly. Food: Okay so I actually enjoyed a lot of the items me and my party chose tonight. The menu is split up like this: Appetizers: the beets and cauliflower were yum. The raisin vinaigrette on the cauliflower was on point. The endive salad was refreshing(feta, pomegranate seeds). The dishes are def meant to share. Pasta: we tried both the tortellini and the mushroom rigatoni. While I liked the tortellini, I thought the mushroom rigatoni was lacking and I could not point what that was exactly. Main Dish: braised ribs(you can never go wrong with these). They did not disappoint. Dessert: the cobbler or chocolate cake… you pick. All in all, it was a nice evening and I plan on returning.

Where’s the entrance? Is what I asked the valet. Don’t laugh it’s a legit question. In case you are wondering it’s in the back of the valet area and you won’t find a sign for Ysabel. She’s a bit of a exclusive hidden place. I would have never found out about this place if it were for a buddy of mine that booked us a table. Great for people watching and a great atmosphere is what I was told. For the most part this is true, but bring some bank because you won’t find any scrubs here. Unless you count me since I don’t drive a 6 figure car. I’m not balling but I stay fly. I’m in the hustle like everyone else only my playground is South OC not Hollywood. It is funny how most reviews don’t mention the food or experience. Just remember what I said earlier people watching and atmosphere. This has a nice outdoor seating area and fire places give a nice lounge feel. The music blasting makes it difficult to hear people speaking so get up close and personal but just node your head and think damn that person is fine and you will be good. I swear that this place has a lot of actors and actress material. Also a lot of plastic but that’s expected not much youth here because it takes money to be here so you won’t a lot of the younger crowd. I’m not quite ready for the high life but I had fun none the less. I can’t completely recommend this place because of the ROI on your money investment. Sorry I always think like an economist but if you want to experience Hollywood the way the reality TV shows portray it come here.

Great location and gorgeous atmosphere. Brussels sprouts and beets were amazing. The vibe and energy of the place is hip and chic. With the olive trees wrapped in lights, the great tropical/electro lounge music, and some very good looking human beings there– you really can’t do wrong. Came here for girls night, and we had a blast. Be sure to make reservations for bigger parties far far in advance!

I absolutely LOVE the vibe at Ysabel!!! It reminds me of Fig & Olive but a little more trendy. There is a small outdoor patio with fire pits, a small bar area indoors, an indoor dinning area, and an outdoor dinning area that is just gorgeous :) The Team at Ysabel has made great use of every inch of space, so expect to sit very closely to other patrons. We had dinner in the outdoor dinning area and it was great. There is loud chatter everywhere and I think there is music playing in the background… I really don’t remember. Their signature COCKTAILS are amazing and stiff. I fell in love with the KALI cocktail. The only thing that I was not too fond of at Ysablel was the menu. The selection is more along the lines of fine dinning and If you are just looking for a decent salad, this isn’t the place. We ordered a couple of things, nothing to rave about. I had the lobster risotto as my main course and didn’t care for it too much! Though the roasted cauliflower was on FLEEK! :) Overall customer service was great, everyone was accommodating and pleasant. I will definitely be back again and again but probably for appetizers and drinks ONLY! Valet parking is available out front and there is a strict dress code!!!

An extra shout out to our server Jasmine for being so accommodating on such a busy Friday night. I came here with a large party for a birthday and apparently there is a minimum of $ 80+ per person if you have a party that is 10 or more. The minimum wasn’t a problem at all as long as it was being communicated to my party. When a friend of mine made the reservation, she states that nobody on the phone had told her about this minimum. I wanted to make sure that my party is comfortable with the minimum and not put anyone in a tight money bind. So when we arrived at the restaurant we were told about this minimum, and complained to the manager about the situation. Nobody had told my friend on the phone when making the reservations. The manager claims to say that all of her employees know this and it would have been discussed on the phone. So now, it is really frustrating when a manager is blaming that a customer is wrong… NOTETOMANAGER– you work in customer service. Never blame your customer/patron that they are wrong. You can divert the situation and apologize but never blame your customer. I was quite appalled that the manager even tried to do this. Granted, it is a he said she said type of situation, but nonetheless the manager didn’t even try to make the situation any simpler. ***From preventing this situations from happening, I would advise the management at Ysabel to create some type of automatic email system to let the patron know about their weekend policy. At least it’s out there in their inbox…*** Anyways, after all of the shenanigans, we decided to stay and my friend(whose a regular) decided to just cover people who felt obligated for spending that money. All in all, Jasmine, our server, definitely tried to still be attentive to our group and was very sweet about the whole situation. Now for the food: Artisanal bread– a nice bread basket filled with different baked goods. The focaccia was my favorite. Hand cut fries– of course, I love fries, but this was quite disappointing. Tasted like IN N Out fries, which isn’t terrible, but I expected more. Pan Seared Branzino– I think I can eat this every time I come. The branzino was cooked perfectly. Crunchy and crispy on the outer edges of the fish, with a flaky middle. It was lightly salted and was the perfect dish on a hot evening. Overall, the food here wasn’t’ bad at all. If I were to just rate this place on food, I would give it a 3.5−4 stars. The way the manager handle things truly left a bad taste in my mouth and truly makes me disappointed.

This place is beautiful! But of course ruined by the people working here. We came here on a Tuesday and it wasn’t busy at all. The ambience seriously blows me away! They have the tinkle lights through out the place that really make this place stellar to look at. They have a outdoor seating and two bars on either ends. Okay on to the bad stuff… So where are the servers or anyone? No one came to ask us if we wanted menus or anything. Okay fine we ordered at the bar. We asked the bartender what some of them their drinks taste like and had no knowledge of the drinks. When we went to pay we tried paying separately but the Asian bartender just grabbed my card and ran off? Even my friend was telling her to wait we are splitting it. Of course some how she didn’t see the other card or hear my friend. Yeah we all know you were just lazy to make two transactions. The drinks were pretty good but nothing special for the price you’re paying. Also… Why isn’t there any toilet seat covers in any of the stalls? It kinda sucks to hover of the toilet seat every time I use the restroom. And to have to look at someone else pee before use it. Just maybe I’ll come back. But I can’t imagine how horrid this place is on the weekends.
