This review is for food only, as we ordered delivery: Loved the Angus burger! Seriously one of the best burgers I’ve had in a really long time! Also loved the sautéed spinach. I’m not a fries person, but my friend loved the french fries because they seemed like fresh and real potatoes. The pork dish was a different story. While the flavor of the sauce was great, the quality of pork used was very poor. Lots of tough parts and most of it was not edible. I ended up throwing it away. Bummer.

FISHTACOS are outstanding!!! I came for the fish tacos, stayed for the fish tacos and will come back for the fish tacos. Loved a fellow Unilocaler tip… cut the huge piece of perfectly fried fish in half and use the two corn tortillas underneath to make two separate tacos. My mouth is watering just thinking about. $ 2.75 a piece(during dinner time) for a generously sized piece of happiness, you can’t go wrong! (side note: I was not a fan of the hand-cut fries, they were overcooked and bland. definitely not ordering again .wish I got more tacos instead!)

Unilocal has steered me in the right direction again!!! Food, Service & Price worthy of 5 stars! I got the Turkey burger special with fries & a drink for $ 9.99. Turkey burger is straight up gourmet, fries literally cut from potatoes to order, very happy & will back for their amazing fish tacos everyone was ordering!

Fish tacos, bomb. Turkey burger, legit. Bread pudding with ice cream and peanut butter sauce, life changing. I am a better person for eating here. I will eat here again, soon.

Food Fair is an unexpected gem in the neighborhood. I stumbled into it for the first time by accident and was floored by the food. Their only flaw is their branding, which horribly underserves the caliber of their dishes. I was happy to see that they’d gotten rid of their old logo(which looked a bit like a pile of food – I had always thought it was a food composting place when I drove by), but unfortunately their new one, bland and lacking in personality, doesn’t serve them well either. It’s not that I care that strongly about the aesthetics of the place, but I want them to succeed, and LA foodies aren’t going to think twice about trying this place based on branding alone. Their food is prepared masterfully with fresh ingredients and bright flavors and the presentation is clearly done by a pro. When I lived in the neighborhood this was our go to spot, we loved everything on the menu. I just wish they’d hire a branding consultant and give the place a little facelift. I think they’d be unstoppable if their brand matched the quality of food they served. I would give them a 5 star for food, but the ambience is so sterile and uninspiring that it just knocks it down a star for me.

Ordered delivery… No food for an hour and a half. Called to check in, guy said there is nothing he could do, that’s just how it goes, it’ll be another 20 mins then hung up. It was the owner Diego. Stay away if you’re hungry now. Not worth taking the chance. If you call they have no issues with treating you like s*** on the phone.

The service for delivery is terrible. Extremely long wait time with eat 24. When we called(after waiting nearly 2 hours) the person on the other line was barely even apologetic and told us the food was almost done. It hadn’t even left the restaurant! It’s too bad because I really like the food here. The least they could have done was notify us of the long wait. I guess customer service in this world is dead.

Fish tacos were really good. Big pieces. Batter is super thin, light and crisp. Doesn’t come with your usual onion/tomato salsa but a kinda thousand island dressing slaw — loved it! Garlic spinach was good. Fries were decent. Mac and cheese was aiight. No frills, small joint, in a strip mall.

A great combination of quality, flavor, and price. I work in the area and have periodically come in for the burger on their lunch menu, always good. but the other day I tried something new: Their *carnitas burrito* is OFFTHEHOOK/CHAIN/WHATEVER. Have it. Eat it. Try it. They also have some local art on the walls, so kudos for that.

I’m very happy to write a good review for Food Fair. This is my favorite restaurant, I pick up food from here about once a week. Not only is everything I’ve ever had on the menu great but everyone there is super friendly and accommodating. Happy to support this great family restaurant!

I’m very sad to have to write this. I had dinner here a few nights ago with some friends and it was amazing! The service was awesome and the food was amazing! I have some dietary restrictions and both the server and chef had no problem accommodating! However, I went in today for lunch and had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant(and in LA that says something!). Upon walking in, it took a few minutes for someone to acknowledge me and when I was finally greeted it was with a «…Yes…» so I asked if I could have lunch and she told me «Sure [insert shrug here]. Sit where ever.» Once seated, it still took a while for some one to get a drink order or remember I just walked in, in the first place. By the time she came to the table and said«what do you want to drink» in the most Eyeore voice a human could have, I was ready to order as well. However, given the *noise* she made at my «may I order my lunch too, please? I’m on my lunch break» I could tell I was seriously inconveniencing her. When I placed my order and told her about my dietary restrictions she was rude and told me it was impossible for them to do what I asked. Seriously?! It’s not hard to subtract cheese and swap the spinach for arugula. She gave me about three excuses and finally told me it would be about $ 8 more. WHAT?! HOW!!! She finally went to «check» if this was possible. She never came back. She also didn’t bother to get Me the water I asked for upon her rude arrival. I had to get up and ask for it again. By the time the food came I had about 9 minutes to eat and run. I asked for some lemon and soon realized that was a mistake. *The food was wrong. *The salmon was under cooked. *She NEVER came back to check on me. *And forget getting a refill on the water that’s been sitting empty for 20 minutes! *Lemon? What lemon? The super sad part? I’m a former server. I can understand 95% of what ever a server is going thru. I’m usually empathetic. But THIS?! The way I was treated was uncalled for and knowing how a restaurant works, there is no reason I should have had any of these issues.

Pretty good fried fish tacos for less than $ 7. I was working nearby and decided to give them a shot. I asked if I could order them grilled and the woman said yes as she passed my order to the cook. So… I took them fried. Definitely a good limited menu and a clean little joint. Will come back to explore more soon.

When you walk in the smell and expectation of good food will overtake any notion you have of just ordering one thing… You will want to try it all. Just a few tables, the chef and a waitress. This is not fast food but good food. We have tried their lunch specials— a very good value… Crispy fish sandwich– light, fresh, crunchy without being oily. A $ 6 fish taco plate with 3 tacos and a small side salad. Dinner menu is a bit more elaborate. We really enjoyed one of their specials braised short ribs– so tender that when you look at it the meat falls off the bone and their ceviche was excellent. Can’t wait to try more… Unilocalers are right, make sure to get their fish tacos – they are out of this world.

The Grilled Goat Cheese Sandwich… What can I even say? How do I articulate how truly delicious this was? It was fucking ridiculously good — that is all I can say. Eat it. There is this, onion jam situation going on with this sandwich too, I don’t even really eat onions, I even asked for no onions and Diego himself was like, No girl — trust me…(obvz not like that, but you get it) so I trusted him and yeah — he was right. The prices are slightly high — but if you are like me, you’re willing to pay for good food. The Fries were delish too! Everything tasted fresh and it tasted clean, ya know? Kind of that home cooked vibe going on — which I absolutely love because eating out never compares to healthier home cooked meals. I will be going back here again.

Wow. Everything here tastes amazing. The sweet yams were hand cut breakfast potato style. They tasted amazing, sweet and a great side. The fish tacos were also delicious and juicy. The hand cut fries are thin cut fries that you can’t get enough of. The chicken burger was also delicious and juicy with a side salad. The service here is amazing. It feels like you’re in someone’s home with their own private kitchen. Great experience. This is one of those paws that become your regular spots in no time.

Wow! You can’t tell from the appearance of this place how good the food is. Tried the salmon salad, which consisted of a *full-size salmon filet, cooked medium, with fresh spinach, onions, potatoes, and a poached egg on top. Beautifully presented. Loved it! Also tried a fish taco. I think it was one of my favorite fish tacos. A really nice sauce, cabbage, and freshly fried(oxymoronic?) fish in two thin corn tortillas. Heaven. For my main course, I had the BBQ Pork sandwich. I was between this dish and all the other delicious pork options and the ceviche, but decided on this one. Large amounts of tender meat, and large amounts of cole-slaw, but not the bad kind. Highly recommend. Prices not too bad at all. Even better, they have free parking because they’re in a plaza. If you’re going late, just give them a call before you go because they may close a little early if the business is a bit slow.
