These guys(or at least the bouncer) were total jerks to us. We asked how much their rates were, and took about 5 minutes to discuss.(It was $ 30 for the room per hour + $ 35 minimum for drinks) And, when we decided to get a room(again only 5 mins later), they told us «no, you took too long» and«do you not know what refusal of service is?» — what the hell? So rude. Save your money. Go somewhere else.

We tried to get a room for 6 people and they kept«calling» in to the inside and asking for the price for a room for 6 people. The price of the room kept changing until finally they came back and told us 30 $ for the room and 35 $ for drinks for everyone. When we said we weren’t sure we waited for a few minutes for our other friends to ask them. About 10 minutes later we decided it was a good price and we would go in. Little did we know that the bouncer had enough of our deciding. He got super aggressive at us and started swearing and pushing us out. Needless to say we never found our way inside. Which is a shame because it looked pretty cool. It should be noted that I’m not one to leave a bad review without experiencing everything, but this was too much…

Gaam Karaōke had pretty good reviews when I looked up karaōke places in Koreatown, so I made my friends come here with me to sing. You can try to find street parking nearby or they have valet in the lot. The venue itself seems to have a decent amount of rooms and the staff seemed nice. One guy came in a few times to take our orders and bring us our drinks, but we had very minimal interaction. We were here for a few hours in a medium or large room; add whatever that cost was to our pitcher of yogurt soju and our total came out to be around $ 150 for the evening. I haven’t gone to karaōke for a while but that seemed a bit pricey to me. And the worst part was that they didn’t have the new songs that we wanted! We came in mid-April and had been looking forward to belting out songs from Taylor Swift’s 1989. Alas, none of those songs were here! So we had to settle on older songs… While we still managed to have fun here, I doubt any of us will come back since they do not regularly update their song catalog. We’d rather go to places that do.

Came 10pm for a quick, spontaneous hour of korean karaōke. The service was great! Friendly and we went over by 5 minutes but they were really chill about it. The man even gave us water bottles for service! Didn’t drink but it was early so I don’t know how the bar is but for those who arn’t familiar with korean karaōke, read this. Everyone gets private rooms. It’s not like american karaōke where you perform in front of all these people. After telling the security guard that you’re just there to sing, you can go in without showing him an ID. If you want to drink, have an ID — its a given. You go in, pick any songs you want from american, korean, and even chinese, vietnamese, indonesian, japanese songs etc. Have fun with all your friends and enjoy singing songs you want to sing and hearing others sing, all within your own group of friends :)

Probably the rudest host or manager I’ve ever come across. Was looking for a karaōke bar. He stopped me at the door as if I was intruding. All he told me was that it’s all private rooms. Not how to go about booking, not explaining how it works. Nothing. Absolute douche.

Came here for a friend’s birthday back in July. She was able to reserve a whole room and about 18 people huddled in to sing, drink, and be merry. I even got to sing«No Scrubs»! Either way the service seemed ok and once you have several cheap vodka running thru your veins good service or food goes right out the window. I managed to remain sober, but the bar menu seemed elaborate and from what I could tell from the group that didn’t do bottle service that the bartender in the front makes some mean drinks. Parking is tricky in this area and I suggest valeting the car to spare yourself the hassle. I was getting hungry and wanted to order from the menu, but this place didn’t have anything that looked the bit appetizing. I opted for phở down the street with the boyf. Either way good times and they have many rooms for private parties. Seems like they know what to do. Also the venue had a good menu of songs to choose from to sing and multiple mics for duets.

Always a good time! Clean rooms! Great service! Here’s why I love Gaam: They always lend me a phone charger which is pretty important because by the time I make it to karaōke my phone has very low battery and I cannot survive 2 seconds without my phone. I think they expect me every weekend now to come in, cause a ruckus and ask to charge my phone. Typical. So yes, all it takes for me to give a 5 star review is to be nice :)

Of all the ktown karaōke spots I’ve been to, this one is my favorite. I first came here back in 2008(?) and still go to this day! My friends and I have shared many-a-nights singing our hearts out. They serve hard alcohol, not just soju, so it’s a clear winner over some of the other joints. We went last week for my birthday and basically only had to pay for the bottle service, the hours and anju were all comped. Not a bad deal if you ask me. A bottle of gray goose or macallan 12 will run you $ 150 each. We had about 10 people with us so we reserved one of the larger rooms. Super spacious, clean, and well ventilated. TV Screens on both sides of the room and a great selection of songs. They have valet service in the lot which is always a plus in LA.

Came here to karaōke for my friends birthday. I had a blast, but that’s bc I had a great time with my friends lol As far as pricing goes, we had around an 8 person room, and it was 45 on a sat night. We had to order 2 sojus, or beers of some sort. That was all no issue to me I can’t really mentioned much about location bc everything in ktown is congested and has no parking. But compared to other cities where parking is much easier, I would give this place a thumbs down unless something about this karaōke place stands out making me want to go through the annoying congested roads. I went in, and was not impressed. Everywhere smells like smoke. The rooms clearly have a no smoking sign, yet, smoke smoke everywhere. When trying to choose songs through the remotw, we constantly needed assistance bc the entire remote was in korean. And as for songs, we tried to look for the original videos, but I wasn’t able to find any from the duration we were there. Oh yea, the cushion couch in room 7 also is broken and can dip down hahhaha.

Came here with a friend on a Friday night and was told that there would be a minimum charge on us of either two soju bottles or one soju and three beers. Yo, you guys trying to get us drunk? I think they put that minimum on us because we were a party of two. We told them that we’ll go somewhere else after they informed us about the minimum charge(which is ridiculous) only to find out that they laughed at us as we were leaving. RUDE.

Tried calling to reserve a room for a group to try this place out because of the good reviews but apparently they don’t take reservations past 9:30pm anymore. Was informed curtly that this was the new policy and there was no other solution offered.

Put together two of my favorite things in the world: LA’s Koreatown &KARAOKE– and what do you get? Gaam Karaōke!!! This is my go-to spot anytime friends want to go karaōke. Why? Because it’s cheap($ 7-$ 20 depending on group size/how long you sing), close to my favorite Korean hof(Dan Sung Sa) and other restaurants, and has enough space to accommodate large parties looking to drink, sing, and have a good time. On any given weekend, it is hella hard to find an available room, since they close around 3:00 and people tend to stay and sing til they get themselves kicked out. Best tip is to make a reservation in advance, and also ask for the price! You’re going to find prices fluctuate based on how large your group is/whether you can speak Korean/whether you KNOW someone that works here. They can hook you up, no doubt! The rooms here come equipped with two mics, tambourines, and if you’re lucky, enough space for you to dance(either on the floor or on the tables). There are drinks and Korean pub food available for purchase, most ranging from $ 12+. You don’t have to pretend to have swag like Psy or the voice of Seungri to enjoy karaoking in K-town. Don’t know who these two are? No worries! There’s English songs here too for everyone and their Mamas to enjoy! Songs are inputted based on a number system, and you’re given a huge book of songs to select from. There are hundreds of English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese songs to your liking. In terms of recent songs, Gaam usually adds them a few months after they’re out(so give a 3 – 4 month wait for new-new songs). Pick a song, use that remote control, and start singing! Yes, the remote is in Korean, but it isn’t take rocket science to figure out what buttons do what(you can do iiitttt). Take note that a lot of the rooms here can be smokey, so try to request for a room that is away from smokers. Okay… you’ve read this long enough. Now that I no longer live in LA, I can’t enjoy this beauty any longer. Go hard and SING on my behalf.

After a trip to LA, Korean BBQ on a Saturday night, what else can you do? While we were already in K-Town(Korea town) we decided to just go to a Korean Karaōke place and this was recommended to us. $ 2 Valet in a super small jam packed parking lot that fits about 20 cars is definitely better than scouring blocks after blocks hoping to creep up on someone who is leaving and to swoop in. We paid the $ 2 and saved us the hassle. This is probably one of a few Karaōke places I’ve been to that sells alcohol so definitely a plus for it. I’m not big on the singing and not a great singer so I haven’t been to many Karaōke places to say it’s the ONLY one, but if there are others that sells you alcohol while you indulge in your friends belligerent singing, then go for it! Came here with an original group of 13, soon got to be about 15. The room we got fitted about 20ish. a little too big for us, so we were all sorta in our only little spots and hard to talk to each other. Drinks were hard to reach since we were so far spaced and had 2 giant tables in the middle between half of us. Not really sure the price of this place since my girlfriend and I left early cause we had a long drive to our hotel and an early morning adventure driving further south too. The music selection was a bit old and didn’t have much new stuff. With the way technology is and how other Karaōke’s i’ve been to, I was expecting a complete computerized system where music was updated. However, we got 4 giant dictionary sized booklets to search for our songs which was extremely tough since there was a 1000 pages(ok maybe not, but about couple hundred pages worth of music). The remote control was hard to use and the overall sound quality was bad. I mean why does it have to static and cut in and out on every song? Mics were going on and off, maybe low batteries? On a different note, how about putting in real MV’s? Like why do we see the same character for every song? Is it really that hard to put in real Music Video’s? Your system can’t be that old can it? Karaōke is always fun, and I guess if people are drunk and belligerent, they wouldn’t notice these little mishaps? Unfortunately, I was not drunk and I did notice these things, and for that, I cannot rate this place high at all. Pretty sad actually since these places are pretty hard to rate bad. Tips: 1) Know all your songs and be ready to search 2) Be drunk! 3) Sing your hearts out!

After a night of drinking in K-Town, hitting up a karaōke bar is a MUST(and continue drinking!) This spot is in the same plaza as Dan Sung Sa(perfect to go after eating/drinking there.) Valet: $ 2 – 3(I forget) or street parking Came here with a huge group so we got the big room. They have plenty of books, tambourines, and 2 mics. You can order drinks in there and I came here before with my cousin and friends. I remember they bought a bottle and if you don’t finish it, you can save it and have it the next time you come back! I’m sure they save it for a certain amount of time though. Good selection of music(old and new stuff, Korean, American music, etc) The remote control to enter songs, however, is all in Korean so… go with me! Just kidding~ but it would be helpful to go with someone who speaks/read Korean. Otherwise, you might just be wasting your time/money trying to figure it out! Always a fun time when I come here! Sing your heart out! and make sure you have a full day to recover from a night like this the next day :)

Not a bad place to walk to after your 1st stop in ktwn. Full bar & a little pricier than other karaōke bars, but not bad. Later in the night, they are too full to take parties so go before midnight if you can and continue the party in here!

The rooms are great… Awesome sound system, lots of fun lights, and great service! We had our room for 3.5 hours and a bottle of whiskey and the price was only $ 20 per person between the 17 of us! I would definitely go back!

We end up coming here quite a bit since we like to grab something to eat at Dangsungsa, which is next door. Yesterday was at least the fifth or sixth time we’ve been here, and for the most part, it’s a decent choice when it comes to karaōke. The song choices are adequate(it really helps if you know how to work the remote… I don’t think the menu has all the songs listed, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have it if you look it up), it’s clean enough, and the servers are quick once you ring the bell. The room we had last night had cordless microphones, so I liked that a lot. Sound system was adequate, and the price was competitive with other NRBs(NoRaeBang, which means singing room). One thing I noticed last night was there were A LOT of scantily clad women going in and out of different rooms, and I don’t think they were groups of girlfriends out for a GNO, if you know what I mean. I saw at least 30 different women(groups of 3 – 4 at a time) go into the room across from us, which had one guy sitting in there. Literally they would walk in and walk right back out, depending on what the guy’s response was. They were all dressed verrrry skimpy and had heels that weren’t meant for walking. Anyways, overall a decent NRB that aim to please(obviously). Make sure you check the bill because they’ve been wrong on our bill couple of times. The valet is 2 bucks, and weekends after 9pm can get really crowded. There is also a small bar at the entrance where you can just get a drink, which I’ve never really noticed at other NRB’s. Have fun, and try to tip a little to the servers when leaving!

My first karaōke experience on US soil. Ever. Just because I’m Filipino does not mean I live and breathe karaōke. -.- We got lost looking for this place. Apparently there is a Gaam club down the street. Anyway, we called at around 11:30 and had a room reserved. Good thing coz it was the last one available. Servers were nice and they leave you right away so you can start the festivities. You only have to give them a buzz if you need something. It was fun watching everyone get buzzed and sing their hearts out. To be young and have no worries. I was the designated driver so I could only drink a glass or two but I am not a drinker anyway so I was fine with that. About 2 hours of singing and I don’t know how many soju and beer bottles later, with my ears ringing from all the singing, my companions stumbled out and off I went to drive them home, $ 210 poorer but with fun memories to remember. Priceless. Oh and its better if you have a Korean with you. Makes a lot of things easier. Valet parking is $ 6.

I. Love. Going. To. Noraebang. This place is usually my second choice for a karaōke spot. It has everything Palm Tree has, except the facility is not as nice. Although for some reason this place gets packed all the time. One thing I really like about this place — it’s open until 3. Come on, when are you ever done singing at 2?!
