My hubby and I stumbled upon this spot and I can’t say that I was impressed. I give the 1 star for the iced coffee which was good. I don’t even remember what I ordered but it had tomatoes which I just figured I would pick out since I don’t like them and hate to order things and request substitutions. After we ordered we sat down and waited for out food. After 25 minutes we were still waiting. Now I know some people exaggerate and say much longer than it really was but I kid you not, it was 25 mins and I know because I texted a friend when we got there so I saw the time stamp. So my husband went and asked and they said it would be another couple minutes… seriously?! When we did get our food it was all tomatoes, I tried eating around them but I couldn’t. See the pic for yourself. Needless to say I won’t be coming back

BITTERSWEAT this place i will have to say is one of the places i will miss, about L.A. First time i went it it was great just trying to catch a bite before heading back to work in B.H. and i was amazed. the Food was full of flavor and i didn’t put it down until i was done with it(well to wipe my face in-between bites) i had no desire to return to work after, i was thinking of sitting in some shade with one of their fresh drinks. Yet i did return to work only to make more money and come back haha yum. this is a establishment i hope to visit whenever I’m in the area. keep it up honey made team.

Amazing, delicious and quality ingredients for average folks and foodies alike! Excellent spot for breakfast and lunch with reasonable prices for delicious food with real quality ingredients! The waffles for breakfast or dessert are especially tasty and if you add the Straus Creamery ice cream – even better! Straus Family Creamery is well-known for their ice cream in the San Francisco Bay Area — the food mecca! I added the Banana Brown Sugar ice cream to the homemade waffle with whip cream, fresh strawberries and toasted pecans. It was such a dreamy dessert! The turkey pretzel sandwich is such a warm, comfort food and they use local, fresh baked pretzel rolls from Elysee’s Bakery just a few blocks away. The secret ingredient is the roasted red bell pepper spread combined with the smoked gouda cheese and avocado. This warm panini type sandwich will keep you coming back for more! Can’t wait to try their breakfast waffles with an espresso, latte and their lunch salads too! Full coffee bar also! Lastly, they have homemade limeade and a variety of ice teas that are simply refreshing including a coconut ice tea that smelled amazing.

Ony way to school, right on the corner of Westwood and le conte, is where this spot it. I walk past it every day. My usual spot was not open yet, so I came here. Walked in at 11:00 am for an early lunch. Was impressed with the variety of salads. Titles like«roast beef & greens», and«Palermo niçoise» along with lists of hearty ingredients in each give me the picture that this ain’t a «chopped iceberg and shaved carrots with a squishy tomato» kind of salad place. They have lots of other stuff on the menu. Waffles, waffle sandwiches, breakfasty stuff, and regular sandwiches as well. I like the chalkboard menu. Ended up ordering the roast beef and greens salad. Had the option of hot or cold roast beef, so I opted to take it hot off the grill on top of the cool greens. It came out fast, in less than 10 minutes, and was fairly simply in construction. Came in a Togo container. Greens were crisp and fresh, arugula, baby spinach and flecks of red lettuce abound. A few red onions, some asparagus, and I spied a dried cranberry or two in there, along with some fresh cut green beans. The warm beef was well seasoned and flavorful, and I was glad I selected the grilled option for the beef. The dressing was less a balsamic vinaigrette than just a bunch of olive oil with some imitation balsamic dribbled in it. But that seems par for the course anywhere you go these days. It came with two big bread semi-soft croutons, which were better for dipping in the dressing than using the dressing on the salad. I enjoyed this salad, though a little more asparagus to up the«crunchy vegetable» factor would have been nice. Overall I’d say I enjoyed my salad, for $ 9 it was pretty good, not super cheap, but not crazy expensive. I’d consider it fair for the quality. I will return to try their other salad offerings I’d give it 3.5 stars, and round up.

I give this place a solid 3.5 stars. They have good waffle sandwiches that are unique and delicious. It may be a bit pricey especially for nearby UCLA college students, but it’s a nice change from the usual Westwood restaurants. The food feels fresher and healthier compared to other nearby food choices. The people who work here are also extremely nice. Honeymade was definitely a nice addition to the Westwood neighborhood.

I tried their salad with greens, kale, chicken, mango, & or oranges. The portions are very generous! I got a large takout box which was satisying and left me happy. But the food was simply okay. Not enough to leave me wanting to return. Lettuce wasnt as fresh as I had hoped… kind of almost browned. The chicken was cooked very well – fresh and yummy! The mango and oranges weren’t even chopped or mixed in… just a chunk of each on the top of salad. Good value for the price but food was just okay!

4.5 Stars. I really like this place! It has great, flavorful sandwiches, other lunch items and desserts, which is just what Westwood needed. You can build your own sandwich or choose from the regular or waffle sandwiches on their menu. They also have homemade lemonade and teas :) This place is open pretty late, surprisingly and awesomely! The only negative thing I can say about this place is that they’ve been out of a few ingredients the past few times I’ve been in :(

3.5 Came here for lunch one day since it’s really close to where I work. I’ve never had a savory waffle before but thought I’d give the tangerine chicken waffle a try. I was pretty skeptical, but it actually exceeded expectations. It was almost like a citrus chicken salad on top of a thin waffle and was flavorful and tangy. I would’ve preferred some mandarin orange slices tossed in there but oh well. My friend got a roast beef sandwich which she was pleased with. Overall a pretty decent lunch spot.

Pros: really friendly servers, unique sandwiches, REALLY great minestrone soup, free flavored water Cons: not ideal for a larger group considering there is not a ton of table space and the tables they do have are small, also a little pricey for a café

Honeymade is alright… The food is pretty good, and they have a lot of choices to choose from. They also serve sweet and savory waffles. I was a bit disappointed after ordering a waffle sandwich after seeing that it’s not actually a sandwich. It’s just a waffle slice with salad on top. Worse part is that the waffle doesn’t stay crisp as the moisture from the salad makes the waffle all mushy. Nothing’s special about the waffle either — quite the mundane batter. Their food is also pretty expensive for what you get. A health-conscious café that uses pretty elaborate ingredients(more so than your average café), but you’re paying a pretty penny for it. Good stuff. I’ll be back.

The sandwich tastes actually pretty good, depending on the one you choose. Roast beef is probably the best so far. Salad is of big portion too. The spinach with goat cheese is my favorite for now. The only complain is the tuna salad is all canned food! will not order it again!

Westwood had many new additions ever since I last visited and Honeymade is one of the many. My friend and I stopped in for lunch at around 2pm and the shop was fairly empty. There was another pair dining in and a couple of people working in there using the free wifi. My friend and I decided to get one savory and one sweet waffle to share. They were very accommodating and let us ordered off the breakfast menu even though it was 2 in the afternoon. Things were off to a great start. When our first waffle arrived at our table, my friend and I was ready to devour that baby. We got the lemon butter with strawberry. The lemon butter was absolutely delicious. They don’t give you a lot of strawberries, so that was a bummer. I saw them taking out 2 strawberries from the container… Then our lox and Benedict breakfast waffle came. It looked scrumptious too. With how delicious the lemon butter was, we were excited to try the lox one. However everything went downhills from here. Everything looked great at first glance. The waffle came with two eggs, plenty of lox, red onions, capers, and hollandaise sauce. But the eggs weren’t poached. My friend and I suspected that it was cooked on a pan or something. My heart froze when I cut into the egg with solid yolk. The lox tasted funky and so did the hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise sauce was watery and not buttery at all. We were definitely disappointed. The waffle itself was only ok too. It’s not very fluffy. I rounded down to 3 stars because the lox waffle was such a let down. The establishment is chic, but the food fell short.

I attended a two-day seminar at UCLA Westwood for work and my manager had Honeymade cater our lunch on both days. Fantastic sandwiches and salads! I was most impressed by the variety of sandwiches. There was something for everyone. Since I don’t eat beef I didn’t have the roast beef sandwich, but people were saying it was good. I got to try the turkey, egg salad, caprese, and tuna melt sandwiches. Their salads were also very good. More than one person raved about their lemon dressing! My favorite sandwich was the turkey on pretzel bread. Loved the pretzel bread! The flavors just melded well together. I think it was the combination of the roast bell pepper spread, smoked gouda, and olive oil lemonaise. Everyone was satisfied and some even took the leftover sandwiches home at the end of the day!

I think Honeymade is a such a cute, quaint little café in Westwood, and considering its one of the newest restaurants that have opened up in the area, I think I’ll be frequenting it often. They have so many combos of waffle sandwiches, breaky items, sweet waffles, regular sandwiches, and salads, so I can see myself coming here more in the future to try some new things. So far I’ve tried the chicken and mango salad, which was just ok, but nothing amazing. I’ve also tried the brie, apricot jam waffle with pecans and almonds, which was a sweet, sophisticated treat. I also got the coconut iced tea, which was GOOD! Plus free refills. Yayhoooo. The salad and waffle were not spectacular, and my friend said the diy sandwich wasn’t amazing and that Bruxie had better waffle sandwiches, but I will gladly come here again to give the other menu items a chance.

After trying Bruxie’s last week, I was excited to see that somewhere closer to UCLA serve waffle sandwiches! However, it isn’t a sandwich where the waffle is stuffed; instead, it’s a waffle piled with stuff on top of it. I’m more of a fan of the Bruxie-styled waffle, but I guess it all ends up in the same place anyways! Westwood Pastrami Waffle Sandwich: They suggested to try the tangerine chicken or the tuna waffle sandwich, but since all I cook at home is chicken, I decided to give the pastrami waffle sandwich a shot. The pastrami itself was dry and not very flavorful, and a lot of the entrée was mostly red cabbage and greens. The whole thing was drowned in sauce that made the waffle pretty soggy and overpowered the taste of the pastrami and waffle. Overall, I think it would have been better if there was a bit less sauce so that the waffle would be crispier. I’ll probably be back to try to breakfast items or perhaps the waffle sandwiches that they recommended! Even though the pastrami waffle sandwich deserves a 3 star, I’ll give this place a 4-star for its potential for now. **Free wifi(and calm jazz music) for those UCLA students seeking a new study spot! :)

This place is adorable and seems to be pretty new? I’m not sure, I’m not from the UCLA area, but I was here for the weekend. I walked in and the place apparently ended breakfast at 11am. Sad face, but there were two or three people behind the register attempting to satisfy my order with other suggestions available items they could make. I decided that I didn’t want to be too full and just ordered a Iced Chai Tea Latte. The man behind the counter was pleasantly surprised that my order was so easy. After getting my drink ready, the barista was ready to hand my coffee to me over the counter, but then noticed I was more to the side of the storefront, so he walked around the counter to give it to me. No bad, $ 3.55 for a 16oz Iced Chai Tea Latte — It kept me chugging along all day and was quite flavorful! *Note: I’m a NorCal girl, I haven’t been to many places in LA, so my expectations may be different from yours!

Writing this review while sitting in the café after eating. Food coma… So good… WARNING: expect a complete, food-induced coma even before your last bite. ‘Cause it’s that good. Honeymade just opened in August, so I decided to check it out while I was in the area. I ordered the Kimchi-tuna waffle sandwich as my entrée and the French brie-apricot marmalade waffle for dessert. The staff was courteous and the food arrived promptly. The Kimchi-tuna was delicious; the waffle was crispy, even from the sagging weight of the carrot-tuna and kimchi items. Just a heads up: a waffle sandwich at HM is not two waffles sandwiching the filling. Rather, it is open-faced. Regardless, I enjoyed it: I can’t tolerate super spicy food, so the mildly spicy kimchi was just right. The tuna was good as well. My only complaint would be that there was too much Romaine lettuce on it, but then again, you can’t have enough greens! My French brie and apricot marmalade waffle was tasty, too. By then, I was getting full, but I pushed through and got it anyway. It did not disappoint. The apricot marmalade was slathered generously over an extra crispy waffle(it took some effort to cut through!) — gooey and sticky sweet. I also had generously slices of the brie, which was tangy and made me feel classy. The toasted almonds on top added a nice texture as well. I would recommend this place. Plus, I head that the Turkey Pretzel is a hit with customers. I will definitely be back!

Working in Westwood, I get sick of ordering from the same restaurant day after day for lunch. My coworker & I decided to order from here for lunch today & I’m actually pretty happy. I ordered the Ciabatta Caprese w/roast beef. Additional meat is $ 1.50 extra. Charging for additional meat isn’t a problem, but they literally included 1 piece of meat. After reading a review about this problem, I even CALLED them to make sure that this wouldn’t be happening. I mean, if I’m paying an additional $ 1.50, I’d like more than a piece of meat. But, of course, I was wrong. MYSANDWICHHAD A SLICEOFDAMNMEAT. Majority of the time, all I tasted was CHEESE. I’m not saying that the sandwich wasn’t good because I definitely liked it. But, you either have to decide not to get any meat or make sure you check your sandwich after you get it. They also forgot to label the sandwiches for a to-go order, which was kind of inconvenient. I also got a Nutella, Banana & Strawberry Waffle. I mean, how can you go wrong with this combo, right? I don’t know if it’s just me, but I like my waffle a little crunchy. This was just a little too soggy & soft for my liking. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here for their waffles. I’ll possibly come back here for lunch while I’m at work, but I wouldn’t say I’d drive over to Westwood just for Honeymade. I think it has a lot of potential to be a good store, but I think they have a lot to work on.

As I was driving down LeConte I was surprised to see that Honeymade had opened. I decided to check it out for Sunday brunch. The space has a café feel that is bright and inviting with limited inside and outside seating. Honeymade appears to be well staffed with a few employees standing idly behind the counter and one guy working as the smoothie master. The employee at the cash register was polite but lacked knowledge about the menu. The menu offers some variety with salads, sandwiches, waffles, smoothies and ice cream. There are also assorted pastries in the case at the counter. I tried the tangerine chicken waffle($ 8.95) with sesame soy chicken breast, mandarin orange ginger sauce, cilantro, onions, chili roasted peanuts sitting on top of a freshly baked waffle. It came with a side of sesame cucumber mango slaw and a cabbage salad. The waffle was thin and light with hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. The chicken was well seasoned with fresh herbs and greens. Surprisingly, it went perfectly with the waffle. I enjoyed the waffle sandwich but the smoothie was better. Without any difficulty, they agreed to make me a mango and peach smoothie($ 3.95) despite the fact that the combination wasn’t on their menu. It was sweet and smooth and creamy. My original plan had been to get the meal to go as we were headed elsewhere for other breakfast treats. But, when we saw it, we couldn’t stop eating! Alas, in a few minutes, the waffle was gone. It was an absolutely delicious brunch. I’ll definitely be back.
