Beers are good. Atmosphere is nice. Do not go Wednesday unless you like trivia night. I do not. Kills the vibe of a bar.

I’ve had every beer on their menu and none of them disappoint. The bartenders are all super down to earth and beyond friendly. Try the Extra Special Bitter and the Blindstiff Stout.

Excellent quality brews. The least/most polished of the three(Angel and Arts included) in terms of build out. Pseudo cozy Bavarian benches line a well lit seating area with a stunning view of the other side of the street. I love that there isn’t a television to be found. Come for the brew, stay for the conversation.

Massive industrial warehouse interior with some modern touches. The theme seems to be speakeasy /prohibition with mirrored back bar, long wooden bar for seating, and bartenders in suspenders and sharp attire. The beer selection is limited to their house brews, of which they had about 10 or so to choose from. I sampled four of these in a tasting flight, which was served in tapered flutes and organized in a wooden paddle that carries the flutes from right below the top instead of you having to carry a very top heavy, prone-to-disaster sampler tray per usual. A nice, thoughtful touch. I sampled their stout, cream ale, «dark ale,» and the«wheat & rye.» The«wheat & rye» took me by surprise as I expected a reddish, murky, chewy, dark beer. Instead it was clear straw(unusual for wheat/rye in the mash) with flavors of white grape, white sugar, corn flakes, and a lager like crispness. Not at all what I expected, but probably better than the roggenbier I was expecting. The«dark ale» had mild coffee, tootsie roll with a palate that was a bit is dusty/chalky like mild cocoa mix. A more watery body than I’d like. Still, no obvious flaws. Their Iron Triangle Ale, assuming their signature beer, seemed closest to cream ale in flavor with clear adjunct flavors of creamed corn/DMS. But the body felt heavy and boozy like malt liquor with sweet juice box and sweet cherry. I was a little surprised. Last, their stout. Served on nitro, a very sweet coffee aroma was able to pull through that thick layer of nitrogen gas driven mousse. The flavor, though, was very weak and bland with hints of lemon. I think overall, the venue is nice, but didn’t have much of a wow factor to set it apart from other craft brewery tasting rooms. The beer quality sits easily in the 3-star range being solidly average with no poor beers and no exceptionally good beers either. I think that if you wanted 3-star level beer, there are other tasting rooms nearby that offer more activities. With that said, if you are looking for a more chill scene, this may be the place for you.

One of my favorite places to grab a pint or four and chill. The place is beautiful, the people are friendly and knowledgable, and(maybe most importantly!) the beers are delicious. No food but they bring in food trucks and lots of places nearby deliver fast. Definitely don’t miss the monthly cheese pairing night, or $ 5 pints on Beer Gear Mondays.

As I entered for the first time, I was struck by how beautiful and interesting everything looked… from the seating areas, to the huge brewery itself, this place is a sight to behold. I ordered a pint of stout and my wife had a flight. All of the beers my wife choose did not include any IPAs though I talked here into including the double ipa(and it was good). The beer was excellent though the atmosphere was too chill. Needed some music or some sort of high drama(jk, but music would have been cool) and to be honest, the barkeep told us that they were having issues with the sound system. All in all, I would visit iron triangle again and again and again!

This brewery is absolutely stunning. It has a really upscale vibe, without the pretension. The bartenders all wear vests and ties which also makes this place feel at lot fancier than it is. There are little flower arrangements on all the tables which just adds a little more class. The actual bar is sooo beautiful and made of a dark chocolate wood. All the moulding and mirrors make it look so luxurious and grand. There are lots of picnic benches through out the brewery in the same dark wood finish which gives the place a really cohesive look. The brewery has a really nice ambiance and is dimly lit with candles on each table. There are different areas that can accommodate large and small groups alike. I really like the lower area that feels like a patio. It has a gate that opens up to a fenced in room so you get a nice breeze and can see the outside. I tried an IPA here(I don’t remember it having a name) but it was okayyyyy. Not the best IPA, and wasn’t as hoppy as I prefer. They play instrumental hip hop so the atmosphere is really laid back and chill. Overall, this place is cute for small intimate groups or a date night. I came on a Friday night and it was pretty empty and quite, which was nice for my husband and I. You can also order food from Comfort LA and Pizzanista if you get hungry — they deliver! Classy establishment with a very upscale vibe. Shmancy-fancy pants brewery for y’all sophisticated folks.

This one is an up and coming brewery located in the Arts District of Downtown LA. It’s kinda hard to find because their not a sign posted yet. You kinda just have to know where it is. Iron Triangle is nice and clean inside. Big seating area. A great place to meet friends and just chill. A great selection of beer. From Light Ales to Barleywine. And everything in between. They don’t serve food, but they allow food in this fine establishment. When you’re in the area, order a pizza and enjoy a cold brew.

Finding Iron Triangle isn’t hard — just look for the one lit building on the block. The venue is great, a combination of both old-timey and modern, airy space. The bartenders are super friendly and patient. The beers are mostly ales, and I found them delicious, especially the pale ale jasmine special on tap. I’d recommend you add Iron Triangle to your DTLA craft brewery list. Just give the sketchy area it’s in a chance and pay attention to your surroundings! Credit card accepted.

After driving through skid row and some sketchy factory streets, I arrived at Iron Triangle. Thanks for the shady route, Waze! Anyway, I almost drove right by it. With all of the industrial spaces next door, and given the inconspicuous store front, you don’t even really notice it. Walked in to a large empty room with the tanks in the back and bar/patio style bench tables to the right. It gets a little chilly in there, FYI. There were two bartenders minding the taps. She informed me of the two specials, jasmine ale and tangerine ale, neither of which was on the menu. Without even asking, she gave me some tasters. I’m into mostly lighter ales, blondes, reds, and belgian whites — this place doesn’t really brew many of my favorites. From the menu, I was intrigued by the basic ale, the red IPA, and the hard cider. But after tasting the two specials, I kinda wanted more. The menu didn’t mention flights so I inquired — bartender told me $ 8 for 4 taster glasses. I wound up getting the ale, red IPA, jasmine, and tangerine — no cider. Ale — light, crisp and somewhat refreshing Red IPA — don’t be fooled. Normally when I see«IPA» I run away with fury. It’s got nice body and is very low on the bitterness scale. Very enjoyable. Would order a full glass, no question. Tangerine — very, very light. Didn’t really taste that fruity, as I expected. Quite refreshing. Easy to down. Jasmine — floral, with a slightly bitter finish. Light and easy to drink. Overall, cool, clean, modern, not too loud, and a good place to gather and enjoy tasty brews. None of the beer knocked my socks off, but I enjoyed them all. Only negative was I asked to close out after I ordered and the bartender didn’t hear me so I had to wait for her to tend to two others before I was able to close out. She was very apologetic though. That and her knowledge about the beers made up for it. :)

I finally made it to this brewery on a Friday evening. I rolled up in my über to what looked like a dead street and a building with no sign to the front. As soon as you walk in, you’re taken back in time. The brewery has a speak-easy, early 1900s vibe, even the bartenders look like the part. I also love the open layout with the brewing barrels that greet you as soon as you walk in. The bar is long and there are plenty of seats throughout and the place is massive(definitely a great space for events). I was impressed with the beers as well. They were nice and fresh to start(and that’s always a good start). I got the 4– 4oz tasters for $ 8.00 and I tried some of my groups as well. I got the pale ale, 2 IPAs and one more that I forgot(sorry), and I also tried my friend’s cider and the coffee stout. The cider was so delicious! It was just sweet enough, and had a champagne taste. The coffee stout was smooth and the coffee taste was subtle. Definitely a good sipping beer. The ales and IPAs were delicious as well. I do not remember which IPA was hoppier, but I liked the other better. There was one bartender that went around making conversation and was super friendly, there was another that was not. So service was good! No complaints. It wasn’t very crowded and the place cleared out by the time we left. I went out at 8 on a Friday, so we were kind of between the happy hour crowd and the night life crowd. I didn’t mind it though, because even though it is such a massive space, it felt very intimate. I’ll definitely go back, especially when they get food!

What a beautiful spot to enjoy a beer! My friends and I had tried to go to their grand opening party a couple of weeks(months?) ago but the line was snaked around the block so we didn’t even try it. I had read that Iron Triangle is the biggest brewery to open in the Arts District so I was expecting a massive tasting room — but I was mistaken — while the brewery itself might be huge, the tasting room part is smaller. Bigger than Mumford and smaller than ADBC. But oh it’s GORGEOUS. The bf and I came here one a sunny afternoon, we were the only customers for a while until a beer tour rolled up. The space is gorgeous — sunlight streaming through the huge front windows, gleaming wooden picnic tables and bartop, ‘20s music playing and super friendly bartenders! We tried a flight($ 8 for 4 tasters) and then got a glass of the red IPA — yum! They have free wifi, bathrooms are clean and it’s just a really pretty place to enjoy some beer. Another great addition to the beer scene!

Update because one bad apple shouldn’t spoil it for everyone else. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – It’s too bad that the bartender with the dreads is a dread. Sarcastic and rude. The ale was good, but not enough to go back to service people with an attitude.

Love this brewery! Love this place! Their IPA is one of the best I’ve had! The atmosphere is really nice and the old timey feel of the bar is very inviting! My friends and I visited Iron Triangle this weekend and loved it. The beers were great! We even bought a can of the IPA to bring home(which they poured and sealed for us right at the bar)! The venue is beautiful and has a great vibe. We’ll be coming back.

I was very excited to hear about a new brewery in the arts district. The brewery was easy to find and quite a nice space. Not your typical tasting room — seemed like a trendy restaurant more than a tap room. I went after work on a Thursday so had great service due to the lack of patrons. The beer was decent. I’m big on IPAs and Pale Ales and I wasn’t super impressed. For doing pretty traditional style beers your game has to be on point due to all the competition. Their selection fell short for me. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back since there is not much in this area.

Pros: Nice bar area, well dressed bar tenders and the triangle ale. Cons: Only 3 bar tenders on a Saturday night to serve a full bar is a big no no. We were able to order one flight of samplers and it was impossible to get a beer after that, so we were forced to leave. I was literally waiving the menu and my credit card at the bar tender for over 20 minutes!!! The place is in a really sketchy area of Downtown LA and there is only street parking. I wasn’t even there for an hour and came back to find my car window had been broken and my purse was stolen!!! Overall, this experience was horrible and I would not recommend this Brewery to anyone.

Just a week removed from their grand opening there is still lots of potential(which explains their grand plans to expand into the adjacent buildings for a restaurant and more space) but like what has been presented. The inside has a great feel to it, preserving the warehouse space while still adding the front windows which look to be original. The bar, and servers, are very prohibition-esque with the massive flower arrangements adding a touch of class. Tried the Iron Triangle Ale, 1581 Pale Ale and the Mulholland’s Stash Barleywine and enjoyed them all. We were there mid-afternoon on a Saturday and found seating no problem but chose to stand back by the tanks and talk. Service was friendly and quick with a good vibe from the strangers we talked with. Like most businesses in this area, parking is either right out front or down the street in a dodgy area. And no food but didn’t see that as an issue. I’ll be back and looking forward to seeing how they are going to grow their brewery!

Introducing LA’s newest craft brewery. This place is one of a kind — old prohibition era vibes, classy, friendly, and knowledgable staff, beautiful brew house, and most importantly, great beer. I can tell these guys are gonna go places and continue to make LA one of the best cities for craft beer. Definitely check this spot out if you find yourself the city. You won’t be disappointed.

Heard the grand opening was cray, so we decided to wait a few to come and check out the newest craft beer hotspot. The venue is huge — about 10,000 sqft. Plenty of parking on the street and the location is on Industrial in the Arts District. As you walk in, it almost seems you stepped back into the early 1900’s with the décor, the staff’s uniforms, the vibe. First thing you will notice is the beautiful oak bar that has this«speakeasy motif.» Look upwards at the super-high ceilings and notice the detail in the truss design. The wide open area combines the tasting room with the brewery and gives off such a spacious feel. You can see the brand new vats and fermenters. Plenty of seats around the bar, and plenty of seats on tables. Plans for future include food truck service, but feel free to BYOF(Bring Your Own Food) until further notice! Bartenders are very knowledgeable and know how to pour. I chose their Red IPA and was not disappointed. Also tasted a flight of other beers including their Iron Triangle IPA, Mulholland’s Stash Barleywine, and the Dark Ale. As of this review, they offer a take-home 32oz($ 10) can of your fave craft beer. 64oz growlers weren’t available at the time. If you appreciate craft beers, you need to try this place. Enjoy!

A cool new brewery in the arts district. I came for the big opening and it was BUSTLING! I couldn’t believe there was a line to get in. +Beer: I love me some craft beer. IPA nice, I found it a little more mild than usual but good Pale Ale a little bit bitter, not quite like a sour/bitter beer but it had a bite. Tangerine Beer(not sure the same) they ran out of this but I tried a bit of someone else’s. It had a really nice tangerine taste to it. +Décor/Ambiance: Really cool restored look and you can see all the big vats. It also has a slight mobster/old school feel which was really cool! –Parking: There’s a lot that’s not too far but a lot of the street parking seems to be a bit further and a little bit in the seedy area.

Went for the grand opening and had freaking blast!!! The atmosphere, music, food and beer where all great! The place has a prohibition era feel to it . I love vintage so the décor of the place was awesome! My favorite beer was in between the iron triangle ipa and land of fire red ipa. couldn’t choose in between those two loved them both. sipped on that the whole time i was there. however tried all their beers a few days before for their soft opening, all pretty solid. Food looked good, they had two food trucks but i didin’t try either. im sure later on theyll take on variety and more ! The more the merrier when it comes to food trucks for me !
For the music they had a band in the beginning then a dj started spinning both where good and im picky with the tunes … Cant wait to try future beers and see their upcomming projects.

I was at the Grand Opening and had a fantastic time! I also stopped by another day and was equally impressed. These guys know their beer. I love that the flights are priced well so you can try everything, and I think they keep great brews on tap and then rotate whatever else they’re working on. That’s a surefire way to keep me coming back for more. I love the IPA, their ale(try it with ginger), and the stout, which had coffee notes… I think they also have a coffee stout which everyone was raving about. Overall a really great prohibition-era style place with excellent beer. It’s a working brewery so the space isn’t huge, but it’s perfect to grab a drink or two and relax with some friends with a super friendly staff and excellent beer selection. The surrounding area is up and coming, so there’s plenty of parking. I definitely recommend this place.

There are some new brews in town! The newest addition to the DTLA brewing community made it through several delays due to permitting and whatnot, and it is finally opening officially this weekend. I stopped by yesterday during their soft-opening hours to check the place out before the crowds hit. I’m a fan! The space is modest in size and the seating is limited(for the moment), but I liked the high, open ceilings and the speakeasy style bar. I was told they plan to open the lower area near the bar(possibly an old loading dock?) as additional seating in the future. They had 6 beers on the menu, plus they had just tapped a new stout. I had the flight of 4 plus three extra tasters to try them all. I was not a fan of either of the IPA’s, but I enjoyed the Dark Ale and the Barleywine. That Barleywine is 10.8%, phew! So far, there are no food options but they don’t seem to mind BYOF. Street parking only, and it’s a bit dark and set apart so I’d advise being careful walking around there. I liked the beers they have so far, but I can see the space getting packed once they are fully open so I’m glad I got in early. I’m looking forward to seeing what other beer styles they come out with. The grand opening party is tomorrow, so check them out!

Five amazing beers on tap and not a dud among the bunch. A cool, small space, and bartenders able to talk about the beers on tap make this a fun place to grab some brews. I tried all five that were available: the cream ale(light, very drinkable, but satisfying), the dark ale(coffee end notes on a medium to light body), the IPA(so nice to find an IPA in CA that isn’t just a hop explosion but is actually enjoyable), as well as a pale ale(slightly bitter, very pleasant) and a barleywine I want to reduce and drizzle over ice cream. The interior is nice — its a working brewery and that takes up most of the space, but the bar up front is gorgeous wood and the brick wall adds a nice ambience. I can see this getting crowded but the bartender told me they are going to convert the front loading dock to more seating soon. Excited to check back soon and see what else they’re brewing!

This is a first impression kind of review, I may be update it at a later point as I’m sure this business will learn a few things over the next couple months. I attended an soft opening night on 1÷17÷2016. Btw, since the brewery isn’t officially open yet, I wouldn’t take seriously the two shitty reviews at the bottom(from March and April 2015). That’s 8 months ago. Surely there were mistakes made on owner’s side, but this is a pretty different thing now. There is an actual brewery, with a real staff(I’ve put them to the test), there’s beer, there’s a brewmaster(and a good one at that), and basically a whole team including someone who’s pretty good with the public and surely has learned from the past mistakes. Anyhow, on with the review. The location looks fantastic. It’s a restored Industrial Revolution building. All bricks, sliding steel doors. It’s the original roof, all sandblasted. The equipment looks state of the art, we had tours given by the staff. The serving area has this beautiful vintage bar. They said that they’re taking the space next door in June, and when that happens they will expand seating and allow dogs(I have a dog, so that matters). The only thing about the location is the rather shady area it’s in. Homeless people, rats, a dude peeing on the side of the wall, and a foul smell of ammonia further down the street where I was parked. I’m hoping the neighborhood will gentrify a little. I’m also a little worried about the parking option when the place is open and crowded. Staff was pretty good. I asked a number of nerdy questions about beer and they were pretty good. There’s still some fine tuning to do but overall this was very encouraging. Also very friendly. There is no food, which is the norm for breweries. There was no food truck when I was there, I’m sure there will be once it’s open. As for the beer, they had 5 options: a cream ale, an IPA(of course!), a dark ale that doesn’t fit one style, a pale ale, and an American barleywine. I was a big fan of the barleywine, it was very drinkable. In fact, all the beer was very drinkable, and well executed. All well attenuated — a nerdy word to mean pretty dry, with no sweetness getting in the way(it’s a good thing). The dark ale is pretty interesting, I’m not sure how to describe it. It’s like a pale ale(dry, a slight touch of bitterness) with an assertive torrified grain character. Strangely I liked it better when I was double fisting with the IPA. The IPA is definitely on the piney side, and is not overwhelmingly bitter. I hope they will have more options in the future, I was told they will. I would really like to see some red or rye thrown in the mix. I also hope to see more experimental brews, the dark ale is definitely a good start. When they open, some breweries are still figuring out their process and identity. You can tell from the beer. With Iron Triangle, I think they already have a plan. While not my favorite styles(except the barleywine), I could tell they have their process figured out just from the quality, and they definitely have a direction. I talked with the brewmaster and they’re totally into the Industrial Revolution thing, Iron Triangle is a reference to the 3 founders of the Los Angeles Aqueduct. I expect they’ll keep their primary focus on drinkable beers, those that you like to drink after a day at work and is very refreshing. That said, I believe they have a desire to move into barrel aged beer at some point. So to summarize a very, very good start. First impressions are capital(as we saw with the first two reviews), and as far as I’m concerned I was pleased. I will return to this place and recommend it.

Wow this place is great! Came to the soft opening tonight. The facility is amazing, so much high tech equipment. Shiny massive fermenters. Great clean beer. 7 on tap to start, but during the brewery tour it was pointed out more beers were fermenting. The owner is nice and accommodating willing to talk to everyone. Lots of industry here tonight lots of fun. Can’t wait for the grand opening.
