We went to the Sepulveda/Ensley location(next to Clementine’s) which Unilocal doesn’t even list.(Maybe that’s why we had the place to ourselves?) Outstanding! Had the Tuscan Salad which was divine-really fresh and so tasty. Main course was a special — chicken puttanesca which was also a delight. Definitively need to put this on your radar, not to mention your GPS!

We were here for lunch recently. Pizza was good but terrible service. It took us more than 40 minutes to get our drinks. Lunch too twenty more minutes. Waiters were too busy and didn’t have enough staff.

Medium mushroom and pepperoni pizza. They screwed up the delivery, the first time and sent the wrong pizza. After 40 minutes they sent the pizza I had ordered in the first place, it was pretty good, The crust wasn’t so great. I ordered wings, and they were God awful. ZERO Buffalo sauce, and the ranch dressing was really thick. The so-called buffalo wings really cost them in rating stars. Without the wings, the pizza would’ve got a 3 ½. Really cheesy! I won’t order«wings» from them again, Mulberry Street Pizzeria makes the best buffalo wings, and the biggest NY-style cheese pizza, you’ve ever seen for 20 bucks. Really good! And Cicerro’s, makes a pie that is just as good, and give you two pies for one!

I have eaten at Johnnie’s for over 15 years. After dinner the other night I accidently left my smart phone on the table inside the restaurant. I returned about 5 minutes later when I realized I had left my phone, and it was gone. It was a black phone placed on a black table, near the wall, so it would have been difficult for anyone to see it unless they were up close, waiting or clearing the table. We asked the servers and waiters, and OFCOURSE, they hadn’t seen it! They were the first ones to tell us they hadn’t seen it. Unfortunately, there are no cameras pointed towards the tables. The manager promised he would speak to the employees to double check if anyone had seen anything suspicious, and give them the option of returning the phone if it had been stolen. I even offered a reward. And tried calling the phone over and over, and texted, too. No one came forward. AND, I then remembered a friend had his phone stolen in the EXACTSAME situation here a few years ago(left it on the table when exiting, the waiters didn’t see anything suspicious when he told them it had disappeared). If you ask me, someone on the staff of Johnnie’s New York Pizza is making lots of money on the side by stealing patrons’ phones. I’ll never eat here again. It’s not worth it! If you like your phone, don’t eat here. You’ll never see it again!

Worst service ever! Took my order for delivery, charged my card and never showed with the food. Finally, their excuse comes… they got busy. No apology. Fine. I want my money back. NEVER order DELIVERY from them!

Terrible service and mediocre Italian food. Waiter never refilled drinks, never came back to check after he dropped off the food. We had to go and find him when it was time to pay. Restaurant was about half full, pizza was on par with dominoes. Skip this even though it’s next to the museums.

I come here a lot for lunch. It’s easy and fast if you just want a slice of pizza. They have a lunch special for 2 slices and a soda for $ 7. If you want once slice of pizza and soda it’s $ 4. Great deal. But you cannot dine in the restaurant. Love their garlic knots. When I feel like dining there, I definitely have to use up my whole one hour lunch break. They take long especially if you order the Minestrone soup. I timed it once and it took 20 mins for to get my soup. They said it’s because they make it from scratch. It is very good indeed. It’s $ 6.50 for the soup. Comes with bread and they also give you garlic knots as an appetizer. Service is somewhat slow and I constantly found myself trying to catch his attention. It does depend on the waiter too but on a lunch rush hour they are definitely short handed. My water glass as always empty and kept trying to get his attention. So typically once I get my food I ask for the check because that’ll take another 10 mins.

Ordered food delivery. Pizzas are really awesome and finger lickin’ good!) they are ultragenerous for cheese and toppings. Pasta is large portion too. Really great italian cuisine! If you’re reading this — don’t hesitate and pick this place to eat in there) delivery taken 45 minutes. Deliverer was smiling and friendly. Liked everything!

I used to love Johnnie’s, but got out of the habit of ordering from them. I tried again this evening. I’m out of the habit again. Delivery was late, the greasy, flat white pizza was ice cold, and the salad dressing was sharp and acrid. The highlight was of the two garlic knots they threw in, one was edible. The second one was burned. What a disappointment.

Delicious Italian food at a reasonable price. Their marina is delicious and made to perfect consistency. We had the lasagna and spinach and ricotta ravioli. Both were impressive and portions generous. The tiramisu was not made here but was also delicious with a bit kore chocolate than you normally have. Plated beautifully with strawberries and chocolate syrup.

Great pizza for delivery. Far better than a chain or ‘specialty’ spot that gives you rattlesnake or something weird. Always fast when we call in.

Same good pizza I used to get in Malibu many years ago. Friendly service too! If you haven’t tried it, must have their bbq chicken pizza, which is probably the best around…

I work right across the street from this restaurant and it was my very first time here. I ordered the Peperoni Pizza and Buffalo Wings. My order came with complimentary Garlic Bread and Marinara dipping sauce. I have to say the food was authentic and amazing, VERYITALIAN!!! Not only was the food delicious but their staff was VERYWELCOMING! The customer service was on another level, Sergio was weighting on my table and he was extremely nice and has amazing customer service skills. I would rate this restaurant 10STARS if I could! Thank you Sergio! I will definitely be coming back!

Oh my goodness, their vegetarian salad is delicious! Their salad portions are huge! I couldn’t finish it! I have dined in and ordered delivery, I think dining in is much better for a full course meal. Their pastas could be better for an Italian restaurant. They tasted very commercial, plain a bit flavorless. The salad and pizza was to die for! Calzone, delicious. I would definitely be back for salad and more but would skip the pasta here. They also have nice big family style booth too, set up like a diner with darker lighting.

The lunch specials are great, both the slices and sandwiches. I often come here in the early evening for a couple slices or a chopped salad. Each is very satisfying. The pizza is not as good as a Vito or Prime but being nearby me has its advantage. The Pasta dishes, chicken parm and other menu entrees I have tried are more than sufficient to fill the need, not a destination spot but for a neighborhood place, walking distance, no delivery charges, validated parking this place is great. If you are in Park La Brea, Miracle Mile etc. this place is one that needs to be on your list

Great place for lunch! My co-workers and I stumbled across this place when we were headed to the food trucks next to the Tar Pits and we are so glad we did! Got the side special for $ 12 that came with a personal Hawaiian pizza, huge side salad, and drink. The portions are very generous and you also get free garlic knots with marinara as an appetizer. Everything came out very quickly and we were in and out of the place within 45 minutes. The pizza was outstanding perfectly cooked with the perfect amount of toppings, cheese and sauce. I would definitely recommend anyone who is working in the miracle mile area stop there for lunch! They also had pizza by the slice for take out only that looked just as delicious!

Pizza is ok here. A bit greasy for my taste but the slices are good size. I usually grab the lunch special of 2 slices and a drink. They have pizzas ready made for take out by the slice. Usually pepperoni, cheese and a spinach and cheese are out under the heat lamps. It can get busy here on a weekday at lunch due to the nearby businesses. Parking is in the back and usually petty full too.

It’s no New York but it’s good for L.A. The sauce is quite good, zesty, hint of sweetness but not overly so. The cheese is real, melty and stringy. I wish they’d use more pepperoni but that’s really my only problem with Johnnies. Also they don’t heat up slices unless you ask them to, so be sure to ask them to. Slices are $ 3 which I think is reasonable for the area. If you’re in the area and feel like pizza, grab a slice!

Came here just to see what they have. Looks and feels like a bar/pizzeria. For a taste I got two slices and a drink for $ 7. Sausage one one, mushroom on the other. Ubiquitous California unsweetened iced tea as the beverage. It irks me that you aren’t allowed to sit outside when you get pizza by the slice. Apparently they want you in, out, and gone. Ok fine. I would have preferred to sit and enjoy the pie there, but their house, their rules. The pizza here is «meh». That kind of pizza where you eat it, and the next day don’t remember why you gained a pound. It’s got that seemingly expected«drippy greasy» factor that calls for paper-towel blotting, but it’s not pouring all over the place. The cheese and sausage just kindof melted together into a but of a salty mass in my tastebuds. The mushrooms stood out, but more for their chewy dry texture than anything else. The taste is also«meh». Maybe better than the Papa-domino-hut, but not by much. I’d say it’s a good place to get a pie if you’re in the area, but don’t see myself coming here as a specific lunch or dinner destination. A «meh» three stars, and that’s Being more generous than their seating policy…
