I’m so sad that this place closed. It was like white tapas.

Canada. Check. Sad to hear this place closed down. It was definitely one of my favorites. My fiancé and I went here to knock Canada of our list. The place offered an array of Atlantic Seafood options. We came here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon and the items were amazing. I remember ordering some outstanding pancake that filled me up for days. It was great and sad to this place go.

My sister and I treated our mom to a night out with an early dinner here. From the moment we stepped foot we were greeted warmly by the hostess. Our waiter and the other servers were also very friendly and attentive. Mom and sister ordered draft beers(local breweries) and I had the Thai Town Mule — I don’t usually love gin but this drink was delish(and strong!). Food(tapas style to be shared) Lobster roll — delish but didn’t stand out to me compared to other lobster rolls I’ve had(like at Connie & Ted’s) Steak tartare — yum, in fact we briefly considered ordering another order Scallops — 3 perfectly cooked scallops House smoked trout — one of my favorites of the night Duck confit — It was good, with lots of big chunks of duck Apple cider donuts — Warm, covered in cinnamon with a caramel dip and apple cider vinegar dip I definitely want to come back with the husband for a date night. Kiddo tip: We didn’t bring the kiddos. If possible, I would leave the kids at home and come for a date night. But if that’s not a possibility and you’re really dying for some good food, I did see some high chairs in the corner so they are ready for babies and kids. I’d say come early(we came around 5:15 and it was pretty empty). Service is great and everyone is so nice so they will happily accommodate you.

Happy Oyster Hour Review Only I still can’t wait to be back here for dinner. I absolutely loved the happy oyster hour here! $ 1.50 for oysters– and I am not talking about the cheap house oysters you get at EMC, but rather they were offering Grassy Bar oysters for a steal of a deal! Then we also paired it nicely with some pork rinds. Perfect for a late night spot. Thank you bartender for such a wonderful experience. I am already looking back to have dinner here real soon!

This place is what brunch is all about Maple Eggs: Yum! The presentation is so adorable with eggs & bacon in an egg shell. Apple Cider Donuts: Hello Fall! What a perfect dessert to start your day off. Smoked Pork Belly Benedict: This dish blew me away… the softness of the bread with the saltiness of the pork belly… this is a dish made by someone who knew what he was doing. Come hungry and with a camera… this place is casual & adorable.

We happened to be in the area and decided to check this place out. This restaurant is hiddened in a residental area, but next to a big street. The place is decorated very trendy and hip with a bar and tv. However, i find this place doesnt fit my liking. The staffs are friendly, but food is overly priced. The portions are way too little and are overly priced. I hv tasted a plethora of clam chowders and this place is like my worst. It tasted like its from can foods, not chef made clam chowder. The ribs were okay, but the fish was not fresh nor tasty. I dont think ill come back.

Date of service: Jan 21, 2015 Meal: Dinner, eat in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 4 Food to Spend Value: 4 Quality of Service: 5 Overall Rating: 4 DineLA provides the opportunity to be exposed to restaurants you may not have tried before. Littlefork was in the DineLA list, had pretty good Unilocal reviews, and I love the so called«New American tapas» type of restaurants, so it seemed like a good place to try. The restaurant proved not to be very busy on a Wednesday night, so though we had a reservation it ended up not being necessary. After looking over the special DineLA menu we decided it was not very interesting so instead decided to order a number of things off the regular menu. We decided on maple eggs, the lobster roll with brisket, delicata squash, Duck Poutine, and Chicken Cataplana. Before I deep dive into the various plates, let me get one thing out of the way. Just about every plate was extremely salty, almost to the point of not being enjoyable. I eat out a lot, and I was shocked at how salty the food was. Now on to the food itself. The maple eggs came with crispy bacon and were actually quite tasty. The combination of sweet and salty with the egg base actually worked quite well. Next on the docket was the lobster roll, and at the recommendation of the waiter we ordered the Montrealer version which included brisket. The waiter went on and on about how well known and award winning this version of the lobster roll was, so we were quite excited to try it. The result, however, was extremely anticlimatic. The lobster roll was average at best, and the brisket was not only skimpy but very poorly done, and it detracted from the overall taste. I am not sure what awards this roll is supposedly winning, but it sure didn’t taste award winning. The delicata squash was an interesting dish, being served with shimenji mushrooms, frisee, pepitas, and a crispy egg. The idea was sound, and if it hadn’t been so salty than I might have liked it better, but in general it just failed to impress. The duck poutine arrived next and was actually quite good. It was not too large a portion, but the cheddar mornay and gravy was quite tasty over the fries, and the duck itself was also good. The last thing to arrive was the chicken cataplana which I admittedly was the most excited about, but it also ended up being the most disappointing. The dish included clams and linguica and seemed to have a lot of potential, and it wasn’t bad per se, but it was so salty that it just was not enjoyable whatsoever. We decided to order dessert and went with the chocolate pound cake with gelato. This proved to be a mistake. For starters, littlefork obviously doesn’t understand what a pound cake is, as this was super dense and almost brownie like. The flavor also just wasn’t that good. At least the gelato was good and refreshing, but there wasn’t much of it. I went to littlefork with reasonable expectations of having a great meal, and I left extremely disappointed. When the clear cut winner at a restaurant like this is poutine, something is horribly wrong. The portions felt small even for a small plates place, and it also felt quite pricey. The service itself was good, though we ultimately didn’t agree with any of the waiter’s recommendations. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, as it is too expensive and just not very good. I certainly have no plans on returning.

Boston and Montréal inspired… Sounded very promising. So we randomly had a poutine craving and decided to give this place a try. First off, the space and atmosphere where pretty great, though a touch too dim for my taste. The service was spectacular and the pricing was fair. The food was just average. We had: Lobster roll — served in bun with a side house made slat and vinegar chips. This was pretty good Beets — salt cured with pistachio and goat cheese — very good Brisket — served with toast and 3 types of mustard. Tasty but average Montréal poutine — this was a disappointment. The fries were just off and nothing like a Montréal poutine sadly While the experience was decent, probably won’t be going back.

This is a great, solid restaurant located in a quiet side street in Hollywood. I came around 6pm on a weekday so there was plenty of street meter parking but watch the signs, since some of them are not okay to park after 8pm(whereas you would just think you pay until 8 and you’re okay) so I ended up getting a parking ticket. :(Reminded me the lesson to be extra weary of LA street meter parking. We originally chose this place for the normal dinner menu but ended up sitting at the bar for hh menu items as well since you can order anything from there. It was first come first serve seating and while the rest of the restaurant was fairly empty, the bar was packed so make sure you accommodate for that. Between two people, we got: short rib poutine half a dozen oysters maple egg burrata lobster roll I asked ahead of time whether the lobster roll was hot or cold since I only like warm lobster rolls but while the bread is toasted, the lobster is cold. I ordered it nonetheless since it was the most appealing dish on the menu(imo) but it ended up being the least impressive. It was too doughey and each bite tasted purely like mayo and more mayo. There wasn’t much lobster topped in it and the texture of the lobster wasn’t as chewy as I would have preferred. The maple egg dish(which comes in 3’s) wasn’t impressive either and while the short rib poutine was good, we did not finish it. It needed a more uniform spread of the cheese curds, mushrooms, meat, and red onion, since each bite did not contain more than 2 of these at once. It was a mission to get these all in one bite. The oysters were well, oysters and with the lemon and appropriate sauces, they were fresh enough to keep me happy. The burrata, lastly, was my favorite dish. It had the perfect complement of toppings and every bite was better than the last. It is hands down their strong suit and I would eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I could. Service is excellent and attentive and while sitting at the bar, you get a constant refill of water and get to check out the drinks being made. Pretty cool restaurant with a great interior design as well.

I was craving lobster something fierce, and this place popped up on my Unilocal lobster search with some very yummy looking lobster roll photos. I didn’t read many reviews so I didn’t think it was a seafood restaurant per se. After dining there I still didn’t know it was a seafood spot(probably still wouldn’t classify it as one). Valet is $ 10. We street parked a meter for $ 1 an hour and made it just fine. Were some of the first people through the door when they opened at 5pm, so it was fairly empty and our service was great. Fairly sure if we showed up later in the evening we wouldn’t have been appropriately dressed. My outfit bordered on maternity pajama and my husband was in grubby shorts, a tee and a baseball cap but I think since we were there so early it was overlooked. Everyone else was well dressed. Have to say, I rarely bat an eyelash about prices because I know I live in overpriced restaurant hell, but this lobster roll takes the cake in the overpriced department. It definitely was good and came with some nice potato chips, but for $ 26 it was still just a cold lobster sandwich with potato chips and some pickles. Also had the escargot($ 13) the short rib poutine($ 14) and the LF burger($ 16) which I thought were all good and priced about the same as anywhere else. The escargot was delicious and the burger was super juicy and had tons of flavor. Burger was so juicy that my husband needed two napkins to protect his grubby shorts from getting dropped all over. Fries that came with the burger were ok. The poutine was disappointing. Despite the waistline expanding that it brings, I love traditional poutine. I was psyched that they had a version with short rib that sounded so delicious on the menu — but what came out of the kitchen wasn’t at all what I expected. The actual short rib meat on the poutine was tough and lacked flavor, the cheese curds weren’t cheddar but instead a very mild(almost flavorless) cheese and there wasn’t anywhere near enough gravy. Our server was great and got us more gravy which helped immensely, but it still wasn’t up to par with the other food. The meat was such a let down :(Short rib has such potential for deliciousness when cooked and seasoned properly… and this was neither. Overall still 4 star

Tried the place with hubby and it was okay. The food was good but I was not fully impressed. Ambience was cute and romantic. We ordered half dozen oysters and it is really yummy. I don’t really like raw oysters but these ones were good. Really fresh. Their oysters came from different parts of the world. Highly recommend it if you like oysters. Maple eggs are really good! The bacon that’s in it was delicious. They serve it in a little egg shell as a presentation and looks so cute. Lol Baby Kale Salad was really good with the aged balsamic and strawberries. And their Short Rib Poutines, the meat just crumbles when you pick it with a fork. TOTALLY recommend trying it.

What an AMAZING meal! Three of us arrived for dineLA happy hour. HH was supposed to be at the bar only, but the restaurant realized how busy it was, and sat us down in the dining room. HH specials still applied, and the waiter was even kind enough to informed us of last call for HH. We started with a dozen oysters from Washington. They were sweet & briny, just the way I like them! The mignonette was very complementary. Our next item was the maple eggs. Each serving was in a plastic egg shaped cup filled with scrambled eggs, maple syrup, and topped with crispy bacon. The maple syrup was legit from Canada. You can just tell by tasting it that it was not one that you buy at a grocery store here in the states. Our next dishes were the duck poutine, and the Montrealer. The duck in the poutine was smoked with lots of flavor. The dish itself could’ve used some more gravy, but it was still good! One thing I appreciated was that it was not overly salty, as a lot of poutines I’ve tasted are. The pièce de résistance was the Montrealer, which was essentially a dressed lobster roll, with sliced brisket! Initially reading this, my friends weren’t inclined to try this dish. I just wanted to try it, just to say I’ve tried it, and that I’ve never seen brisket as an option on any lobster roll! Boy were we glad that we ordered this! The smokiness of the brisket complemented the creamy lobster really well. There was a generous portion of lobster meat, and it was cooked to perfection. The roll that was toasted and butter brought it all together. MMMMM! The dish also came with pickles and homemade salt & vinegar chips that I could not stop eating. We loved this dish so much that we ordered a SECOND Montrealer! Absolutely nothing disappointed us. I really wanted to try their desserts, but we were so stuffed from the second lobster roll that we HAD to pass. As we left this gem of a restaurant, I immediately wanted to dine there again to try more dishes. Also, their cocktails were great!

It’s a modern and sleek spot and street parking wasn’t too difficult although they have valet as well. I came here for dineLA happy hour with a girl friend and sat at the bar. I hate that there was no where to put my bag so I’m awkwardly wasting a stool to hold it. I ordered the mazana loco($ 7) and my friend had the bourbon($ 7). My drink had a pepper as garnish but it was surprisingly spicy. It was tasty but the pepper wasn’t my cup of tea. We both shared the garlic fries($ 6) and baby back ribs($ 13). I have to say that the fries was yummy topped with bits and pieces of garlic and garnish. On the other hand, I probably could’ve lived without the ribs. It was dry, but the BBQ sauce helped. The cornbread that came with it was crumbly. There’s many other happy hour spots I’d choose instead. I guess this place just didn’t live up to the expectations I had for it.

5−7pm HH everday! I had my oyster craving on Saturday and of course, Unilocal to the rescue! Littlefork is only a couple miles from home so I made reservations and ubered my way over there! We sat at the bar and I had my first round of oysters. At $ 1.50 each, it’s easy on the wallet and quite a treat for the palette. The oysters were clean, firm, and a bit sweet. YUM! We also had: HH wings — husband said they were a bit gamey. I don’t like gamey. PASS! HH cilantro & garlic fries — crunchy and delicious. Just what you expect from good fries Brisket — cooked well but a tad too salty. the trio of mustards were good Snap pea salad — a little underdressed but the burrata on top was great! Service was great! Next time I’ll be back to try other things. The menu is great — I wanted to try all of it. Definitely recommend for the oysters!

Came here for Sunday brunch with a friend. I love the«outside» covered seating with the super comfy cushions. Of course we did the $ 16 bottomless mimosa, punch, bloody mary, and bloody larry deal. The punch ended up being my favorite. We both got the short rib hash with a sunny side up egg(I got scrambled instead), potatoes, kale, and a tomato based sauce. It was excellent! I would highly recommend this place for brunch. I believe our waiter’s name was Dylan. He was very friendly and kept checking on our waters and drinks.

We entered this restaurant through their tiny front door and were immediately greeted by the waiter. I was surprised when the waiter knew my name without me saying anything, but then as we walked into the main area(there is a small bar to the left of the entrance away from the restaurant seating area) I realized it was all empty – that’s why. But this place has good ratings on Unilocal so I’m guessing Tuesday 7pm is just a slow time for them. As pointed out by my graphic design friend, the menu is really hard to read because of the tight space and bad usage of fonts but we managed. The waiter politely asked if it was our first time here(yes) and explained to us that the dishes in this restaurant are small in portion – each person should expect to order around 2 – 3 items – and he recommends that we share the dishes. In the end my friend and I ordered 4 dishes and 1 dessert: 1) M A P L E E G G S: These came in tiny egg shells, super cute! The bottom is sweet egg custard and then scrambled eggs in the middle topped with a piece of bacon. It tasted like what you’d expect it to – scrambled eggs with some sweet maple flavor and the bacon gives a nice added texture. Would recommend! 2) B U R R A T A T O A S T: This was definitely our favorite dish of the night. I personally love burrata, and I thought the pairing with the crispy toast and the crunchy pistachio was wonderful. For $ 13 this is definitely a must try! 3) S T E A K T A R T A R E: This was a miss for us. I’ve definitely had much much better tartare before. It tastes kind of like raw tuna – kind of sour-y and the texture isn’t that great. There also isn’t enough pieces of bread to eat the tartare with. Miss. 4) L O B S T E R R O L L: The lobster rolls I’ve had in the past were always hot, this is my first time trying a cold one. I definitely prefer the hot ones, but this was not too bad. The bread was great, very chewy and buttery, and not to mention the lobster spilling out of the bread. I didn’t expect there to be that much lobster so I was pretty satisfied: P It comes with salt and vinegar chips – I’m not a big fan but my friend loves the flavor and says the chips were great. Worth the try. 5) A P P L E C I D E R D O N U T S: I’m not a big fan of apple-y desserts but I still thought this was really good. It comes with 2 donuts and some apple jam(they call it apple butter) and caramel on the side. I only finished half of my donut cause I was full, but my friend loved it so much she finished my half! The donut was warm and soft it was wonderful. If only there was a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with this… :P

Came in for brunch on Saturday morning. Our experience started off slightly strange, but definitely picked up. When my BF and I first walked in, we were greeted by the host or manager(not too sure) and was asked if we had reservations. We said no and asked if there was a wait and he replies«there might be.» He has a few words with the hostess and then a few seconds later, she takes us around the corner and we see a fairly empty dining room(there were a few people seated out on the«patio» and only 1 table seated inside)…there might be a wait??? We get seated, look over the menu and are undecided on a few items. We get some suggestions from our server and it begins… Starter: Citrus curedSALMON tartine, sauce gribiche, egg, capers, dill pickles($ 13) Man, oh man… this was amazing. The BF had said he’d come back to order one of these every morning for breakfast before work(too bad they don’t open till 5 on the weekdays). There was a creaminess to it as well as a bright citrus-y flavor. I ranked in #2 of the items we ordered, BF ranked it #1. My entrée: smoke pork belly BENEDICT, corn bread, poached eggs, primeton hollandaise($ 13) HOLYEFF!!! I took one bite and was sold. It was pure heaven in my mouth. The cornbread it’s sitting on was absolute perfection, moist and sweet. The pork belly was buttery and the eggs… well, they were eggs. But the combination of everything together had me licking my plate clean. The BF looked at me with wide eyes and asked«did you just orgasm???» Yes. Yes I did. His entrée: 1 lb. LOBSTER roll, parker house bun, housemade sea salt and vinegar chips($ 30) Honestly, it was good… but no different than any other lobster roll I’ve had anywhere else. The roll was nice and buttery(as it should be) with a slight crispness to the outside while still being soft. The vinegar chips were VERY vinegar-y. We did both look at it and didn’t think it looked like it was 1 lb. of lobster though. Overall the meal was great, the space was nice, and service was pretty good. Will definitely be back

I’m a Portugee from New England. New Bedford, MA. I know my NE and Portuguese food and I absolutely crave and miss them with every fiber of my being. I’ve only been to Littlefork twice. Both times were memorable for me. This is what I enjoyed on my last visit, Friday, Feb 20th(7:00 reservations.) *** Duck Poutine– really good. A little more gravy would make me happy though. *** Clam chowder– One Word: YAAAAAAAS !!! No other words. *** Heirloom tomato salad– scrumptious *** Chicken cataplana, clams, LINGUICA, pimenton, pain levain. They had me at linguica. This plate was a delight to my Portuguese taste buds. ***Apple Cider donuts with apple butter, salted caramel. Worth gaining a pound over. Server– Dylan. If he were my server for the rest of my life, I’d be astatic. Perfect blend of attentiveness and unobtrusiveness. I had questions. «Where are the clams from? What is this ingredient? What should I order next???» Dylan had all the answers. I’m in love. My only disappointment, and the reason for the missing star, is I didn’t get to enjoy an IPA with this beautiful meal. They were out(sad face.) I did, however, start off with one of the best drinks I’ve had– Thai Town Mule. Wowzers. Ginger for days. It’s a delicious punch in the face and I wanted more. Beautiful, layed back atmosphere. Loved the décor. I highly recommend Littlefork especially if you’re looking to get your New England food on. I speak from experience. Just Fabulous.

3.5 stars. Littlefork definitely has its merits, but it might be a wee bit overrated. It’s located on an easy-to-miss kind of side street but the restaurant is spacious and cute. It’s furnished with treated wood and completes its hipster chic vibe with super dim lighting(see: too dark). I thought both the Chowder and Pork/Duck Rillettes were great appetizers– the hearty chowder comes loaded with chunks of potatoes and the mini garlic toasts served with the Rillettes are super addicting. I also enjoyed some quality oysters with an apple cider mignonette sauce that I wanted to bottle and take home– I recommend the Fanny Bays! I’m a bit torn about the Maple Eggs, which I gather to be a Littlefork signature. The dish consists of scrambled eggs, maple custard, and a mini strip of bacon served up in a shot glass that looks like a hollowed out eggshell– it’s basically a bite-sized breakfast. I love breakfast just as much as the next person, but once I got past the cute presentation, I didn’t think there was anything particularly impressive or innovative about the flavor. It all seemed a bit gimmicky. Sadly, the good news ends with the appetizers, as both the Steak au Poivre and Whitefish Paillard entrees were lackluster. The meat was tough and the whitefish was way too salty. My friend and I agreed that both dishes tasted like something we could whip up at home with proteins we could pick up at Ralph’s. The Profiteroles dessert was okay, but the Panna Cotta had cubes of basil gelée that tasted so weird with the strong citrus notes present in the dish. Also, Littlefork seems to think it’s cute to serve food in glass jars that are more agitating than functional– it was so hard to fork out both the Rillettes and Panna Cotta from these jars. Overall, Littlefork is a cool little spot to sample some smaller bites, but I won’t be going out of my way to come and pay the $ 10 valet fee. It’s probably better suited for drinks and appetizers with friends than for a deeply satisfying dinner.
