I eat here when I miss Korea. This place has almost same flavor the one on Korea. FYI, this restaurant is Korean Style Chinese food. Their tangsuyuk(fried pork with sweet sauce) is on point.

This is an interesting hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant with a mix of Chinese and Korean food. I was going to order Wo Won Ton min, but somehow my friend got me to eat Boiled Man Doo and Chiajiang noodles which turned out to be just right! The ban chan starter was kim chee, takuan, and slices of onion that get dipped into the brown sauce of the noodles. The Man Doo was full of flavor and moisture… better and bigger than an XLB! The Chiajiang noodles were cut with scissors, then mixed into the brown sauce and sautéed onions. Comfort food: soft and warm! Mmm! The service was good.(Just don’t ask for Kim Bap… that’s not on the menu… hahaha. .wondering if they have naengmyeon… bet it would be yummy here.) The parking is free in the front lot. There is a convenient restroom. The Asian décor is appreciated in this simple restaurant. I would return for more!

Asked a Homie what to try while we passed through K-Town, this was the place he highly recommend. Suggested the Black Bean Noodle/Spicy Seafood Soup combo which was so good. Never had this before and it was so worth the try. Wife is allergic to shrimp so she was bummed she couldn’t eat it but we both really enjoyed the Bean Noodles. I messed up though, I ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken not aware that it had pineapple which I am allergic to. I looked so good and the wife enjoyed what she could eat of it(it was a lot of food) so I got payback from messing up and ordering the seafood soup that she couldn’t try. All in all a good place, something really worth trying was the combo soup. I am sure everything else here has got to be good. Only thing I didn’t like was the restroom, we measure quite a bit of restaurant quality based on the places restroom and though it wasn’t the worst it was a little indicating of their priorities.

Divey Chinese food joint where the portions are huge and it’s priced right! I love that they have JJAMJAAMYUN — the solution of combining jja jjang myun with jjambbong when you crave both. It’s greasy, spicy, and thus perfect! One of my other favorite things here is Yang Jang Pi which is a cold noodle mixture of seafood, and veggies on top of wide clear noodles which is then tossed with a hot mustard dressing. It’s delicious. If you’re looking to try something so different and so not typical Chinese dish, then give this a try. Ideal for takeout or delivery. You can eat in but if you want an ambience then fuggetaboutit!

This review is solely for their fried wontons. Wontons have meat in them; fried wonton skins are not the same as fried wontons.

If you like black bean noodle or spicy seafood soup, this is one of the best places to eat in all of ktown. Of course this is not the best you will ever have, but it is on the top with others. I highly suggest eating it at the restaurant as the noodles will not be that good after about 5 mins as they will stick together. i personally like the black bean noodle, but most of my friends go for the seafood soup. Or you can order the dish that has both, its about $ 2 more, but you get to try both, so its a win win!!!

This is one of those places in ktown that have been around for a long time and the owner probably feels why change anything if it’s been working for decades? Well, here are a couple of this I would urge the owner to consider: 1. Get rid of the sad fish tank. There are way too many fish crammed into a small tank and it does nothing to enhance the small space of the restaurant. 2. Hide your half a century old extension cord. We were sat next to the sad fish tank with a dangling grimy extention cord. My husband and I could barely keep our food down knowing that it was right next to us. 3. Chefs and manager alike would take cigarette breaks right in front of the store. Hope they washed their hands after! 4. The manager or owner was a brute of a woman who was constantly barking orders and lecturing her one waitress. I felt really bad for her the whole time we were there Overall, food is not the best(noodles were clumpy fresh from the kitchen), it feels too dirty inside to enjoy the food, and disrespectful manager will keep me away.

Spicy three sea dry cha chiang mein is amazing here. It’s another level of flavor when we ordered an extra black bean sauce on the side. Also got orange chicken and it’s the crispiest, crunchiest orange chicken we ever had. They gave complimentary rice and we mixed it with the black bean sauce. It’s so good. We’re at a happy place.

I found this little guy kinda by chance, because I was in the middle of running an errand and I got an order to pick up some black bean noodles for a client of mine. I happened to be in the plaza for a totally different reason, but I figured instead of going to another Chinese restaurant located somewhere else in gridlocked Koreatown at the time, I called him to see if this place would work for his order, lucky for me said yes. I found out only later that this place is more known for their spicy seafood noodles known as champong. It didn’t matter much, because the black bean noodles worked out very well with my client. Compared to other Korean influenced Chinese restaurants, I noticed that this place had different style noodles that contributed to its unique taste profile. They use this variation of chewy yellow noodles that seem machine made, rather than the usual white noodles that are made by hand or machine at other places. The extra bit of chewiness works well with the black bean sauce they use, because every bite satisfies the customer’s tastebuds with black bean sauce and also adds a little bit of of added pleasant texture. The black bean sauce they use to make it also clings to the noodles very well. If I had to describe the taste of the black bean noodles, it’d be oily black bean sauce that’s not too salty and more gravy-like with spaghetti style noodles that are much more chewier than standard spaghetti noodles. There’s certainly nothing really special about the food here, but the fact that it’s really cheap, convenient, and you know exactly what you’ll get from here, makes this restaurant a comfortable 3⁄5. Two black bean noodles to-go cost less than $ 15 and feeds 2 – 3 people.

A-okay. I ordered gan(dry) jja jang noodles. It had shrimp but also thick pieces of pork fat. Gross! Order with no pork. I prefer dry jja jang because of the sauteed onions. Customer service was very attentive. But! I had leftovers I wanted to take home. When I opened my leftovers, there were no shrimp. Whoever packed it must have ripped off the shrimps. WTF! When taking foods to go, ask for a container to pack for your own leftovers to go. Don’t let a worker do it for you. I’ve had better. At night, they keep the door opened. Why? It let a fly in and landed straight into a bowl of jja jang sauce. I did like the wonton soup broth.

Came here with coworkers for lunch. The place is not much to look at but the food was good. We had the fried shrimp with spicy sauce, Mongolian beef, and Kung Pao chicken. Everything taste really good. The prawns were breaded and deep fried. The Mongolian beef has too many onions but it taste good. The Kung Pao chicken, my coworker ordered it cause he doesn’t eat shrimp. This was the 2nd time we were back here. It’s a little pricey but you are buying the quality of food.

*** Update **** So we just had to throw the delivery driver out of the office !!! Their english is so bad they still delivered food after I cancelled it. This review isnt about the food. I never got far enough in the order to have them deliver it. The woman i spoke to couldn’t speak English very well and was unable to complete my order. Everything she repeated back to me was completely wrong. Im not a jerk when it comes to people having a difficult time assimilating to America but if you are going to answer the phone either speak English or have someone help you out.

It’s okay if you want to get somewhat decent delivery jjajjaagmyung and some soup but be advised that they do not carry probably half of the menu posted here anymore and they do not have any current updates on menus. I’m giving 3 stars based on their ability to deliver to my location but had to knock off not having many items from the menu that kept me on the phone for them for an additional 5 mins until I just reverted back to getting hot and sour soup just to meet the minimum delivery amount. This place does have good and bad days so just stick with the typical everyday kind of food here and you should be safe. 7 out of 10 for the spicy seafood jjajjaagmyung 5 out of 10 for hot and sour soup 4 out of 10 for communication(will always be a little struggle but they figure it out) Kimchee was disgusting the last few times I ordered from there so beware. Delivery has usually been pretty quick(within 30 – 45 mins).

The BEST!!! BEST!!! BEST!!! There’s no place that offers this good Champon(Spicy Soup Noodle) in K-town. I lived in K-town for 20 years and I literally tried every Chinese restaurant in this town. I’ll give 5 stars anytime to this place for the Champon noodle. The other places give you weird smelly white textured noodles. The noodle in this place is yellow textured and it’s so chewy without that weird smell. Since the noodle itself is so tasty and chewy, any noodle dishes here are pretty much good. I recommend trying Sam Sun Champon which they’ll add three more kinds of seafood(Shrimp, Sea Cucumber, and Squid). It will add more flavor to the regular Champon and they really go well together. If you’re more into JJa Jang Myun(Black Bean Noodle), I recommend ordering Sam Sun Gan JJa Jang which the seafood that I mention above is added with sauce freshly made with fresh onions. It’s way better than regular one with little or no difference in price. I can’t comment on their other non-noodle dishes since I only go here for noodles.

This is the place to go to get jjambbong the seafood noodles soup and jjajangmyung the black bean noodles. I actually called in my order by the time I got there the restaurant was packed. I did have to wait for my take out food. Okay the kung pao chicken lunch special was ok, the jjambbong was delicious and the sweet & sour pork was okay. I think I’ll stick with the noodles here.

Cold jellyfish was delicious with thinly sliced cucumbers and horseradish sauce Mongolian beef was tender over a bed of onions Fried shrimp in garlic sauce was sweet and crunchy Two bowls of jjajangmyun was perfectly done– they were able to accomodate us and leave out the pork Service was pretty good, although they should really consider renovating. The furniture and décor is really getting ratty…

Even though it’s says Chinese food, like most Chinese joints in ktown, it’s really Korean-Chinese — they even speak Korean. We called in a couple of orders of seafoodjjajanmyun, and within 20 minutes they had delivered to us in downtown(for free), very fast service even on a Sunday at lunchtime! The portions were pretty generous, and they give you some radishes and kimchi also, but the kimchi was horrible. Maybe the worst I’ve ever had. The noodles were nice and chewy though, even if they came to us a bit cold. The sauce was super oily and the oil was leaking through the delivery boxes, and also leaves an oily aftertaste in the mouth. Otherwise, it was pretty good though, and it had pork, shrimp, squid, and sea cucumber in it. Very cheap and free delivery, so it’s good if you’re lazy and craving jjajangmyun but otherwise Young King is much better(though they don’t deliver).

Don’t judge a book by its cover! The place looks dank and dirty but so what! It’s about the food, not about how well decorated a place is. The food quality for its price is good. The jjam bbong and ggang poong seh woo(deep fried shrimp with spicey sauce) was good. Parking is bad and this place opens later than any other chinese restaurant in ktown.
