My friend works near this place and often stops in for a quick lunch. I went to visit her one day and stopped in myself to pick up lunch for both of us. We had the CHICKENTERIYAKIBOWLS. They were both decent, and the portions were a good size. So why the two-star review, you ask? Well, it’s mostly because, while I was waiting for my food to come out, I had a five-minute-long staring contest with a wee baby cockroach on the counter. In retrospect, I don’t know why I didn’t run out of there screaming. I really don’t know why I ate the whole chicken bowl(well, probably because I paid for it). But rest assured that I’m never going back.

This is the sort of place that end up at when my plans go awry. I actually went there on August 8, a few days before my Grandma’s memorial service. I thought I was supposed to go to Union Station to pick up my cousin. Turns out he was coming in the NEXT day. Ooooops. I guess it’s time to turn around! Traffic was horrendous, so I decided to take surface streets instead of the freeway. On the way home, it occurred to me that Yoshi might be hungry so I pulled into Restaurant Mecko and ordered the following: #11: Korean BBQ($ 8.50) #34: Mojarra Fried Fish($ 5.95) #26: Chicken Burrito($ 3.50) I would have to say the fried fish was the best deal of all! It was a HUGE fish that they fried freshly for me! The KBBQ was ok for take-out, but a little pricey considering the portion size. The chicken burrito was of considerable size, stuffed full of chicken and rice, so I would say it was a fair price. Korean owners are very nice and hard working. They make everything carefully and to order. And they really do have a wood-burning rotisserie; I watched as the man added more logs to the fire. I am not sure if they deliver, but they definitely take orders over the phone so you can have it waiting when you get there to pick up. All in all, I would say this is a three or four star place. And since it’s the holiday season, I’m going to round up to four! PS — Small parking lot, but it’s also not totally busy; you should be able to find a parking space! PPS — Open M-Sat from 8am-8pm; Sun from 9 – 4! Talk about hard-working!!!

Three words: Cheap Korean Barbecue. The day I was there eating for the first time, the City Inspector was going over violations with the owner. They went from an A to B in the time I was eating my tasty Korean beef plate. The violations were the type that small hole in the wall places get when they refuse to succumb to the«Man». If you can overlook this, they offer chicken dishes, as well, and they range from $ 5 to $ 8.
