If I remember, this place used to be in Garden Grove way back in the day… been coming here since i was little… if your gonna get anything, just get the naengmyun… it’s good here.

The food is amazing. Everything is about the soup stock and the quality of the noodles. Get the nengmyun(cold noodle soup) with buckwheat noodles and ribs. The texture and flavor safe unbeatable. You can’t find this anywhere else besides in LA and Korea. Service at Korean restaurants like these certainly cannot be compared to American restaurant standards. They are designed to be curt and fast paced to maximize profits so don’t linger or passively wait for service especially since this place is particularly poor with service. Be assertive and come here just for the food.

*This is just a review for the(spicy) cold noodles. This place was advertised on TV, so I came with my family to try it out. They offer free side of noodles, but really, I think they just divided a portion of one into two. WHAT’S THEPOINT??? Honestly, tastes worse than store bought cold noodles. Never coming here again. No need to say more. ANDTHEREAREFLIESEVERYWHEREAHHHHH!!!

Over the weekend as it was really hot, I was craving korean cold noodles(nangmyun). This place was recommended by one of my friends who live in ktown. We went in around 5pm on Sunday and it was already busy. We were greeted right away and seated. After we ordered, they asked us to move to a different table as they had a large party just walked in, so they needed our table. Since we didn’t get our foods yet, we agreed to move. We ordered saekimi cold noodles with white noodles, mungbean pancake and dumpling plate. All of them were pretty good. However, the service was not really good except when we walked in. The place got pretty busy after awhile as it was a hot day. However, it took a long time to get our foods, we asked for refill for the hot broth that they give several times, but we didn’t get it until we asked check. Getting a check itself also took a long time. I am not sure if it is just that day, but around the restaurant, there were a lot of tables waiting or complaining about their service. There was one table ordered extra foods but they just put them in to-go after they had to check on progress since it took so long. There was another table received the wrong order and the waitress was asking if they could just take the wrong food instead. I think I might come back for the foods but I am hesitant because of the service. Food: 3.5 stars Service: 2 stars Atmosphere: 3 stars Overall Experience: 2.5 stars

Had mool-neng in two different styles — Pyong Yang(buckwheat noodle) and Ham Heung(starch noodle). The only difference between the two was the noodle type, which was disappointing given that base(soup) is supposed to be different also. The service was bad. Unfriendly and super curt the whole time. Please don’t go here. There are plenty of other neng myun places that serve better food with much better service.

What is better on a hot day than a bowl of naengmyun? This place has a solid broth base and the buckwheat noodles are just right. I came at a time when it wasn’t busy so the services was fine. Also they have free parking at this plaza which is also a plus being in Los Angeles. Will be coming back here often once summer comes around!

I really was, and am still the fan of the food here. Mainly because of those rare Pyeong-Yang Style Korean chilled Buckwheat Noodles(Naeng Myun.) However! The servers here have some attitudes for sure. Ok, so it was around 8pm and was pretty chilly outside, but they had the door fully open(which is fine,) but when I asked servers to close the door– chilly weather + cold noodle = getting bit cold, they had that«what the.» face and started to talk about customer(me) in the back. Plus they said«Turn the AC on!» Like they were annoyed by me even if I could hear all they were saying. I understand that servers should be running around, and perhaps it was hot for them inside. But the question that has arisen was– should customer try to fit their needs? And is it considered polite to really show their annoyance on their face and talk about the customer in the back when he can actually hear all that? I don’t expect much, but I believe in that eating should be an relaxing experience. At the end of the day– in the end, don’t we all want nice meal in a relaxing atmosphere when closing the day with a dinner that we consider nice? It all even started when I entered and said I was the party of 1, the server had that face literally saying«Oh small table– small tip– don’t really wanna serve ya.» In the end when I was about to leave, I asked for the check– and again here it goes– they literally threw that little plastic receipt holder to my table. Horrible, horrible service. Really hated the experience here. Almost as horrible as to upset all the good food I had. I’ve been here many, many times, and it is consistently getting worse. Lost a loyal customer, will NOT be coming back. 2 Stars for the food itself.

The the food court options in the mall are better that this joint. We ordered spicy nangmyun and kalbi combo’s both were barely edible. I think the reason people come here is the cheap soju as there were some drinks in the restaurant at 3pm telling«no F ING way». Of course they were sitting next to a family with the only young kids.

I only come here with my friends for the Kalbi-tang and the broth drink which is pretty satisfying. Although, service can be really bad when it’s busy and sometimes there are flies in the restaurant which is annoying. Overall, three stars for this place.

It’s a solid 3. As much as I want to support local small businesses and fellow koreans… there are so many places in koreatown that have great tasting cold noodles that this place REALLY is a solid 3. It’s definitely NOTBAD but it’s not… «OMG this is my SPOT!» :) I’ve been here a few times and tried their cold noodles, both the buckwheat and the white and their spicy cold noodles. Oh I also tried their bin dae dduk it’s like… soy bean pan cake? haha but that was good it reminded me of my grandma’s :) The cold noodles, I prefer the buckwheat because it has a flavor to it than the white one. I’m not a fan of white rice because there’s no taste and anything white… or flour gives me the same kind of vibe… I’m biased but yes, that’s how I feel. hahaha They seem to be advertising a lot more on the korean channel and the papers lately, there’s always a bit of a wait but the wait is never too bad. Korean people usually just eat and bounce! hahaha ain’t nobody got time to chit-chat haha Portion wise it’s always enough and they don’t try to skimp out on the meat that comes inside the cold noodles, let me remind you you’re getting cold NOODLES not beef cold soup. So if you have more than 3 pieces of beef slices in your bowl you’re good, it’s for garnish any way. But when you order noodles only they don’t give you side dishes but pickled radish. Their spicy noodles are good too, but this one they went a little stingy .they don’t give you a lot of fish inside. But still the sauce isn’t too spicy and the noodles don’t over power. Cold noodles are perfect on a hot day in my opinion and it’s light! :) The price is decent, around $ 8 for a bowl. The service is never horrendous but it can get a little crazy and you just have to yell out or grab someone for something.(please don’t use the latter option) haha All in all it’s a place I’d go because it’s close to where I live but it’s not a place I crave. haha Would I come back? yes. Would I recommend it? Probably not… The parking is HORRIBLE here… they have the smallest lot that they share with three different establishments and during the lunch and dinner rush you’re probably going to want to shoot someone for parking haha :) but it’s FREE parking which doesn’t come around too often in LA.

Bi-naeng ok, dogani-tang yuck. 1. Free parking in rear or metered parking at the front. 2. Place was busy for lunch with long wait. Come in and write your name down on the waiting list. 3. Be prepared to dine at community table. 4. Unorganized wait staff running around headless. Cold noodle dish was ok. My soup was not so good. Meat was tough. Lot of people were ordering steamed dumplings and cold noodle dish due to 90+ weather.

I have yet to find a place where the naeng-myun(cold noodle) is out of this world. I’ve only had awesome naeng-myun in Korea.darn. The only thing I eat at this place is the naeng-myun, but it’s a hit or miss. I’ve noticed that the days the owner is there, the naeng-myun tastes better. The ban-chan(side dishes) taste great. Even the yook-soo(beef broth drink) tastes satisfying. But when she isn’t there… everything is bland or just a bit off. It’s quite inconsistent, which is disappointing and also why this place only gets 3 stars. My search continues for awesome naeng-myun…

Soju is cheap here. The food is okay, good if you’re real hungry and can’t stand the wait in any of the neighboring places. The yukaejang is good, the kimchee jiggae is not quite stinky enough but packed full of MSG goodness, if ur in the mood for salt. The mool mandu(boiled dumplings) aren’t too shabby, and their seafood pancake(more omelette than flour) is interesting. It’s one of those places, that even though the soju is cheap, you probably wouldn’t necessarily drink here unless you were old(which is what we saw, groups of old men drinking) since it’s rather bright inside. Maybe they could turn down the lights a notch at night time…

This place is excellent! It’s hard to find a restaurant that specializes in naengmyun(Korean cold noodles). O Jang Dong not only offers a wide selection of cold noodles(mulnaengmyun, bibimnaengmyun, hwenaengmyun, etc), but they also offer myun in buckwheat AND starch. This is awesome for people who want to taste and compare naengmyun from different regions of Korea. The service is very accommodating and helpful. My wife and I arrived near closing time but they still let us in and served us. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in dire need of something cold and refreshing on a hot summer day :)

It’s been a long time since I’ve craved nengmyun. I used to love it so much till I went to live in Korea for a few years. Visiting cheap bunshikjoem places made me get sick of eating nengmyun. After eating here last month, it rekindled my appetite for nengmyun. Hurray! My advice, get the Sekimi nengmyun. Get the white noodles, not the buckwheat. It is chewier and soaks up more flavor. Buckwheat is healthier maybe and it’s good as well, but i prefer the white noodles. It completely satisfied my craving today!

This is one of the few places that makes me want to tell Unilocal to make a negative star selection. I made my take out over the phone about 10 minutes before arrival. They usually make their take out orders when the customer arrives because they do not want to serve fat bad noodles. I understand that concept and think its great but i told them specifically i will be there in 10 minutes and i want to pay and leave right away because i was in a hurry. (I ordered 2 neng myun and 1 pork cutlet) I get to the store, my pork cutlet is ready sitting there but she said that i’d have to wait for my nengmyun for five mintues. So i came back after five minutes and she said five more minutes. which ended up being ten. After 15 mins of my pork cutlet sitting in the cold coutertop. she puts the nengmyun and the other banchan in a box. She calls me eggi(Little child) eeh loo wah(come here)…wt F are you kidding me… Then that«SMART» cashier tells me. the pork cutlet took a long time. are you F U C K ing kidding me?.. i was sitting there the whole time… watching the cutlet sit there… I get in the car with the box on my lap. NEXTOBVIOUS shi t .the whole cold broth is sinking into my pants. and im just saying shibal shibal shibal. that lazy as s girl didnt even bother to close my lid … S P E E C H L E S S

My friends and I were debating what to eat and it was a hot day, so naeng myun came to mind and thus found ourselves here. Extra bonus is that they have a small parking lot in the back. Here’s the breakdown of the food: –Bibim Naeng Myun: Portion size is good for one hungry person, or for two lesser hungry people. Had this with the starch noodles rather than the buckwheat ones per recommendation of the waitress, which was a good choice as the noodles had some chewiness, but not overly chewy that hard to eat. Good amount of spice with with slices of meat, radish, cucumber and hard boiled egg. I like that there was a fair amount of toppings because it’s a little to bare if it’s mostly noodles. –Mandu jeopsi: These dumplings were quite large and filling, but delicious nonetheless. These were much better than the fare I had at Myung-In Dumplings and this isn’t even a dumpling place. –Panjeon: The pancake was thicker than most places, but it had a nice crisp. Although, my favorite panjeon is still from Kobawoo. –Banchan: moderate variety with acceptable taste, but nothing special or rare compared to other places Service was friendly and fast. Will be back for my next craving on a hot day.

I came here with a group of 12 people on a hot Sunday because we wanted some cold food. We should’ve done more research before we came here. Décor/Ambiance: 3 Stars*** The place was pretty bright from all the windows, clean and new. Food: 2 Stars** Naengmyun(cold noodle soup) and bibim nengmyun were both very disappointing. How can you advertise these noodles in your name and have it come out flavorless?! I would have to say that this was one of the worst naengmyun I’ve tried in Ktown. The banchan(side dishes) were actually very good. I really enjoyed the kimchi and the eggplant. Service: 1 Star* The servers here have horrible memory. We had to ask for waters, extra side dishes, etc… SEVERAL times. I came here with a group of friends and while we were laughing, which wasn’t that loud, the server came up to us and told us to quiet down. Even though they promised us one table for our group, they just split us into two groups at different tables. Parking O Jang Dong has its own private lot in behind the restaurant.

Wow. I had great expectations but I left very disappointed =( Everything was off about the naengmyun. Especially the two most important factors: The broth was way way way way bland. The buckwheat noodles were too soft. Honestly, naengmyun samples at the market taste better. Not a fact, just my opinion. To make matters worse, the service was way off. It took a long time to take our order and then you had to flag them down for everything else. Maybe sullongtang is the way to go. Or the bibim naengmyun? Don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.
