So fun! I’ve been here a couple times and haven’t had a bad time yet. The actors are extremely talented and man can they sing! I recently went to see Devil Wears Prada and it was so so so so good! I loved everything about it. It was funny, inspiring and sad. Its great when you go to see a show and the actors make you feel emotions through them. The drinks come out quickly and the staff was is really friendly . There’s easy valet parking in the back.

The absolute worst restaurant ever!!! The food was horrible!!! We ordered a fried chicken and biscuit and the sweet potato and hash. Everything about it was disgusting! The sweet potato tastes like it was weeks old. The fried chicken was dry and the biscuit was so hard and gross. Not to mention the Cadillac Margarita. How do you mess up on a Cadillac margarita!!! Totally not worth the $ 60 spent. NEVERAGAIN!!!

First visit! Wandered in the back entrance, just to peek in and check it out before catching a ride home. Cool atmosphere, very unique place .a blend of bar, lounge, restaurant… and live performance. Also offers a rooftop space for private events. An inviting twinkle lit open air patio, offers a nice ambiance as does the as the bar itself. The front entrance on Vermont brings you to the live performance space. With a friendly and warm welcome from bartender DJ, and manager Casey, just couldn’t pass up happily hanging out, enjoying a well poured cocktail and conversation. I tried a new sandwich creation Chef Glen was perfecting-amazing. Looking forward to next time!

Just celebrated my birthday here — and it was perfect. I reserved the upstairs of the patio for $ 150, and we had our own bar and area to hang in and decorate — it was sincerely the ideal venue. The staff was helpful — the service was great — the drinks were fantastic — the snacks were amazing — I couldn’t have asked for a better spot. Definitely a birthday to remember! Well. What I can remember. I drank a lot of strawberry fizzlers. I definitely recommend this if you’re looking to have a birthday where you can drink and mingle and chat and boogie — but also want your own area and don’t want to jockey with other patrons for a corner of some noisy bar. The patio is beautiful, with the lit up tree, and the upstairs was spacious. We had the filet mignon tacos(yum), calamari(yum), and some other snacks. We brought a cake and the staff helped light the candles even! There’s a valet to make it easy for guests. There’s a fun photo booth downstairs. There’s music. There’s a video screen. I shopped around for different places — lots of them were ridiculously expensive — and this was the best choice every which way.

Got a Groupon for $ 40 worth of food and drinks for $ 24. To be fair, I wasn’t that eager to try the place because it seems like it’s always offering a Groupon and that’s worrisome. What a nice surprise Rockwell turned out to be! The Groupon is only good for dinner on the patio. And to be clear, it is a real patio — you’re sitting outside. There are heat lamps, but still it’s a good idea to bring a wrap or sweater if you’re dining at night. I had the sliders appetizer as my main course($ 15). They were topped with this delicious blue cheese fondue which really made the dish outstanding. Loved ‘em. My vegetarian SO had the Quinoa Burger($ 15), which she liked very much. I didn’t try it because… no. It came with a side and she choose the Fresh Street Corn(with a little nudging from me) and it was great. We decided to split an order of the Capt’n Crunch Onion Rings. I’m not a fan of the cereal so I can’t tell you if these taste similar… but they are sweet. Didn’t love these, but they weren’t bad. Service was great. They have a lovely dining room and bar area. This looks like a fun spot to do Happy Hour. We had a very nice time and would definitely go back. Don’t let the constant Grouponing scare you… buy yourself one and be thankful you can enjoy good food with a discount.

Been here a few times to watch the live shows and finally decided to have dinner here for my bffs birthday. Got here early on a Thursday night and it was fairly empty. I even made a reservation but guess it wasn’t necessary! Ordered the Honey Lavender Roast Chicken for myself & the Salmon Filet Brule for the BFF. Service was very friendly but it did take them awhile to get our drinks in order. Food came out quickly though. I was very impressed with the marinade of my honey lavender chicken. I think it had to be the most flavorful marinade I’ve ever had! What was disappointing was that the chicken was waaaay over cooked. Even the dark meat. A bit of a disappointment cause the marinade was super delish! The Brussel sprouts and fries were great too but I seriously couldn’t get over how dry the chicken was. Hopefully they take note and fix it. The BFF liked his salmon but wasn’t totally blown away. I got a taste and it was ok. Didn’t wow me either! The butternut squash was amazing though! Glad I got a bite of that too. Atmosphere is very romantic with the tree decorated with lights as the centerpiece of the restaurant and the open concept as well. Cute for a date night but maybe not the first date as the food is just okay. Idk if I’d just eat here just to eat here. I’d only take advantage of I was watching a show again. Even then, might try a different place prior as there are better places to eat in the area!

I went here to see Jeff Goldblum play jazz piano. I know, right? SO much fun. He came around to the people in the audience and took pictures with them, shook their hands, etc. People went up and did their best Jeff impersonations. Someone proposed to her love. Just entertaining all around! There’s a parking lot in the back! Food was OK, nothing spectacular. I had the avocado hummus with veggies. The veggies were nice and fresh but the dip was rather bland. Not the best beer selection, they had Point the Way IPA for $ 9(!) but it was a big boy. Classy joint. Good times had.

What a fun venue! This review is also for the Unauthorized Musical Parody of the Devil Wears Prada. The drinks are strong and delicious, the service impeccable and funny, the food is solid, and the show was amazing. What a great evening. The Unauthorized Musical Parody of the Devil Wears Prada is such an awesome show. The cast was talented, hilarious, the singing was fun, and I loved the audience integration and participation. Any seat in the house is worth it. What a great gem here in LA. I can’t wait to go back and see other productions!

Came here to see the unauthorized musical parody of the devil wears Prada! Amazing show! Highly highly recommend it. So funny! And the integration of the movie with current pop songs was so creative! Loved it! The actors were great the singing was amazing and the drinks from the bar were extremely good. I had the Alhambra and it was perfect, vodka, grapefruit and a tiny little slice of jalapeño for a small kick! So yummy. Any seat at this place is great! Yes even the $ 11 dollar seats. It’s a small venue so no matter where you sit you’ll see and hear the actors at all times. Plus they’re constantly moving anyway. Love finding little hidden gems like this in LA!

Food is okay and the service is good. It’s a great place for a lunch meeting or large party. I’ve been here a few times and the menu seems different every time I’m here. Today’s menu(Friday, 3⁄18) was a prix fixe lunch consisting of an appetizer and main course for $ 16. The garlic shrimp was very tasty. Five pieces of large shrimp in a skillet sautéed with garlic and mild chilies flanked by two pieces of whole wheat bread. This was the best thing I had for lunch. My main course was the Lavender Honey Roast Chicken with fries and asparagus. The shoestring fries were good(can’t go wrong there) and the asparagus was peppered for good flavor too. The chicken, however, was dull and had absolutely no taste whatsoever. Even the grilled skin was bland. Meh. Two large pieces(leg/thigh and a partial breast) of beautiful but lifeless chicken. I’ll still be back. There’s plenty to try and their stuff is usually pretty good. Park in the dedicated lot behind the restaurant and be sure to order the Arnold Palmer.

Came back to see The Unauthorized Musical Parody of The Devil Wears Prada. This was SOMUCHFUN! My first review still applies. This place is fantastic in terms of food, service, and the show. This time, we had seats right next to the stage and interacted with the characters during the show. The actors are all extremely talented and have amazing singing voices. Definitely a great place for a fun evening. I highly recommend Rockwell Table & Stage and their shows.

I was down in LA over the Valentines(2016) weekend and our friend took us here because it’s her favorite place to go and see a show and have good food. We ordered practically everything on their Happy Hour Menu. Everything was delish except the Tacos. I LOVETACOS. It was okay. The waiter told us maybe it was a different Chef that day. But, it’s cool. They were out of Garlic Fries so they gave us Sweet Potato fries for free. Anything free tastes way better, am I right people? The place is very clean, very pretty. Full Bar. In one dining area they have a big tree in the middle adorned with white lights. A few TV’s. The stage area was not open yet, but our friend showed us around anyway. Looked pretty cool. The drinks are pretty strong. Which is good. Feels like I was getting my moneys worth. But, because it was Happy Hour our bill was not bad. We also got to talk to one of the owners. He was very funny and sweet. I think what I like most about this place is the staff. Every single one of the staff members were all hugging each other at one point or another. They all seemed to like one another. I loved seeing that. So friendly. It’s just so different to see how they all were open to that kind of support and friendship. Very cool to see. I would love to go back next time we’re in town.

I frequent Rockwell a ton for their shows! The food is pretty good, but also pretty pricey for what you get. Sometimes I wish there wasn’t a two item minimum, but hey, a business has to do what it’s gotta do to survive. I get it. I would recommend the macaroni and cheese, the street corn, and the grilled cheese for food! Those are my top three favorites that I order. I’m not a huge alcohol drinker, so I normally stick to a soda or lemonade and that takes care of my two item minimum. The venue is a little tight so be ready to share tables with some strangers if your party is not very big. The service here varies and is a little different every time I come. Sometimes I have great service and sometimes it’s terrible! But for the most part, I’m coming here for the show, and not so much for the food/service so it doesn’t bother me that much that the service isn’t always consistent. Also make sure to look at your receipt closely to see if gratuity is already included. I’ve sometimes seen it included and sometimes it’s not. Just be careful. The shows here are great, and check out Goldstar for discount tickets! They currently have The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Devil Wears Prada playing on the weekends right now and the cast is great! As for parking, try to get there early(doors open an hour before the show starts) to try to score some street parking. If not, I’d recommend parking at the Dresden parking lot right next to the Rockwell’s valet. It’s only $ 4(I think Rockwell’s is $ 6 – 8) and the walk is practically nothing so it’s worth it.

The only stars given in this review are strictly for the show itself, otherwise Rockwell would get no stars. The unauthorized musical parody of The Devil Wears Prada was really fun. The whole show and cast were engaging and very talented. Show was a 5, venue gets −3=2 stars Now, to the venue itself… We were seated at a shared table with our backs to the stage after paying top dollar for tickets. This wasn’t too bad, but sort of set the tone for the evening. It took 30 minutes for a server to even come over and recognize that we were there. Having never been there, we weren’t quite sure how service worked, so after asking if he preferred the prix fixe menu or the regular menu, he said the prix fixe menu was better for the value. So, my wife and I each ordered our starter and entrée as well as a beverage to which the server claimed my entrée of pomegranate chicken was his favorite. The starter and entrees all came out together. As the food runner could barely hold everything, we instantly had 4 plates in front of us. Not ideal when the show is 2 hours long and you want to enjoy your meal. The steak tacos were average at best, the beet and cranberry salad was basically all cranberries and virtually inedible. The drinks finally arrived and their specialty tequila drink was the worst drink I may have had my entire life. Both my wife and I asked for new drinks of vodka soda to be safe and those came back as the second worse drink I’ve ever had. How do you mess up a vodka soda at a bar/restaurant. It was basically pure water with no fizz. Finally, we dug into our entrees. While my wife said her ravioli was good, my pomegranate chicken, the servers favorite, was also inedible. The risotto on the bottom was ok, but the chicken was rubbery and poor quality with virtually no flavor. We finally had to ask for dessert which was supposed to come with the meal and had to ask for the cookie with ice cream, which we had to pay additionally for even though we didn’t each get a dessert that was part of the prix fixe menu. The cookie dessert was the saving grace of the meal, but when isn’t it? We told the server about everything and they discounted our meal, but not enough as far as I’m concerned. No offer for anything other than a small discount that seemed arbitrary. Shows are fun here, but stay away from the food. Really put a damper on an otherwise fun evening.

Went to see their production of Home Alone. Great fun with the actors and actresses bringing the action into the crowd and occasionally breaking down that 4th wall. There’s a minimum food and beverage order requirement per person that isn’t hard to meet as prices are moderate to moderately high. I enjoyed the fact that they had themed drinks with names like«Filthy Animal» and that there were so many details from the movie that Home Alone fans could laugh and enjoy. The singing was excellent and the actors and actresses seemed to really dive into their roles. If you are looking for a fun night out with that special someone, friends or family(Adult humor) then this is something I’d definitely recommend. Tons of laughs.

Great entertainment! Our friends gave us tickets as presents to see the Home Alone Musical Parody. We had a great time! Food was just okay. We were a bit surprised when the host told us that our group will need to sit separately. When I asked if we could sit together since there was another empty table(for 6) next to us, the host said that the table has been reserved for the guests who paid full price. Tip: when you purchase tickets through Goldstar, they can’t guarantee that your group will be sitting together. This will probably work best for smaller group… like maybe a «party for two»?

I came here with some friends to see The Musical Parody of Clueless. We had a fabulous evening. The tables surround the stage and the actors come out into the audience during the performance. The servers are also part of the cast at times and do a little singing as well. It is a small venue, so you are sitting quite close to each other, but I didn’t feel over crowded during the evening. The food was fantastic. I had the Rockwell Steak Frites. It was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the french fries were oh so good! I also tasted some of the other menu items and they were good as well. I highly recommend the Skillet Mac and Cheese. The service was great. They serve even during the performance and try to be as inconspicuous as possible. Our waiter gave us a little button to keep on the table that we used to call him and he would come quickly when we needed something. The show was FANTASTIC! All of the actors were great. The singing was amazing. They also engaged the audience during the show and were quite funny. There is valet parking behind the theater and I imagine your can also park on the surrounding streets. Just watch the parking signs. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. This place is definitely worth a try. I am looking forward to our next visit in a few months!

It’s usually a pleasant experience here. Happy hour form 3−7pm every day is great! They offer $ 5 beers, $ 6 wine, $ 7 well drinks and $ 7 apps during those hours. If you come here during regular hours, it’s a little over priced in my opinion. The spicy tuna tacos and grilled cheese are really good. Although I would give them more stars for happy hour, I downgraded it because my last experience wasn’t so great. The server didn’t know the one seasonal beer on their menu, they were out of the other beer I ordered, and then I received a summer seasonal beer(was told it was their seasonal in late-December) that was expired. Luckily that one was on the house, but still. they shouldn’t be serving expired beer. This night happened to be my first night seeing a show here, which was great! However, we tried to use a scoutmob deal, which they said was not applicable in the stage area even though the fine print didn’t specify. The manager wasn’t super friendly about the deal, and was a bit condescending asking us, «well is this the only reason you came here?» Not sure what happened to the customer always being right, especially in a grey area like this. I don’t want to seem like a cheapskate, but hey, a deal is a deal, and they made us feel very uncomfortable. Next time I go to a show, I’ll stray away from ordering much food/drink to avoid these issues.

Been at my table for almost 30 minutes… way before it started to get busy, pressed the call button at least four times, still have not had one server come to my table. Luckily I came for the show and not for the food. Nevertheless, feeling very disappointed in the service. Table in front of me also looks frustrated and hungry. Update: according to my snapchat it took them a little over 52 minutes to notice me, at which point the show had already started and every other table around me was served with at least water.

I’ll start by saying I would give this place 10 stars. It was a fantastic night and I plan to bring anyone from out of town here. Everything is done so nicely, so perfect and hasn’t been invaded by tourists. We went for the Jeff Goldblum show and it was the best event I have ever attended. It started by parking in the valet behind the building($ 8.00) where we pulled up behind Goldblum himself. He got out of the car and started talking to us asking what we were doing there. And we said well here to see you of course and in typical Goldblum fashion he said«Ohhhh, good good, great. Happy you are here». We asked him to take a picture and he said«Well, uhh, I think it is a must». So we took a few pictures and he walked in. Don’t worry, if you don’t see him in the parking lot, he will be sure to chat with you after the show too(and also probably during). The food here was great and inexpensive. Compare to the Laugh Factor of disgusting drinks and chips for $ 20, the meal here I had a veggie burger which was huge and very good, plus a moscow mule for about $ 20. No complaints at all. The show was great. It is basically a half jazz show, a half Jeff Goldblum with stand up comedy, chatting with the audience and movie Trivia. If you like jazz, comedy, Jurassic Park, Goldblum or anything in between, you will enjoy your time. At one point he made a birthday party group start a conga line and he joined himself. At the end of the show JG takes pictures until you are satisfied. He signed a Jurassic Park DVD for us, he took a regular picture, a selfie picture and even recorded a video for us telling our family«Must go faster». He is not pressuring, very easy to talk to, and very genuine. If you bring up any topic, I bet he could chat for hours about it. Will be bringing friends and family here next time they are in town!

This place sorta gives a lounge-y feel. A musical artist I follow(AJ Rafael) had a Disney Tribute show with other fellow Youtube and independent artists, hosted here at Rockwell. Tickets for the performance were available online and you can choose your seat in the house. When buying tickets, be vigilant on how the stage may be set up as there are seats that have partially obscured views. Luckily my spot was right in front of a large pillar so I didn’t have that blocking me. However, if I had picked a spot behind the pillar, it would’ve been all I could see during the entire night. They have a 2 drink minimum, but it’s actually a 2 item minimum. Good thing since I don’t really drink! I ordered a flatbread pizza and something else that I don’t remember. Man was the food pricey! It was $ 16 for the pizza and it’s your standard size. Pizza was a little dry, so on par with an average flatbread pizza. The other item wasn’t memorable — I don’t even remember what it was! The show was great and this place does provide an intimate venue for live performances. One recommendation to the Rockwell is to make it easier to flag down the servers at the end of the show.

Five stars for the ambiance, the room/stage set up, the reservation system and the performance we went to see. Two stars for the(lack of) service and quality of the food for the money. Went with some girlfriends to Jeff Goldblum’s Wednesday jazz show. I used the online reservation system to get our table, which I really liked. Getting seated was easy, though it was kind of a maze to get back to the room from the valet area. The tables have a call button on them, that says«Order» «Cancel» and«Get bill» or something like that. We thought this was cool, initially, but in practice it was… not very cool at all. The servers all had some sort of Apple Watch-like thing on their wrist telling them what tables to go to. However, it seemed like our server got immediately overwhelmed with calls, because we’d press the call button, and he would walk right by us several times. Considering this show was packed(and it’s a weekly show, so I feel like the managers should foresee this?), it was weird how few servers were actually in the room. At one point we saw our server on the total other side of the room, and immediately realized that the space was woefully understaffed. We eventually got some food and drinks, but I wasn’t blown away by the quality, given the price of everything. There was also no salt or pepper on the table, and asking for it meant trying the Call button again… and we all know how that went. We never got that salt. Or another round of drinks. Or desserts. By the time the server got back over to our table, the show was just about over, so he was only coming by to give us our check. BOO. If you’re going to a show here, eat beforehand, and maybe try getting your drinks from the bar? But on the plus side, this is a spectacular room to watch live jazz in – great sound quality, good views from pretty much every seat in the house, and nice lighting/décor.

The entire experience at this establishment was disappointing and expensive. You would think that a restaurant that charges a cover charge PLUS a two«item» minimum with $ 13 cocktails and $ 20 appetizers would have their stuff together, but this place does not. Here are just a FEW of the issues. Seating: My friends and I went to Rockwell to support a friend that was performing. Two of us had bought tickets before and the third had to buy a ticket at the door. Apparently this was a HUGE inconvenience to the staff. They took 10 minutes to figure out that there was a free seat at our table(spoiler, ALL the seats were free because we were as far in the back as possible) The hostess then took my name for the ticket and kept misspelling it because«there are too many letters». Yeah, this is exactly the type of brain trust that Rockwell employs. Service: Our server pointed out that there are little buttons on the table if we need service which apparently means that the servers don’t have to check in on the tables to see how everything is, which basically means that no one actually CARES about whether or not you are having a good experience. The kicker is that when we pushed the button, the server didn’t show up. We had to flag him down several times. When we couldn’t find him to get the bill, we tried to flag down the hostess but were told«that she couldn’t get him because thats not her job, we would have to push the button» Which we had already been pushing for 10 minutes. If you are going to have a table button like a Korean BBQ, you should probably make sure that it works. Food: We only had 2 items, the Mac and Cheese and the Crème Brûlée. The Mac and Cheese was OVERLY salty and basically inedible. It appeared they had crushed pretzels and sprinkled them on top. Additionally, and Ive NEVER said these words before, THEREWASTOOMUCHBACON. We tried to finish it. The whole table tried. We couldn’t finish it. The portion was not large. The crème brûlée was soggy and, you know how you are supposed to «crack» the brûlée to open it? Yeah, you can’t crack something that is mush. Bill: We were charged $ 100 more than the cost of our bill. I called the restaurant the next morning and was told that I «have to wait three days» and the charge would«fall off» which is not helpful when your bank treats the money like it has been spent, thus making us $ 100 poorer the day before Thanksgiving. I have yet to see the charge«fall off». Overall: The show was great, but the restaurant does NOT have their act together. I didn’t even mention the part where we asked for a sample of a wine to compare it with another and the server took the sample away before we got the other glass of wine so we couldn’t even compare them. It would be great it Rockwell would invest time in actually training their employees on proper customer service and how to cook. If you go for a show, do not eat the food, and order the minimum amount of drinks and you might not be as disappointed as we were.

We’ve seen two shows here(Cruel Intentions and Scream, both musical parodies, both SOMUCHFUN). Get tix at the bar, great view for half the price, plus you won’t have to share a table with strangers. It’s a 2 item minimum, so you might as well get two overpriced and mediocre drinks, versus the overpriced and mediocre food. But you aren’t there for the food, you’re there for the fun. This is my go to place for music, play, skid, parody, drinks, food, view! They got it all. The best venue in LA in my opinion. The only complaint I’d have is that seating is too tight. But it’s a cozy atmosphere. Been here at least 8 – 10 times having dinner, drinks and show. The best in LA. Food isn’t bad too for being a show venue. There’s a lot of talented actors and singers! Woah, it’s Jeff Goldblum. No seriously, I walked past him when I came in. Apparently he plays the piano?! Who knew. He’s playing tonight. There’s two main sections to this place: the concert room where the band plays, and the main dining room. I can’t speak to the concert area since I was only there for dinner, so we’ll focus on that. The bar is awesome. They have a lot of scotch options, which is the first priority in my mind. I asked for a McCallan 10, and the bartender responded, «I’m sorry sir, we only have the 12 year or older». Well OKAY I guess I’m going with that one! The bartenders and servers were very knowledgeable and more than accommodating. The food was also delicious. I highly recommend the truffle fries; they were the highlight of the night. The steak frites were good, and you can’t go wrong with either of the fish plates(salmon or sea bass). The crusted salmon was my favorite dish by far.

I was lucky to be able to see the last night of the Clueless parody here with friends. I was not looking forward to the trek to this area, but it was worth it! The show was clever, energetic and fun! I got a good dose of early 90’s music as well as some good drinks. There was a great mash up of Marvin Gaye and Genuwine at one point. lol. The show took parts of the film and gave it a good musical twist! At the end, the director came out and gave a speech about all of the actors. I thought it was great to see how well the team meshed and how much effort they put into the show. My faves were the actors who played Amber(in drag), Tai and Murray. They were both spot on with their lines and really engaging. At one point they were totally ad-libbing and throwing each other off which got really hilarious. Dionne and Murray had some great scenes together as well. I got the tickets on Goldstar and we shared a table with a few other groups of gals. It wasn’t awkward at all! The only uncomfortable part is if you are seated facing away from the stage you will have to turn or twist in an odd way to see the stage. Similarly there are two tables to the rear of the stage blocked by a column. I assume they give comp tix from those two non-awesome spots. My girlfriends and I had a good night in Hollywood and I’m glad we were able to see such a talented group perform such a well-rehearsed show. — I recommend getting here an hour early to enjoy snacks and drinks. — You can easily eat through the show though(you can buzz your server with a device). — Parking is on the street or valet in the back. — Rockwell’s entrance is at the rear alleyway. Pass the open bar area and go through the door to the ticket booth and show area.

The Skillet Mac ‘N Cheese was the best thing that I ordered. I didn’t notice any«pretzel crust,» or anything related to a pretzel. Great size for sharing, and it was tasty. The Stone-Fired Oven Mini Flatbread wasn’t «mini» at all. In fact, it was just a big unimpressive pizza that tasted ok. The waiter under-estimated the size by a long shot. Also, too big to share if you order other items. The Miss Mary Jane(Kettle One, Thyme, Citrus, Strawberry & Ginger Beer) sounded interesting… but it wasn’t. Way too sweet and carbonated. They need to find a better mix of ingredients or different ingredients altogether. Tip: If you’re going to the Greek Theater, leave 30 – 60 minutes before you show starts… it’s close by in terms of distance, but far by traffic times. The food was decent, but should have been better based on the menu descriptions, the look of the restaurant, and the area. Very reasonable prices on the Happy Hour«Shared Plates» and drinks menu.

1 star for service, 2 stars for food, 5 stars for the show. **Update after 2nd visit: 1 star for the reservation system + hostess, 3 stars for the service, 5 stars for the show. We came here to see«Up With a Twist», which is a 5-star ongoing monthly event. Last year, their venue was Vitello’s Upstairs in Studio City. That was a much better experience. We’ll still come back to Rockwell for the show, but will dine elsewhere first. Todd and Heather, if you are listening, please return to Studio City. The problems: 1) When you buy tickets, you pick the exact seats you want, but we arrived to discover that the hostess had seated someone else in one of our seats. So what’s the point of their fancy reservation system? We were happy with where we ended up, but still… **Update after 2nd visit: this happened again. They’d already put someone in our seats and attempted to seat us behind a pillar. We said no to that and were mostly OK with where we ended up, but it’s a big no-no to take reservations for specific seat numbers and then not honor that. 2) It took 20 minutes for the server to come around and take our drink orders. **Update after 2nd visit: better this time for the first round of drinks. It took a while to get someone’s attention for the 2nd round. 3) They delivered our food to someone else, then eventually re-delivered it to us. There is no excuse for this. It is fundamental. I hate it when places mess this up. When this happens, I’d really like to see the food re-prepared, everyone involved have their entire bill comped, tickets refunded, free passes to the next event, and apologies galore. **Update after 2nd visit: we went elsewhere for food so this wasn’t an issue. 4) The $ 16 main-course vegan salad that got good reviews here on Unilocal was the size of an $ 8 appetizer and pretty boring compared to what I had been expecting. Although still very limited, the vegan choices at Vitello’s are much better. Also, the fries weren’t very good. The(supposedly) vegan quinoa burger was decent though. **Update after 2nd visit: we went elsewhere for food beforehand, so non-issue. 5) There are pagers on each table that, we were told, you could press to call over a server to order another round of drinks during the show. But we pressed it and nobody ever appeared. At Vitello’s, the servers would periodically check up on you. You know, like they are supposed to. **Update after 2nd visit: the pagers still don’t seem to do anything. We ended up flagging down the server the old-fashioned way. 6) The bills were not delivered to the tables until after the show was over. At Vitello’s the servers discreetly brought them towards the end so you could leave as soon as the fun ended. **Update after 2nd visit: we asked for the bill when ordering the 2nd round of drinks, so everything was fine. Looks like the server was bringing checks to all the tables, so perhaps they’ve fixed this issue for good. 7) When our server didn’t reappear to take our credit card, we tried to pay at the bar and told we weren’t allowed. We tried to pay with the hostess and told we weren’t allowed. **Update after 2nd visit: didn’t have any problems paying this time. 8) No beer on tap, nor wine by the bottle. **Update after 2nd visit: same.

First of all let them say the ambiance is to die for. You can tell whomever designed this restaurant had a eye for modern architecture which is both chic, simple yet functional for such a expanded space. I went there for the Mother’s Day Brunch and it was delicious to say the least. It was a mix between American cuisine with a hipster twist and fresh Mediterranean style dishes. Not too much of a variety mainly: freshly made omelets, their specialty breakfast chicken and homemade sausage, a couple of basic pastries, and different types of fruit appetizers. This is the real restaurant connoisseur crowd who have come to eat, talk and relax so make sure not to take your talkative or loud friends. Or else you will be jeered at and the management will have waiters politely bother to see if your done. Don’t get me wrong the waiters are very friendly and diligent to you throughout your meal. When we went they had a DJ placing soft world music(reggae, soft adult alt, french music) very Starbucks likes music. This place is moderately priced at about $ 26 person(even for kids). What you have to watch for is the expensive drinks that’s how they make their money for each patron. Oh btw there was no menu so yeah you might want to check on-line before you walk through the door and start ordering away. Other than that a great restaurant quietly hidden and nestled in the heart of Los Feliz but worth the search for this treasure.
